유치원 아동의 예방적 건강관리를 위한 부모의 보건교육 형태 연구 (A Study on Health Education Behavior of Parent for Preventive Health Care of Kindergarten Children)

  • The study surveyed 1,127 mothers whose children aged 3 to 5 went to 25 randomly selected kindergartens, which were located in Busan Metropolitan City and the adjacent Gimhae City, and analyzed the preventive health behaviors on their children and the condition of home health education on their children. As the compulsory kindergarten education will e to be implemented within 4 years, this study aimed to draw up the rudimentary material for health education at kindergartens. The study results are summed up as follows: 1. Mothers' awareness of health-related attitude and behavioral level for their children at kindergarten: 1) The general health condition of the children, which mothers are aware of, was that they were healthy on the whole. As their children becomes older, the income level of the parents is lower, and mothers have lower level of educational standard, the health condition of the children was found a little lower. 2) In terms of mothers' recognition of the practice level of preventive health behaviors, the items such as going to bed regularly, washing hands and feet well, and having meals regularly were high in the practice level, while exercise and tooth-brushing were not practiced well. 2. The condition of mothers' health education of their children: 1) It was found that washing hands and feet, restriction of overeating and preference for specific kinds of food, guidance on regular sleep and regular meal were practiced well among items of home health education targeting kindergarten children. 2) Mothers have obtained information on family health from printed matter such as newspaper or magazine rather than the visual media. 3) From the cross analysis of mothers' health education on children and children's health behaviors, as the standard of education of mothers was higher, so was the level of preventive health behaviors of children. 3. From the result of multi regression analysis of the factors influencing the preventive hygiene of kindergarten children, it was found that as the home health education level was higher, so was the health behavior of children. On the other hand, as the mothers were older, the health behavior of children became lower.

  • 본 논문에서는 JADE 플랫폼과 OSGi 프레임워크의 연동을 통해 더욱 발전된 상황인지 헬스케어 시스템을 제안한다. 기존 헬스케어 시스템들은 매우 수동적인 서비스들만을 제공하고 있으며, 시스템 표준이 정해지지 않아 각각의 시스템 간 호환성이 보장되지 않고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 이유로 본 논문에서는 헬스케어 시스템에 에이전트 표준 플랫폼인 JADE를 적용함으로써 컨텍스트 정보의 효율적인 관리와 자동화된 서비스의 제공을 피한다. 또한, Surrogate System(이하 써로게이트)에 표준 서비스 게이트웨이인 OSGi 프레임워크를 탑재함으로서 국제 산업계 표준을 만족 시키며, 플랫폼이나 응용 프로그램 등에 큰 제약을 받지 않고 헬스케어를 비롯한 다양한 서비스의 제공을 가능하게 한다. 이러한 각 프레임워크들의 이점들을 차용하기 위해 하나의 헬스케어 시스템에 두 개의 플랫폼을 적용하고, 플랫폼 간의 서비스 공유를 위해 OSGi와 JADE간의 연동 기술을 개발한다. 아울러 상황인지 헬스케어 시스템을 지향하기 위하여 컨텍스트 정보를 기반으로 간단한 추론이 가능한 Dummy Context Agent Engine을 개발하여 적용한다.

  • 수많은 채널과 VoD 콘텐츠, 웹 콘텐츠들이 존재하는 콘텐츠 소비 환경에서의 추천은 이제 선택이 아닌 필수가 되었다. 현재 OTT서비스나 IPTV서비스에서도 많은 사람들이 선호하는 콘텐츠를 추천하거나 사용자가 시청한 콘텐츠와 유사한 콘텐츠들을 추천하는 등, 다양한 종류의 추천 서비스들이 제공되고 있다. 하지만 TV, IPTV와 같이 대체로 한 가구당 하나의 가입정보와 하나의 TV, 셋탑박스를 공유하는 TV를 통한 콘텐츠 시청환경의 경우, 하나의 가입정보에 1명 이상의 사용 이력이 쌓여 특정 사용자에 대한 추천을 제공하기에 어려움이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 가족의 개념을 {사용자, 시간}으로 해석하여, 기존의 {사용자, 콘텐츠}로 정의하는 추천 관계를 {사용자, 시간, 콘텐츠}으로 확장하고 이를 딥러닝 기반으로 해결하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법을 통해 추천 성능을 정성적 정량적으로 평가하였으며, 기존의 시간대를 고려하지 않은 방법과 비교하여 추천 정확도가 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.

What Do Korean Women Know and Want to Know about Thyroid Cancer? A Qualitative Study

  • Background: Despite increasing debate about overdiagnosis and overtreatment of thyroid cancer in Korea, information to guide decisions on whether or not to undergo screening for and treatment of abnormal lesions of the thyroid is lacking. Moreover, studies have yet to outline what lay people know and want to know about thyroid cancer. The primary aim of this study was to explore general awareness of thyroid cancer among Korean women, their sources of information, and their satisfaction with the information they are provided. The secondary aim was to investigate information needs about thyroid cancer. Materials and Methods: A qualitative study using focus group interviews was conducted. Twenty-nine women were divided into four groups: (1) participants who had never undergone thyroid ultrasound screening; (2) those who had undergone screening, (3) those who continued to undergo regular check-ups with ultrasonography for benign nodules of the thyroid; and (4) participants who had undergone surgery for thyroid cancer. Results: A widespread lack of awareness of information on thyroid cancer was noted among participants in groups 1 and 2 who were not well aware of thyroid cancer and generally recognized it as a 'good cancer'. Surprisingly, instead of doctors and medical personnel, most participants reported obtaining information from acquaintances and media outlets. Moreover, most participants described dissatisfaction with their experience with screening and a lack of explanation on treatment and test results from medical personnel. Conclusions: Women in Korea seek reliable information on thyroid cancer that could help them to better understand the disease and make informed decisions regarding screening and treatment. More effort is needed from medical personnel to communicate the implications of thyroid cancer, screening results, and treatments thereof to lay people.

일부 식품영양 전공 및 비전공 대학생의 콩고기 인식과 섭취실태 및 콩고기 미트볼 관능평가 (The Consumption, Perception, and Sensory Evaluation of Soy Meat by University Students Majoring in Food and Nutrition)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the consumption status and perception of soy meat among university students and to compare their sensory evaluations of commercial meatballs and soy meatballs. The subjects were students at a university who were grouped into those majoring in food and nutrition and those not majoring in the subject. The results of the two groups were compared. The main sources through which the students became aware of meat analogs were examined. The food and nutrition major students were about three times more likely to learn about meat analogs through 'education', and those not majoring in the subject were about four times more likely to learn about them from the social media (P<0.01). The most common reason for having tried soy meat was 'curiosity' and that for not eating it was 'no opportunity'. Without significant differences between groups, the most common answer for questions relating to the product that they had eaten was 'Ramen flakes' (30.5%) and the most common answer for the routes for eating the product was in the order of: 'restaurants' (36.6%)>school lunches (24.9%)>large and medium-sized supermarkets (22.8%). The most common answer to the question inviting suggestions on 'improvement points to promote the consumption of soy meat' was 'taste'(19.2%), followed by 'product promotion' and 'reasonable price'. About half of the subjects failed to differentiate the soy meatballs from regular meatballs before the sensory test and 21.3% after that. The difference in the sensory test scores of the two types of meatballs with respect to 'texture' was significantly higher for the major students than for the non-major students (P<0.05). These results could provide basic information that could enable the promotion of soy meat.

General Public Knowledge Regarding Topical Corticosteroids: A Nationwide Survey in South Korea

  • Background: Topical corticosteroids (TCs) are available both as over-the-counter drugs and prescription medicines at pharmacies. Although they are generally safe drugs, inappropriate and excessive use could result in potential side effects. Thus, it is important to have appropriate knowledge regarding the use of TCs. We performed a cross-sectional survey to assess public knowledge and the potential misuse or overuse of TCs. Methods: A cross-sectional and nationwide online survey was conducted among participants who were aware of TCs. The survey items included sources of information, indications, potential side effects, and methods of application of TCs. A comparative analysis was conducted between those with (TC users) and without (TC non-users) an experience of using TCs. Results: Among 3,000 participants, 74.4% were TC users. The mass media was the most common information source of TCs, and only one-third of the surveyed people relied on pharmacists or doctors for information. Regarding indications and application methods, incorrect answer rate was high in some items, but respondents showed adequate knowledge. However, awareness of the safety of TCs was low. Overall, the TC users showed a higher knowledge of TCs than TC non-users. Conclusions: Public knowledge of the use of TCs appears to be appropriate. However, we found potential misuse or overuse of some items and a lack of awareness of the side effects concerning TCs. Thus, healthcare professionals' significant role is required.

가상화 환경에서 고속 스토리지를 위한 워크로드 맞춤형 페이지 크기 모델링 (Workload-Aware Page Size Modeling for Fast Storage in Virtualized Environments)

  • 최근 옵테인 등 고속 스토리지의 출현으로 하드디스크에 적합하게 설계된 메모리 시스템 설정에 대한 재고가 필요한 시점에 이르렀다. 본 논문에서는 고속 스토리지의 탑재에 따라 페이지 크기가 메모리 시스템의 성능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고, 가상화 환경에서 워크로드 상황에 맞게 페이지 크기를 설정할 수 있는 모델을 설계하였다. 전통적인 시스템의 경우 워크로드 별로 페이지 크기를 설정하는 것이 쉬운 일이 아니지만 최근 클라우드 환경의 활성화로 개별 워크로드 수행을 위해 별도의 가상머신이 생성되므로 가상머신이 시작될 때 해당 가상머신의 페이지 크기를 결정할 수 있어 제안한 모델의 효용이 높을 것으로 기대된다. 다양한 가상머신 시나리오에 대한 시뮬레이션 실험을 통해 제안한 모델이 워크로드 상황에 맞게 페이지 크기를 설정하여 메모리 접근 시간을 크게 개선함을 보인다.

반가음식에 대한 소비자 인식도 (Consumers' Perception on Noble Family's Food)

  • The purpose of this research was to investigate consumers' awareness and perception of the noble family food to popularize it. A total of 1,100 subjects lived in Seoul area participated in Web-based survey. Thirty eight percents of the participants were not even aware that there exists the noble family food and overall 63% of the participants merely have the idea of what the noble family food is. The impressions of the noble family food varied widely. Some of them were positive as the noble family food seems good for health and some were negative as it is not easy to cook. The results showed that many people are not interested in noble family food, however, there was a high behavioral intention to have it in their future meal plan. Participants responded that noble family food had not fully developed yet (mean=4.08), but it had potential to be world-wide excellent (mean=3.95). There was significantly high scored response that the noble family food should contain sanitary cooking process to popularize it (mean=4.16). Also participants addressed that it was necessary to use public relations through mass media (mean=4.02), and it required appropriate educational approach to the noble family food (mean=4.02). In addition, people perceived that traditional custom and the noble family foods were jointly connected by cultural events. On the other hand, there were low scored responses on developing of noble family food as a processed food to be generally accessible in daily life. In conclusion, the importance of public relations should be emphasized to popularize the noble family food. Also, increasing the number of places that sell noble family food would help to popularize it.

Knowledge and Awareness of Colorectal Cancer among Undergraduate Students at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: a Survey-Based Study

  • Background: This study explored the knowledge and awareness about colorectal cancer (CRC) among undergraduate students of one of the leading universities in Saudi Arabia, along with the mode of information access. Materials and Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted at the King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, among students of different faculties. The study questionnaire, containing 28 items, was adapted from surveys identified in the relevant literature. The CRC awareness questionnaire consisted of an awareness section (early CRC signs and symptoms, and risk factors) and a knowledge section. The data were analyzed using the SPSS version 21.0. Results: A total of 525 undergraduate students participated in the study. The majority were females (63.0%) and approximately half (56.8%) were medical students. The majority of the students (82.3%) were aware of CRC, and 68% thought that CRC is a preventable disease. Regarding colorectal cancer screening tests, only one-third of students (33%) had actual knowledge, while the majority of the students (77.0%) thought that there are tests which help in early detection. Only 4% of the participants had a family history of CRC. The majority of the participants (84%) thought that CRC is a disease that can be cured. Almost 50-60% participants had good awareness level regarding risk factors, and signs and symptoms. Regarding knowledge, participant responses varied for family history (52%), age (59%), chronic infection of the colon (72%), obesity and lack of exercise (66%). More than one-third of the students had received information material regarding CRC from their curriculum followed by social media (20.4%), and nearly 40% from other sources such as TV, hospital and mass media. Female participants had significantly better awareness in a few questions regarding CRC awareness as compared to their male counterparts. There was a significant difference observed between medical and non-medical students (p<0.001) in overall score of awareness and knowledge about CRC while no significant difference found in gender-wise comparison. Conclusions: Knowledge and awareness of students about CRC were not up to the mark. Medical students and female students had better knowledge in a few areas, but the overall situation is dismal.

조영제 부작용에 대한 조직책임 (Organizational Liability for Adverse Reactions to the Contrast Media)

  • 조영제를 사용한 방사선과 검사의 조영제 부작용에 대한 위험성은 잘 알려져 있으며, 조영제의 부작용을 줄이기 위한 연구도 지속적으로 진행되어 왔다. 또한 조영제 부작용에 대한 사전검사를 하더라도 조영제에 의한 치명적 부작용을 예측하기 어렵다. 이러한 조영제 부작용에 대한 법적책임에 대하여 최근에는 의료기관개설자의 책임이 중요시되고 있다. 의료기관은 환자의 건강을 목적으로 하는 조직체이다. 그리고 조직체는 그 구성원에 의한 과실에 책임이 있다. 그러므로 의료기관개설자는 의료서비스에 대해서 기대가능한 모든 노력을 하여야 하며, 불충분 또는 불완전한 조직편성 및 진료조치가 이루어지지 않게 하여야 할 조직의무를 부담한다. 이러한 점에서 의료기관은 방사선조영검사시에 조영제를 주입하는 단계로부터 검사의 완료에 이르기까지 전과정에 충분하고도 완전한 조직편성과 적정한 진료 확보를 위한 제반조치를 취할 책임이 있다. 따라서 환자의 안전과 진료의 적정을 위하여 의료기관이 조직적으로 필요한 조치를 시행하지 않거나 불충분한 경우에는 불법행위법상 의료기관 독자적인 조직책임을 지게 되며, 의료기관의 조직의무위반은 의료기관 자신의 책임이므로 내부관계에서 의료기관종사자 개인에게 구상권을 행사할 수 없다.
