온수 지중가온이 참외의 과실특성 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Root Zone Warming by Hot Water on Fruit Characteristics and Yield of Greenhouse- Grown Oriental Melon (Cucumis melo L.))

  • 참외 금싸라기은천을 신토좌 대목에 호접하여 저온기 참외 시설재배시 지중가온의 효과를 구명하고자 비닐 하우스내에 온수보일러를 설치하여 지하 35cm 부위에 직경 15mm의 엑셀파이프를 180cm 이랑에 2열 매설한 후 지하 20cm의 최저 지온을 17$^{\circ}C$, 21$^{\circ}C$$25^{\circ}C$로 설정하고 1월 18일부터 4월 18일까지 일정하게 유지 관리하여 무가온구와 비교 시험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1 암꽃의 개화는 무가온구에 비해 17$^{\circ}C$구는 1일, 21$^{\circ}C$구는 6일, $25^{\circ}C$구는 7일 정도 빨랐고 첫 수확 소요일수는 무가온구에 비해 17$^{\circ}C$구는 5일, 21$^{\circ}C$구는 11일, $25^{\circ}C$구는 12일 단축되었다. 2. 평균과중은 21$^{\circ}C$>$25^{\circ}C$>17$^{\circ}C$>무가온구의 순이었고 과육두께는 $25^{\circ}C$>21$^{\circ}C$>17$^{\circ}C$무가온구의 순이었다. 3. 과육부의 무기물 함량은 Mg를 제외한 N, P, K, Ca는 지온이 높을수록 흡수량이 증가하였는데, 특히 인산과 칼슘이 무가온구에 비해 고지온구에서 흡수가 많았다. 인산은 무가온구가 0.42%였으나 17$^{\circ}C$구 0.46%, 21$^{\circ}C$구는 0.59% 그리고 $25^{\circ}C$구는 0.69%였고, 칼슘은 무가온구가 0.41%였으나 17$^{\circ}C$구는 0.42%, 21$^{\circ}C$구는 0.47% 그리고 $25^{\circ}C$구에서는 0.46%였다. 4. 지중온도별 기형과율 및 발효과율은 무가온>17$^{\circ}C$>$25^{\circ}C$>21$^{\circ}C$구의 순이었고 상품과율은 21$^{\circ}C$>$25^{\circ}C$>17$^{\circ}C$>무가온구의 순이었다. 5. 초기 및 중기의 상품과수량은 $25^{\circ}C$구가 가장 많았고 그 다음은 21$^{\circ}C$, 17$^{\circ}C$, 무가온구의 순이었으나 후기에는 17$^{\circ}C$구가 가장 많았고 그 다음은 무가온, 21$^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$구의 순이었다. 10a당 상품과총수량은 무가온구의 1,490kg에 비하여 17$^{\circ}C$구가 33%, 21$^{\circ}C$구가 49%, $25^{\circ}C$구가 37% 증수하였다.

Growth of Sex Reversed Nile Tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus In a Closed Recirculating Culture System

  • Swim up fry of the Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, were fed 0 or 60 mg l7-methyltestos­terone (MT) per kg feed for 30 days. Fish that had been fed 0 or 60 ppm MT for the first 30 days were subsequently fed a commercial diet for 56 weeks to evaluate growth, survival, sex ratio, body composition, gonadosomatic index and the total edible portion. Mean body weight of MT treated group and untreated group were 1.7 g and 1.1 g, respectively at the end of the treatment for 30 days $(P<0.05)$. The experiment was terminated after a total of 60 weeks, the mean body weight of the MT treated population was 1,016 g and that of the untreated population was 762g $(P<0.05)$. However, the final mean body weight of untreated males (l, 086g) was not significantly different from treated males (l,016 g), but the mean body weight of the female group was 512 g. Therefore, the reason for the lower mean body weight of the untreated group was entirely due to stunted females. The percentage fillet yield of MT treated fish$(34.6\%)$ was not significantly different from that of the untreated males $(34.4\%)$, but the untreated females were lower than those of both treated and untreated male groups $(32.4\%)$ (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in the percentage of the all edible portion (AP) between MT treated and untreated males, but females were lower than males. Females are smaller fish in size and the gonads are larger in proportion which were discarded along with the intestine this explains the observed difference. Total biomass of the two groups were 134.8kg and 104.5kg per $m^3$, respectively. The proportion of fish reaching a marketable size of over 800 g in body weight within 14 months were $78\%$ in the MT treated group and $41\%$ in the untreated group.

약제별 및 살포시기별 자두 검은점무늬병 방제효과 (Control Efficacy of Different Types of Chemicals with Different Spraying Schedules on Plum Bacterial Black Spot)

  • 자두 검은점무늬병은 Xanthomonas arboricola pv. pruni에 의한 세균성 병해로 과실표면에 검은 반점형태의 병징이 발생하여 과실 상품성을 저하시켜 자두 재배농가에 큰 경제적 손실을 초래하는데 이러한 자두 검은점무늬병에 대한 효과적인 약제 방제체계를 개발하기 위하여 몇 종의 화학약제와 살포체계를 구성하여 휴면기중에는 동제 약제를 그리고 과실생육기중에는 항생제계열 약제를 살포하였는데 과실생육기중에서의 항생제계열 약제살포는 휴면기중의 동제 약제살포보다 높은 방제효과를 나타내었다. 자두의 개화만개 10일 후부터 10일 간격으로 3회의 항생제계열 약제살포는 93%의 높은 방제가를 얻을 수 있었는데 비해서 휴면기중의 동제 약제살포는 26-42%의 낮은 방제가를 얻는데 그쳤다. 또한 항생제계열 약제의 처음 살포시기가 개화만개 후 20일이나 30일 보다는 개화만개 후 10일에서 더 높은 방제효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

딸기 육묘를 위한 모주의 정식시기가 자묘 소질 및 본포 초기생육에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Transplant Timing of Mother Plants for Seedling Strawberries on Growth and Development of Daughter Plants and Initial Field Stage)

  • In this study, we examined the impact of transplant timing of mother plants for seedling strawberry on growth and development of daughter plants and field stage. The leaf growth of treated mother plants and crown thickness were low when transplant was performed on April $10^{th}$. Based on the results collected until July $13^{th}$, the numbers of daughter plants with more than two leaves were 20.6 and 19.5 for March $10^{th}$ and March $25^{th}$, and these values decreased by April $10^{th}$ and April $25^{th}$ showing values of 15.1 and 11.8, respectively. After seedling growth was complete, leaf area and fresh weight of the saplings were remarkably low beginning from the transplant on April $10^{th}$. Crown thickness of saplings was generally lower when transplant timing was late. After 45 days of transplant leaf length and width were noticeably lower than the transplant on April $10^{th}$ and $25^{th}$. First cluster was 100% for both the March $10^{th}$ and $25^{th}$ transplant, followed April 10th and $25^{th}$ with values of 66% and 43%. The results revealed that transplant on March $10^{th}$ and $25^{th}$ had a greater positive impact on the growth and development of the strawberry cultivar 'Seolhyang'. A supplementary study will have to be conducted to determine the relationship between the harvest period of the first cluster and the yield of marketable strawberries depending on the transplanting time of mother plants.

Chemical composition of protein concentrate prepared from Yellowfin tuna Thunnus albacares roe by cook-dried process

  • Roe is the term used to describe fish eggs (oocytes) gathered in skeins and is one of the most valuable food products from fishery sources. Thus, means of processing are required to convert the underutilized yellowfin tuna roes (YTR) into more marketable and acceptable forms as protein concentrate. Roe protein concentrates (RPCs) were prepared by cooking condition (boil-dried concentrate, BDC and steam-dried concentrate, SDC, respectively) and un-cooking condition (freeze-dried concentrate, FDC) from yellowfin tuna roe. The yield of RPCs was in the range from 22.2 to 25.3 g/100 g of roe. RPCs contained protein (72.3-77.3 %), moisture (4.3-5.6 %), lipid (10.6-11.3 %) and ash (4.3-5.7 %) as the major constituents. The prominent amino acids of RPCs were aspartic acid, 8.7-9.2, glutamic acid, 13.1-13.2, and leucine, 8.5-8.6 g/100 g of protein. Major differences were not observed in each of the amino acid. K, S, Na, and P as minerals were the major elements in RPCs. No difference noted in sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis protein band (15-100 K) possibly representing partial hydrolysis of myosin. Therefore, RPCs from YTR could be use potential protein ingredient for human food and animal feeds.

동결건조로 제조한 어류 알 농축물의 식품성분 특성 (Food Component Characteristics of Fish Roe Concentrates Prepared by Freeze-drying)

  • Fish roe is among the most valuable food resources produced by fisheries. Raw fish roe requires processing for conversion into hygienic, marketable, and consumer-acceptable forms. In this study, to investigate the food compositional characteristics of various types of fish roe, we applied vacuum freeze-drying to prepare fish roe concentrates (FRCs) from roe of Alaska pollack Theragra chlcogramma, bastard halibut Paralichythys olivaceus, and skipjack tuna Katsuwonus pelamis. The FRC yield ranged from 22.7 to 26.7 g/100 g roe. The major constituents of FRCs were protein (65.4-79.6%), moisture (2.8-6.2%), lipids (8.5-18.3%), and ash (4.8-7.2%). Potassium, sulfur, sodium, and phosphorus were the major mineral elements of FRCs, and the major amino acids were aspartic acid (9.0-10.4 g/100 g protein), glutamic acid (13.2-14.5 g/100 g protein), lysine (8.4-8.6 g/100 g protein), and leucine (8.3-9.7 g/100 g protein). Vacuum freeze-dried FRCs differed among fish species in terms of amino acid composition and electrophoresis protein band distribution. Therefore, FRCs are an excellent source of protein nutrition and an appropriate protein fortification material in human foods or animal feed.

찰옥수수에서 조명나방의 요방제 수준 설정 (Economic Thresholds for Corn Borer on Waxy Corn)

  • 찰옥수수를 가해하는 조명나방의 피해에 대한 요방제 수준을 설정하고자 페로몬 트랩을 이용한 성충의 유살량 조사와 처리구별로 피해율을 조절하여 포장시험을 수행하였다. 춘천 등 도내 5개 지역에 설치한 페로몬 트랩에 조명나방 성충이 찰옥수수 전 생육기간에 걸쳐 유인되었으며, 유살량은 춘천, 철원, 홍천 순으로 많았고, 이에 따른 찰옥수수의 피해율도 같은 경향을 나타냈다. 찰옥수수 출사기에 조명나방의 피해주율을 조절하여 수확기에 처리별로 수량을 조사한 결과, 출사기 피해주율이 11~15%일 때부터 찰옥수수상품수량이 급격히 감소하여 경제적 피해 허용수준을 초과하였으며 따라서 이 수준을 요방제 수준으로 설정하였다.

시설유형별 재배방식이 풋고추 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cultivation Type in Different Greenhouses on Growth and Yield of Green Pepper (Capsicum annuum))

  • This study was conducted to examine effect of different environment conditions in glass, PC, PET and PE greenhouses controlled by different environment control systems on the growth of green pepper. Light transmittance of 64.7% in the glass greenhouse was the highest among different green-houses. Air temperature was the highest in the glass greenhouse when ventilators were closed, and was the highest in the PE greenhouse when ventilators were open. Air relative humidity was the highest in the PE greenhouse during 24 hours. The amount of solar energy accumulated in soil was the greatest in the glass greenhouse and this energy released during the night escaped through covering materials. Latent heat and solar energy affected air temperature increased in greenhouses. The air temperature of glass greenhouse was 27.5$^{\circ}C$ at 11 O clock, which was the highest air temperature among the all greenhouse types. Clear differences were observed in leaf area and plant height at 30 days after transplanting. Days to first flowering was the shortest in the glass greenhouse with 72.7 days. Flower shedding was the greatest in the PE greenhouse with 12.6%. Days to fruit harvesting was the shortest in the glass greenhouse with 14.3 days. Fruit quality, such as fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness, and vitamin C content, was the best in the glass greenhouse. Percent marketable fruits was the highest with 95.3% when the pepper was grown hydroponically in the glass greenhouse.

토양 배지조성이 고추냉이 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Soil Physical properties on Growth in Wasabia japonica Matsum)

  • 고추냉이 물재배에서 토양의 배지조성이 고추냉이의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 시험한 결과 토양의 입경 조성은 일본에 비하여 마사토, 강모래에서는 2mm 이상의 자갈 함량이 적었고 조사의 분포가 많았다. 토양경도는 마사토와 강모래에서 상층은 $11.3{\sim}12.9$, 하층은 $12.5{\sim}15.1$ 사이에 분포하였으나, 난석에서 상층은 $5.5{\sim}5.8$, 하층은 $6.2{\sim}7.0$ 사이에 분포하여 난석의 경도가 가장 낮았다. 근계 분포는 경도가 낮은 난석에서는 좁고 깊게 분포하였으나, 경도가 높은 마사토, 강모래에서는 넓고 말게 분포하였다. 근경중은 난석에서 입수구 쪽은 766kg/10a, 퇴수구 쪽은 649kg/10a, 마사토에서 입수구 쪽은 338kg/10a, 퇴수구쪽은 334kg/10a, 강모래에서 입수구 쪽은 451kg/10a, 퇴수구 쪽은 332k9/10a로 난석 대비 입수구 쪽은 마사토 44%, 강모래 59%, 퇴수구 쪽은 마사토, 강모래 각각 51% 수준이었다.

Effects of Different Rootstocks on Fruit Quality of Grafted Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)

  • This study was conducted to examine the effect of grafted peppers (Capsicum annuum) on different rootstocks on fruit quality. Three pepper cultivars, 'Nokkwang', 'Saengsaeng Matkkwari', and 'Shinhong' were grafted onto five commercial rootstocks that are known to be resistant to Phytophtora blight. Non-grafted or auto-grafted peppers were used as controls. Grafted plants were grown during two consecutive harvest periods by semi-forcing culture (April to August) and retarding culture (September to March the subsequent year). Full size green fruits were harvested and weighed weekly from June to August (Semi-forcing culture) and from December to March of the subsequent year (Retarding culture). The fruit size, weight, flesh thickness, and firmness were measured every month. Total marketable yield was not significantly influenced by either auto-graft of 'Nokkwang', 'Saengsaeng Matkkwari', and 'Shinhong' of pepper or grafted with the five commercial rootsctocks. By contrast, grafting influenced the apparent fruit quality of peppers. Fruit characteristics differed depending on the rootstock cultivars. However, the fruit characteristics of rootstock did not affect the fruit characteristics of scion grafted onto that rootstock. Fruit characteristics in each treatment differed among harvest time (first, second, and third harvest). Fruit quality parameters were also different as affected by the harvest period. In conclusion, apparent quality and textural property of pepper fruits were influenced by not only grafting with different rootstocks but also by the harvest period and harvest time. Accordingly, rootstock/scion combination, the scion variety and the harvest period must be carefully chosen to get the desired optimal fruit quality.
