We frequently use Tukey's boxplot to identify outliers in the batch of observations of the continuous variable. In doing so, we implicitly assume that the underlying distribution belongs to the family of normal distributions. Such a practice of data handling is often superficial and improper, since in reality too many variables manifest the skewness. In this short paper, we build a modified boxplot and set the outlier identification procedure by assuming that the observations are generated from the skew normal distribution (Azzalini, 1985), which is an extension of the normal distribution. Statistical performance of the proposed procedure is examined with simulated datasets.

Si:Ge alloy semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) offer challenging opportunities for integrated optoelectronics/optoplasmonics, since they potentially allow unprecedentedly strong light-matter interaction in the wavelength range of the optical communication. In this talk, we discuss the recent research efforts of my laboratory to develop optoelectronic components based on individual group IV NCs. We present experimental demonstration of the individual NC optoelectronic devices, including broadband Si:Ge nanowire (NW) photodetectors, intra NW p-n diodes, Ge NC electrooptical modulators and near-field plasmonic NW detectors, where the unique size effects at the nanometer scales commonly manifest themselves. In particular, we demonstrated a scanning photocurrent imaging technique to investigate dynamics of photocarriers in individual Si:Ge NWs, which provides spatially and spectrally resolved local information without ensemble average. Our observations represent inherent size-effects of internal gain in semiconductor NCs, thereby provide a new insight into nano optoplasmonics.

Cutaneous horns are conical, circumscribed protuberances formed by densely layered keratin. These lesions originate from basal keratinocytes and may manifest as benign, premalignant, or malignant cutaneous pathology in chronically sun-damaged areas. Complete surgical excision with histologic examination is needed for potential malignancy. In this report, we describe two elderly women presenting with solitary facial cutaneous horns, which were respectively diagnosed as actinic keratosis and squamous cell carcinoma.

Rosai-Dorfman disease is a rare disorder of unknown of etiology and is usually associated with benign proliferation of hematopoietic and fibrous tissue that often manifest in the head and neck region. We report a case of extranodal Rosai-Dorfman disease presenting in the neck, subglottis and nasal floor diagnosed by voice change.

We report an unusual case of respiratory depression and prolonged apnea after the second dose of 100-mg intravenous tramadol. Due to continuous pain at foley catheter keep site, intravenous tramadol was administered to the patient. Soon after the second dose of tramadol injection, the patient became apneic. The patient did not respond to verbal command and started exhibiting oxygen desaturation. The patient was quickly treated with 100% oxygen, and it took 4 hours for the spontaneous respiration to return to regular. This case report demonstrates that even two doses of tramadol administered intravenously may manifest as sudden and prolonged apnea. Respiratory depression with tramadol has been reported in patients with impaired renal functions and Cytochrome P(CYP) 2D6 gene duplication.

This paper presents CARMA (Cycle-Accurate Retargetable Micro-Architecture) as efficient framework for SoC-centric pipelined instruction-set architectures. It is based on ADL (Architecture Description Language) and provides more concise and manifest semantics to describe behavior of instruction set by mixing efficiency of instruction-set simulators and flexibility of RTL simulators. It exploits new timing model method based on process scheduling so it can support general timing model with cycle accuracy for large-scaled architectures usually used in SoC multimedia chip-set. According to experiments, the proposed framework was shown to be 5.5 times faster than HDL and 2.5 times faster than System-C in simulation speed so it is applicable for complex instruction-set pipelined architectures.

In the study rainfall frequency analysis attemped the many specific property data record duration it is differance from occur to error-term and probability ditribution of concern manifest. error-term analysis of method are fact sample data using method in other hand it is not appear to be fault that sample data of number to be small random variates. Therefore, day-rainfall data: to randomicity consider of this study sample data to the Monte Carlo method by randomize after data recode duration of form was choice method which compared an assumed maternal distribution from splitting frequency analysis consequence. In the conclusion, frequency analysis of chuncheon region rainfall appeared samll RMSE to the Gamma II distribution. In the rainfall frequency analysis estimate RMSE using random variates great transform, RMSE is appear that return period increasing little by little RMSE incresed and data number incresing to RMSE decreseing.

Oral mucormycosis is a fungal infection observed mainly in elderly immunocompromised patients. In rare instances, the disease occurs in healthy individuals and those patients that are below preschool age. Although this condition mainly involves the maxilla, it may also manifest in any part of the oral cavity based on the source of infection. Mucormycosis of the maxilla spreads rapidly, leading to necrosis of the palatal bone and palatal perforation. Such patients are usually rehabilitated using bone grafting or free flap surgeries. However, when surgeries are delayed, palatal prosthesis is an interim treatment modality that can prevent nasal regurgitation and aspiration of food or fluids. Palatal prostheses also help with mastication, speech, and swallowing. The present case describes a rare case of oral mucormycosis in an 18-month-old male involving the maxilla that was managed by palatal prosthesis.

In this research, by examining the influence that high quality fine aggregate and low quality fine aggregate have on the strength of concrete through tests, the manifest strength of concrete according to high quality fine aggregate was reviewed. The results showed that compared to low quality fine aggregate usage mixture, the unit volume to achieve the same liquidity decreased and accordingly the W/B also decreased therefore increasing the strength of concrete, and as high quality fine aggregate was used, it is determined that there can be improvements to the economically feasibility of usage mixture and improvement in durability etc.
