The Detection of Rectangular Shape Objects Using Matching Schema

  • Rectangular shape detection plays an important role in many image recognition systems. However, it requires continued research for its improved performance. In this study, we propose a strong rectangular shape detection algorithm, which combines the canny edge and line detection algorithms based on the perpendicularity and parallelism of a rectangle. First, we use the canny edge detection algorithm in order to obtain an image edge map. We then find the edge of the contour by using the connected component and find each edge contour from the edge map by using a DP (douglas-peucker) algorithm, and convert the contour into a polyline segment by using a DP algorithm. Each of the segments is compared with each other to calculate parallelism, whether or not the segment intersects the perpendicularity intersecting corner necessary to detect the rectangular shape. Using the perpendicularity and the parallelism, the four best line segments are selected and whether a determined the rectangular shape about the combination. According to the result of the experiment, the proposed rectangular shape detection algorithm strongly showed the size, location, direction, and color of the various objects. In addition, the proposed algorithm is applied to the license plate detecting and it wants to show the strength of the results.

Ligand Based HQSAR Analysis of CRTh2 Antagonists

  • CRTh2 receptor is an important mediator of the inflammatory effects and act as beneficial target for the treatment of asthma, COPD, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis. In the present work, Hologram QSAR studies were conducted on a series of 50 training set CRTh2 antagonists (2-(2-(benzylthio)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl acetic acids). The best HQSAR model was obtained using atoms, bonds, connections and donor/acceptor as fragment distinction parameter using hologram length 257 and 6 components with fragment size of minimum 7 and maximum 10. Significant cross-validated correlation coefficient ($q^2=0.786$) and non cross-validated correlation coefficients ($r^2=0.954$) were obtained. The model was then used to evaluate the 15 external test compounds which are not included in the training set and the predicted values were in good agreement with the experimental results ($r^2_{pred}=0.739$). Contribution map show that presence of C ring and its substituents makes big contributions for activities. The HQSAR model and analysis from the contribution map could be useful for further design of novel structurally related CRTh2 antagonists.

자율수상선을 이용한 수중 자기장 지도 작성 (Underwater Magnetic Field Mapping Using an Autonomous Surface Vehicle)

  • Geomagnetic field signals have potential for use in underwater navigation and geophysical surveys. To map underwater geomagnetic fields, we propose a method that exploits an autonomous surface vehicle. In our system, a magnetometer is rigidly attached to the vehicle and not towed by a cable, minimizing the system's size and complexity but requiring a dedicated calibration procedure due to magnetic distortion caused by the vehicle. Conventional 2D methods can be employed for the calibration by assuming the horizontal movement of the magnetometer, whereas the proposed 3D approach can correct for horizontal misalignment of the sensor. Our method does not require a supporting crane system to rotate the vehicle, and calibrates and maps simultaneously by exploiting data obtained from field operation. The proposed method has been verified experimentally in inland waters, generating a magnetic field map of the test area that is of much higher resolution than the public magnetic field data.

가스사출성형을 이용한 자동차 내장부품 개발 사례에 관한 연구 (A Case Study on Development of Automotive Interior Parts using Gas Assisted Injection Molding Process)

  • Gas assisted injection molding (GAIM) is an innovative low-pressure injection molding technique that can provide numerous benefits such as reduced part warpage, excellent surface quality without sink marks, low injection pressure and greater design flexibility. However, adoptions of GAIM may cause unexpected defects since it requires many subtle design factors such as resin shot size, delay time and gas injection pressure, which wouldn't be considered in conventional injection molding process. Therefore, experiences applying GAIM should be collected and examined in order to establish design rules of the new technique. The purpose of this paper is to summarize developing cases of three automotive interior parts such as instrument panel, map pocket folding and center facia side panel so that possibilities and limitations of GAIM were examined. As a result, it is necessary to consider characteristics of GAIM at the initial stage of part design in order to obtain various advantages of the GAIM process without occurring severe defects, which would increase time and cost required to the part development.

신체적 다양성을 고려한 인체측정학적 설계 방법 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of an Anthropometric Design Method Considering Physical Human Variabilities)

  • The present study developed an anthropometric design method accommodating physical human variabilities for user-centered product development. The proposed design method is based on the boundary zone method, a technique to generate a group of humanoids properly representing the body size diversity of thedesign target population. In addition, the anthropometric design method considers the variability of postures in the design process by incorporating the simulation of posture. The effectiveness of the proposed design method was evaluated in terms of multivariate accommodation percentage (MAP) by applying it to designing a computer workstation with 90% of accommodation percentage. The performance evaluation showed that the MAP (89%) of the computer workstation design produced by the proposed method was quite close to the designated accommodation percentage. The proposed design method can be of use to develop an effective anthropometric design for user-centered product development.

  • 기존의 축척방법을 개선하기 위하여 실험 데이터나 엔진 제작사에서 제공된 일부 데이터로부터 일련의 구성품 성능선도들을 구하고, MATLAB 프로그램의 다항식을 이용하여 새롭게 성능선도를 구성하는 축척방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 소형 터보축 엔진의 실험 데이터를 이용하여 새로 제안된 기법을 검증하였고, 실제 항공기 엔진인 PT6A-62에 새로 제안된 기법을 적용하여 보았다. 여기서 얻어진 구성품 성능선도로 성능해석을 수행한 결과를 실제 엔진 성능 데이터, 기존의 축척방법으로 얻어진 구성품 성능선도로 성능해석을 수행한 결과와 비교하였다.

  • 안티퓨즈 MOS 커패시터를 기반으로 제작된 OTP 소자의 수율은 프로그램 과정에서 입력 저항(Rin)값과 통과 트랜지스터(Pass Tr)의 크기, 데이터 읽기 과정에서 읽기 트랜지스터(Read Tr)와 읽기 전압에 영향을 받는다. 따라서 수율에 영향을 주는 요소를 분석하기 위해 여러 가지 실험 조건을 달리하여 각각의 조건에 대해 블로잉 후 실효소자의 저항 특성에 대한 풀 맵(full map) 데이터를 얻어 OTP 소자가 어떻게 동작하는지를 분석하여 수율 개선에 필요한 최적 조건을 연구하였다. 최적 조건은 입력저항이 $50{\Omega}$, 통과 트랜지스터의 W값이 $10{\mu}m$, 읽기 전압이 2.8 V 일 때이다.

  • The ring rolling design for a large-scale Ti-6Al-4V alloy ring was performed with a calculation method and FEM simulation. The ring rolling design includes geometry design and optimization of process variables. The calculation method was to determine geometry design such as initial billet and blank size, and final rolled ring shape. A commercial FEM code, SHAPE was used to simulate the effect of process variables in ring rolling on the distribution of the internal state variables such as strain, strain rate and temperature. In order to predict the forming defects during ring rolling, the process-map approach based on Ziegler's instability criterion was used with FEM simulation. Finally, an optimum process design to obtain sound Ti-6Al-4V rings without forming defects was suggested through combined approach of Ziegler's instability map and FEM simulation results.

다시점 동영상의 중간시점영상 생성을 위한 변이 예측 기법 (Disparity Estimation for Intermediate View Reconstruction of Multi-view Video)

  • 본 논문은 다시점 카메라로부터 획득된 영상을 이용하여 영상내의 모든 화소에 대한 정확한 변이 정보를 구하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 객체의 경계 정보를 고려하여 초기 변이를 예측한 후 획득된 변이 정보를 이용하여 탐색 범위를 줄임으로 써 효율적으로 변이를 예측한다. 또한 가변 블록을 사용하여 텍스쳐 정보가 부족한 영역과 경계부분에서 발생하는 오정합 문제를 줄일 수 있다. 획득된 변이 맵 정보를 이용하여 중간시점영상을 생성한 결과 기존의 블록기반 변이 추정방식과 화소기반의 변이 예측방식에 비해 $0.1dB{\sim}1.2dB$의 PSNR(Peak signal to noise ratio)이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

운전자 정적 거동 특성을 이용한 차량 패키지 개선용 등가 인지지도 개발 (Development of Iso-Perception Maps to Improve the Driver Workspace Using Drivers' Static Behaviors)

  • This study was aimed at developing 1) iso-perception maps for various groups of drivers in terms of age, gender, and anthropometry and 2) the experiment framework required for obtaining subjective and objective measures. A total of 9 maps, which describe drivers' perceptions regarding their static behaviors inside a typical mid-size sedan, can be used to improve the utilization of the limited driver workspace, and to select better design alternatives for occupant packaging. An adjustable seating buck, $a^{***}$-camera motion capture system (Vicon), and $a^{**}$-channel EMG system were used for the experiment. Each iso-perception map was developed while H-PT, steering wheel center, or TGS knob center was moved to each of pre-defined positions relative to driver-selected positions. Adjustable ranges or positions of the seat, steering wheel, and TGS lever described in iso-perception maps can be used to determine better package layout alternatives.
