  • Purpose: This investigation was designed to estimate the flexure strength, density, and microstructure of the colored and uncolored zirconia oxide ceramics for fixed partial denture. Material and Methods: LAVATM All Ceramic(3M-ESPE, USA), Cercon Smart Ceramic(Dentsply, USA), and Z-match Ceramic(DentAim, Korea) were used for this study. All specimen was fabricated by ASTM C1161. After preparing $25{\times}2{\times}1.5mm$ of rectangular column and sitting rectangular column on universal test machine (UTM), external supporting point distance is 20.0 mm, internal supporting point distance is 10.0 mm. Specimen was loaded with 0.2 mm/min of cross head speed until fracture and at the time of broken of specimen, measuring loading value with PC software. Results: The results were obtained as follows: 1. Flexure strength of uncolored zirconia was higher than that of colored zirconia. 2. In uncolored zirconia, flexure strength of LAVATM Ceramic was more higher than the other ceramics, and it showed statistical difference between LAVATM Ceramic and Cercon Smart Ceramic (P<0.05). 3. In colored zirconia, flexure strength of LAVATM Ceramic was more higher than the other ceramics too, but they did not show statistical difference (p>0.05). 4. In Weibull analysis, Characterastic strength was showed highest value to uncolored LAVATM Ceramic and lowest value to Z-match ceramic, and Weibull modulus(m) of uncolored zirconia was higher than that of colored zirconia. 5. In XRD analysis, all group except Z-match showed high peak of t-ZrO2 but they did not show m-ZrO2. Colored zirconia group showed lower peak of t-ZrO2 than that of uncolored zirconia group.

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of proteolytic (Serratia liquefaciens, match %: 99.39) or lipolytic (Acinetobacter genomospecies 10, match %: 99.90) psychrotrophic bacteria (bacterial counts, analysis of free fatty acids (FFA) and analysis of free amino acids) on the microbial and chemical properties (yogurt composition), and sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) of yogurt during storage. Yogurts were prepared with raw milk preinoculated with each psychrotrophic bacteria. The total solid, fat, and protein content were not affected by preinoculation, but the pH of yogurt preinoculated with psychrotrophic bacteria was higher than in control. There was a dramatic increase in short chain free fatty acids among FFA in yogurt with Acinetobacter genomospecies 10. For 14 d of cold storage condition, SCFFA was 25.3 mg/kg to 34.4 mg/kg (1.36 times increased), MCFFA was 20.4 mg/kg to 25.7 mg/kg (1.26 times increased), and LCFFA was 240.2 mg/kg to 322.8 mg/kg (1.34 times increased). Serratia liquefaciens (match %: 99.39) in yogurt caused a greater accumulation of free amino acids (FAA), especially bitter peptides such as leucine, valine, arginine, and tyrosine, but SDS-PAGE showed that the inoculation of Serratia liquefaciens did not affect the degree of casein degradation during storage. Taken together, the excessive peptides and FFA in yogurt generated from psychrotrophic bacteria could develop off-flavors that degrade the quality of commercial yogurt products.

  • Recently, deep excavation for high-rise buildings occurs frequently to accommodate the rapidly increasing population in urban area. The stability of the earth retaining structures for deep excavation becomes more critical. The behavior of the earth retaining structures should be accurately predicted in a design stage, but the predicted behavior is different from the measured data due to uncertain soil properties and problems in construction. In this study the back-analysis using Powell's optimization theory was performed to match the measured deflection and results obtained from back-analysis were presented.

  • The ability of a dentist to select and communicate an acceptable shade match to a dental laboratory may be the most important factor in esthetic restorative dentistry. However, shade matching is a very complex situation. In this study, an attempt was made to compare and evaluate the conventional visual assessment and colorimetric analysis in clinical shade matching. 20 patients were selected and their maxillary central incisors shade were measured by Vita classic shade guide, using $Shadepilot^{TM}$ and ShadeEye $NCC^{(R)}$. The results indicate that there is much variation in the shade selection by visual and instrumental methods.

  • This paper presents the analysis of Cheju power system characteristics by performing modeling/simulation in order to match the field recorded data. The comparisons between simulation results and recorded data does not show good match due to the incorrect supposed data, but it is believed that this study is enough to simulate the Cheiu power system characteristics.

  • In order to make a match of the insufficient direct solar radiation, in this study, the target output is lowered to 9 kW smaller than 25 kW in former studies. It is also necessary to match the collector/receiver with engine/generator systems to accomplish the power level of a system. The simulation analyses of a dish solar power system with stirling engine are totally carried out to predict the system performance with the designed values. In addition, an influence of direct solar radiation on system performance and operation control is discussed in simulation. It is found that the diameter of concentrator could be made small to 8 m regardless of slope errors with 2.5 and 5.0 mrad radiation, and the operation range of mean pressure control. is wide even if the direct solar radiation is a quit low.

  • Fingerprint recognition using a joint transform correlator (JTC) is the most well-known technology among optical fingerprint recognition methods. The JTC method optically compares the reference fingerprint image with the sample fingerprint image then examines match or non-match by acquiring a correlation peak. In contrast to the JTC method, this paper presents a new method to examine fingerprint recognition by producing a computer generated hologram (CGH) of those two fingerprint images and directly comparing them. As a result, we present some parameters to show that fingerprint recognition capability of the CGH direct comparison method is superior to that of the JTC method.

  • Image detection system for road traffic data analysis is a real time detection system using image processing techniques to get the real-time traffic information which is used for traffic control and analysis. One of the most important functions in this system is to match the coordinates of real world and that of image on video camera. When there in no way to know the exact position of camera and it´s height from the object. If some points on the road of real world are known it is possible to calculate the coordinates of real world from image.

  • This study was attempted to derive strategic implications for activating professional sports by conducting in-depth interviews with professional sports officials such as players, teams, federations, agencies, etc., by searching for factors that cause match fixing and deriving preventive strategies based on them. Eight people with more than 3 years of experience working in professional sports were selected using the snowball sampling technique. Data were collected and analyzed by applying a semi-structured in-depth interview method for them. As a result of the analysis, five core categories (the learning effect from the cartel for entering university, the culture learned in a camp training, the manifestation of the latent learning effect, the negative effect of the human network, the personal disposition) were derived as factors causing match-fixing. As for the strategy to prevent match fixing, first, improving the college entrance examination system oriented on individual capability, second, improving the education system for student athlete, third, establishing a prevention system, fourth, continuing education, fifth, and activating the agent system as the core categories. Implications for the derived research results and future research directions were discussed.
