An Improvement of Intermodulation Characteristic of Base Station in Multimedia CDMA Mobile Communication

  • In this paper examines theoretical analysis of passive intermodulation and its methods of measurement and procedure. And based on the results of field measurement, it defines the reasons of passive intermodulation of base stations, suggests characteristics by device and methods of improvement to minimize the influence of a base station on passive intermodulation, and compares and analyzes the results of field measurement before and after the reasons are improved to secure the characteristics by device and the utility and adequacy of methods of improvement.

동적원심모형 시험을 이용한 부지응답해석 검증시 입력 지진의 결정 (Appropriate Input Earthquake Motion for the Verification of Seismic Response Analysis by Geotechnical Dynamic Centrifuge Test)

  • In order to verify the reliability of numerical site response analysis program, both soil free-field and base rock input motions should be provided. Beside the field earthquake motion records, the most effective testing method for obtaining the above motions is the dynamic geotechnical centrifuge test. However, need is to verify if the motion recorded at the base of the soil model container in the centrifuge facility is the true base rock input motion or not. In this paper, the appropriate input motion measurement method for the verification of seismic response analysis is examined by dynamic geotechnical centrifuge test and using three-dimensional finite difference analysis results. From the results, it appears that the ESB (equivalent shear beam) model container distorts downward the propagating wave with larger magnitude of centrifugal acceleration and base rock input motion. Thus, the distortion makes the measurement of the base rock outcrop motion difficult which is essential for extracting the base rock incident motion. However, the base rock outcrop motion generated by using deconvolution method is free from the distortion effect of centrifugal acceleration.

가시선 환경에서 Pilot 채널을 이용한 WCDMA 기지국의 EIRP 측정 (EIRP Measurements of WCDMA Base Station Using Pilot Channel in Line-of-Sight Environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 WCDMA 기지국에서 방사되는 유효 등방성 복사 전력(EIRP)을 가시선 환경에서 pilot 채널을 이용하여 측정하는 방법을 기술하였다. 특히, 국내 기지국 검사에 적용될 수 있도록 실제 운용 중인 기지국을 대상으로 측정하였다. 측정된 결과와 Friis 전송 공식에 의해 추정된 EIRP 예측값과 송신 안테나 정보를 이용한 EIRP 계산값을 비교한 결과, -2 dB의 편차를 갖는 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 -2 dB 편차는 실험용 기지국 안테나로 확인한 결과, 편파 부정합에 의한 것으로 판별되어 제거할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 측정 방법을 활용하면 WCDMA 기지국 검사 시 기존의 공중선 전력으로 검사하는 방법 이외에 EIRP를 직접 측정하여 검사할 수 있다.

  • 운용중인 기지국에서 각종 RF 파라미터의 측정은 매우 제한적으로 이루어지고 있으며, 일부 수행되고 있는 측정에서 조차 비교적 측정이 용이한 순방향 항목에 집중되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기지국에 설치된 순방향 모니터링 포트를 이용하여 기지국의 역방향의 무선 품질을 측정이 기능한 측정장치를 설계하여 실제 운용 중인 기지국에서 검증시험을 실시함으로써 연구의 완성도 향상을 꾀하였다. 수신감도의 측정은 내장된 CDMA 모뎀을 이용하여 기지국과 음성호가 연결된 상태에서 폐루프 전력제어에 의한 모뎀의 출력을 감시함으로써 이루어질 수 있도록 하였다. 보다 정확한 계측을 위하여 모뎀의 TxAdj 파라미터와 함께 디텍터에 의한 실측 데이터를 이용하였다. 정확한 수신감도의 측정을 위해서는 트래픽이 없는 상황에서 측정이 이루어져야 하지만, 운용중인 시스템에서는 상황재현이 어려우므로 통화량 증가에 의한 수신감도의 열화정도를 보상함으로써 시간에 구애받지 않고 정확한 측정값을 얻을 수 있도록 $E_c/I_o$에 의한 보상기법을 적용하였다.

연약지반상 팽이기초 적용에 따른 지지특성 (The Bearing Capacity of Top Base Foundations in Soft Ground)

  • Top Base Foundation(TBF) is a stabilization method for light weight structures particularly in the soft ground. It is widely used for the increment of bearing capacity and restraining settlement of foundations when the bearing capacity of ground is not enough. However, when the design values from exiting Japanese standard are compared with the observation values from the field measurement, the bearing capacity of exiting standard estimated smaller For this reason, it is necessary to establish more reasonable prediction technique considering to understand the behavior of TBF in soft ground. In this study, 1/5 scale model tests were performed in the laboratory. Also, full scale tests were carried out in order to investigate the behavior of TBF with various shapes. In addition, about 100 sites measurement data were evaluated to investigate the behavior of TBF in various ground conditions. Based on the results of the model tests and field measurement data, it was possible to establish more reasonable the bearing capacity equation of TBF considering various N-value of soil, the effect of underground water and failure shapes.

이동 통신용 기지국 환경에서 전자파 강도 노출량 측정 결과 분석 (Analysis for Measured Results in EMF Strength Exposure Level under Base Station Environment for Mobile Communication)

  • 본 논문은 전북 지역에 설치되어 있는 이동 통신 기지국 중 "전자파 강도 의무 측정 무선국" 77국과 "전자파강도 비의무 측정 무선국" 41국을 선정하여 전자파 강도를 측정하였다. 측정 결과, 전자파 강도는 전반적으로 전자파 인체 보호 기준에 비하여 매우 낮은 수준으로 나타났으며, 국민들이 이동 통신 기지국 주변에서 전자파에 대한 불안감을 가질 정도의 수준은 아니라고 생각된다. 본 논문에서는 의무 측정 무선국과 비의무 측정 무선국을 서로 분류하여 측정하고, 그 측정 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 비의무 측정 무선국의 평균값과 최대 값이 의무 측정 무선국의 측정값보다 모두 높게 나타났다. 일상 생활 주변에서 국민들이 전자파에 노출되는 강도는 무선국의 공중선 출력보다는 무선국 안테나의 접근성에 있다고 생각한다. 따라서 이동 통신용 기지국의 전자파 강도 의무 측정에 대한 법적 근거인 "전파법 시행령"에 명시되어 있는 공중선 전력(30 W 초과) 및 공중 선주의 높이(10 m 초과) 기준을 변경할 필요가 있음을 제안한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the non-destructive material evaluation method of aluminum alloy base metal matrix composite(MMC) by ultrasonics. Five aluminum base MMC specimens were fabricated in which the fractional ratios of fiber were changed from 0% to 31%. Relations among acoustic properties, microstructural features and elastic constant were compared. The ultrasonic velocity method was useful for nondestructive elastic constant measurement of composite materials, since the method had as same accuracy as conventional strain measurement method. Furthermore, velocity, attenuation and backscattering behaviors for each specimen also related to fractional ratio of fiber and these relations could utilize ultrasonic non-destructive evaluation of fiber structure in MMC.

  • Image retention is a kind of fatal shortcoming of the AC PDPs for realizing high-quality picture. In this work, the measurement method of image retention was proposed using temporal measurement of luminance, CIEXYZ tristimulus values, IR emission of reset pulse, and temperaturel. On the base of temporal measurement of luminance, CIEXYZ tristimulus value, and IR emission of reset pulse, the retention time of Ne+5%Xe gas-mixture discharge was about 2 hours after white window image. However, it was about 20 minute on the base of temporal measurement of temperature.

International high-frequency base balance benchmark study

  • A summary of the main results from an international comparative study for the high-frequency base balance is given. Two buildings were specified - a 'basic' and an 'advanced' building. The latter had more complex dynamic response with coupled modes of vibration. The predicted base moments generally showed good agreement amongst the participating groups, but less good agreement was found for the roof accelerations which are dominated by the resonant response, and subject to measurement errors for the generalized force spectra, to varying mode shape correction techniques, and different methods used for combining acceleration components.

  • This paper presents an integrated underwater navigational algorithm for unmanned underwater vehicles, using additional two-range transducers. This paper proposes a measurement model, using two range measurements, to improve the performance of an IMU-DVL (inertial measurement unit - Doppler velocity log) navigation system for long-time operation of underwater vehicles, excluding DVL measurement. Extended Kalman filter was adopted to propagate the error covariance, to update the measurement errors, and to correct the state equation when the external measurements are available. Simulation was conducted with the 6-d.o.f nonlinear numerical model of an AUV in lawn-mowing survey mode, at current flaw, where the velocity information is unavailable. Simulations illustrate the effectiveness of the integrated navigation system, assisted by the additional range measurements without DVL sensing.
