본 연구는 게이미피케이션 기반의 퀴즈 활동이 정형화 배열의 회상에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 서울 소재 대학의 교양 영어 수업을 듣는 신입생 87명을 대상으로 실험을 진행하였다. 교재는 Marvel Cinematic Universe과 Twilight 및 Harry Potter 등 유명 프랜차이즈의 내용을 소재로 하는 EFL 교재를 이용하였다. 실험은 어휘 학습, 독해하기, 작문하기 순서로 진행하였다. 네 번째 활동은 두 집단에서 다르게 진행하였다. 실험집단은 게이미피케이션 기반의 퀴즈를 이용하여 정형화 배열을 연습하는 활동을 하였고, 비교집단은 독해한 내용을 요약하는 활동을 하였다. 평가는 정형화 배열 의미 회상과 형태 회상으로 나누어 실시하였다. 평가 결과, 정형화 배열 의미 회상 평가에서는 집단 간의 차이가 없었으나 사후 정형화 배열의 형태 회상 평가에서 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 높은 점수를 나타냈고 이는 유의미한 차이로 나타났다.

The Avengers film produced by Marvel Comics shows visual effects that were impossible to produce in the past. Companies that produce film special effects were initially equipped with large personnel and equipment, but technology is gradually evolving to be feasible for smaller companies that do not have high-priced equipment and a large workforce. The development of hardware and software is becoming increasingly available to the general public as well as to experts. Equipment and software which were difficult for individuals to purchase before quickly popularized high-performance computers as the game industry developed. The development of the cloud has been the driving force behind software costs. As augmented reality (AR) performance of mobile devices improves, advanced technologies such as motion tracking and face recognition technology are no longer implemented by expensive equipment. Under these circumstances, after implementing mobile-based facial capture technology in animation projects, we have identified the pros and the cons and suggest better solutions to improve the problem.

차세대 저장매체로 각광받고 있는 BPRAM을 이용해, NAND Flash memory의 결점을 보완하고자 하는 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 BPRAM과 NAND Flash를 이용하여, 계층적 스토리지에 사용하는 하이브리드 파일 시스템인 Compressing Metadata File System(CMFS)을 개발하였다. CMFS는 Mount time에 필요한 메타데이터를 BPRAM에 저장하여 마운트 시간을 줄이고, 메타데이터를 Update하기 위한 Overhead를 줄이기 위해 부분 갱신 기법을 개발하였다. 또한 메타데이터의 저장을 위해 필요한 BPRAM의 용량를 줄이기 위해 메타데이터를 경량화 및 압축하고, 압축률을 높이기 위해 Hybrid Coding 압축기법을 개발하여 적용한다. Marvel PXA320(806MHz) 보드를 이용하여 CMFS의 성능을 측정하였으며, 타 압축 기법보다 높은 메타데이터의 압축률을 보였다.

우리나라 재해 중 사망사고가 가장 많이 발생하는 업종은 단연 건설업이다. 지난해에도 총 2,114명의 산업재해 사망자 중 621명(29.4%)이 건설업에서 발생했다. 이렇듯 건설업에서 사망재해가 많이 발생하는 것에는 여러 이유가 있겠지만, 그 중에서도 현장에서 체계적이고 시스템적인 관리 및 업무처리가 잘 이뤄지지 않고 있다는 것이 주 요인으로 꼽힌다. 이는 현장의 이동이 빈번하고, 일용근로자가 많다는 건설현장특성상 어쩔 수 없는 부분으로 여겨져 왔다. 이러한 상황 속에 최근 설계 도면부터 각종 안전장치까지, 수동적인 시스템을 탈피해 자동적인 시스템을 구축 확산하려 노력하고 있는 기업이 있어 주목을 끈다. 바로 자동화시스템 전문업체인 (주)제이엠디(이하 JMD)다. 이곳의 대표적인 제품으로는 철골 자동화 설계 프로그램인 'Marvel Shop'과 자동안전샤클 제품인 'MASS2 ss11'이 있다. 건설현장의 자동화를 지향하는 이들 제품을 한번 살펴봤다.

1989년 배트맨(Batman), 2000년 엑스맨(X-man), 2002년 스파이더맨(Spider-man), 2003년 헐크(Hulk). 21세기 들어 매년 전세계 극장가는‘맨(Man)’의 바람으로 한차례 술렁인다. 이 영화들의 메인 캐릭터는 모두 인간보다 우월한 호모슈피리얼(homosuperial)들이다. 폭풍과도 같은‘맨’류 영화의 공통점은 무엇일까. 우선 미국의 만화 출판사의 양대 산맥인‘마블(Marvel)’과‘DC코믹스’의 스테디셀러라는 점이다. 둘째로 2004년의 시점에서도 끊임없이 후속 영화를 기획하고 연출한다는 점이고, 셋째로 게임시장에서 다양한 형태로 활용된다는 점을 들 수 있다. 그리고 마지막으로 캐릭터 상품으로 이어진다는 점이다. 원 소스 멀티 유즈(One Source Multi Use)를 최고의 가치로 여기는 21세기 문화시장에 있어서 이들은 그야말로 모범답안이요 보증수표라 할 만 하다. 이 모범답안을 적극 활용하기 위해서는 표면의 흥행요소뿐만 아니라, 심층의 이야기 확장 가능성을 짚어볼 필요가 있다.

Communication between ECUs (Electronic Control Units) in agricultural machineries tends to use IS011783 widely, that is PGN (Parameter Group Number) based communication protocol lays on CAN protocol by altering its identifier part. Messages in line are transferred and received between ECUs according to ISO11783 standard. This paper discusses about design of wireless monitoring system. We used an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller embedded development board and marvel8686 wireless module. The wireless ISOBUS monitoring system, attached to communication line, reads messages, interpret them, and display them on the screen in easily comprehendible form. It can be used to generate messages and monitor the traffic on physical bus systems. The monitoring system connected to ECUs, monitor and simulate real traffic of communication and functionality of the ECUs. In order to support our work, we have implemented the monitoring tool. The development consists of two parts: GUI of the application and firmware level programming. Hence the monitoring system is attached to the communication line and equipped by Wi-Fi module; farmer/dispatcher in a farm monitors all messages in communication line on personal computer and smart device.

CMTM/CKLFSF is a novel family of proteins linking chemokines and TM4SF. In humans, these proteins are encoded by nine genes, CKLF and CMTM1-8/CKLFSF1-8. Here we report the characteristics and expression profile of CMTM3/CKLFSF3. Human CMTM3/CKLFSF3 has a high sequence identity among various species and similar characteristics as its mouse and rat homologues. Established by results both of RT-PCR and Quantitative Real-time PCR, the gene is highly transcribed in testis, leukocytes and spleen. For further verification, we generated a polyclonal antibody against human CMTM3/CKLFSF3 and found that the protein is highly expressed in the testis and some cells of PBMCs. Therefore, CMTM3/CKLFSF3 is an evolutionarily conserved gene that may have important roles in the male reproductive system and immune system. Further studies are necessary to validate its functions in the two systems.

Background: Testicular cancer management is considered a marvel of modern science with excellent treatment results. Pakistan has a distinct ethnic variation and geographic distribution but data regarding clinical presentation of testicular tumors and their management is under reported. The objective of this study was to determine clinical profile, treatment modalities and survival outcome of testicular tumors in the Pakistani population. Materials and Methods: A retrospective review of patients who received treatment for testicular cancer at Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital from January 2009 to December 2012 was performed. Patient demographics, clinical features at presentation and treatment modalities were assessed. For categorical variables chi square test was used. Survival was calculated using Kaplan Meier survival curves and Log rank test was employed to determine significance. Results: The most common tumor was mixed germ cell tumor in 49% patients. For all tumor variants except seminoma, stage III was the most common clinical stage at presentation. Majority of patients with non seminomatous germ cell tumors presented in the15-30 year age group as compared to seminoma which was most prevalent in the 30-40 year age group. Orchiectomy followed by chemotherapy was the most common treatment modality in 80% patients. Expected 5 year survival for seminomas and non-seminomatous germ cell tumors was 96% and 90% respectively which was not significantly different (p=0.2). Conclusions: Despite a distinct clinical profile of testicular tumors in Pakistani population, survival is comparable with published reports.

family (CMTM) is a novel family of proteins linking classical chemokines and the transmembrane 4 superfamily (TM4SF). Our earlier studies indicated several CMTM members (such as CKLF1 and CMTM2) have a secreted form. This is the first report of the secreted form of CMTM5-v1, the major RNA splicing form of CMTM5, which is produced as small vesicles (<100 nm diameter) and floats at a peak density of 1.19 g/ml on continuous sucrose gradients. CMTM5-v1 has no obvious co-localization with CD63 or Golgi complex. In addition, brefeldin A but not wortmannin can inhibit the secretion of CMTM5-v1. Our results suggest that CMTM5-v1 might be secreted via a different vesicle-mediated secretory pathway, which will be helpful for the studies of vesicle-mediated secretion and MARVEL domain-containing proteins.

John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) is a painter renown for his romantic beautiful femme fatale images in the late 19th century in England. The purpose of this study is to examine the fashion in Waterhouse's femme fatale images. Waterhouse displays the devilism of femme fatale by the symbols of a wicked woman. He emphasized how wicked she is by means of water such as lake, river, and sea as well as symbols associated with demons such as forest, cave, naked woman, long hair, a monster-headed woman looking like an animal, water lily, and garden. On the other hand, he illustrates the woman's style as an image of a typical feminine beauty. Expressing naturally a fine-curved, immature girl's body with marvel-like white and clear skin in a kneeling down or crouching passive rose and depicting it as an innocent and fragile feminine image, he created a passive and lovely image of a young girl. With her eminent beauty and sex appeals, she lured men into danger. Words such as evil, women, and death had been used in describing her as femme fatale to emphasize her wickedness as well as to deliver the meaning across from the inside and to the outside. They also described her as a type of woman with body posture and fashion corresponding to the sexual ideology during the Victorian Age. His description of this fashion image was to show that femme fatale's fashion, which represents attraction and fatality, does not necessarily translate to an active fashion style that emphasizes sensuality. It also tends to minimize resistance and feelings of being threatened. Therefore, it allons us to acknowledge that even girlish body with innocent and frail-looking fashion can be a form of femme fatale, and that fashion styles is essential in forming the image of femininity.
