  • The purpose of the study is to develop an index for basic management diagnosis of domestic industrial crafts companies. After the verification processes aimed at experts working in industrial crafts companies, the index of basic management diagnosis that has been researched and developed so far was turned out to be inappropriate to investigate the management of industrial crafts companies, in which the organized management system is not equipped due to their small-scale business environment. It is because the current index of management diagnosis was designed for diagnosis from the functional perspective. Therefore, in this study, the new index of management diagnosis was developed in order to diagnose the management of industrial crafts companies from the process perspective. This index is divided into three elements of Plan, Do, and See, which represents the management process cycle with focus on activities of industrial crafts companies. In addition, through literature study and Focus Group Interview (FGI) based on this index, detailed aspects and items of diagnosis, and checklists were emerged. This index of management is designed for the basic management diagnosis of industrial crafts, and it is possible to figure out management problems from diverse perspectives. For further research, the effectiveness of the index of management should be verified through diagnosing the management of industrial crafts companies and grasping management problems from varied perspectives.

A mobile phone based portable healthcare monitoring system with multiple vital signals monitoring ability at real time in WSN and CDMA network is developed. This system carries out real time monitoring and local data analysis process in the mobile phone. Any detection of abnormal health condition and diagnosis at earlier stage will reduce the risk of patient's life. As an extension to the existing model, a pre-diagnosis management system (PDMS) is designed to minimize the time consuming in pre-diagnosis process in the hospital or healthcare center. An alert is sent to the web server at the healthcare center when the patient detects his health is at critical state where the immediate diagnosis is needed. Preparation of diagnosis equipments and arrangement of doctor and nurses at the hospital side can be done earlier before the arrival of patient at the hospital with the help of PDMS. • Malignant pleural effusions (MPEs) are the second leading cause of exudative pleural effusions after parapneumonic effusions. In the vast majority of cases, a MPE signifies incurable disease associated with high morbidity and mortality. Considerable advances have been made for the diagnosis of MPEs, through the development of improved methods in the specialized cytological and imaging studies. The cytological or histological confirmation of malignant cells is currently important in establishing a diagnosis. Furthermore, despite major advancements in cancer treatment for the past two decades, management of MPE remains palliative. This article presents a comprehensive review of the medical approaches for diagnosis and management of MPE.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the self-diagnosis methodology based on process for improving the effectiveness in public institutions service and to suggest it. For this goal, we would like to select the management methodology which can be easily handled from the viewpoint of working personnel in the public institutions and make it as a process. First, the strategy for the public institutions and the strategic task for practicing it are acquired using BSC (Balanced Score Card) which is now under the active research. At this time, the relative degree of significance is derived using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) which is conducted for the professionals and management to get the degree of importance in the strategic tasks. The acquired relative degree of significance and the figures related to the performance of each strategic task derived from the subsequent questionnaire are used to get the final highly efficient strategic task through IPA (Importance Performance Analysis). In this study, this process based self diagnosis methodology will be explained in detail using the case of Project A in order to verify the effectiveness of the management science technique on the self diagnosis of the public institutions.

  • Renal nutcracker syndrome (NCS) is the entrapment of the left renal vein between the abdominal aorta and superior mesenteric artery. Although uncommon in pediatric patients, early diagnosis is crucial to avoid potential severe complications, such as anemia or renal vein thrombosis. NCS presents a variety of symptoms, most commonly including "Triade's symptoms"-hematuria, proteinuria, and flank pain. Diagnosis and treatment include invasive and noninvasive management, although due to a lack of pediatric clinical studies, management is widely variable. Conservative diagnosis and treatment are recommended as a first-line option for pediatric patients; however, invasive surgical treatment may be recommended based on symptom severity. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of NCS in children to better understand the widely variable incidence, occurrence, and management from early on to allow for early-onset management.

  • In an automated industry PLC plays a central role to control the manufacturing system. Therefore, fault free operation of PLC controlled manufacturing system is essential in order to maximize a firm's productivity. On the contrary, distributed nature of manufacturing system and growing complexity of the PLC programs presented a challenging task of designing a rapid fault finding system for an uninterrupted process operation. Hence, designing an intelligent monitoring, and diagnosis system is needed for smooth functioning of the operation process. In this paper, we propose a method to continuously acquire a stream of PLC signal data from the normal operational PLC-based manufacturing system and to generate diagnosis model from the observed PLC signal data. Consequently, the generated diagnosis model is used for distinguish the possible abnormalities of manufacturing system. To verify the proposed method, we provided a suitable case study of an assembly line.
