  • This paper addresses a simulation for the Ethernet based data transmission between the CIC(Centralized Traffic Control System) and the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Fame error rate and throughput are calculated and compared for the two cases that the CTC/SCADA has an extra error control scheme besides the internal CRC32 of the Ethernet and that no extra error control has been done. Simulation program is constructed with the Matlab and the Matlab GUI and then converted into a stand-alone $c^{++}$ program to be used on any non-Matlab environments.

New Simulation Method of Flashover Rate by Connection of EMTP and MATLAB

  • Because of the random characteristics of lightning, the Monte Carlo method is applied to estimate the flashover rate due to lightning, however, the simulations using previous methods are difficult to both beginner and expert in power corporations. Therefore, this paper proposes the new and easy method to simulate the flashover rate by connection of electromagnetic transients program (EMTP) and MATLAB. The magnitude of a lightning strike is based on a curve measured in the field, while the classification of direct and indirect lightning depends on the striking distance. In a Korean distribution system, the flashover rate induced by lightning is simulated using proposed method. Simulations of the footing resistance according to the existence of an overhead ground wire (OHGW) are performed and the simulation results are discussed. The simulation results are compared with findings obtained with the IEEE Flash 2.0 program.

  • Technological advance of power elcetronic devices using semiconductor switches in last several decades, invoke the increase of switching devices' penetration in the system like STATCOM or HVDC and also, increase the difficulty to adjust switching characteristics in the virtual simulating configuration, which are not capable of reflect the detailed phenomena. To investigate harmful effect of switching devices into the grid, detailed modeling of power electronic devices are necessary, and the first step for entire grid modelling is simulate power system in time domain model. In this paper, simple two bus system with synchronous generator and infinite bus on the other side has been compromised in two simulation environment, using PSS/E and Matlab/Simulink. Comparing the result of two simulation result will give answers to the fundamental difference between two type of simulation environment.

Power Control modeling and Simulation of Hybrid Power System for Building Microgrid Connected Application

  • In this paper, we propose to study the possibility of using a photovoltaic system combined with a high speed micro-turbine. This hybrid system can work as stand-alone system or grid connected system as it will be a part of a micro-grid. Initially, we propose Matlab/Simulink dynamic models of photovoltaic, micro turbine systems and supercapacitor. Then, we carry out a simulation comparison of the two systems, this is, with supercapacitor and without supercapacitor bank. We show that supercapacitor bank as short-term storage device was necessary to reduce the fast fluctuation of power in the case of sensitive loads. It is verified the simulation results of Matlab/Simulink based hybrid power system represent the effectiveness of the suggested hybrid power system.

  • As a development of technology, electric power steering system which uses an electric motor came to use in recent and it can solve the problems with hydraulic power steering system. In this paper, vehicle model and electric power steering system are combined to fulfill full vehicle model. By simulation effect of motor torque assist through electric power steering revealed effective, and full vehicle model are proved reasonable through comparison with real car experimental datum.

  • In this paper, the converter and traction system of 8200 electric locomotive is modeled using matlab simulation module. And the characteristic was analyzed through simulation of the combined system of converter and inverter for controling 8200 electric locomotive. The validity of the simulation was proved through performing unit power factor control of converter and speed control of inverter.

  • 기존의 시뮬레이션 일정기법은 최종공사기간(Project Completion Times: PCTs)이 정규분포를 따른다는 가정을 전제로 한다. 그러나 본 논문에서는 이 가정이 항상 옳은 것이 아니며, 이것이 잘못된 결과를 초래할 수 있다는 것을 검증한다. 이처럼 의문이 제기되지 않고 받아들여져 온 가정이 시뮬레이션 분석 결과에 어떠한 영향을 줄 수 있는지를 밝혀내는 리키스 정량화기법(risk Quantification method)을 MATLAB 알고리즘으로 구현하였으며, 네트워크의 모델링에서부터 시뮬레이션 출력 값들로 구성된 샘플집단들에 대한 분석에 이르기까지 전 단계를 MATLAB 프로그래밍으로 구현된 알고리즘을 사용하여 제기된 의문에 대한 답을 제시하였다. 특정 네트워크를 구성하는 엑티비티 기간 값들을 정의하는 확률분포함수의 종류를 다양하게 변화시켜 시뮬레이션 결과 값들 - 최종공사기간 값들 - 을 생성하고, 이처럼 생성된 시뮬레이션 출력 값들로 구성된 샘플집단들의 확률 통계적 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 시뮬레이션을 기반으로 하는 일정관리기법의 신뢰성을 향상시키며, 일정관련 리시크 분석의 정확성을 향상시키는데 기여할 것이다.

  • This study suggests a modeling of grid-connected wind turbine generation systems and performs simulation according to increase/decrease of real wind speed. MATLAB & SIMULINK implemented modeling of grid-connected wind turbine generation system. Terminal voltage, grid voltage, and active/reactive power shall be observed following the performance of simulation.

  • This paper presents, step-by-step, the capabilities that a general-purpose simulation environment, such as Simulab/Matlab,provides for an intuitive and sfficient modelling of grinding processes. Starting from a revision of the different approaches which can go found in the technical literature the paper begins with the well-known block-diagram forst presented by Snoyes and how the different parameters for the simulation are introduced in the model(machine,grinding wheel and process parameters).   • This paper proposes a synchronous generator protection algorithm using Discrete Wavelet Transform for detection of fault currents. The proposed technique is implemented by using the C language and the Wavemenu of MATLAB Toolbox, and consists of normal state and internal fault state. The effectiveness of proposed method is demonstrated by MATLAB simulation package for synchronous generator, which collects the balanced and unbalanced fault currents through simulation.
