자동차용 강판의 물성 데이터베이스 (Database of Steel Sheet for Automotive body)

  • Purpose of this paper is to accummulate database of automotive steel sheet from mild steel to high strength steel in cold rolled steel sheets. Physical properties, mainly mechanical properties, of steel sheet are tested and all data are arranged to one sheet. Methods of test are composed of FLD, tensile strength test, chemical composition, surface roughness and product conditions. Finally this database will be helpful to automotive body designers and die designers to design automotive body parts and tools in a material point of view.

  • In the modern days, a galvannealed sheet steel(GA) instead of a cold rolled steel sheet has been widely used as an alternative to extend the life of automotive body. Accordingly, the mechanical properties of GA for automobiles were taken Into account and studied by comparing with the temperature variation on annealing in this study. To clarify the effect of surface features in the mechanical properties of GA, the several tests such as nanoindentation and FE-analysis were executed. For this goal use is made of the method of neural networks. The developed neural networks apply also to obtain reliable mechanical properties of the thin films. Load-displacement curve was computed by the analysis procedure and compared with experimental results.

  • Development on the mechanical properties of steel sheet for the automobile body panel is very important in the BAF(Batch annealing furnace) annealing process. Because of the heat treatment method in the BAF, mechanical properties was decided on the heat treatment method of the coil. So, we tested on the development of mechanical properties according to heat treatment method at the annealing furnace using the Ax(H$_2$75%, $N_2$25%) atmospheric gas and the HNx(H$_2$4%, $N_2$96%) atmospheric gas. As a result of several investigations. We confirmed the following characteristics ; mechanical properties was changed under the influence of the annealing cycle, the heat treatment method and the atmospheric gas. And, elongation in the HNx BAF was better than the Ax BAF. Finally, most important thing in the BAF is using of proper annealing cycle in order to get a good quality.

  • Zn을 많이 함유하는 銅scrap(자동차용강판, Zn표면처리강판 등)을 이용하여 구상흑연주철을 제조한 경우 구상화가 제대로 이루어 지지 않았다. Sb을 많이 함유하는 銅scrap을 이용하여 구상흑연주칠을 제조한 경우에는 기지 층의 퍼얼라이트량이 증가하였다. 퍼얼라이트량이 증가하면 인장강도 및 경도는 증가하지만 연산율은 감소하였다. Mn, Cr을 많이 함유한 銅scrap(기계구조용강판, 가단주철)을 이용하여 구상흑연주출을 제조한 경우에는 피얼라이트량이 증가하였으며, 인장강도 및 경도도 증가하였다.

The developed neural networks apply also to obtain reliable mechanical properties of the thin films. Load-displacement curve was computed by the analysis procedure and compared with experimental results. The frictional characteristics of coating layers in GA were verified though nano scratch test in this study. The friction coefficient of coating layers on the surface was obtained from the nano scratch. The variation of friction coefficient versus velocity and pressure was taken into consideration in this paper.

  • The formability of an automobile body panel is very important. So, we performed an annealing condition change for the development of annealing condition with temperature, atmospheric gas and the annealing cycle. Formability was changed under the influenced of the mechanical properties of steel sheet for the automobile body panel. Therefore, ot os important in the BAF(Batch annealing furnace) annealing process. Because mechanical properties were decided on the heat treatment method of the coil. So, we tested the development of mechanical properties according to the heat treatment method at the annealing furnace using the Ax atmospheric gas and the HNx atmospheric gas. As a result of several investigations, we confirmed the following characteristics ; mechanical properties change under the influence of the annealing cycle and atmospheric gas.

To clarify the effect of surface features on the mechanical and frictional properties of GA, the several tests such as nanoindentation, Vickers hardness and nano scratch test were executed. The frictional characteristics of coating layers of GA were examined through nano scratch test in this study. The friction coefficient of coating layers on the surface was obtained from the nano scratch. The variation of friction coefficient versus velocity and pressure was taken into consideration in this paper. Hardness and elastic modulus of coating layer were increased as increasing annealing temperature.

  • Cold rolled steel sheet for automotive was treated by Ar/$O_2$ atmospheric pressure plasma to improve the adhesive bonding strength. Through the contact angle test and calculation of surface free energy for cold rolled steel sheet, the changes of surface properties were investigated before and after plasma treatment. The contact angle was decreased and surface free energy was increased after plasma treatment. And the change of surface roughness and morphology were observed by AFM(Atomic Force Microscope). The surface roughness of steel sheet was slightly changed. Based on Taguchi method, single lap shear test was performed to investigate the effect of experimental parameter such as plasma power, treatment time and flow rate of $O_2$ gas. Results shows that the bonding strength of steel sheet treated in Ar/$O_2$ atmospheric pressure plasma was improved about 20% compared with untreated sheet.

  • Recently the usage of galvanealed steel sheet was increased in order to protect corrosion in automobile industry. So, the alternative of steel sheet was investigated in a point of formability. Generally it was known that uncoated steel sheet has better mechanical properties than coated steel sheet. But, contrary results were sometimes occurred in workplace. This reason is the effect of friction. In this study, the formability of steel sheet considering friction characteristics was investigated with tensile test, cup drawing test and finite element method.

So, we tested on the development of mechanical properties according to heat treatment method at the annealing furnace using the In atmospheric gas($H_2$ : 75%, $N_2$ : 25%) and the HNx atmospheric gas($H_2$ : 5%, $N_2$ : 95%) We confirmed the following characteristics, mechanical properties were changed under the influence of the annealing cycle and the atmospheric gas. And, we have some result according to heat treatment method. Elongation of the mechanical properties in the HNx BAF is higher than the Ax BAF. But tensile strength and hardness is higher than the HNx BAF.
