자동차 가상생산 기술 적용 (II) - 차체공장 가상플랜트 구축 및 운영 (Virtual Manufacturing for an Automotive Company (II) - Constuction and Operation of a Virtual Body Shop)

  • Virtual Manufacturing is a technology facilitating effective development and agile production of products via computer models representing physical and logical schema and the behavior of the real manufacturing systems. For the successful application of this technology, a virtual plant as a well-designed and integrated environment is essential. We propose a series of systematic approaches and effective methods for construction and operation of a virtual plant in this paper, such as a 3-D CAD modeling, cell and line simulations and databases. We developed key technologies for measuring and 3-D CAD modeling of many equipments, facilities and structures of the buildings. In order to study the benefit of virtual manufacturing, we constructed a sophisticated virtual plant model of a Korean automotive company's body shop, and conducted precise simulations of unit cell, lines and the whole plant. We could obtain the benefit of savings in time and cost in many manufacturing preparation activities in the new car development processes.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present how to prepare pro forma manufacturing cost, and profit and loss statements using the historical data of the industry to which the project under consideration belong to. This approach is proposed because it is relatively simple compared with possible alternative methods. The approach proposed here can be used in countries other than Korean if relevant historical data is available. An example is shown.

  • Technical advances in manufacturing techniques and applied technologies have been made for bi cell manufacture, and are currently being implemented in the areas of discrete electrode / bi cell assembly, and electrode / separator lamination. Not only have improvements been noted in the reliability of the mechanical assembly and the increase in yields and decrease in costs, battery electrical performance has also been enhanced thru these assembly techniques. Evidence has been shown that the lamination techniques can influence porosity and electrolyte dispersion, and therefore electrical performance and long term reliability of the cells.

Nanoparticles as Alternative Pesticides: Concept, Manufacturing and Activities

  • Nanotechnology, which has become an important area of science, has caused an enormous developmental revolution in many fields. In the last two decades researchers have focused on overcoming the obstacles encountered during the preparation of nanoparticles. This article highlights the nanotechnology, along with a brief description of the manufacturing, concepts and activities of nanoparticles as alternative pesticides against plant pathogens, some methods for evaluation of nanoparticles against phytopathogens in vitro and in vivo, and explains the importance of some common nanoparticle types used in agricultural applications and plant pathology.

고장초(Zizania latifolia)를 이용한 입욕제 개발제품의 선호도 조사 (Preference survey on the development of a bath preparation used by Zizania latifolia)

  • 본 연구는 고장초를 이용한 입욕제를 개발하고자 천연물질인 어성초, 녹차 및 애엽을 고장초와 혼합하여 완제품 3종류를 만들어서 선호도에 관하여 조사하였다. 향, 색, 맛 및 촉감에서 녹차와 고장초가 높은 선호도를 보였다. 고장초에 첨가할 혼합액에 대한 선호도 조사결과 어성초 50%, 녹차 30% 및 애엽 20% 비율로 만든 혼합액의 선호도가 가장 높았다. 선정된 혼합액을 가지고 고장초와 비율을 달리하여 만든 완성품에 대한 선호도 조사에서 선정된 혼합액이 40%, 고장초 60%를 첨가하여 만든 완성품이 가장 높은 선호도를 보였다. 최종 선정된 완제품 입욕제를 가지고 피부조건 변화에 대해 조사한 결과 높은 만족도를 보였다. 그러므로 고장초를 이용한 입욕제 개발은 피부를 건강하게 해주는 효능이 상승하여, 우수한 입욕제가 될 것으로 판단된다.

  • To achieve rapid new car developments and cost saving, new approaches for automotive general assembly in manufacturing preparations are needed. In this paper, CAD and DMU technologies for design and evaluation of machines and equipments are discussed. Digital Mock-up based on 3-D CAD models usually apply in the area of concept design and design review. We focus on manufacturing preparations of the machine and equipment. Detail procedures, examples and considerations of DMU are suggested in this paper. By applying DMU in the manufacturing preparations of general assembly, time, cost and quality of engineering can be enhanced through engineering collaboration.

Effects of electron beam treatment on cotton linter for the preparation of nanofibrillated cellulose

  • Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) was prepared from cotton linter after electron beam irradiation to investigate its effects on the manufacturing efficiency of the NFC preparation and the property changes by the treatment. Mechanical device (Super Masscolloider) was used to prepare the NFC and its passing frequency for each NFC preparation was recorded. More electron beam irradiation resulted in less passing frequency. Alpha cellulose content, molecular weight, crystallinity index, and thermal decomposition behavior of each treatment were lowered by electron beam treatment (10 and 100 kGy) and grinding process. NFC films were prepared to investigate their mechanical properties. There were little changes in tensile properties of the NFC films.

  • Hydrogen free diamond like carbon (DLC) films were prepared on steel substrates by using a single ion beam in a configuration that allowed sputtering of a graphite target and at the same time allowed to impact the substrate at a grazing angle. The DLC films so prepared have improved properties with increased disorder and with modest hardness that is slightly higher than previously reported values. We have studied the effects of $N_2^+$ ions implantation on such films. It is found that the implantations of nitrogen ions into DLC films lead to chemical modifications that allowed N atoms to be incorporated into the carbon network to produce a nitrogenated DLC. Nano-indentation experiments indicated that the nitrogenated films have consistently higher hardnesses ranging from 30 to 45GPa, which represents a considerable increase in surface hardness, compared with non-nitrogenated precursor films. The investigations by XPS and Raman spectroscopy suggests that the $N_2^+$ implanted DLCs had undergone both chemical and structural modifications through the incorporation of N atoms and the increased ratio of $sp^3/sp^2$ type bonding. The observed high hardness was therefore attributable to these structural and chemical modifications. This result has implication for the preparation of super hard wear resistant films required for tribological functions in devices.

  • To ensure competitiveness in the modern automotive market, material arrangements and information managements should be performed concurrently with new car developments. In automotive general assembly shops, thus, new business workflow and supporting environments are inevitable to reduce the manufacturing preparation time in developing a new car in the manner of concurrent and collaborative engineering. Since complete material arrangements for a whole general assembly system is a huge and complex job, several planners should execute their planning jobs and share information. Therefore, each planner should provide others with his/her results with continuous on-line communication and cooperation. Digital automotive general assembly factory is useful the performing concurrent and collaborative engineering and is essential for material arrangements and information managements systems. In this research, we constructed a sophisticated digital factory of an automotive general assembly shop by measuring and modeling through the parametric 3-D CAD, and a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative material arrangements for automotive general assembly via 3D mock-up is developed. By the digital general assembly shop and developed web-based system, savings in time and colt of manufacturing preparation activities are possible, and the reliability of the planning result Is greatly improved.

크림치즈 첨가량을 달리한 무스케이크의 제조특성 (Preparation Characteristics of Mousse Cake with Different Amounts of Cream Cheese)

  • In this study, the preparation characteristics of cream cheese added mousse cake which can easily be accessible among the mousse cakes, have drawn a lot of attention from the modern people, However, there have been a lack of studies that focused on the manufacturing of the mousse cake with a various added proportion rates of main ingredients, fresh cream in mousse cake by 0%, 25%, 35%, 45%, and 55%. While the sugar concentration has increased, except for the control group, there is no significant difference. In case of chromaticity, it has shown high level at L values. In addition, values have shown bigger values as increasing the added amount, and b values have shown smaller values as increasing the added amount. For moisture content, it has shown as steadily increasing by heightening the added amount of cream cheese. For texture, CM3 added by 35% in all the items, except for hardness, has shown the best result and CM3 added by all 35% in all the items, has also been evaluated as highest. Based on all the results, it can be concluded that the addition of cream cheese by 35% to fresh cream is most appropriate, on manufacturing the cream cheese mousse cake.
