  • Condition based maintenance(CBM) for the preventive diagnosis of important equipments related to safety or accident in power plant is essential by using the suitable methods based on actual power plant conditions. To improve the reliability and accuracy of the measured value at the minute leak situation, and also to monitor continuously internal leak condition of power plant valve, the development of a diagnosis and monitoring technique using multi-measuring method should be performed urgently. This study was conducted to estimate the feasibility of multi-measuring method using three different methods such as acoustic emission(AE) method, thermal image measurement and temperature difference$({\Delta}T)$ measurement that are applicable to internal leak diagnosis for the power plant valve. From the experimental results, it was suggested that the multi-measuring method could be an effective way to precisely diagnose and evaluate internal leak situation of valve.

  • This paper describes the development of a scale for measuring top management commitment towards continual quality performance improvement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). A set of self-assessment questions of the ISO 9004: 2000 Standard was used to assess the adoption status of quality management practices. This paper investigates the inter-item reliability and the content validity of the Quality Management Principles Scale (QMPS) in an integrated improvement process in SMEs. An empirical study was conducted to acquire senior management views on the use of the QMPS in manufacturing sectors in Trinidad and Tobago. Based on 328 responses from 110 SMEs, statistical software packages were used to analyse the empirical data and determine the reliability and validity of the QMPS. The paper contributes to develop a self-assessment scale that can be used to measure top management commitment. It is anticipated that the findings would provide practical insights for evaluating the levels of maturity on performance improvement in SMEs.

  • The development of this inventory for measuring the parenting self-efficacy of Korean mothers took place in Seoul with 473 mothers of 5th and 6th grade children. Means, %, ${\chi}^2$, Cramer's V, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, Split-half Reliability, factor analysis and Pearson's r were used for data analysis. Five parenting self-efficacy factors were extracted from the 37 items developed for this study. Subscales were General Parenting Self-Efficacy, Health, Communication, Education, and Control. Criterion Validity of the 37 items was confirmed by a significant correlation with the Shin's parenting self-efficacy(r=.71). Internal consistency of this scale was high (Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.92$), including internal reliability of subscales. Factor validity was satisfactory at .65 - .86. These results confirm this scale as a valid and reliable measure of the parenting self-efficacy of Korean mothers.

  • It has been suggested that equity theory a social psychological theory concerned with the fairness in casual relationships should be applicable to marital relationships. This study describes the development of the scale for measuring perception of equity which measure the level of equity in marital relationships among Korean couples. PES(Perception of Equity Scale) is composed of two subscales; detailed measure of equity(DME) and global measure of equity(GME). The PES which include items from two areas of concern for intimates-pschological-emotional concern day-to-day concern-are describes. As results of test reliability of areas of DME range from .86 to .88 and reliability of GME is .92. And there are primarily evidences of construct validity of PES. Therefore PES is very reasonable scale to measure of equity/inequity perception in married couples. Finally analyzing of the level of equity in this sample husbands and wives has generally equitable relationships with their partn rs. Another findings suggest that husbands are overbenefited of their patners through marriage whereas wives are not.

  • Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Sensors as advanced measuring system are introduced and actively being applied to establish a smart monitoring system for bridge maintenance. This study develops FBG sensors and suggests a smart monitoring system. As for its first step, to verify the reliability of FBG sensors that developed, a specimen is made FBG sensors and electric sensor are attached. Then, Static test is conducted on the specimen on the specimens to check reliability. In addition, this study estimates the optimum deflection curve that converts strain curve data measured by FBG sensors into deflection.

  • Many researchers have proved that risk measurement of information systems is a very effective tool for improving confidence of information systems. However, information system risk in Korea still includes many subjective judgements. This study deals with applying a quantitative model to improve risk measurement of information system quality. First of all, we have come up with solutions to improve the evaluation efficiency on risk measurement. We have merged the risk guidelines of COBIT and CMM, and developed a quantified evaluation scheme that call by risk point. We have proved the validity of this model by interviews with experts and by case studies.

  • The subjects of this validation of the Antisocial Behavior Scale(ABS) consisted of 323 normal and 29 clinically referred preschoolers between the ages of four and six years. The ABS has 3 factors: oppositional/aggression, nonsocial/egoism, and inattention. Results showed high test-retest reliability(r=.83-.90). The scale discriminated between the normal and clinical groups. The first(oppositional/aggression) and the third(inattention) factors of the ABS, measuring externalizing behaviors, correlated highly with the Externalizing Problems and Attention Problems Scales of the Korean Version of Child Behavior Checklist(K-CBCL). The second(nonsocial/egoism) factor of the ABS, measuring emotional areas correlated highly with the Emotional Liability Scale of the K-CBCL.

  • To reduce the maintenance expence, and the possibility of electric outage and accident, accurate measurement should be carried. But the classical method has some problems in the aspect of man power, reliability, and expence. In this paper, we propose a new type apparatus, which could detect the degree of contamination on insulators on outdoor insulation system, such as transmission and distribution line insulator and bushing. The new type apparatus consists of Pelltier module, electrode system, and measuring part. At first leakage current detecting method was considered, then with the fault(oxidation of electrode) of that method we should propose a another method. We carried various test to prove the possiblity and reliability of the propoused apparatus. And we get some useful result with laboratory test.

  • Measuring energy burn during intensive combat sport has been a challenging concerns for a long time. In the present article, the energy consumption during combat sports is measured by use of wearable GoBe2 equipped with nanotechnology measuring devices. In this regard, 12 professional combat athletes were asked to wear GoBe2 devices during different sessions of intensive combat exercises. The curves provided by GoBe2 nano-sensor devices are further collected and analyzed for different combat durations. On the other hand, energy consumption in these athlete is calculated using other validated methods to evaluate reliability of GoBe2 wearable devices. Based on the results obtained from these experiments a multi-parameter mathematical model is presented for estimation of combat calorie consumptions. The results show that nanotechnology in these type of sensors could help in estimation of calorie consumption during combat. Moreover, the reliability of using wearable GoBe2 sensors are satisfactory except for some specific conditions. The mathematical model provides a satisfactory results based on athlete physical condition and also duration of the combat with about 8% error margin in the results.
