  • In this paper, we proposed a new visual cryptography scheme based on optical interference which improves the contrast and SNR of reconstructed images comparing with conventional visual cryptography method. We divided an binary image to be encrypted into n slides. To encrypt them, (n-1) random independent keys and one another random key by XOR process between four random keys were prepared. XOR between each divided image and each random key makes encrypted n encrypted images. From these images, encrypted binary phase masks can be made. For decryption all of phase masks should be placed together in the interferometer such as Mach-Zehnder interferometer.

  • This paper presents a new method for a visual cryptography scheme that uses phase masks and an interferometer. To encrypt a binary image, we divided it into an arbitrary number of slides and encrypted them using an XOR process with a random key or keys. The phase mask for each encrypted image was fabricated nuder the proposed phase-assignment rule. For decryption, phase masks were placed on any path of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Through optical experiments, we confirmed that a secret binary image that was sliced could be recovered by the proposed method.

  • Tension mask assembly is positioned right behind the glass-made front panels of CRT type display devices. The frame-supported thin metal sheet contains numerous slits, through which electron beams are focused to enhance definition. Pretension is imposed on the masks, especially for enlarged flat screens, in order to avoid vibration due to acoustic or mechanical impact. High temperature assembly process subsequent to pretensioning, however, degenerates the creep resistance of common mask materials, and if tensile stress is high enough, tension on the mask may be loosened substantially due to creep deformation. In this study, the assembly is modeled as a combined structure of beams and wire array, and a numerical simulation is attempted for pretensioning followed by high temperature process. According to a model study, small amount of creep strain is likely to be generated, but its adverse influence is not negligible. Some structural modification measures to reduce the creep-induced tension loosening are proposed and evaluated. Also, optimal configuration of frame structure is sought for, which maintains high tension of masks and minimizes the possible creep of frame simultaneously.

  • Optical encoding method of images using random-phase encoding in both input and Fourier Planes was proposed by Javidi and his group, and the method was realized experimentally by Singh and his group with use of a photorefractive crystal and a phase conjugate wave.[1-2] Recently various techniques have been proposed theorically and experimentally. These include the method using one random-phase mask in the Fourier plane or two random-phase masks in the input and the Fresnel planes.[3] We demonstrate the difference and the problem of the methods using one or two random-phase masks in the Fourier or Fresnel plane. We perform the encoding and decoding in $LiNbO_3$ crystal using degenerate four-wave mixing.

  • In this paper, Hadamard transform imaging spectrometers utilizing Grill spectrometers are proposed. General Hadamard Transform Spectrometers (HTS) carry out one-encoding through input masks, but Grill spectrometers carry out double-encoding through entrance and exit masks. Thus Grill spectrometers increase the signal-to-noise ratio by double-encoding. we reconfigure the system by using the Grill spectrometers which use a left cyclic S-matrix instead of the conventional right cyclic one. Then, we model the system and apply the mask characteristics method, i.e. $T^{I}$ method, to complete fast algorithm. Through computer simulations, we want to prove the superiority of the proposed system by comparing with the conventional HTS. From Observations concerning the average mean square error(AMSE) associated with estimates from the $T^{I}$ spectrum-recovery method, the relative performances of the two systems are compared.

  • In order to analyse stretching of perforated sheets for shadow masks by the finite element method for use with the associated flow rule, yield functions which can explain the yield stresses and the apparent plastic contraction ratios of the sheets have been obtained. Coefficients in the yield functions could be determined from the measured apparent plastic contraction ratios under uniaxial tension. Using this yield function and estimated coefficients, the stretching of hole-type and slot-type sheets has been analysed and compared with the experimental results. The calculated results were in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • The blending of defective texture with the ambience texture results in camouflage. The gray value or color distribution pattern of the camouflaged images fails to reflect considerable deviations between the camouflaged object and the sublimating background demands improved strategies for texture analysis. In this research, we propose the implementation of an initial enhancement of the image that employs line masks, which could result in a better discrimination of the camouflaged portion. Finally, the gray value distribution patterns are analyzed in the enhanced image, to fix the camouflaged portions.

  • Because of the COVID-19 epidemic, many countries have made the obligation to wear masks normal. Wearing masks in public places has become a must. At present, wearing a mask to participate in sports makes it very common. People seek to gain health through exercise but ignore the potential respirato-ry health threat. That is, wearing a mask will cause a decrease in oxygen content in the body. This neg-ative impact becomes more prominent as the wear-ing time and oxygen consumption increase. To pro-tect people from viruses and enjoy a healthy life. This paper proposes a breathing pattern that im-proves blood oxygen saturation while wearing a jogging mask and walking. Namely, shouting breathing pattern. Use a pulse oximeter to measure the blood oxygen saturation of running at different speeds and compare the normal breathing pattern and the shouting breathing pattern. The results show that the shouting breathing pattern has a sig-nificant improvement in the blood oxygen satura-tion of low-speed walking and medium-speed jog-ging.

  • Recently, the worldwide demand for disposable masks has increased due to COVID-19 infections and severe air pollution. Personal masks should reduce breathe resistance while maintaining filtering performance. In this study, a solution blowing process is used to produce composite nanofiber filters to co-spin two polymers at once. The manufacture process of the various fiber diameter filter was designed, and the filtration performance and differential pressure of the prepared filter was investigated. Poly vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene (PVDF-HFP) and Polylactic acid (PLA) fibers were chosen to be entangled together in a layer with a diameter of 1.05 ㎛ and 0.33 ㎛. Composite nanofilters showed up to 87% filtration efficiency and 32 Pa differential pressure.

  • An indirect visual SLAM takes raw image data and exploits geometric information such as key-points and line edges. Due to various environmental changes, SLAM performance may decrease. The main problem is caused by dynamic objects especially in highly crowded environments. In this paper, we propose a robust feature-based visual SLAM, building on ORB-SLAM, via multi-channel dynamic objects estimation. An optical flow and deep learning-based object detection algorithm each estimate different types of dynamic object information. Proposed method incorporates two dynamic object information and creates multi-channel dynamic masks. In this method, information on actually moving dynamic objects and potential dynamic objects can be obtained. Finally, dynamic objects included in the masks are removed in feature extraction part. As a results, proposed method can obtain more precise camera poses. The superiority of our ORB-SLAM was verified to compared with conventional ORB-SLAM by the experiment using KITTI odometry dataset.
