Meeting electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements can be a significant challenge for engineers designing today's electronic devices. Traditional approaches rely heavily on EMC design rules. Unfortunately, these design rules aren't based on the specific EMC requirements for a particular device, and they don't usually take into account the specific function of the circuits or the many design details that will ultimately determine whether the device is compliant. This paper describes a design methodology that relates design decisions to the product's EMC requirements. The goal of performance-based EMC design is to ensure that electronic designs meet EMC requirements the first time the product is tested. More work needs to be done before this concept reaches its full potential, but electronic system designers can already derive significant benefit by applying this approach to products currently under development.
Cardiac performances were analyzed in intact turtle heart(Amyda japonica), perfusing with turtle Ringer-Locke's solution containing various hydrogen ion concentration, at several levels of arterial and venous pressure. 1. Ventricular work increased when venous pressure, or venous filling pressure increased, and also increased when arterial pressure increased. 2. The higher the arterial pressure, the lower the cardiac to output, for arterial pressure is the resistance to the ventricular blood flow. On the other hand, in specific arterial pressure, cardiac output was proportional to the venous filling pressure. 3. Heart rates did not change significantly during the perfusion with Ringel· solution of various pH. 4. In the heart Perfused with Ringer solution of various pH, ventricular work was the highest at PH 7.6 (at 6 $cmH_2O$ arterial pressure and 8 $cmH_2O$ venous pressure, the ventricular work was 63.09m$\cdot$cm). However, within the range of pH $7.1{\sim}7.6$, there were no significant changes in cardiac output and ventricular work. Below the level of pH 7.0, ventricular work decreased to less than 56% of maximium value (at $6cmH_2O$ arterial pressure and $8cmH_2O$ venous Pressure, ventricular work was 36.0$gm{\cdot}$ at pH 7.0). At pH 7.7 ventricular work decreased to less than 48% of maximum value (ventricular work: 30.0 $gm{\cdot}$). The nature of the cardiac performance at the various arterial and venous pressures was similar to that of normal heart. 5. Turtle heart seemed to be relatively insensitive to acid-base disturbances. The mechanism of negative inotropic effect of hydrogen ion was discussed.
To study influences on the downstream, and the Gunsan harbor by setting up estuary of the Gumgang, available data which were collected from the measuring stations which were established within the river basin of which results attained are as follows: 1. The discharge can be calculated as the relationship between the discharge and precipitation in the basin is $R=4{\times}10^{-4}p^2$ or R=P-600 2. The discharge flow in to small resevoirs in the basin can be estimated as $QR=QS\frac{PR-600}{PS-600}(\frac{AR}{AS})$ 3. This daily average discharge at Kongju is 31% less than the during maximum probable discharge and that in Okcheon is 48% less than the daily maximum probable flood. 4. The maximum probable flood from the small stream in the basin can be estimated by a $Q=82.45A^{0{\cdot}464}$ 5. Sediments can be computed with Qs (suspended load)=1.41 $Q^{1{\cdot}42}$ and Qb (bed load)=165.2 $Q^{0{\cdot}705}$. 6. By setting up the specific estuary the tidal movement will be reduced to 93.6% on the average and the sedimentation is reduced to 96.0%. Upon review of overall analysis, the dead wate level of estuary of Gumgang will completely sedimented in next 30 years, therefore, the dredging work at Gunsan harbor is reduced to 73.6%, it is considered that life length will be extended about 52years taking account the existing condition.
In order to ensure that photovoltaic (PV) systems work at the maximum power point (MPP) and maximize the economic benefits, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques are normally applied to these systems. One of the most widely applied MPPT methods is the incremental conductance (INC) method. However, the choice of the step size still remains controversial. This paper presents an improved variable step size INC MPPT algorithm that uses four different step sizes. This method has the advantages of INC but with the ability to validly adjust the step size to adapt to changes of the PV's power curve. The presented algorithm also simultaneously achieves increased rapidity and accuracy when compared with the conventional fixed step size INC MPPT algorithm. In addition, the theoretical derivation and specific applications of the proposed algorithm are presented here. This method is validated by simulation and experimental results.
We intended to make the activated carbon fibers which could separate, remove and recover the volatile organic compounds of benzene, toluene, acetone and methanol. Changing activation temperature and time, large specific surface area and narrow pore distribution could be obtained. The activated carbon fibers have large adsorption capacity and selectivility for those organic compounds. We characterized the adsorption capability of the activated carbon fibers for benzene, toluene, acetone and methanol by BET specific surface area and pore size and micropore volume measurements. In the result of activation, the maximum value of BET specific surface area of the fibers was $1100\m^2$/g at $800^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes and $K_2$O was reduced actively in this condition. Their average pore size was 5.8~5.9$\AA$. The activated carbon fibers prepared in this work had high adsorption rate to saturation and the selectibility for the above organic compounds. The adsorbed amount of acetone and methanol(diameter of$ 4.3\AA$ and $4.4\AA$ respectively) which are smaller than micropore diameter in size was 43~49%, which was larger value than benzene and toluene(in the same diameter as $5.9\AA$).
Novel $SnO_2$ mixed biochar composite was prepared from banana peel developed as electrode material for supercapacitor using simple chemical co-precipitation method. The physiochemical and morphological properties of activated composite $SnO_2$ mixed biochar were investigated with XRD, FTIR, UV-vis, FESEM and HRTEM. The composite accounts for outstanding electrochemical behavior such as high specific capacitance, significant rate capability and leading to good cycle retention up to 3500 cycles when used as electrode material for supercapacitors. Highly permeable $SnO_2$ mixed biochar derived from banana peel exhibited maximum specific capacitance of $465F\;g^{-1}$ at a scan rate of $10mV\;s^{-1}$ by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and $476Fg^{-1}$ at current density of $0.15Ag^{-1}$ by charge discharge studies significantly higher about 47% than previously reported identical work on banana peel biochar.

A ${\beta}$-ionone-resistant mutant strain isolated from the red yeast Xanthophyllomyces dendrorhous KCTC 7704 was used for batch and continuous fermentation kinetic studies with glucose media in a 2.5-1 jar fermentor at $22^{\circ}C$ and pH 4.5. The kinetic pattern of growth and carotenoid concentration in the batch fermentations exhibited a so-called mixed-growth-associated product formation, possibly due to the fact that the content of intracellular carotenoids depends on the degree of physical maturation toward adulthood. To determine the maximum specific growth rate constant (${\mu}_m$) and Monod constant ($K_s$) for the mutant, glucose-limited continuous culture studies were performed at different dilution rates within a range of $0.02-0.10\;h^{-1}$. A reciprocal plot of the steady-state data (viz., reciprocal of glucose concentration versus residence time) obtained from continuous culture experiments was used to estimate a ${\mu}_m$ of $0.15\;h^{-1}$ and $k_s$ of 1.19 g/l. The carotenoid content related to the residence time appeared to assume a typical form of saturation kinetics. The maximum carotenoid content ($X_m$) for the mutant was estimated to be $1.04\;{\mu}g/mg$ dry cell weight, and the Lee constant ($k_m$), which was tentatively defined in this work, was found to be 3.0 h.

Fructooligosaccharides have been mainly produced by microbial fructosyltransferases (FTase) enzymes. The present work focuses on the optimization of medium composition and cultivation parameters affecting FTase produced by Penicillium aurantiogriseum AUMC 5605 in shake flask cultivation. FTase production was optimized in two steps using DeMeo's fractional factorial design. A 1.46-fold increase in FTase production (105.4 U/mL) was achieved using the optimized culture medium consisting of (g/L): sucrose, 600; yeast extract, 10; $K_2HPO_4$, 5; $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, 0.5; $(NH_4)_2SO_4$, 1.0 and KCl, 0.5. The obtained results showed that the maximum FTase enzyme activity was produced at initial cultivation pH values ranging from 6.0-6.5, at agitation speed of 200 rpm and using vegetative fungal cells as inoculum. Moreover, results showed that optimization of medium composition and some cultivation parameters resulted in an increase of about 93.7% in the enzyme activity than the nonoptimized cultivation conditions after 96 h of cultivation. Additionally, maximum production and specific production rates recorded 2340 U/L/h and 102 U/L/h/g cells, respectively.
Several tests and experimental work have been done for identifying the best growth conditions and accumulated amount of lipid moiety in B. braunii, a microalga(UTEX 572) in terms of media composition. The specific growth rate was found to be the highest at 0.15 g/L-day when the phosphorus concentration was doubled with the other ingredients at the normal level. Experiments for varied media compositions revealed that the accumulation of lipid was the highest at 48% (dry cell weight based) in the nitrogen deficient medium and its corresponding specific growth rate was comparative to that in the normal BG 11 medium. In the bubble column experiments, carbon dioxide containing air produced four times more cell mass than air only. Light and glucose addition also enhanced cell mass with maximum, 1.8 g/L and accordingly 42% of lipid composition, which turned out to be a better strategy for higher lipid-producing microalgal culture.

Substituting composite structures for conventional metallic structures has many advantages because of higher specific stiffness and specific strength of composite materials. In this work, one-piece propeller shafts composed of carbonfepoxy and glass/epoxy composites were designed and manufactured for a rear wheel drive automobile satisfying three design specifications, such as static torque transmission capability, torsional buckling and the fundamental natural bending frequency. Single lap adhesively bonded joint was employed to join the composite shaft and the aluminum yoke. For the optimal adhesive joining of the composite propeller shaft to the aluminum yoke, the torque transmission capability of the adhesively bonded composite shaft was calculated with respect to bonding length and yoke thickness by finite element method and compared with the experimental result. Then an optimal design method was proposed based on the failure model which incorporated the nonlinear mechanical behavior of aluminum yoke and epoxy adhesive. From the experiments and FEM analyses, it was found that the static torque transmission capability of composite propeller shaft was maximum at the critical yoke thickness, and it saturated beyond the critical length. Also, it was found that the one-piece composite propeller shaft had 40% weight saving effect compared with a two-piece steel propeller shaft.
