유선망과 무선망간의 끊김없는 서비스를 지원하기 위한 핸드오버 절차 (A Handover Procedure for Seamless Service Support between Wired and Wireless Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 유선망과 무선망간의 끊김없는 연결과 QoS 지원을 위해 네트웍 기반의 Low Latency 핸드오버 절차를 제안한다. 주 기능은 서버와 단말로 구성되며, 서버는 네트웍의 상황과 사용자의 선호도들을 고려하여 핸드오버를 위한 최선의 타겟 네트웍을 미리 평가하고 결정하여 두며, 단말은 서버에 의해 결정된 무선망과 링크 연결 뿐만 아니라 CoA로 사용할 IP 주소를 미리 받아두는 역할을 수행한다. 만약 유선망에서 예고없이 연결이 해제되는 등의 원인에 의해 핸드오버가 요구되면 서버는 MIH (media independent handover) 방법을 이용하여 물리계층의 핸드오버 트리거를 서버로 전송하고 이를 받은 서버는 직접 게이트웨이로 바인딩 업데이트를 수행함으로써 핸드오버 지연시간을 줄일 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

  • 가상 환경 시스템의 대표적인 응용인 MMORPG에서는 아주 많은 사용자들이 더욱 현실적인 환경에서 게임하기를 원하고 있다. 하지만 많은 사용자에게 가상 환경을 서비스하면서 응답 지연이 없는 Seamless한 환경을 제공하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 하나의 서버가 아닌 여러 대의 서버로 실제 환경을 구성해야 하고 사용자가 특정 지역으로 이동할 때 실제 서버에서 데이터를 공유해야 하는 상황이 발생하기 때문이다. 이때 사용자는 서버 간 정보 동기화 과정에서 응답 지연을 경험하게 되고 이러한 상황은 가상 환경의 현실감을 떨어뜨린다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 서버 간 정보 동기화 과정에서 발생하는 응답 지연을 최소화해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 가상 환경에 대한 정보를 제공하는 필드 서버 간의 효율적인 정보 동기화 및 필드 서버와 PC(Player Character) 간의 응답 지연 최소화를 위한 마이그레이션 에이전트를 제안하고 클라우드 컴퓨팅 네트워크에서 구현하였다. 제안한 시스템은 PC의 수가 70,000 ~ 90,000인 구간에서 기존 시스템보다 필드 서버의 CPU 이용률이 6 ~ 13% 증가하였고 응답 시간은 5 ~ 10초 감소하였다.

  • Recently, as the development of 3D contents service, production of 4D media that user can feel physical effects by the scene of movie has been increased. This 4D media uses the SMMD (Single Media Multiple Devices) method to give users enhanced effects with multiple devices playing rather than the SMSD (Single Media Single Device) method with single device playing in a smart TV environment. To give more sensible effects to users, from the beginning of making one media, we produced 4D media that consists of 3D contents and the SEM (Sensory Effect Metadata) to define effects of the scene. 4D media is transmitted to a HS (Home Server) to represent 3D contents in 3DTV and multiple devices with synchronized way. In this paper, we suggested the concept and overall 4D media broadcasting service system architecture, aggregator time acquisition, media time scheduling, real-sense device scheduling, evaluation results, user interfaces and implemented devices.

  • This paper proposes the system and method for converting the contents based on DLNA. Digital Media Controller (DMC) compares the media format of content which Digital Media Server (DMS) provides with the media format which Digital Media Renderer (DMR) supports and then, the content is converted dynamically. The interaction between home devices can make a conversion of contents dynamically and it enables people to enjoy the multimedia contents they like to watch whenever/wherever they want.

A Personal Videocasting System with Intelligent TV Browsing for a Practical Video Application Environment

  • In this paper, a video broadcasting system between a home-server-type device and a mobile device is proposed. The home-server-type device can automatically extract semantic information from video contents, such as news, a soccer match, and a baseball game. The indexing results are utilized to convert the original video contents to a digested or arranged format. From the mobile device, a user can make recording requests to the home-server-type devices and can then watch and navigate recorded video contents in a digested form. The novelty of this study is the actual implementation of the proposed system by combining the actual IT environment that is available with indexing algorithms. The implementation of the system is demonstrated along with experimental results of the automatic video indexing algorithms. The overall performance of the developed system is compared with existing state-of-the-art personal video recording products.

  • Many advanced products and services are emerging in the market thanks to data-based technologies such as Internet (IoT), Big Data, and AI. The construction of a system for data processing under the IoT network environment is not simple in configuration, and has a lot of restrictions due to a high cost for constructing a high performance server environment. Therefore, in this paper, we will design a development environment for large data analysis computing platform using open source with low cost and practicality. Therefore, this study intends to implement a big data processing system using Raspberry Pi, an ultra-small PC environment, and open source API. This big data processing system includes building a portable server system, building a web server for web mining, developing Python IDE classes for crawling, and developing R Libraries for NLP and visualization. Through this research, we will develop a web environment that can control real-time data collection and analysis of web media in a mobile environment and present it as a curriculum for non-IT specialists.

  • This research is on an interactive animation prototype which can be used by many users from different computers, that means a network with one server and many clients. In our research, a complete motion is represented by simple motion characteristics. We establish databases which contain all kinds of human motion characteristics. Using flexible connection and appropriate time control, we are able to recompose a sequential serial motion data. Moreover, an interactive application system is needed among the uses with a server from animator. In this research, we also investigate three methods of“connect motion database”. We are planing to use the method of connecting motion database under networks with a client-server application system.

  • This Paper is implementing IPMP system based on Server/client Structured Linux. We referenced OpenIPMP System, which is a reference software of IPMP (Intellectual Property Management and Protection) solution. Using this system, we developed multimedia contents service providing system using MPEG-21's REL(XML), which is applicable to new media service environment.

  • In recent years, data privacy has become increasingly important. The goal of network cryptography is to protect data while it is being transmitted over the internet or a network. Social media and smartphone apps collect a lot of personal data which if exposed, might be damaging to privacy. As a result, sensitive data is exposed and data is shared without the data owner's consent. Personal Information is one of the concerns in data privacy. Protecting user data and sensitive information is the first step to keeping user data private. Many applications user data can be found on other websites. In this paper, we discuss the issue of privacy and suggest a mechanism for keeping user data hidden in other applications.

클러스터드 VOD 서버에서 가변 비트율을 고려한 스트라이핑 정책 (A Striping Strategy Considering Variable Bit Rate in Clustered VOD Servers)

  • In a VOD server, media data are usually encoded by VBR compression technique such as MPEG, therefore, media stream rates vary. We propose a striping strategy called VCS considering VBR compression in Clustered VOD servers. Simulation are conducted to evaluate and compare the new strategy with a known striping strategy. The results show that the VCS strategy improves the performance.
