트랜섬 선미를 가지는 선박의 선미선형 설계에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Preliminary Study about the Stern Hull Form Design of Ship with Transom Stern)

  • The resistance characteristics of a trimaran are studied, varying the bottom profile and transom stern of the main hull. The bottom profile is varied in three cases (convex, flat, concave). Using the experimental and numerical methods, the resistance performance of each hull form is compared. The experiments are carried out in ship model basin, and the numerical simulations are performed by a finite-difference method, based on the Marker and Cell scheme. Euler and continuity equationsare used for the governing equations of the flaw field around a trimaran with transom stern. The agreement of both results is good. The optimal bottom profiles for transom stern are presented for law-speed and high-speed regions, respectively.

  • A Digital Wave Tank simulation technique based on a finite-difference method and a modified marker-and-cell (MAC) algorithm is applied to investigate the characteristics of nonlinear Tsunami propagations and their interactions with a 2D sloping beach and Ohkushiri island, and to predict maximum wave run-up around the island. The Navier-Stokes (NS) and continuity equation are governed in the computational domain and the boundary values updated at each time step by a finite-difference time-marching scheme in the frame of rectangular coordinate system. The fully nonlinear kinematic free-surface condition is satisfied by the modified marker-density function technique. The Nearshore Tsunami is assumed to be a solitary wave and generated from the numerical wavemaker in the developed Digital Wave Tank. The simulation results are compared with the experiments and other numerical methods based on the shallow-water wave theory.

  • The flow field around a high-speed train including cross-wind effects has been simulated. This study solves 3-D unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in the inertial frame using the iterative time marching scheme. The governing equations are differenced with 1st-order accurate backward difference scheme for the time derivatives, 3th-order accurate QUICK scheme for the convective terms and 2nd-order accurate central difference scheme for the viscous terms. The Marker-and-Cell concept was applied to efficiently solve continuity equation, which is differenced with 2nd-order accurate central difference scheme. The 4th-order artificial damping is added to the continuity equation for numerical stability. A C-H type of elliptic grid system is generated around a high-speed train including ground. The Baldwin-Lomax turbulent model was implemented to simulate the turbulent flows. To validate the present procedure, the flow around a high speed train at constant yaw angle of $45^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$ has been simulated. The simulation shows 3-D vortex generation in the lee corner. The flow separation is also observed around the rear of the train. It has concluded that the results of present study properly agree with physical flow phenomena.

  • The flow field around a three dimensional minivan-like body has been simulated. This study solves 3-D unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on a non-orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system using second-order accurate schemes for the time derivatives, and third/second-order scheme for the spatial derivatives. The Marker-and-Cell concept is applied to efficiently solve continuity equation. A H-H type of multi-block grid system is generated around a three dimensional minivan-like body. Turbulent flows have been modeled by the Baldwin-Lomax turbulent model. To validate present procedure, the flows around the Ahmed body with 12.5° of slant angle are simulated. A good agreement with other numerical results is achived. After code validation, the flows around a mimivan-like body are simulated. The simulation shows three dimensional vortex-pair just behind body. The flow separation is also observed on the rear of the body. It has concluded that the results of present study properly agreed with physical flow phenomena.

Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equations are used where Reynolds stresses are approximated by Baldwin-Lomax and Sub-Grid Scale(SGS) turbulence models. Body-fitted coordinate system is introduced to conform three dimensional ship geometries. The governing equations are discretized by a finite volume method. Temporal derivatives are approximated by the forward differencing and the convection terms are approximated by the QUICK or Kawamura scheme. The 2nd-order centered differencing is used for other spatial derivatives. Pressure and velocity fields are simultaneously iterated by the Highly Simplified Marker-And-Cell method. To verify the numerical method and turbulence models, flow fields around ships are simulated and compared to the experiments.

  • This paper describes analysis of complex flow around Car-like body using Chimera grid technique. As a computational algorithm, Pullboat and Chaussee's Diagonal algorithm is selected to reduce computational time. Introducing hole points flag to this Diagonal algorithm, an algorithm for Chimera grid is generated easily. This study solves 3-D unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on a non-orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system using second-order accurate schemes for the time derivatives, and third/second-order scheme for the spatial derivatives. The Marker-and-Cell concept is applied to efficiently solve continuity equation. 휴대인터넷에서 seamless handover를 위한 단말 이동 예측 알고리즘 (PSS Movement Prediction Algorithm for Seamless hando)

  • WiBro의 핸드오버는 IEEE 802.16e 기반인 하드 핸드오버 방법이고 핸드오버시 주위 neighbor advertisement 메시지에서 주위 cell의 상태와 RAS(Radio Access Station) ID를 확인하여 핸드오버를 한다. 이때 주변 RAS로 HO-notification 메시지를 보낸다. 예상되는 RAS로 HO-notification 메시지를 보냄으로써 불필요한 signal이 많이 발생하게 되고 핸드오버 수행 시 packet 손실이 발생한다. 이로 인하여 서비스의 품질저하가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 LPM(Last Packet Marker) 핸드오버 방법이 제안되었다. LPM 핸드오버는 핸드오버 동안 미리 data packet을 저장하기 때문에, seamless 핸드오버를 지원한다. 또한, GPS를 이용하여 PSS(Portable Subscriber Station)의 위치를 파악함으로써, 이동이 예상되는 RAS를 예측하는 방법과 선인증 과정을 이용하여 이동하고자 하는 RAS를 미리 예약하는 방법들이 제안되고 있다. LPM 핸드오버 방법과 선인증 과정을 이용한 방법은 PSS와 RAS에 부담을 주고, 많은 traffic이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 PSS 이동 예측 알고리즘을 제안한다. PSS가 history cache를 가지고 있고 history cache가 가지고 있는 과거의 핸드오버 data와 비교하여 target RAS를 정하고 HO-notification-RSP 메시지를 target RAS로부터 받을 때 crossover node에 target RAS를 알림으로써 serving RAS와 target RAS로 data 패킷을 bicast하고 target RAS는 buffer에 저장하였다가 핸드오버 완료시 전송함으로써 패킷 손실을 막고 불필요한 시그널링 트래픽을 막는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 시그널링 트래픽은 history cache가 성공시 약 48%의 traffic이 감소되었고 history cache 실패시 약 기존 핸드오버 보다 약 6%의 traffic이 증가되었다.
