소산이 고려된 보오텍스 모델과 버블 이론을 이용한 수중익 날개 끝 보오텍스 캐비테이션 거동 및 소음의 수치적 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Tip Vortex Cavitation Behavior and Noise on Hydrofoil using Dissipation Vortex Model and Bubble Theory)

  • Cavitation is the dominant noise source of the marine vehicle. Of the various types of cavitation , tip vortex cavitation is the first appearance type of marine propeller cavitation and it generates high frequency noise. In this study, tip vortex cavitation behavior and noise are numerically investigated. A numerical scheme using Eulerian flow field computation and Lagrangian particle trace approach is applied to simulate the tip vortex cavitation on the hydrofoil. Vortex flow field is simulated by combined Moore and Saffman's vortex core radius equation and Sculley vortex model. Tip vortex cavitation behavior is analyzed by coupled Rayleigh-Plesset equation and trajectory equation. The cavitation nuclei are distributed and released in the vortex flow result. Vortex cavitation trajectories and radius variations are computed according to nuclei initial size. Noise is analyzed using time dependent cavitation bubble position and radius data. This study may lay the foundation for future work on vortex cavitation study and it will provide a basis for proper underwater propeller noise control strategies.

  • 사람의 청각에 영향을 미치는 구역에 설치된 가전용품 및 기계에서 발생하는 소음을 저감하는 것은 중요하다. 특히 선박의 기관실에서 발생하는 소음은 저감이 불가능한 것으로 알려져 개선의 정도가 미미할 뿐 아니라 작업자의 청력손실이 발생하는 최악의 작업환경에 놓여져 있는 실정이다. 그러나 최근에 발전되고 있는 모니터링설비와 지능제어시스템을 이용하면 기관실의 주 엔진을 개방 해 둘 필요가 없어지게 되었다. 따라서 주 엔진의 주변을 흡음 및 차음벽으로 차단하여 기관실의 소음을 개선할 수 있는 계기가 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소음을 흡수할 수 있는 차음벽의 성능을 높이기 위해 헬름홀츠 공영기의 원리를 적용한 흡음벽에 대하여 연구하였다.

제주 연안에서 어획된 붕장어의 청각 능력 (Hearing Ability of Conger eel Conger myriaster caught in the Coast of jeju Island)

  • In order to obtain the fundamental data about the behavior of conger by underwater audible sound, this experiment was carried out to investigate the hearing ability of Conger eel Conger myriaster which was in the coast of Jeju Island by heartbeat conditioning method using pure tones coupled with a delayed electric shock. The audible range of conger eel extended from 50Hz to 300Hz with a peak sensitivity at 80Hz including less sensitivity over 200Hz. The mean auditory thresholds of conger eel at the frequencies of 50Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz and 300Hz were 105dB, 92dB, 96dB, 128dB and 140dB, respectively. The positive response of conger eel was not evident after the sound projection of over 200Hz. At the results, the sensitive frequency range of conger eel is narrow in spite of swim bladder. Auditory masking was determined for Conger eel by using masking stimuli with the spectrum level range of about 60~70dB (0dB re $1{\mu}Pa/\sqrt{Hz}$). According to white noise level, the auditory thresholds increased as compared with thresholds in a quiet background noise including critical ratio at 68dB of white noise from minimum 26dB to maximum 30dB at test frequencies of 80Hz and 100Hz. The noise spectrum level at the start of masking was distributed at the range of about 68dB within 80~100Hz.

  • In the reduction gears for marine propulsion engine such as turbine or high speed diesel engine, the standard involute double helical gears are generally used. However the addendum modification gear can be used in the reduction gear as it has flexibility for gear design on the tooth strength, scoring and operating noise. In this case, the determination of gear shaft bearing load is difficult by the alternation of operating pressure angle. In this paper, the formulas of bearing load according to the arrangements of the reduction gears are derived and the diagrams of operating pressure angle according to the modification coefficient are presented.

실습선 가야호의 항해 중 선내 소음에 대한 승선환경 (Boarding Environment of Training Ship KAYA to the Noise during the Voyage)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of the noise level on the boarding environment in a stern trawl ship, KAYA(GT: 1,737 tons, Pukyong National University). We measured the noise level at a working, an accommodation and a teaching area, and an engine space on January 9, 2010 while the KAYA was sailing on a liner sea route. At the working area, the ranges of the noise rating number(NRN) and the NRN determination frequency(FNRN) were from 44 to 73 and from 1000 to 2000Hz, respectively. The results were generally satisfied the criteria of the International Maritime Organization(IMO). The noise level at the area, except the radio room(w2), was exceeded the criteria(50dB(A)) for the efficient studying and working. The noise level at the engine control room and the machine workshop was respectively exceeded 1.2dB and 9.5dB than the criteria caused the conversation disturbance (70dB(A)). At the accommodation, NRN and FNRN were from 49 to 54 and from 1000 to 4000Hz, respectively. The noise level was below the criteria of IMO, but above 40dB(A) caused the sleep disturbance. At the teaching area, NRN and FNRN were from 44 to 63 and from 500 to 2000Hz, respectively. The noise level was exceeded than the criteria(50dB(A)) for the efficient studying. At the engine space, NRN and FNRN were from 95 to 100 and from 2000 to 4000Hz, respectively. The noise level was above the criteria of IMO(90dB(A)) for the residence, while it was not exceeded 110dB(A) for the transient.

차음구조물의 방사음향파워로부터 고체 및 공기전파음향파워의 정량적인 분리법 (A Quantitative Separation Method of Structure and Air Borne Sound Power from the Enclosure)

  • Engine enclosures are widely adopted to reduce the noise emission in various fields of application. The radiated noise, which is due to the vibration of enclosure's outer surface, is composed of two kinds of sound power with different path of propagation. One is the 'structure-borne sound power' which stems from the engine's vibratory force applied to the structure of enclosure through the mounting parts of engine etc., while the other is the 'air-borne sound power' which is originated by the sound power radiated from the engine surface to the inner space of enclosure that should excite the vibration of enclosure from inside. In order to get a most efficient engine enclosure is required a profound consideration upon the above structure-borne and air-borne noise, since the guiding principle of countermeasure for each noise is quite different. The controlling of input vibration and its isolation are major subject for the structure-borne sound power and the specifications of absorbing member and damping panels are the major interests for the air-borne sound power. Hence it seems very efficient to separate the total sound power into two categories with a great accuracy when one think of further reduction of engine noise from the exciting enclosure, however, its separating methods have not been made clear for many years. Then author proposes a new practical separation method of two propagation path's contribution to the total radiation sound power for the enclosure under the engine operating condition.

  • The finite difference lattice Boltzmann method(FDLBM) is a quite recent approach for simulating fluid flow, which has been proven as a valid and efficient tool in a variety of complex flow problems. It is considered an attractive alternative to conventional FDM and FVM, because it recovers the Navier-Stokes equations and is computationally more stable, and easily parallelizable to simulate for various laminar flows and a direct simulation of aerodynamics sounds. However, the research of a numerical simulation of turbulent flow by FDLBM, which is important to analyze the structure of turbulent flow in engineering fields, is not carried out. In this research, the FDLBM built in the turbulent model is applied, and a flowfield around 2-dimensional square to validate the applied model with 2D9V is simulated. Besides, 2D computation of the cavity noise generated by flow over a cavity at a Mach number of 0.1 and a Reynolds number based on cavity depth of 5000 is calculated. The computation result is well presented a understanding of the physical phenomenon of tonal noise occurred primarily by well-jet shear layer and vortex shedding and an aeroacoustic feedback loop.

Relative azimuth estimation algorithm using rotational displacement

  • Recently, indoor localization systems based on wireless sensor networks have received a great deal of attention because they help achieve high accuracy in position determination by using various algorithms. In order to minimize the error in the estimated azimuth that can occur owing to sensor drift and recursive calculation in these algorithms, we propose a novel relative azimuth estimation algorithm. The advantages of the proposed technique in an indoor environment are that an improved weight average filter is used to effectively reduce impulse noise from the raw data acquired from nodes with inherent errors and a rotational displacement algorithm is applied to obtain a precise relative azimuth without using additional sensors, which can be affected by electromagnetic noise. Results from simulations show that the proposed filter reduces the impulse noise, and the acquired estimation error does not accumulate with time by using proposed algorithm.

  • 난류유동에 의한 소음은 계산비용의 관점에서 음향 상사법을 이용하여 전산유체 기법과 결합해 다양한 해석모델이 연구되고 있다. FW-H 음향상사법을 이용한 유동소음해석의 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으나, 기존 문헌들의 결과에서는 계산비용의 관점에서 난류유동에 의한 소음성분을 생략하고 있다. 그러나, 최근의 연구에서 유동소음특성에 있어 난류소음의 중요성이 밝혀진바 있다. 본 논문에서는 RANS 난류모델과 투과성 경계면을 이용한 Permeable FW-H 음향상사법을 이용한 난류유동소음해석에 대해 연구하였다. 2D실린더에 대하여 직접적으로 변동압력을 추출하는 직접법과 난류성분을 고려하지 않은 FW-H 상사법, 또 난류소음의 성분을 포함하는 Permeable FW-H 방법의 경우를 비교하였다. Permeable FW-H 방법을 통해 일반적으로 적용되는 FW-H 방법에서 해석 불가능한 난류에 의한 소음의 영향을 기존의 FW-H 방법과 동일한 계산비용으로 예측할 수 있었고, 적절한 투과성 경계면 설정을 통해 높은 정확도의 해석이 가능했다. Permeable FW-H 방법을 통한 난류유동해석 절차를 확립하였으며, 그 유용성을 확인했다.

선박용 4행정 디젤엔진의 크랭크축 강도해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strength Analysis of Crankshaft for 4 Stroke Marine Diesel Engine)

  • Marine diesel engine production and refinements sought a continuous increase on mean effective pressure and thermal efficiency. These results in increased maximum combustion pressure within the cylinder and vibratory torque in crankshaft. As such, crankshaft should be designed and compacted within its fatigue strength. In this paper, the 8H25/33P($3,155ps{\times}900rpm$) engine for ship propulsion was selected as a case study, and tile strength analysis of its crankshaft is carried out by. simplified method recommended by IACS M53 and a detailed method with the crankshaft assumed as a continuous beam and bearing supported in its flexibility. The results of these two methods are compared with each other.
