Purpose - The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of job satisfaction related attributes on the level of life satisfaction of individuals with disabilities. Job satisfaction related elements consist of wage level, job stability, working condition, career development, and communication. Design/methodology/approach - For the data collection, this research made use of The Korean Panel Survey of Employment for people with disabilities, with the study period consisting of 2016-2018, and the number of observations measuring 4405. For the data analysis, the ordinary least square, fixed effect, and random effect regression models were used. Findings - The results indicate that the life satisfaction of people with disabilities is positively influenced by wage satisfaction, job stability satisfaction, working condition satisfaction, career development satisfaction, and communication satisfaction. Research implications or Originality - This study informs policy makers for the design of welfare for people with disability, specifically related to their labor conditions.

Marine casualties of vessel are said to be in most case caused by human error, but it would be valid for the assumption that the ship is built with high quality and then should be acceptable to the safety standards. It means that the inherent characteristics of a ship should be the first consideration on the safety of ship. Therefore it is basically necessary for navigator to grasp the inherent stability of his ship and ensure that the ship complies with the minimum statutory standards of stability. This study is to realize the stability of the Korean offshore large purseiner varying with loading conditions by the inclining data and some calculations. The author compared the stability of the ship with IMO criteria and domestic rule, and proposed some improvement for the safety of the ship. The results are summarized as follows ; The values of GM of the ship according to the loading condition in navigation satisfy both of the IMO criteria and the domestic rule, but in case of the area under the GZ curves between the heel angles of $30^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}$, and the heel angle occuring the maximum righting lever not satisfy the IMO rule at the fishing ground departure and arrival conditions in the haul in net situation. The initial metacentric height of the ship is very large, but the range of stability and the occurring angle of the maximum GZ are very small, so even small inclining can bring about the beam end. The best method of improvement for that is to increase the freeboard of the model among the variables.

The objective of this study was to develop erosion control dam for preventing disaster in consideration of characteristics of forested catchment near urban area, and to assess its stability and functionality to see its practicability in the field. Two types of hybrid erosion control dams were developed including debris flow prevention dam by using pillar and float board screen type and debris flow control dam by using groyne. Also, review about their static (sliding, overturning, bearing capacity) and dynamic (member force) stability was carried out. According to the result, most of the assessed items met standard safety level although there were some cases where assessed items were short of stability criteria against impact. Also, after miniature flume experiments based on the developed erosion control dam to prove structure function (material catch, deposit), it turned out the dam decreased flow sediment amount and velocity while increasing sediment-capturing capacity by 3.5 times on average compared to the one controlled without erosion control dam. When function of erosion control dam for forested catchment near urban area is quantified based on future flume experiments in a variety of conditions, the dams can be practically used in the urban area, contribution to effectively reducing debris flow damage.

The Korean government has implemented the policy for merging 141 health insurers into Korean Unified Health Insurer (KUHI) in July of 2000. The unification of multiple insurers will definitely effect the stability of financial management, equity of premium burdens and efficiency of administrative management. However, it is difficult to predict what forms the far-reaching effects of the unification would take. Thus, pursuing the unification may be express as a huge policy experiment. In order to lead the unification, which lies on a crossroad between success and failure, to the road of success, we need to infer the problems and obstacles predicted in the step-wise processes of merging organizations, finances and the systems of computing premium, and come up with the effective means to maintain the stability of financial management, to improve the equity of premium burdens and to increase the efficiency of administrative management. Thus, I first described the changes of the Korean medical insurance system, and analyzed the performances of self-employed medical insurance 1 year after the integration of societies in October of 1998. At the base of examining the stability of financial management, equity of premium burdens and efficiency of administrative management, I predicted the problems and obstacles that could occur after the unification of the multiple medical insurers, and proposed a few ways of leading the unification of the multiple medical insurers in Korea to success. The most worried factor is that insurance finance would become unstable since the expansion of premium revenues is not easy because raising the premium for all Koreans is to be difficult. In addition, the unification of insurance finance could weaken the insurer's efforts for declaring real incomes of the self-employed and increasing the collection rate of premiums from them. This weakening would be the decisive factor of lowering the equity of premium contributions between the self-employed and employees. And bureaucratization and rigidity that are unavoidable in a gigantic unified organization could lower the efficiency of administrative management. Furthermore, by having 3 labor unions in the unified organization, it is possible to experience frequent difficulties and discords among the unions and between the unions and organization. Thus, when smooth pursuing of the unification of multiple insurers gets difficult, the social expenses derived from the failure would eventually end up on all Koreans. The unification is to be performed after coming up with the ways to eradicate these worries, so that the unification of multiple insurers would step onto the road of success.

In this paper, we prove the existence, uniqueness and stability of solution for some nonlinear functional-integral equations by using generalized coupled Lipschitz condition. We prove a fixed point theorem to obtain the mentioned aim in Banach space $X=C([a,b],{\mathbb{R}})$. As application we study some volterra integral equations with linear, nonlinear and single kernel.

The design of a reliable and failsafe control system requires that sensor failures be detected and identified within acceptable time limit so that system malfunction can be prevented. This paper presents a model-based approach to sensor fault detection with applications to vehicle stability control systems. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through test data-based evaluation. Vehicle test data-based evaluation results show that the proposed fault management scheme can be used for the design of a failsafe VSCs.

The purpose of this study is to search a tendency of marital stability, and to identify the variables influencing on marital stability of urban couples. The sample was selected from the married couples living is Seoul. Total sample consisted of 476 spouses(238 couples) finally selected datum sources. The data were analyzed by the statistical method such as the fator analysis, frequency distribution, percentile, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and χ2 test analysis. The main results were as follows ; 1) In general the score of marital stability of urban couples was somewhat high. 2) Among the related variables, socio-demographic variables such as Socio-Economic Status(SES), religion, social background have turned out to be significant on the marital stability, Also, marital satisfaction and attitude toward divorce influenced marital stability. 3) The important influential variables on the marital stability were in the order of marital satisfaction, attitude toward divorce, ears of marriage. 4) Four types of marital stability are identified based on marital satisfaction and attitude toward divorce. Among the surveyed couples, 39.7% showed the most ideal pattern in the sense that they show high scores on marital satisfaction and negative attitude toward divorce. On the other hand, 25.2% showed high psychological instability that they show low scores on marital satisfaction and positive attitude toward divorce. After all the most signigicant variable relating to marital stability was marital satisfaction.

It is crucial in traffic flow management to maintain productivity and the traffic stability at the same time especially under congested traffic conditions. This issue has not been explicitly addressed under the intelligent transportation system environments. However, the ubiquitous transportation system environments make it possible to collect the data for each vehicle's position and velocity and to perform more sophisticated traffic flow management at individual vehicle or platoon level through V2V and V2I communications. In this paper, a preventive traffic flow management scheme is proposed, in which the objective is to maintain traffic flow stability while the productivity of the system is not decreased. The management scheme is proposed based on Greenshield's model because it is simple and easy to handle. It is considered that further research should be performed to evaluate the various traffic flow models.

Purpose: This study aims to uncover the mechanism of how initial fees are determined in the restaurant franchise business. Since the initial fees can be considered as a price of utilizing business models and operational knowledge of a certain franchise brand, it is critical to understand the fee decision-making process based on the strategic pricing theories. Therefore, this study investigates the influence of operational value on the determination of initial franchise fees grounded on a value-based pricing strategy. The Operational value is specifically categorized into profitability, growth, and stability of the franchise system. Research design, data, and methodology: The data used were collected through franchise disclosure documents and brand equity index provided by Korea Management Association Consulting. Data from 44 franchise restaurants during 2018 to 2021 are included in the sample. The panel dataset was analyzed by using generalized least squares estimation with R-Studio. Results: Profitability and stability positively influence initial franchise fees. However, growth did not influence initial franchise fees. Conclusions: The results of the study demonstrate that the operational value plays a critical role in determining the franchise fees. Specifically, franchisees recognize how much revenue a franchise system generates for them (i.e., profitability) and how stable the entire system is for operating business (i.e., stability) when they make purchasing decisions for franchise. The findings extend the pricing literature by applying pricing theories in the franchise fee context. Also, the study contributes to franchising and restaurant management literature by providing knowledge of how franchise fees are determined.
