유성 볼밀법을 이용한 탄소 도핑 가시광 활성 TiO2 광촉매 제조 및 이의 특성 평가 (Preparation of C Doped TiO2 Photocatalyst Activating to Visible Irradiation and Investigation of Its Photocatalytic Activity)

  • A carbon doped $TiO_2$ (C-$TiO_2$) photocatalyst, which shows good photocatalytic activity to Ultraviolet irradiation and visible irradiation, was successfully prepared by co-grinding of $TiO_2$ with ethanol or Activated Carbon(C), followed by heat treatment at $200^{\circ}C$ in air for 60 min. Ethanol and C were used as a representative agent of liquid and solid for carbon doping. Their influence on improving photocatalytic ability and carbon doping degree was studied with degradation of methyl orange and XPS analysis. The product prepared by co-grinding of $TiO_2$ with Ethanol had Ti-C and C-O chemical bonds and showed higher photocatalytic activity than the product prepared by co-grinding of $TiO_2$ with C, where just C-O chemical bond existed. As a result, mechanochemical route is useful to prepare a carbon doped $TiO_2$ photocatalyst activating to visible irradiation, where the solid-liquid operation is more effective than solid-solid operation to obtain a carbon doped $TiO_2$.

  • As an pretreatment, a Fe$(NO_3)_3{\cdot}9H_2O-Al(OH)_3$mixture was ground by a high energy mill and used as a supported catalyst for the growth of carbon nanotubes by a thermal CVD. The crystal structure of the catalyst disordered by the grinding influenced significantly the synthesis of carbon nanotubes in a thermal CVD.

  • CNTs have been grown by the thermal CVD process in which $C_{2}H_{2}$ gas was deposited on the Fe - $Al(OH)_3$ mixture pretreated by mechanochemical treatment with a high energy mixer mill. As the duration time of grinding fer $Fe-(Al(OH)_3$ mixture by the mixer mill increased, amorphous $Al(OH)_3$ and more smaller Fe particles agglomerated into spheres. With unground and ground mixtures of $Fe-Al(OH)_3$, CNTs were grown at $700^{\circ}C$. As a result, CNTs grown on ground mixtures have more uniform diameter and morphology than those of unground mixture. The characterization of $Fe-Al(OH)_3$ mixture and as-grown CNTs were done by XRD, SEM and TEM.

  • Lanthanum oxyfluoride can be synthesized by mechanochemical (MC) reaction between lanthanum oxide ($La_2O_3$) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, ($({CF_2CF_2}_n)$) in air using a planetary mill. MC reaction between the two materials induced from intensive grinding operation. The MC reaction is almost finished by 240min, and the products ground for 240min or more are composed of LaOF, amorphous $La(CO_3)F$ and amorphous carbon (C). Heating this MC reaction products at $600^{\circ}C$ enables us to eliminate amorphous C and decompose $La(CO_3)F$ into LaOF, so that pure LaOF material can be obtained as the final product. The average particle size of the final product (purified LaOF) is around few ten nanometers.

Carbon Nanofibers Prepared with Ni-MgO Catalyst Treated by Mechanochemical Process and Their Application as Catalyst Support Material for PEMEC

  • Mixture of $Ni(OH)_2-Mg(OH)_2$ used as the precurs was treated by mechnochemical(MC) and hand grinding process. Carbon nanofibers(CNF) were prepared using CVD process with the above prepared catalyst. CNFs with a uniform diameter were obtained with MC process treated catalyst, and the diameter could be controlled by tuning the grinding time. CNF bundles with close coalescence were produced with MC treated catalyst. After purification of CNFs and loading with Pt, they were used in fuel cell as the cathode catalyst support. The performance with carbon nanofibers prepared using ground mixture was found to be better than that prepared using unground mixture, which is attributed to the homogeneous CNFs with small diameter and specific interaction between Pt and CNFs.

  • The new process in order to fabricate of Ni catalyst with high activity by the mechanochemical(MC) method which was combined the mechanical alloying(MA) and the chemical treatment process. The microstructure and characterization of mechanically alloyed Ni-5-wt% Al powder and Ni catalyst gained by alkali leaching were investigated byt he various analysis such as XRD, SEM-EDS, HRTEM and laser particle analyzer. The steady state powder with 1~2$\mu\textrm{m}$ mean particle size was obtained after 30hr milling with the PCA of 2 wt% stearic acid under the condition of grinding stainless steel ball to powder ratio of 60:1 and rotating speed fo 300rpm. According to result of HRTEM diffraction pattern, MA powder of the steady state was nanocrystalline $Al_3$$Ni_2$ intermetallic compound. Ni catalyst was obtained after KOH leaching of the steady state powder was about 20nm nanocrystalline which contained about 8 wt % Al.

고강도 혼합분쇄 처리에 의한 인운모로부터 리튬의 수 침출 특성 (Extraction of Lithium from Lepidolite through Intensive Grinding with Calcium Sulfate Hemihydrate Followed by Water Leaching)

  • 중액선별(HMS, heavy medium separation)을 통해 회수된 인운모(lepidolite) 정광(Li: 2.3%)으로부터 리튬을 수 침출하기 위해 황산칼슘 반수화염(CSH, calcium sulfate hemihydrate, $CaSO_4{\cdot}1/2H_2O$)과 혼합분쇄하여 기계화학적 효과를 연구하였다. 인운모를 CSH와 함께 고강도 분쇄한 결과, 리튬의 침출율이 4.48%에서 93.5%로 급격히 증가하였다. 이는 고강도 혼합분쇄 과정 중 발생되는 기계화학적 효과로 인해 결정구조가 파괴되면서 인운모와 CSH의 혼합물이 새로운 화합물로 형성되어 나타난 결과로 판단된다. 결과적으로 인운모로부터 상온에서 리튬의 수 침출이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • 금-은 함유 황화광물 정광으로부터 Au와 Ag를 용출시키기 위하여 황화광물 정광을 건식과 습식으로 전처리하였다. 전처리한 황화광물에 대하여 광물학적 연구와 티오요소 용출실험을 수행하였다. 평균입도와 등전위는 정광시료에서 보다 건식 전-처리 시료에서 낮게 나타났고, 건식 전-처리 시료 보다 습식 전-처리 시료에서 더 낮게 나타났다. XRD 분석결과, 습식 전-처리 시료에서만 비정질의 특성이 나타났다. 정광시료에서, 최대의 Au, Ag 용출인자는 1.0 g의 티오요소, 1.0 M의 황산제2철, 2.0 M의 황산 농도에서 그리고 $60^{\circ}C$의 용출온도에서였다. Au, Ag용출률은 건식 전-처리 시료에서 보다 습식 전-처리 시료에서 언제나 많이 그리고 빠르게 나타났다. 따라서, 향후 적당한 미분쇄 첨가제와 시간으로 전처리를 수행하고 비-시안 용매를 적용한다면 친환경적으로 Au, Ag를 용출시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
