  • Tri-stimulus values of CIE-XYZ and RGB values obtained by photographic film, CCD camera or scanner depend on the spectral sensitivity of imaging devices and the spectral radiant distribution of the illumination. It is important to record and reproduce the reflectance spectra of the object for true device independent color reproduction and high accurate recording of the scene. In this paper, a method to record the reflection spectra of the object is introduced and its application to spectral endoscopes is presented.

  • A controlled medical vocabulary is a vital component of medical information management because it enables computers to use information meaningfully and different institutions to share the medical data. There are currently many standard medical vocabularies - SNOMED-CT, ICD-10, UMLS, GALEN, MED, etc, but none is universally accepted as an optimal controlled medical vocabulary for application to medical information system. Moreover, it is difficult to settle the well-designed local data dictionary consisting of controlled medical vocabularies for the individual hospital information system (HIS). One of the major reasons is the local terminology with poor contents have been used in the hospital. Thus, as a trial, the local controlled vocabulary referencing system has being constructed in a limited medical field - nuclear medicine. We selected practical nuclear medicine terms from interpretation reports and electronic medical records, and removed ambiguity and redundancy, mapping the selected terms to standard medical vocabularies. Relationship and hierarchy structure between terms have being made, referring to standard medical vocabularies. Further studies may be warranted.

  • The cough is generally known as a symptom occurred from Lung. But it was descriptive of the symptom every internal organs can cause in "HwangjenaegyeongSomun Haelon". The reason is that, when a pathogenic Gi attack human body, the body skin which have the relationship to Lung is attacked firstly. But the internal organs preside over each seasons of the year, so the season's presiding organ is ultimately attacked. And in "Somun Haelon" the partner symptoms of five solid organs cough and six hollow organs cough are being described, so we can distinguish between each internal organs coughs. Clinically, the cough is most common symptom and one of the most difficult symptom. In my opinion, the origin organ of cough is very various, but the doctor fix their thinking to the Lung, so the cough became a most difficult symptom. This thesis describe pathogenesis and partner symptoms of five solid organs cough and six hollow organs cough. And illustrate clinical examples and some medical prescriptions. Intend to show that various treatment after differentiation of syndromes[辨證施治] surely needed for effective curing of a cough.

  • Objectives: Following the Jin Yuan Dynasty, the Ming and Song Dynasties witnessed a great development of Yunqi xue. A study into this development has a vast significance in studying the history of the development of traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: The contents relating to Yunqi within the Comprehensive Medical Books, published during the Ming period, and medical texts separately published specifically dealing with Yunqi were used in order to review the unique characters of the study of Yunqi during this period. Results: There were many cases in the comprehensive medical books during the Ming period that dealt with Yunqi. Some of the examples are: Yunqilu in Yixueliuyao, YunQiZongLun in Yixuerumen, and Yunqilu in Yixueliuyao. A number of books that followed suit from the previous generation's study were published, the examples of which are Wangji's Yunqiyilan, and ZhangJiebin's LeiJingtuyi. WangJi, in his book, opposed the mechanic utilization of YunQi theory, and advocated the flexible application of the theory at the doctor's discretion. Liwei, in his YunQiZongLun, wrote a great deal of knowledge which he gained based on the previous-generation medical masters' achievements. Conclusions: Yunqi became widely accepted during the Ming period which led to some doctors advocating the flexible application of the YunQi theory, and some doctors even completely denouncing Yunqi.

  • This research paper introduces the application and implementation of medical decision metrics that classifies medical decision-making into four different metrics using statistical diagnostic tools, such as confusion matrix, normal distribution, Bayesian prediction and Receiver Operating Curve(ROC). In this study, the metrics are developed based on cross-section study, cohort study and case-control study done by systematic literature review and reformulated the structure of type I error, type II error, confidence level and power of detection. The study proposed implementation strategies for 10 quality improvement activities via 14 medical decision metrics which consider specificity and sensitivity in terms of ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$. Examples of ROC implication are depicted in this paper with a useful guidelines to implement a continuous quality improvement, not only in a variable acceptance sampling in Quality Control(QC) but also in a supplier grading score chart in Supplier Chain Management(SCM) quality. This research paper is the first to apply and implement medical decision-making tools as quality improvement activities. These proposed models will help quality practitioners to enhance the process and product quality level.

  • The objectives of this study were to examine the present state of Oriental clinical service based on Constitutional medicine and to make an accurate estimate of it's scale in 2015. The data for this study were collected from a questionnaire survey to 335 Traditional Korean Medical doctors who were selected as random samples. And this questionnaire is consist of several inquiries related with management and application of constitutional medicine. The 38.8% facilities of all Oriental medical centers and Clinics in the whole country are applying Constitutional medicine for treating patients. The 8,870 persons in all health workers are engaged in Constitutional clinical service. The proportion of sales by Constitutional clinical services to the total sales by Traditional clinical service is 26.6% in 2007. The proportion of application to medical care insurance by Constitutional clinical service is 21.6% of all amounts. After taking these results into consideration, the sales of Constitutional clinical service now are estimated to make up 26.6% percent of the total traditional medical service and the amount of it's sales in 2015 is expected to increase up to 2.8 times as much as the current quantity.
