  • Since six sigma program was first introduced in late 1990's, it has been evolved in Korea. The number of six sigma adopting company are getting increased and diversify manufacturing, service, government. In these days, the rapid innovation of internet technology change the media industry's game rule. This paper is concerned with a six sigma applications to internet media portal service company. The main focus of this study is to introduce an empirical case study on the implementation of DMAIC procedures for internet media portal service company.

Remediated Food in Media Revised model of Lévi-Strauss' Culinary Triangle

  • This study suggests a revised model of Lévi-Strauss' culinary triangle, which is frequently cited in food-related articles. To scrutinize how the media shares content about food and to remediate food discourse, this study conducted a focus group interview and targeted food program viewers and classified discoursal elements or nodes by Nvivo qualitative tools. In the process of classification, it found what seems to be hard to explain in the current food culture with Lévi-Strauss' culinary triangle, even if it still depicts appropriately, in the post-modern era implied complexity. Then, it arranged obtained discoursal nodes and analyzed the relationship between them. Interestingly, food in media plays as an important role beyond food itself, such as it can trigger memories, create social divides, play a role in economic invigoration, etc. Consequently, this paper suggests the revised culinary triangle model expanded from Lévi-Strauss' in which traces the molding process of food remediation with discoursal nodes in stages.

  • As network resources have become faster and demands for multimedia service through network have increased, the demand for Media server system has increased. These kinds of media server solve their bottle neck problem of internal storage device by using parallel system which takes advantage of fast network resource. Many vendors have suggested each of their media server system to solve these problem radically, but most of them require major modification of infra component and additional drawback has added. For example, storage mechanism for specific media requires new file system which is totally different from traditional one, and algorithm for enhancing performance may not suit for traditional operating system environment. In this paper, we designed a parallel media server based on web interface of traditional system and implemented a program for media server. Implemented server system performs parallel processing through web interface without any modification of traditional system, and controls which is related to merging load by distributed data is charged only to client and control server and consequently load of storage server can be minimized. And also, data transfer protocol for streaming media includes Retransfer algorithm and client Admission control policy relevant to performance of whole system.

Information Professionals' Knowledge Sharing Practices in Social Media: A Study of Professionals in Developing Countries

  • The primary objective of this study was to investigate the perception of informational professionals' knowledge sharing practices in social media platforms. The specific objectives of the study included learning professionals' perceptions and awareness of knowledge sharing using social media, understanding their opinions and beliefs, and gaining familiarity with and reasons for using these tools. Open & close ended web-based questions were sent out by email to the international training program (ITP) participants. Findings indicated that most of the respondents' were aware of using social media and that they used social media for knowledge sharing. Speed and ease of use, managing personal knowledge, easier communication with users and colleagues and powerful communication tool are the areas that motivated them to use it. It also stated some barriers like lack of support, familiarity, trust, unfiltered information and fear of providing information. The study was limited to the perceptual aspect of the issue, specifically from the individuals' opinions and sentiments.

아동의 학업스트레스, 그릿, 집행기능 곤란 및 미디어기기 과의존 간의 구조적 관계 (Structural Relationship among Children's Academic Stress, Grit, Executive Function Difficulty, and Media Device Addiction)

  • This study examined the structural relationship between children's academic stress, grit, executive function difficulty, and media device addiction. Data on 1,132 children and their mothers from the 11th (2018)Panel Study on Korean Children were used for the study. Data were collected by Academic Stress Scale, Grit Scale-Children, Child-Adolescent Self-reported Executive Function Difficulty Screening Questionnaire, and K-Internet Addiction Scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program with Pearson correlation, structural equation model and bootstrapping. The main results were as follows. 1) Children's academic stress had a negative influence on their grit. 2) Children's grit had a negative influence on their executive function difficulty and media device addiction. 3) Children's executive function difficulty had a positive influence on their media device addiction. 4) The relationship between children's academic stress and media device addiction was mediated by their grit and executive function difficulty. This study is significant in the sense that it found protective factors and risk factors for children's addiction to media devices. We suggest that children's grit be improved, and their academic stress and executive function difficulty be reduced to prevent and mediate children's media device addiction.

Relationships between Middle and High School Students' Experience of Viewing Media Sports Violence and the Imitation Behavior

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between the variables related to media sports violence viewing experience, negative emotion, aggression and violent imitation behavior of middle school students and high school students. The subjects of 240 middle school students and 240 high school students were surveyed for 2 months. Among the collected data, 64 samples judged to have low reliability were excluded from the analysis, and the final 416 data were used. The questionnaire used in this study consisted of four potential variables including experience of watching media sports violence, negative emotion, aggression, and violent imitation behavior. Among the sub-variables of experience of watching media sports violence, exogenous potential variables except frequency, period and time and questions that are endogenous potential variables were composed of a questionnaire of 5-point Likert scale. results of this study were analyzed using the AMOS statistical program, which was used to identify the causal relationship between watching media sports violence and negative emotion, aggression, and violent imitation behavior. There was no significant difference in violent imitation behavior according to school grade. The causal models for media sports violence viewing experience, negative emotions, aggression and violent imitation behavior were found to be appropriate. It was found that there was a significant causal relationship between the viewing experience of sports violence and the violent imitation behavior. Therefore, in order to reduce the imitation behavior of adolescents, it is necessary to be more careful about the production and viewing of sports violence programs at the institutions and homes that produce media.

유아의 영상미디어 시청시간과 취침시간이 집행기능곤란에미치는 영향: 유아의 채널 선택권과 부모의 제한형 미디어중재의 조절된-조절된 매개효과 (The Effect of Children's Screen Media Time on Bedtime and Executive Function Difficulties: A Moderated-Moderated Mediation Effect of Children's Media Content Selection and Parental Restrictive Media Mediation)

  • Objective: This study aimed to investigate the moderated-moderated mediating effects of children's media content selection and parental restrictive media mediation on the relationship between children's screen media time and executive function difficulties. Methods: A total of 693 parents of children aged 5~6 years participated in this study and were asked to answer all survey questions. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using SPSS 27.0. Model 11 of PROCESS macro 4.3 was used to examine the moderated-moderated mediation model. Children's gender, age, childcare enrollment status, and household income were included in the analyses as covariates. Results: The moderated-moderated mediating effects of children's media content selection and parental restrictive media mediation were found to be significant. Specifically, bedtime mediated the relationship between screen media time and executive function difficulties only when parents did not appropriately implement restrictive mediation and children freely selected media content. Conclusion/Implications: It is recommended that parents understand the importance of implementing restrictive media mediation and selecting appropriate media contents for their child to prevent executive function difficulties in early childhood. Also, child education or day-care centers should offer education program about appropriate media use to reach more parents.

AHP 기법을 적용한 SNS 품질요인 및 SNS 매체 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on The Evaluation for Quality Factors of SNS and SNS Media by Using AHP)

  • 현재 사회생활에서 SNS 매체는 이미 사람들이 가장 많은 이용한 소통방식의 하나가 되었다. 통신기술에 발전에 따라 다양한 기능성을 갖고 있는 SNS 매체 개발을 통해 사람들의 일상 커뮤니케이션을 더 편리하게 만들면서 사람들은 이런 SNS 매체에 대한 의존도도 점점 높아져가고 있다. SNS 매체의 급격한 이용자 확대 및 SNS 매체가 다양화되는 등 그 중요성이 날로 증대되고 있는 시점에서 지금까지 SNS 매체를 평가할 수 있는 방안을 제시한 연구는 아직까지 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 SNS 매체평가를 위해 적용 가능한 품질의 측정요인들을 문헌고찰하고 평가방법론으로 AHP 기법을 적용하여 SNS 매체를 평가할 수 있는 방안을 제시하며, 주요 SNS 매체를 평가하였다. 주요 SNS 매체로는 카카오톡, 트위터와 페이스북 이 세 개를 선택하고 평가하였으며, 각 SNS 매체를 평가하기 위한 AHP 프레임을 설계하였다. 설계된 프레임에 따라 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 전문가와 이용자를 대상으로 쌍대비교의 설문조사를 수행하였다. 조사결과는 Excel을 활용하여 AHP 기법의 실증 연구를 실시하였다. 본 연구결과를 보면 평가요인별 중요도를 반영한 이용자들의 만족도 점수를 종합한 결과 우선순위는 카카오톡이 1위로 나타났고, 2위는 페이스북, 3위는 트위터 순으로 나타났다. SNS 매체의 품질 평가시 시스템품질, 정보품질, 인터페이스품질, 서비스품질 등의 상위요인에서 가장 중요도가 많이 반영된 서비스품질에 중점을 두어 개선이 이루어져야 할 것이며, 각 하위요인들의 중요도를 고려하여 각 매체별 우선 개선영역을 찾아볼 수 있을 것이다.

미디어 리터러시 함양을 위한 중학교 가정과 교수·학습 과정안 개발: 핵심개념 '관계' 관련 단원을 중심으로 (Development of Teaching-Learning Plans of Middle School Home Economics for Media Literacy: Focusing on Core Concept of 'Relationship')

  • 이 연구의 목적은 가정과교육을 통해 미디어 리터러시를 향상시키는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 2015년 개정 가정과 교육과정의 핵심개념 '관계' 관련 단원에 대해 ADDIE 단계로 10차시의 교수·학습 과정안과 학습활동지, 수업자료를 개발하였다. 개발된 수업의 1~6차시를 실행 후 프로그램의 효과를 양적, 질적으로 분석한 결과, 참가자의 미디어 접근 능력과 미디어에 대한 비판적 이해에 통계적으로 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 그리고 자신의 생각과 감정을 표현하고 미디어를 제작하는 능력도 향상되었다. 질적 분석 결과 수업에 참여했던 학생들은 미디어 리터러시 수행목표 전반에 걸쳐 변화가 있었고 특히, '비판적 이해와 평가'에 있어서의 변화를 많이 인지하였다. 미디어 이용 윤리와 사회참여 의식도 개선된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 가정 교과에서 미디어 리터러시를 함양할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발했다는 데 의의가 있다. 가정과 교육에서 미디어 리터러시 교육의 수용성 향상, 가정과 교사의 미디어 리터러시 교육 전문성 제고, 현장의 수업 개선에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

MPEG-2 Transport Stream의 Program Stream으로의 변환 및 분석 (Conversion and Analysis from MPEG-2 Transport Stream to Program Stream)

  • 디지털 방송 서비스가 보편화되면서 MPEG-2, DVB 및 ATSC Transport Stream의 사용이 확산되고 있다. 수신된 방송 Transport Stream(TS)은 TS 그대로 이용하거나 Program Stream(PS)로 변환한 후 저장하여 이용한다. DVD같은 디지털 저장매체에는 PS가 사용되므로 디지털 방송을 수신하여 이를 DVD나 DVD-RAM과 같은 저장 매체에 저장하려면 TS를 저장용 Stream인 PS로 변환하여 저장하여야 DVD Player와 같은 매체 재생기에서 이를 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 TS를 PS로 변환하고 변환된 TS와 PS를 분석하여 얻어진 변환 및 변환 후의 여러 결과들을 비교 분석하여 보여준다.
