In this paper, microstrip antenna is designed for industrial-scientific-medical(ISM)band of S-Band. We proposed that radiation element of antenna, which is rectangle patch shape. The feeding structure used L-shaped structure. Center frequency and -l0dB bandwidth are investigated by change of length and width in patch plane. And maximum gain, front to back ratio and 3dB beam width is presented by simulation radiation pattern of antenna in frequency ISM Band. The center frequency is 2.45GHz, band width is $2.314{\sim}2.577GHz$ with 263MHz(11%). And the antenna maximum gain is 9.3dBi, 3dB beam width E-plane is $52.5^{\circ}$, H-plane is $64.7^{\circ}$.
Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate whether the size of the changed area included in the registration area affects the validity of superimposition in three-dimensional (3D) images. Materials and Methods: Ten mannequin heads which were sectioned to simulate maxillary and mandibular setback surgery were used. A total of 30 images, including 10 initial images, 10 images after moving both middle and lower faces, and 10 images after moving only lower face, were obtained. The 9 landmarks which consisted of the bilateral and midline landmarks of the upper, middle, and lower faces respectively were used. Each 3D image obtained after simulation was superimposed 3 times according to the different 3 registration areas. The one-way ANOVA and posthoc analysis were performed. Result: In the case of moving middle and lower faces, there was no significant difference in all markers when superimposition was performed based on no changed area and forehead area. However, in the case of superimposition by the whole face, all measurements showed a significant difference (P<0.05) except for Pn (P>0.05). In the case of moving only lower face, all measurements did not show a significant difference regardless of the registration area. Conclusion: The validity of 3D superimposition in 3D images could be affected by the size of changed areas included in the registration area. In the postoperative evaluation of mandibular surgery, the registration area does not affect the accuracy of the 3D superposition. However, after the maxilla-mandibular surgery, the registration area should be set except for the changed soft tissue.

The purpose of image fusion is to combine the relevant information from a set of images into a single image, where the resultant fused image will be more informative and complete than any of the input images. Image fusion techniques can improve the quality and increase the application of these data important applications of the fusion of images include medical imaging, remote sensing, and robotics. In this paper, we suggest a new method to generate a fusion image using the close relation of image features obtained through maximum entropy threshold and mutual information. This method represents a good image registration in case of using a blurring image than other image fusion methods.
3D rendering is a critical process for a movie production, advertisement, interior simulation, medical and many other fields. Recently, several effective rendering methods have been developed for the photo-realistic image generation. With a rapid performance enhancement of graphics hardware, physically based 3D rendering algorithm can now often be approximated in real-time games. However, the high quality of global illumination, required for the image generation in the 3D animation production community is a still very expensive process. In this paper, we propose a new rendering method to create photo-realistic global illumination effect efficiently by harnessing the high power of the recent GPUs. Final gathering routines in our global illumination module are accelerated by programmable graphics hardware. We also simulate physically based light transport on a ray tracing based rendering algorithm with photon mapping effectively.

Virtual training is a kind of training that proceeds as if it were a real situation. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for experiencing a situation in which a virtual reality technology has not been experienced directly in the real world due to the rapid development of the technology. Especially, safety education is very necessary in Korea where safety accidents are caused by many disasters. Therefore, simulation of disaster response training using virtual reality is more urgent than ever. Although the automatic defibrillator is the medical device that is most needed to rescue patients with cardiac arrest, few people know how to use it. Therefore, there are very few cases where the use of automatic defibrillators has saved the patient's life in Korea. The proposed Automated External Defibrillator virtual training system enables immersive and experiential training in real situations and effective training at low cost.

EMR(Electronic Medical Record) is an emerging technology that is highly-blended between non-IT and IT area. One of methodology to link non-IT and IT area is to construct databases. Nowadays, it supports before and after-treatment for patients and should satisfy all stakeholders such as practitioners, nurses, researchers, administrators and financial department and so on. In accordance with the database maintenance, DAS (Data as Service) model is one solution for outsourcing. However, there are some scalability and strategy issues when we need to plan to use DAS model properly. We constructed three kinds of databases such as plain-text, MS built-in encryption which is in-house model and custom AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) - DAS model scaling from 5K to 2560K records. To perform custom AES-DAS better, we also devised Bucket Index using Bloom Filter. The simulation showed the response times arithmetically increased in the beginning but after a certain threshold, exponentially increased in the end. In conclusion, if the database model is close to in-house model, then vendor technology is a good way to perform and get query response times in a consistent manner. If the model is DAS model, it is easy to outsource the database, however, some technique like Bucket Index enhances its utilization. To get faster query response times, designing database such as consideration of the field type is also important. This study suggests cloud computing would be a next DAS model to satisfy the scalability and the security issues.
On the new medical system separating the prescription and dispensing of the drug, the qualification of pharmacist in substitution of prescribed medicine was restricted, except bioequivalence-certified drugs. Also, Korean Food and Drug Association(KFDA) revised the bioequivalence regulation on August, 2001 Among many changes from old guideline, impressive one is the statistical consideration. Specially, to estimate and analyze bioequivalence measures, AUC and $C_{max}$, the log-transformed model is recommended and the equivalence interval is modified from $\pm$20 rule to [In(0.8),In(1.25)] one. This meaningful act is very hope-for because it is statistically reasonable and is agreed with worldwide bioequivalence guideline, including USA, EU, Japan and Canada. In this paper, we introduce the new regulation of assessing bioequivalence, announced at August, 2001, mainly on statistical view points. Key points for the new regulation are discussed and the minimum sample size based on simulation studies are proposed.

The use of robots is no longer limited to the field of industrial robots and is now expanding into the fields of service and medical robots. In this light, a trajectory generation method that can respond instantaneously to the external environment is strongly required. Toward this end, this study proposes a method that enables a robot to change its trajectory in real-time using a convolution operation. The proposed method generates a trajectory in real time and satisfies the physical limits of the robot system such as acceleration and velocity limit. Moreover, a new way to improve the previous method (11), which generates inefficient trajectories in some cases owing to the characteristics of the trapezoidal shape of trajectories, is proposed by introducing a triangle shape. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed method is shown through a numerical simulation and a comparison with the previous convolution method.
A coded excitation has been studied to improve the performance for ultrasound imaging in term of SNR, imaging frame rate, contrast to tissue ratio, and so forth. However, it requires a complicated arbitrary waveform transmitter for each active channel that is typically composed of a multi-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) and a linear power amplifier (LPA). Not only does the LPA increase the cost and size of a transmitter block, but it consumes much power, increasing the system complexity further and causing a heating-up problem. This paper proposes an optimized 1.5bit fourth order sigma-delta modulation technique applicable to design an efficient arbitrary waveform generator with greatly reduced power dissipation and hardware. The proposed SDM can provide a required SQNR with a low over-sampling ratio of 4. To this end, the loop coefficients are optimized to minimize the quantization noise power in signal band while maintaining system stability. In addition, the decision level for the 1.5 bit quantizer is optimized for a given input waveform, which results in the SQNR improvement of more than 5dB. Computer simulation results show that the SQNR of a FM(frequency modulated) signal generated by using the proposed method is about 26dB, and the peak side-lobe level (PSL) of its compressed waveform on receive is -48dB.
To improve $B_1$ homogeneity in high field MRI, the RF power is applied to the transmit array coil elements sequentially in the time-multiplexed way. Since only a single coil element is activated in a time-multiplexing slot, the global standing wave formation in the human body is greatly suppressed. The time-multiplexing slot width is on the order of micro seconds, hence, high-order-harmonic slices can be placed far from the transmit coil and simultaneous multiple slice selection can be avoided. The $B_1$ homogeneities of a birdcage coil and an eight-channel transmit array coil have been compared through finite difference time domain simulations. The simulation results indicate that the proposed technique can reduce the peak-to-peak $B_1$ inhomogeneity down to one fourth of the transmission with a birdcage coil on the central plane of the human head model at 3 T. The mimicking experiments at 3 T, eight separate experiments with a single coil element activated and image reconstruction by combining the eight images, also show promising results. It is expected that the proposed technique has some advantages over other $B_1$ improving methods in real practice since simple RF switching circuitries are only necessary and electromagnetic coupling between the coil elements is out of concern in its realization.
