인공신경망 및 물질수지 모델을 활용한 하수처리 프로세스 시뮬레이터 구축 (Development of Wastewater Treatment Process Simulators Based on Artificial Neural Network and Mass Balance Models)

  • Developing two process models to simulate wastewater treatment process is needed to draw a comparison between measured BOD data and estimated process model data: a mathematical model based on the process mass-balance and an ANN (artificial neural network) model. Those two types of simulator can fit well in terms of effluent BOD data, which models are formulated based on the distinctive five parameters: influent flow rate, effluent flow rate, influent BOD concentration, biomass concentration, and returned sludge percentage. The structuralized mass-balance model and ANN modeI with seasonal periods can estimate data set more precisely, and changing optimization algorithm for the penalty could be a useful option to tune up the process behavior estimations. An complex model such as ANN model coupled with mass-balance equation will be required to simulate process dynamics more accurately.

대기오염제어를 위한 생물살수여과법에서 물질전달 Model과 계수에 관한 연구 (Mass Transfer Model and Coefficient on Biotrickling Filtration for Air Pollution Control)

  • 대기오염물질처리를 위한 생물살수여과법에서 물질전달현상을 이해하기 위한 선행 실험결과를 기초로 각각의 운전조건에서 기체/액체(살수액), 기체/고체(미생물)와 액체/고체에서의 model을 이용하여 물질전달계수를 평가하였다. 생물살수여과법에서 기/액에서는 정상상태물질수지, 그리고 액/고와 기/고에서는 동적물질수지를 이용하여 물질전달 model을 확립하고 그 결과를 고찰하였다. 물질전달 model은 여과탑을 일정크기 구획하여, 각 구획에서 동적 물질수지식을 수치해석 전산코드를 이용해 계산하였다. 동적물질수지식을 이용하여 계산된 결과는 실험결과와 비교하여 생물살수여과법에서 기/액, 기/고, 액/고 각상간의 물질전달계수($K_La$)를 산정하였다. 본 연구에서는 대기오염제어를 위한 생물살수여과법에서 물질전달계수를 결정하기 위한 실험방법개발과 model을 이용하여 물질전달현상을 고찰하였다.

물질순환 모델을 이용한 마산만의 질소, 인 수지 산정 (The Estimation of N, P mass Balance in Masan Bay using a Material Cycle Model)

  • It is noted that the red tides and the oxygen-deficient water mass are extensively developed in Masan Bay during summer. The nutrients mass balance was calculated in Masan Bay, using the three-dimensional numerical hydrodynamic model and the material cycle model. The material cycle model was calibrated with the data obtained on the field of the study area in June 1993. The nutrients mass balance calculated by the combination of the residual currents and material cycle model results showed nutrients of surface and middle levels to be transported from the inner part to the outer part of Masan Bay, and nutrients of bottom level to be transported from outer part to inner part of Masan Bay. The uptake rate of DIN in the box A1(surface level of inner part) was found to be 337. 5mg/$m^3$ㆍday, the largest value in all 9 boxes and that of DIP was found to be 18.6mg/$m^3$ㆍday in box A1, and the regeneration rate of DIN was found to be 78.2mg/$m^3$ㆍday in the box A3(bottom level of inner part), and that of DIP was found to be 18.6mg/$m^3$ㆍday in box A1. The regenerations of DIN and DIP in the water column of the entire Bay were found to be 7.66ton/day and 760kg/day, respectively. And the releases of DIN and DIP from the sediments of the entire Bay were found to be 2.86ton/day and 634kg/day, respectively. The regeneration rate was 2.5 times as high as the release rate in DIN, and 1.2 times in DIP. The results of mass balance calculation showed not only the nutrients released from the sediments but the nutrients regenerated in water column to be important in the control and management of water quality in Masan Bay.

생태모델을 이용한 해상형 해양심층수 사업해역의 환경 특성 평가 (Estimation of Environmental Characteristics for Deep Ocean Water Development Site Using Ecological Model)

  • A ecosystem model was applied for understanding of circulation process of state variables in marine ecosystem. A mass balance was conducted by calculating the physical process. The sensitivity analysis was conducted to know which coefficient is the most effective factor to the state variables in the model. The results of the mass balance indicate that the primary production was 58.6 ton C/day in the case of mass flux. DIN and DIP in nutrient ingestion of phytoplankton were each 7.9 ton N/day, 1.1 ton P/day. POC and DOC in mineralization of organic matter were each 10.8 ton C/day, 40.6 ton C/day. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that the maximum growth rate of phytoplankton was the most important factor for overall state variables. In the case of nutrients, Half saturation constant of DIN, and mineralization rate of DOM for COD were important factor.

눈 속에서 용질이동을 모사하기 위한 수치모델의 검증 (Validations of a Numerical Model of Solute Transport in a Snowpack)

  • 겨울철동안 쌓여 봄에 놓은 눈 녹은 물(snowmelt), 즉 융설의 유출은 북반구 및 산간지역에서 매우 중요한 것으로 여겨지고 있다. 이러한 지역에서 융설로 인한 유동 및 이온의 이동에 대한 이해는 매우 중요하며 전세계적으로 꾸준하게 연구되고 있다. Lee et al. (2008a)와 Lee et al. (2008b)연구에서는 대기로부터 수송된 이온 및 오염원이 융설에 의해 눈속을 이동하는 것을 모사하기 위한 Mobile-Immobile water Model (MIM)을 개발하였다. 이 연구에 사용된 모델을 검증하기 위해서 물질수지계산(mass balance calculation) 및 해석해(analytical solution)를 이용한 모델결과와의 비교를 수행하였다. 일정시간동안 눈 속에서의 물질의 질량변화는 눈 표면에서 들어온 물질과 눈 기저부에서 빠져나간 물질의 질량 차이와 같아야한다는 사실을 이용하여 물질수지를 계산하였다. 파면(wave front)의 이동속도 및 기존문헌에서 알려진 해석 해를 이용하여 모델결과와의 비교도 시도하였다. 모델의 물질수지계산결과 질량 차이가 거의 발생하지 않았으며 모델결과와 해석해와의 비교 역시 두 결과가 거의 일치하였다.

  • Rotary kiln furnace is one of the most widely used reactors in industrial field. In this paper, 0-dimensional heat and mass balance for direct coal flame rotary kiln was performed preferentially, then a simplified 1-dimensional model was developed based on 0-dimensional analysis data to proceed additional thermal analysis. Compared the results with the currently operating rotary kiln data to validate 1-dimensional model. Through this procedure, it can help to derive fundamental idea for design and operation of rotary kiln.

  • Balance shaft has a key role in reducing a engine vibration in a vehicle and widely applied for current models. Since balance shaft module consists many sub-component and each part has its own operational characteristics, some different analysis backgrounds should be integrated into one sub-part in balance shaft module and this is the main obstacles in making a design process. Moreover, the balancing shaft is rotating in high speed and such condition requires large safety factors in a design process owing to a lot of unexpected problems with the overwhelming rotation. Balance shaft is the core-component generating the intended unbalance as well as cancelling the unbalance force or moment by the engine module. So, the balance shaft should meet the high fatigue resistance not to mention of NVH performance. In this paper, a design strategy focused on balance shaft is developed to build a optimal model considering a engine vibration. Putting the unbalance mass distribution as main design parameter, some candidate model is verifed with structural and fatigue analysis and most appropriate model is proposed here.

순간 유입된 오염물질의 혼합 모의 시 질량 오차 산정 (Estimation of Mass Error in the Simulation of Mixing of Instantaneously Released Pollutants)

  • 사고 등으로 인해 하천에 순간적으로 주입되는 오염물질의 2차원 이송-확산을 모의하기 위하여 SUPG법에 의한 2차원 유한요소 모형을 개발하고 주입된 질량과 모의 질량간의 오차를 산정하였다. 지배방정식으로부터 질량 오차 산정식을 유도하고 이를 간단한 예제에 적용하였다. 적용 예제로는 단순 직선수로에서 선원을 통한 질량주입과 일방향의 등질 유속장을 가지는 2차원 공간에서 점원을 통한 질량주입 문제를 가정하였으며, 기존의 Galerkin법과의 비교를 위하여 두가지 수치기법에 대한 모의 검증을 실시하였다. 검증결과 기존의 Galerkin법에 의한 모의 결과에 비하여 SUPG법을 통한 수치모형의 구성이 모의의 정확성뿐만 아니라 주입 질량의 보존에 있어서도 보다 정확한 방법임을 확인하였다.

동적 힘 평형 모델을 이용한 GMA 용접의 용적이행 해석 (Analysis of Metal Transfer using Dynamic Force Balance Model in GMAW)

  • A dynamic force balance model is proposed in this work as an extension of the previous static force balance model to predict metal transfer in arc welding. Dynamics of a pendant drop is modeled as the second order system, which consists of the mass, spring and damper. The spring constant of a spherical drop at equilibrium is derived in the closed-form equation, and the inertia force caused by drop vibration is included in the drop detaching condition. While the inertia force is small in the low current range, it becomes larger than the gravitational force with current increase. The inertia force reaches half of the electromagnetic force at transition current, and has considerable effects on drop detachment. The proposed dynamic force balance model predicts the detaching drop size more accurately than the static force balance model.

Enhanced mass balance Tafel slope model for computer based FEM computation of corrosion rate of steel reinforced concrete coupled with CO2 transport

  • This research paper aims at computer based modeling of carbonation induced corrosion under extreme conditions and its experimental verification by incorporating enhanced electrochemical and mass balance equations based on thermo-hygro physics with strong coupling of mass transport and equilibrium in micro-pore structure of carbonated concrete for which the previous research data is limited. In this paper the carbonation induced electrochemical corrosion model is developed and coupled with carbon dioxide transport computational model by the use of a concrete durability computer based model DuCOM developed by our research group at concrete laboratory in the University of Tokyo and its reliability is checked in the light of experiment results of carbonation induced corrosion mass loss obtained in this research. The comparison of model analysis and experiment results shows a fair agreement. The carbonation induced corrosion model computation reasonably predicts the quantitative behavior of corrosion rate for normal air dry relative humidity conditions. The computational model developed also shows fair qualitative corrosion rate simulation and analysis for various pH levels and coupled environmental actions of chloride and carbonation. Detailed verification of the model for the quantitative carbonation induced corrosion rate computation under varying relative conditions, different pH levels and combined effects of carbonation and chloride attack remain as scope for future research.
