The propose of this study analyze an expression method of a surface in commercial buildings, and it is to show an example of a surface design in Manhattan. In particular, I focus on the following three categories : representation element of surface image : materials and structure method, the property of transparency, and an electronic surface and media screen. Unlike the past era in which surface design in commercial buildings was viewed just as a mean ornament, it has become more important in the presently era because diverse expression technologies in surface design makes architects express there creative ideas. Besides, the diversity of surface design expands the concept of cultural space as it provides various graphic element that human desire for multi-cultures. So diversity of surface will accelerate.

In order to increase system capacity and reduce the transmitting power of the user's equipment, we propose an advanced power control scheme consisting of a modified open-loop power control (OLPC) and closed-loop power control (CLPC) for land mobile satellite communication systems. The improved CLPC scheme, combining delay compensation algorithms and pilot diversity, is mainly applied to the ancillary terrestrial component (ATC). ATC link in urban areas, because it is more suitable to the short round-trip delay (RTD).

The microbial diversity in soil ecosystems is higher than in any other microbial ecosystem. The majority of soil microorganisms has not been characterized, because the dominant members have not been readily culturable on standard cultivation media; therefore, the soil ecosystem is a great reservoir for the discovery of novel microbial enzymes and bioactivities. The soil metagenome, the collective microbial genome, could be cloned and sequenced directly from soils to search for novel microbial resources. This review summarizes the microbial diversity in soils and the efforts to search for microbial resources from the soil metagenome, with more emphasis on the potential of bioprospecting metagenomics and recent discoveries.

본 논문에서는 나카가미-m 페이딩 채널 환경을 가진 무선 중계 네트워크에서 reactive 누적분포함수(cumulative distribution function) 기반 중계기 선택 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 수신 신호대잡음비(signal-to-noise ratio)의 누적분포함수 값에 따라 중계기를 선택한다. 본 논문에서는 제안한 기법의 불능 확률(outage probability)과 다이버시티 차수(diversity order)를 분석한다. 제안된 기법이 얻을 수 있는 다이버시티 차수는 중계기의 개수와 페이딩 파라미터에 의해 결정되며 최대 다이버시티(full diversity)를 얻음을 볼 수 있다. 그리고 모의 실험에서는 분석된 불능 확률 및 다이버시티 차수가 정확하게 일치하는 것을 확인한다.

Recently, IPTV attracts great attention along with the digital convergence of communication and media technologies. This study examined critical factors on the consumer's continued use of the IPTV service. Based on the expectation-confirmation theory and the innovation diffusion theory, we derived nine key factors in the research model-relative advantage, compatibility, ease of use, image, diversity of contents, interactivity, monetary value, social influence, and user satisfaction. Using the partial least square method, we found that content diversity and compatibility have a significant indirect effect on the continued use of the IPTV service via user satisfaction, and user satisfaction and social influence also have a significant direct impact on the IPTV use. These findings not only provide practical insights on the consumer acceptance of new technology-converging services, but also help managers to plan their marketing strategies better.

The 2020 US Presidential Election was a highly-anticipated moment for our global society. During the election period, the most intriguing issue was who would be the winner-Trump or Biden? Among the possible main themes of the 2020 election, from the COVID-19 pandemic to racism, this study focused on feminism ('women') as a main component of Biden's victory. To explore the character of Biden's supporters, this paper focused on internet spaces as a source of public opinion. To guide the data analysis, this study employed four indices from empirical studies on Big Data analytics: issue salience, attention diversity, emotional mentioning, and semantic cohesion. The main finding of this study was that the representative keyword 'women' appeared more prevalently within content related to Biden than Trump, and the keyword pairs indicated that female voters were the main reason for Trump's failure but the root cause of Biden's victory. The results of this study indicated the role of the internet as a forum for public opinion and a fountain of political knowledge, which requires more rigorous investigation by researchers.

The bacterial diversity of an Antarctic hard coral, Errina fissurata, was examined by isolating bacterial colonies from crushed coral tissue and by sequencing their 16S rRNA gene. From the analyzed results, the bacteria were classified as Actinobacteria (56%), Firmicutes (35%) and Proteobacteria (9%). The thirty-four isolates were cultured in liquid media at different temperatures and their growth was assessed over time. The majority of the isolates displayed their highest growth rate at 25℃ during the first three days of cultivation, even though the coral was from a cold environment. Nevertheless, strains showing their highest growth rate at low temperatures (15℃ and 4℃) were also found. This study reports the composition of an Antarctic hard coral-associated culturable bacterial community and their growth behavior at different temperatures.

Two surveys for exploring communicative paths toward political participation were conducted with relatively large samples of Americans (N = 1001) and South Koreans (N = 1166). Hierarchical regression modeling of the relationships among demographics, personal networks, news consumption, and cross-cutting discussion and political participation demonstrated mostly commonalities between the two samples, including the interaction between political diversity and Twitter usage for news access but with distinct effect sizes of cross-cutting discussion on political participation. We attribute the differences to the two countries' distinct histories of democracy and culture, and the commonalities to the general relationships between cross-cutting discussion and political participation moderated by strong ties political homogeneity.

본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 Systems 기반 복수시점 영상 서비스를 위한 저작 기술에 대해 제안한다. MPE-4는 이전의 MPEG-l/2 등의 비디오 정보 압축 규격과 달리, 사용자와 콘텐츠 간의 객체 기반 대화형(interactivity) 기능에 대한 다양한 방법을 포함하고 있다. 따라서 MPEG-4 Systems 규격은 현재까지 개발된 표준들 중에서 복수시점 영상 서비스가 제공하려고 하는 목적에 가장 잘 부합하는 기능을 제공하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 Systems 표준 기술을 기반으로 제공될 수 있는 복수시점 영상 서비스에 대해 기술하였고, 해당 서비스를 제공하기 위한 MPEG가 장면 기술(scene description) 프로파일을 제안하였다. 또한 제안된 프로파일에 기반을 둔 대화형 복수시점 영상콘텐츠 저작시스템을 설계하고 구현하였으며, 실험결과를 통해 그 가능성을 보여 주었다.

본 연구는 오픈 소스 플랫폼인 아두이노를 결합한 센서 기반 미디어 설치 제작에서의 인터랙션 설계 유형에 대한 것이다. 구현한 미디어 설치 작품들을 유형화하여 센서기반의 미디어아트 표현 방식의 다양성과 그 의미를 모색하고자 한다. 미디어 아트의 상호작용 방식에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 센서를 이용한 미디어 설치 제작에서의 인터랙션 설계 유형을 모터 제어를 통한 물리적 움직임, 초음파 센서와 모터을 활용한 '인공식물, 빛, 사운드 센서 활용한 '가상정원', 기울기 센서를 통한 무빙이미지, 4가지로 분류한다. 이를 통해 미디어 소프트웨어가 작업에 적합한 기술로 선택할 수 있고 다양한 표현으로 진화하고 있는 예술 표현의 사례로 제시될 수 있을 것으로 본다.
