The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationship between media engagement, viewing immersion, viewing satisfaction, and loyalty of e-sports viewers. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a survey was conducted on 300 college students with experience in watching e-sports in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungnam. Data processing was done with SPSS 26 for frequency analysis, Cronbach's α analysis. Also, AMOS 13 was used for confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis. We have the following results. first, among the sub-factors of media engagement, functional engagement and communal engagement had a significant effect on viewing commitment. Second, among the sub-factors of media engagement, emotional engagement had a significant effect on viewing satisfaction. Third, it was found that viewing commitment and viewing satisfaction had a significant effect on loyalty. From the results of this study, it can be seen that the media engagement of e-sports viewers affects loyalty through viewing commitment and viewing satisfaction.
This paper proposes the presence and importance of cultural differences to address user engagement in worldwide social media platforms. Based on Hofstede's cultural dimensions, this paper addresses their new meanings in the context of user engagement in social media. Our propositions address two research questions: (1) how do cultural dimensions, displayed on social media platforms, differ across national cultures?; (2) what different preferences the social media platforms have in terms of which cultural dimensions promote or suppress user engagement? User engagement in social media platforms is explained by the cultural differences in terms of the four cultural dimensions: individualism vs. collectivism, uncertainty avoidance, power distance, and masculinity vs. femininity. Implications are also discussed for research and practice.
This study develops and empirically tests a comprehensive model of consumers' brand page experiences that illuminates dynamics among perceived values (practical value, stimulation, enjoyment, and social identification), brand page engagement dimensions (cognitive engagement, affective engagement, and behavioral engagement) and brand loyalty. An online survey was employed for data collection. We collected 358 usable responses for data analysis. Structural equation modeling results show that three dimensions of perceived values (practical value, perceived enjoyment, and social identification) positively affect brand engagement dimensions, while perceived stimulation affects affective engagement only. As for the roles of brand page engagement, affective and behavioral engagement positively influence brand loyalty. This study demonstrates how consumers' perceived values of brand page experience influence each dimension of brand page engagement and how each dimension has a different impact on brand loyalty. The results of this study provide substantive contributions to the consumers' brand page experience and engagement literature and brand page management on social media for developing brand loyalty.
The aim of this study was to examine the role of celebrity's traits on food service enterprises' media engagement, advertising effect (AD effect) and purchasing intention. Based on advance research, structural model of relationship between celebrity's traits and media engagement, AD effect and promotion of purchase was developed among the proposed constructs. Few empirical studies have been conducted to test the model. Date collection of study was from June 1st, 2017 to June 30th, distributing total of 300 issues and collecting total of 290 issues. Total of 271 questionnaires were used as the final analysis data as the nineteen questionnaires included missing information. The results can be summarized as follows: Celebrity's Traits significantly affected media engagement, AD effect and purchasing intentions. More specifically, mediating effect among the celebrity's traits and AD effect which came from media engagement was valid only if the subject of advertising effectiveness was on brands attitude. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications were discussed to make one conclusion. As the media engagement was identified as a mediator between celebrity's traits and AD effect, certain brands which tend to enhance their AD effectivity should liaison proper celebrity.

These findings highlight the importance of companies enhancing brand authenticity and self-brand connection to drive customer engagement, with theoretical and practical implications provided.

This study investigates the influence of consumer needs pertaining to brand social media pages on the consumer brand attachment formation process. We collected 278 valid responses from females who have experienced the food brands' social media pages. Following the data analysis, we developed the results as follows. First, we examined the significant influence of attachment to brand social media page needs and socialization needs on consumer content consumption engagement and content contribution engagement on brand social media pages. Then we determined that consumer engagement significantly influenced consumer brand attachment. Finally, we found consumer consumption engagement exerted a significant mediation effect on the relationship between consumer needs and brand attachment. Based on the results, we outlined the potential theoretical and marketing strategy implications of this research.
This study investigates perceived social presence, perceived interactivity, perceived enjoyment, and perceived trust as antecedents of consumer engagement. We measured the attitudinal and behavioral brand loyalty as consequences of consumer engagement in social media. Our findings suggest that perceptions of social presence, enjoyment, and trust are significantly related to consumer engagement. Conversely, perceived interactivity has no positive influence on consumer engagement. In addition, consumer engagement is found to have a significant impact on both attitudinal and behavioral brand loyalty. The study revealed that, in the modified model, covariance paths among the proposed antecedents of consumer engagement (namely the perceived social presence, interactivity, enjoyment, and trust) are statistically significant. In this paper, we also discuss limitations of the study and future research.

As more consumers are interested in sustainability issues and evaluate brands based on their social responsibility issues involved, firms are using social media platforms in order to communicate with consumers about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. However, the current literature focuses mostly on factors drive engagement of promotional messages, while little evidence was found in the literature on how to design effective CSR messages on social media to engage consumers. Using over 3,000 branded posts on Facebook and Twitter, this research explores factors that help CSR messages become more engaging in social media. The results show that, on average, CSR messages had a negative significant effect on consumer engagement. However, CSR messages became more engaging when designed with emotional appeals, longer texts, and a hashtag. While marginal, CSR messages with informational appeals and humor undermined the effect of CSR messages on engagement. Finally, we explore different types of CSR messages by their beneficiary scope and the role of brands in the message and discuss what message contents drive more engagement in social media. This research contributes to the academic literature and managers by providing new insights on how to design CSR messages for effective communications in social media.
In order to understand meaningful customer experience in social media, this study profiles customer engagement by exposing the essential brand experience rooms in hyper-reality contexts. This study selects Snuggie as a target brand as it uses multiple contact points, including social media, to provide meaningful experience to customers. With their unique marketing strategy, Snuggie became a popular brand among the U. S. customers beyond just a wearable blanket. Upon analyzing a total of 364 customer reviews about Snuggie in Amazon.com, five experience rooms were exposed; "Physical artifacts" and "customer involvement" are influential experience rooms which signify interactions between products and customers, while "intangible artifacts", "technology" and "customer placement" reflect a lower degree of experiential engagement. This approach suggests a theoretical foundation in understanding the customer engagement concepts by the means of brand experience dimensions in social media. The ability to create compelling engagement in social media depends on the successful facilitation of relationships and information, which lead to a creative, communicative and interactive experience.
