결혼이주여성을 위한 개별적 모유수유증진프로그램의 효과 (Effects of an Individual Breast-feeding Promotion Program for Married Immigrant Women)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the effects of an individual breast-feeding promotion program to address breast-feeding knowledge, attitude, method and rate of practice for married immigrant women. Methods: A non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design was used (experimental group=16, control group=17). The intervention consisted of 3 phases: (1) Within 2 hours of delivery - individual breast-feeding training through video/verbal/practical training education and demonstration (2) After 1~2 days - group training using video, model doll, and breast models (3) After 7 days - family visit, counseling, retraining and reinforcement training. The data were analyzed using non-parametric tests with the SPSS program. Results: Married immigrant women who participated in the individual breast-feeding program scored high in knowledge, attitude, method and rate of practice compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results indicate that the individual breast-feeding program is very effective in increasing breast-feeding knowledge, attitude, method and rate of practicing breast feeding for married immigrant women. So, nurses are encouraged to aggressively utilize individual breast-feeding programs to help married immigrant women, who are exposed to vulnerability due to various situations.

가족의 응집력 및 적응력과 권위유형, 성역할 태도와의 관계연구 -부산시 주부를 중심으로- (A Study on the relation among Family Cohesion and Adaptability Authority patterns and Sex-role attitudes -The case of married women in Pusan-)

  • The objectives of this study were to examine whether there were differences in family cohesion and adaptability perceived by married women when socio-demographic variables authority patterns and sex-role attitudes changed. Dividing the family system type into two parts by the levels of cohesion and adaptability then collected data were examined to test curviliner and linear hypothesis. The subjects were 542 married women living in Pusan. The guestionnaires included FACES III Authority Pattern and Sex-role attitude scales. The data were analyzed with statistical methods such as Frequency Distribution Percentile Mean T-test and X2-test. The major findings were as follows: 1) The levels of family cohesion and family adaptability perceived by married women were high. 2) There were no significant statistical differences in the levels of socio-demographic variables Authority pattern Sex-role attitude among the groups of family system type I based on the curvilinear hypothesis but significant statistical differences were found in preferred variables among the groups of family system type II based on the linear hypothesis. 3) Among the socio-demographic variables family type religion and husband's educational level were significantly correlated with the groups of family system type II,. The percentiles of HH(the levels of cohesion and adaptability were high) families were high when the married women's sex-role attitudes leaned toward modern and authority patterns were husband-dominant.

산부인과 간호사의 결혼이주민 산모 간호경험 (Nursing experience of delivery care for married immigrant women in Korea: An application of focus group interview)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 결혼이주민 산모에 대한 간호경험을, 실제 간호현장에서 이들을 간호하고 있는 산부인과 간호사들로부터의 진술을 통해 기술하고 설명함으로써, 결혼이주민 산모의 간호서비스 향상 방안 마련을 위해 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 초점집단의 면담을 통해 질적 내용분석을 적용하여 연구의 주요 질문을 중심으로 분석한 결과, 산보인과 간호사의 결혼이주민 산모 간호경험은 5개의 주요 면담 질문으로 부터 14개 범주 및 35개 하위범주로 설명할 수 있었다. 결혼이주민 산모 간호의 질적 향상을 위해 산부인과 간호사의 의사소통 능력과 문화적 역량을 증진시킬 수 있는 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 연구를 제언한다.

생산직 기혼여성의 생활시간 분석 (Time Use of Married Female Production Workers)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the real life of married women employed in a manufacturing industry by analysis patterns of their time use. Data for 172 married working women were gathered from the use of face-to-face interview method. The results were shown as follows; 1) Married female production workers spend 8 hours 44 minutes a weekday, and 10 hours 39 minutes a Sunday on physiological activities, and on socio-cultural activities 1 hour 50 minutes(weekday), 5 hours 30 minutes (sunday). 10 hours 22 minutes, 2 hours 23 minutes were consumed for the employed time compared to 3 hours 4 minutes, 5 hours 28 minutes for household labor. 2) Married working women's employed labor time is excessively too long while for leisure and house work time is too short, which means the patterns of their time use are very unbalanced type.

첫 자녀 출산 여부와 가족친화제도에 따른 유배우 기혼 여성의 취업 중단에 관한 연구 (Young Married Women's Labor Market Exit: Focused on the Effects of the Child Birth and Available Family-Friendly Policies)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 기혼 여성의 결혼 후 첫 취업 중단 발생 경향을 자녀 출산 및 가족친화제도에 따른 영향에 주목하여 분석함으로써, 출산과 가족친화제도가 일 가족 양립에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 알아보기 위하여 한국노동패널에서 최근 5년 이내(2002~2006) 결혼한 20~30대 취업 여성 194명을 추출하였으며, 가족친화제도 문항이 포함되기 시작한 제4차(2001)부터 제 9차(2006)까지의 데이터를 활용하여 생존분석하였다. 분석 결과 기혼 취업 여성이 첫 경력 단절을 경험하기까지 걸리는 시간은 평균 29.60개월로, 결혼 후 2년 반 이내에 절반 가까이 직장 생활을 그만두었다. 취업 여성의 결혼 후 취업 중단 요인에는 자녀 출산이 가장 유의한 변수로 나타났으며, 근로소득이 증가할수록, 근로시간이 감소할수록, 직장 내 가족친화제도를 더 많이 이용할수록 취업상태를 지속하는 경향을 보였다. 기혼 취업 여성의 취업 중단은 특히 첫 자녀 출산을 2~3개월 앞둔 시기에 주로 나타났는데, 출산휴가 및 육아휴직과 같은 가족친화제도를 이용할 수 있는 경우 이러한 취업 중단이 발생할 가능성은 유의하게 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다.

기혼여성의 자녀 출산계획에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 (An Analysis of Married Women's Fertility Plans in Korea)

  • This paper was examined socio-demographic characteristics influencing married women's fertility plans in Korea. Few studies have focused on fertility plans by using census data, and therefore this study employs 2010 census 2% sample data. It focuses on differential characteristics influencing not only whether women have plans for additional children but also how many additional children women plan to have. Women's age, age at marriage, employment status, number of children, and number of sons are consistently associated with their fertility plans and planned number of additional children. The educational level is positively related to plans for additional children for both men and women, and the effect weakens or disappears with an increase in the planned number of additional children. The result showing consistent positive effect of the number of sons reflects son preference in Korea. Positive effects of women's high educational attainment and employment status on fertility plans may reflect the importance of economic stability but requires further research.

기업의 가족친화제도가 기혼 직장여성의 출산의향에 미치는 영향: 여성의 연령 집단별 비교 (The impact of family-friendly policies in the workplace on the childbearing intention of married-employed women: A comparison of two age groups)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between family-friendly policies in working places and the childbearing intentions of married-employed women. The analysis included 415 married working women from the 2012 wave of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Family. The factors influencing the childbearing intentions of the women were age, education, number of children under age 18, childbirth leave, childcare facilities, and flextime. The women whose work-places provided childbirth leave had stronger childbearing intentions. The women under age 35 had stronger childbearing intentions when their work-places had flextime policies. In conclusion, my recommendation is that the government should pay more attention to the micro-personal factors, such as the Family-friendly Workplace Practices proposed in this study, when executing policies to reverse the current trend of low fertility.

C. M. I에 의한 갱년기 여성의 신체 및 정신건강 평가 (Evaluation of the Mental and Physical Health Status of Women in the Involutions period using the Cornell Medical Index)

  • This study was carried on between June first and July thirty-first 1976 using as subjects women living in the areas of Pusan, Kyoung Sang Buk Do and Kyoung Sang Nam Do. The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to different environments and styles of life, namely married life, widowhood and religious life and according to ages ranging between 45 and 55. Each of these 3 groups of women of .menopausal age consisted of 50 persons and totalling a group of 150. The subjects were chosen according to random sampling and the Cornell Medical Index was applied to discover physical and mental health status with the following results : 1. The total mean scores for complaints in the group of widows was 46.00, in the group of Married women was 37.10 and in the Sisters was 34.30 showing highest scores for the widows and lowest for the Sisters. 2. The mean score percentages for physical and mental complaints 28.80 and 16.50 respectively for the Widows:27.00 and 10.80 for the Married and 24.30 and 10.20 for the Sisters. 3. The highest number of mean scores for physical items was for digestive system complaints which showed a score of 5.04, 4.78 and 4.90 respectively for Widows, Married women and Sisters among the psychic status items all 3 groups showed highest scores for complaints of inadequacy: 5.52, 3.40 and 3.64 respectively. 4. In comparing the 2 groups of Married women and Widows, the highest significant differences appeared in the items of depression and sensitivity but there was also some significant difference in the items of inadequacy, anger, miscellaneous diseases and genito-urinary system complaints. 5. In comparing the Married women and Religious groups the highest significant differences according from the highest were as follows : cardiovascular system, sensitivity, tension, nervous system, frequent illnesses and anxiety.

결혼이민여성의 산전관리 실태와 영향요인 (Current Status and Factors Affecting Prenatal Care by Married Immigrant Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting prenatal care (PNC) by married immigrant women. Methods: This study was a secondary analysis of "Reproductive Health Status of Married Immigrant Women and Policy Directions in Korea" by the Korea Institute for Health & Social Affairs. The participants were 727 married immigrant women from Asia. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, $x^2$ test and logistic regression with SPSS 14.0. Results: Of the 727 women interviewed, 91.7% visited prenatal clinic. However, first time for PNC was late and total number of PNC was lower (9.07) than the average of Korean women. Timing and number of PNC in rural area were later and fewer than those in urban area. PNC by these women was significantly lower in those who had lived in Korea longer and for those who the employed. However, PNC was significantly higher in those who attended health education during pregnancy and had not experienced premature delivery. Those who attended health education during pregnancy (OR=2.84, CI=1.49~5.40) or were unemployed (OR=0.51, CI=0.26~0.99) were more likely to have PNC. Conclusion: These findings illustrate the need to strengthen the public information and provide special services to their demands about PNC for married immigrant women.

기혼여성의 재취업 구조에 관한 사례연구 : 전업주부 재취업훈련 참가자를 중심으로 (Married Women's Return to the Workforce : Findings from the Participants in a Reemployment Training Program)

  • This study was conducted to help develop women's human resources and promote married women's return to workforce. Using various data, we examined the patterns of Korean women's economic activities over the lifecycle, career discontinuation and return to the workforce. We also interviewed twenty full-time housewives who wanted to return to workforce. The interview questions included reasons for seeking employment, desired working conditions, and difficulties in finding a job. Major findings are as follows: First, there were two groups with respect to reasons why they want employment One was an economic need such as earning basic living expenses and supporting the family. The other was self-realization and social participation. Second most women wanted to do unskilled labor such as housekeeping work, whereas some young or well-educated women looked for a professional job. Third, married women preferred part-time jobs, which were compatible with their family care demands. Most of them wanted a workplace located close to home. The women with child-care responsibility preferred working at home. Fourth, regarding difficulties of returning to workforce, they pointed out vocational ability problems due to their career discontinuation, social prejudice such as gender discrimination and psychological pressure in maintaining work and family at the same time. In order to promote employment of married women, it is required not only to change social prejudices but also to increase effectiveness in policy implementation. In addition, counseling for job-search and vocational ability training programs should be provide.
