The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family strengths and self-esteem on depression among married women who have adolescents in middle and high school of their first child in Korea. To measure of depression using the CESD(the center for epidemiologic studies depression scale), the degree of husewives' depression was relatively higher than that of employed married women. As for the related variables, educational degree, S.E.S(socio-economic status), self-esteem turned out significant in housewives' depression. But, in the case of employed married women, these were not significant. Therefore, we are confirmed that the etiologic model of this study was more proper to housewives than employed married women. Finally, in both cases of housewives and employed married women, the effects of family strengths were mediated or moderated by self-esteem in predicting depression. The results of this study called for the encouraging of married women's self-esteem, the parti ipation of various social programs for housewives, and the programs to strengthening of their family relationships.
The purpose of this study is to understand a migrant women's married life. The study examined migrant Filipino women's married lives, motives for marriage and migration to Korea, and their married life experiences. The results showed that these women get married to Korean men in pursuit of an economically better life to support their family in the Philippines through marriage migration. As for Filipino women's perceived difficulties in married life, they indicated hardships with redrawing the boundaries of nationality, as well as their husbands' faults or bad habits which are different from what they expected before marriage. Other difficulties mentioned were the peculiar culture of living with parents-in-law, and general difficulties in married life. This study showed that marriage migration results not from external pressure or motives but ultimately from their own decision in a social and cultural context. It was also implicated that Korea's superior position to the Philippines in international economic power has an effect on family relations. The boundaries of nationality are redrawn according to their married life. In addition, it was revealed that the Korean born children of migrant mothers who divorce because of difficulties in married life are in a very poor situation as their national identity depends on their mother's future marriage relations.

Korean married women were randomly sampled and conducted an online survey due to COVID 19. The final analysis subjects were 115 marriage immigrant women and 186 Korean married women. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, mean comparison(t-test, ANOVA), correlation anaylsis(Pearson's correlation coefficient) and multiple regression using SPSS 27.0. As a result of comparing the depression levels measured using the CES-D, there was no significant difference in the depression levels between the two groups of marriage immigrant women and Korean married women Results: The significant influencing factors on depression of marriage immigrant women were age(p<.01), religious status(p<.01), period of residence in Korea(p<.1), husband's job (p<.05), subjective health status(p<.1), experience of domestic violence(p<.01), and family relationships(p<.05) and the significant influencing factors on depression of Korean married women were subjective health status(p<.01), age difference with husband(p<.05), experience of domestic violence(p<.05), and family relationship (p<.001). The purpose of this study was to investigate the purchasing behavior and selection attributes for Home Meal Replacement (HMR) and to identify the selection attributes affecting purchasing frequency and purchasing costs of married women living in a city. Among 837 questionnaires distributed to HMR married women consumers, 752 complete questionnaires (89.8%) were analyzed. The younger married women group showed higher frequency of purchasing HMR than the older age group. The 20s and 30s age groups showed higher purchasing costs for HMR than the 40s and older age groups. A higher proportion of employed married women purchased HMR three or more times per week and spent an average of more than 20,000 won per purchase in comparison with unemployed married women. HMR selection attributes were classified into five factors: 'taste and sanitation', 'economic efficiency', 'health and nutrition', 'convenience', and 'reliability and awareness'; mean scores of these factors' importance levels were 4.28, 3.93, 3.59, 3.54, and 3.50 out of 5 points, respectively. The importance level of 'taste and sanitation' factor was significantly greater as married women's age decreased. However, the importance level of 'health and nutrition' factor was significantly greater as married women's age increased. The results of the logistic regression analyses indicate that the 'taste and sanitation' and 'health and nutrition' factors affected frequency of purchasing HMR. The 'reliability and awareness' factor had the most significant impact on cost per purchasing HMR. Therefore, a product differentiation strategy according to married women's age and employment status should be applied. Product qualities and brand value should be improved to enhance competition in the HMR market.
The main purpose of the current research was to examine the married women's "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I" which is a new strategy for developing the strength of family. The survey was conducted with three hundred married women who have a child or children attending elementary school, based upon relationship. The main results of the present study are as following. First, the level of the married women's "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I" tended to be relatively high and they were good at charismatic leadership among sub-dimension of "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I". Moreover, internal and external controllability and social support turned out to be most influential background variables. Second, the score for the strengths of family that is recognized by the married women appeared to be more than average. It seemed that internal and external controllability, social support, and monthly gross family income were the most influential variables. Indeed, the result of stepwise regression analysis showed that transformational leadership made a comparatively high contribution to the married women's strength of family. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that married women's leadership development is a main source of maintaining healthy family.

The survey is intended to compare the characteristics between those women who want two or less number of ideal children and all married women(regardless the number of ideal children). The results showed as follows: The women who want small size of family were younger and little better educated than those of all married women. The age at marriage of women who want small size of family was older than that of all married women. The conducted rate of induced abortion and acceptance rate of contraception among those women who want small size of family were higher than those of all married women. The rate of those who want less than 2 children socalled ideal No. among all married women was 3.9 percent.

This study attempts to examine family attitudes and gender role divisions of married women in contemporary Vietnam and Korea. Drawing data from the 2003 Vietnam Family Study and the 2005 Korean Marriage and Fertility Study, this study investigated 1) attitudes of married women toward marriage, cohabitation, divorce, and having children, 2) decision making on household expenditures, and 3) household work division between husband and wife. The results showed that married Korean women were less inclined toward traditional family attitudes regarding marriage and children than married Vietnamese women. Decision on routine household expenditures was made and household work was done mostly by the wife in the two countries. In comparison, married Vietnamese men took more responsibilities for important financial decisions and child education than married Korean men. These overall findings imply that patriarchical family and gender role norms were preserved to larger extent in contemporary Vietnam than in Korea.
