The Impact of Consumer Evaluation on the Cause-Related Marketing

  • Cause-related Marketing (CrM) has become an increasingly popular marketing approach over the past two decades. However, neither researchers nor organizations fully understand the determinants of a successful CrM partnership. This research fills this gap. Specifically, we employ the schema theory to explore circumstances in which the CrM alliance cannot achieve a success. We use a theoretical modeling approach to report that, when consumers' typicality-based cognitive process is assumed, the CrM activity with the partners' more-discrepant attribute profile cannot be evaluated favorably, but the attribute-level uncertainty about the CrM alliance is less likely to feedback to the two partners. Furthermore, we argue that, under the schema-plus-tag model, consumers may not like the CrM program with a similar attribute profile. Therefore, this CrM approach may fail. To our knowledge, we are the first to apply the schema theory to explain how a CrM alliance can achieve a success.

  • 以前的研究已经表明零售价格促销改变消费者的购买行为以及零售商频繁的使用价格促销. 为了持续的从消费者身上获得利益, 零售商会采用几种价格促销方式. 例如, 零售商采用绝 对的降低价格($,€), 百分比价格, 或两种方法的结合(Della Bitta et al. 1981). 采用不同的价格促销类似于购买决定的形成(Monroe 1990). 框架效应是指一个问题两种在逻辑意义上相似的说法却导致了不同的决策判断(Frisch 1993). 因此, 如何陈述促销会影响消费者的交易评价并提高销售量. 事实上, 大量的营销研究已经证实了价格陈述对交易感知的影响(Lichtenstein and Bearden 1989; Urbany et al. 1988; Yadav and Monroe 1993). 从这个意义上说, 很多的营销研究已经论证了交易感知同样由消费者准确的计算折扣和最终价格的水平决定的(Estelami 2003a; Morwitz et al. 1998). 所以营销者能够通过提高计算的准确性来提高消费者对折扣的反应. 最后, 由于整体的计算误差导致低估了折扣(Kim and Kramer 2006), 消费者更容易在深度分析价格信息之后领会打折的报价,使他们能更准确地评估价格折扣. 本研究的目的是测试不同的折扣价格对消费者价格感知的影响. 更准确的来说, 本研究的目的是探索如何不同的执行相同的价格促销(语义和视觉凸显), 从而影响消费者对促销的感知和他们的购买决定. 我们的分析聚焦于价格陈述对评估, 购买意图和储蓄感知的影响. 为了验证提出的假设, 本文用实验性分析来分析几个折扣陈述. 从这个意义上来说, 我们采用一个2(数值显著陈述: 绝对和相对)x 2(语言显著陈述: 新颖的和传统的)x 2(视觉显著: 红色和蓝色)的设计来探索折扣陈述对三个因变量的影响: 评估, 购买意图和储蓄感知. 我们向受访者提供一个假设的广告, 受访者被告知报价的情况并需要对此评估. 一旦样本完成对广告的评估, 他们需要回答一份与价格显著和依赖纬度的问卷. 然后, 进行操作来确保受访者记得他们被对待的情况. 接着, 我们用一个2x2x2的多变量方差分析和随访单变量的测试来证实研究假设并检测单因子(价格显著)对评估, 购买意图和储蓄感知的影响. 结果表明, 语义和视觉显著的陈述对评估, 购买意图和储蓄感知有显著的主要影响和相互作用. 数值显著的作用显著影响评估和购买意图. 另外, 语言显著主要影响储蓄并作用与评估和购买意图. 最后, 视觉显著的相互作用对评估有显著影响. 本研究的结果的实践启示包括公司在计划基于用折扣来吸引消费者主义的促销时需要考虑. 因为价格陈述对消费者感知有重要的影响, 所以零售商应该考虑那种影响是想要的从而设计有效的折扣陈述. 特别是, 零售商应该用一种使得最终价格计算容易的传统方式来陈述折扣. 这是如此重要的调查方式使得营销者可以提高消费者心算的准确性来提高消费者对价格折扣的反应. 这个有关价格陈述对消费者反之和购买意图的影响的初步研究为未来的研究开启了方向.

  • 본 논문은 호텔의 웹사이트에 대한 인터넷 사용자들의 평가는 호텔의 등급, 규모, 소유권, 그리고 고객의 유형에 따라서 다를 것이라는 가설을 갖고 연구하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 호텔의 위치와 고객의 유형은 인터넷을 이용한 마케팅에서는 전략적 이점이 점차적으로 약해지고 있으나 호텔의 등급, 규모, 그리고 소유권 구조는 인터넷을 이용한 비즈니스 환경에서도 우위를 점하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 연구를 통하여 알 수 있었던 것은 인터넷으로 하여 도심지 호텔과 지방호텔 간의 차이가 점점 좁혀지고 있으므로 지방 호텔의 마케팅의 기회가 확대될 가능성이 있다는 것이다.

The Effect of Product Experience Through Virtual Reality on Product Evaluation

  • With the development of new technologies, virtual reality (VR) is emerging as a new consumer marketing platform. Yet, only a few studies have investigated VR in the consumption context. The current research explores how experiencing a product through VR influences consumer attitude and purchase intention for the product. Although assessing products in real life is believed to be more diagnostic than that through VR, the present research revealed that experiencing a product through VR could lead to a more positive attitude toward and higher purchase intention for the product. We also demonstrated that "enjoyment" has a mediating effect while evaluating the product through VR. To compare product experience through VR to that in real life, we employed the HTC Vive VR system to implement a VR environment. In the VR condition, participants evaluated plastic building blocks using a VR headset and a motion controller; and in the real life (reality) condition, they evaluted plastic building blocks printed using a 3D printer to make them look exactly the same as the blocks used in the VR condition. Finally, implications and suggestions are discussed.

An Evaluation of Malaysian Consumers' Perceptions Towards Products Made in Korea: An Asia Pacific Marketing Perspective

  • The objective of this paper is to examine the country of origin effect of products made in the Republic of Korea. The study focuses on the questions of the sources of information in evaluating products; the evaluation of specific product dimensions by Malaysian consumers; and consumers' assessment of different product categories. It reports on the findings of a survey conducted in which 244 responses were obtained. The most common product information source was found to be through advertisements in television and radio.. Products made in Korea had been rated highly for its product style. Consumer electronics were generally found to be the popular preference of product category by Malaysian consumers. The managerial implications of our study are discussed and the limitations of the study are also examined.

Experiencing High Loneliness Increases Evaluation of Products in Social Media Ads

  • This research investigates how loneliness affects people's preferences for products that appear in social media ads. Four studies examine the impact of loneliness that is both measured in an established scale and situationally induced via a recall task. Individuals who experience higher levels of loneliness evaluate the same products more highly when they are advertised in a social (i.e., Instagram) compared to non-social (i.e., brand website) media platform. This effect occurs because loneliness increases people's attention to others' social evaluation of a product, and social media ads provide this information via social cues such as "likes" embedded in the ads. When the social cues are absent, the advantage of advertising on social compared to non-social media for people with high (vs. low) loneliness disappears. The findings suggest that social media ads have a unique appeal for individuals experiencing loneliness and highlight the role of social cues in shaping product evaluations.

  • The objective of this study are to examine how the factors influence each other by determining the appropriate measurement standard based on the Dining-out Motives, restaurant attribute evaluation, intention of word of mouth and reusing, an effective restaurant marketing strategy on the basis of the analytical results by patrons and market segmentations. The study surveyed 321 subjects and processed the result using SPSS for Win. V. 12.1. For statistical analysis, Frequency, Factor Analysis, and Regression were put into operation. The results showed that dining-out motives and restaurant attribute evaluation had positive effects on the intention of word of mouth and reusing. Furthermore, the restaurant owners or managers will need to understand the existing market and target markets more objectively, and, through this market segmentation, formulate a marketing strategy that is appropriate for diverse desires of customers and different characteristics of restaurants.

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligent marketing service system that can provide custom advertisements and events to both businesses and customers by identifying the location and contents using the ultrasonic signals and feature information in voice signals. We also develop the encoding and decoding algorithm of ultrasonic signals for this system and analyze the performance evaluation results. With the development of the hyper-connected society, the on-line marketing has been activated and is growing in size. Existing store marketing applications have disadvantages that customers have to find out events or promotional materials that the headquarters or stores throughusing the corresponding applications whenever they visit them. To solve these problems, there are attempts to create intelligent marketing tools using GPS technology and voice recognition technology. However, this approach has difficulties in technology development due to accuracy of location and speed of comparison and retrieval of voice recognition technology, and marketing services for customer relation are also much simplified.

Also, realization possibility for restaurant prescription that latent customers who use net can raise family restaurant website revisit and substantial sale could see side. Ditto improvement way in that family restaurants construct and operate website conclusively as a marketing tool that public information is not that three offers satisfaction of most suitable to latent customers who use existent net to website as can achieve continuous role contribute.

중소기업 수출역량강화사업의 성과지표에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Indicators of SME's International Marketing Program)

  • 본 연구는 중소기업의 해외시장 개척을 돕기 위한 "중소기업 수출역량강화사업"의 성과관리가 적정하게 이루어지고 있는지를 살펴보고 개선방안을 모색함에 연구 목적을 두고 있다. 동 사업은 중소기업이 해당 사업을 통해 해외 진출의 기반을 갖추고 궁극적으로 홀로 설 수 있도록 하는 것을 정책목표로 하고 있다. 이에 논리모델을 기반으로 현행 수출역량강화사업에 대한 성과관리 평가 지표들을 분석한 결과 정량지표중심으로 구성되어 정성지표가 부족하며, 과정에 대한 평가가 부족하고 단기적 결과에만 중점을 두고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 성과측정을 위한 지표는 결과와 과정에 대한 평가가 균형을 맞추고 중장기적 결과도 함께 포함하는 방향으로 개선해야 할 것이다.
