가사노동 참여에 관한 한국 대기업 남성들의 경험과 인식: S재벌 직장인을 중심으로 (The Experiences and Cognition on the Participation in Domestic Chores in Korean Male Workers of a Conglomerate Company)

  • The article's purpose is to depict the experiences and cognition of Korean male workers on the relationship between work and family, in a conglomerate company. It examines the data of 11 interviews, especially focusing on the issue of participation in family lives. The cases consist of new comer employees, managerial officers, and executive personnel. According to the interviewee's report, Korean companies have drastically changed from a so called collectivistic culture to an individualisic one. In addition, the styles of their stories have changed drastically. New comers and managerial officers accentuate the importance of family in contrast to the attitudes of executive staff. These individuals also discuss the trend of increasing participation in domestic chores. However, the study does not illustrate a change in the younger generations' inner identities in relation to familial responsibility. Many of the interviewees' opinions taken from the study are almost similar in that these individuals do not encompass the lives of family in future plans. In conclusion, workers from large companiesin Korea maintain the attitude of focusing on official life one-sidedly.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 재독한인 노동이주남성의 젠더 정체성을 생애사적 사례재구성 방법에 기초해 분석하는 것이었다. 이에, 해당 남성 5명의 생애사를 재구성한 결과, 이들의 생애사를 관통하는 젠더 정체성은 '직업생활을 중시한 개인으로서의 남성' 정체성임을 발견하였다. 그리고 이러한 정체성은 직업사적 굴절이나 단절의 정도, 이주 이전의 직업과 결혼의 경험 여부에 따라 이주국의 복지를 경험하는 과정에서 연속적 혹은 비연속적으로 재생산되기도 하였고, '생계와 가사를 분담하거나 분 전담하는 남편으로서의 남성' 정체성과 결합되는 방식으로 지체적 혹은 압축적으로 분화되기도 하였음을 도출하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 의거해 사회복지와 생애사 연구에 시사하는 함의를 논의하였다.

A double-labeling marker-based method for estimating inbreeding and parental genomic components in a population under conservation

  • Objective: The objective of a conservation program is to maintain maximum genetic diversity and preserve the viability of a breed. However, the efficiency of a program is influenced by the ability to accurately measure and predict genetic diversity. Methods: To examine this question, we conducted a simulation in which common measures (i.e. heterozygosity) and novel measures (identity-by-descent probabilities and parental genomic components) were used to estimate genetic diversity within a conserved population using double-labeled single nucleotide polymorphism markers. Results: The results showed that the accuracy and sensitivity of identity-by-state probabilities and heterozygosity were close to identity by descent (IBD) probabilities, which reflect the true genetic diversity. Expected heterozygosity most closely aligned with IBD. All common measures suggested that practices used in the current Chinese pig conservation program result in a ~5% loss in genetic diversity every 10 generations. Parental genomic components were also analyzed to monitor real-time changes in genomic components for each male and female ancestor. The analysis showed that ~7.5% of male families and ~30% of female families were lost every 5 generations. After 50 generations of simulated conservation, 4 male families lost ~50% of their initial genomic components, and the genomic components for 24.8% of the female families were lost entirely. Conclusion: In summary, compared with the true genetic diversity value obtained using double-labeled markers, expected heterozygosity appears to be the optimal indicator. Parental genomic components analysis provides a more detailed picture of genetic diversity and can be used to guide conservation management practices.

성역할정체성, 자아존중감, 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도에 따른 메트로섹슈얼 소비 (Metro-sexual Consumption in Accordance with Identity of Gender Roles, Self-esteem and Cultural-Social Attitude Toward Appearance)

  • This study conducted a survey with 300 male respondents in their 20s to 50s, in order to examine the influence of personal variables, identity of gender roles, self-esteem and social-cultural attitude towards appearance on metro-sexual consumption. The findings are as follows: First, the majority of respondents experienced metro-sexual consumption in passive ways, such as purchasing cosmetics or perfume. Second, self-esteem differed by classification of identity of gender roles and the self-esteem was the most highly rated in non-classified, followed by in femininity, masculinity and androgyny. On the other hand, the non-classified group appeared to have the most highly social and cultural attitude toward appearance. Lastly, when examining the effect of personal variables, identity of gender roles, self- esteem and social-cultural attitude toward appearance on metro-sexual consumption, the results showed that the younger respondents who spend the highest monthly expenses on appearance, belong to the androgynous group and have the social-cultural attitude, are more likely to have a greater tendency towards metro-sexual consumption.

청년기 자녀의 성역할 정체감과 부모의 양육행동과의 관계 (The Adolescent's Sex Role Identity and Perceived Parent Behaviors)

  • The present study was designed to answer the following questions: 1) Is there and relationship between the adolescent's sex role identity and perceived parent behavious? 2) Is there any gender differences in perceived parent behavious? 3) Is there any interaction effect between sex role identity and gender in perceived parent behaviors? 109 male and 101 female undergraduates from the five universities in Seoul served as subjects in this investigation. Subjects were administered the Parent Behavior From (PBF) and the Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) in counterbalanced order. A4 (sex-role identity)×2(gender) multivariate analysis of variance was performed for the perceived paternal and maternal behaviors separately. The simultaneous confidence intervals for pairwise comparison were followed when the MANOVA was significant. In testing all hypotheses, .05 was used as a significance level in this study. For the perceived paternal behavious, 1) The androgynous group, compared with the undifferentiated group, reported greater father warmth, active involvement, greater encouragement of cognitive independence, cognitive curiosity, cognitive competence, achievement control, and conformity. 2) The androgynous individuals showed higher father warmth, congitive independence, curiosity, and cognitive competence than the feminine individuals. 3) The androgynous individuals were found to have significantly higher father warmth than the masculine individuals. For the perceived maternal behaviors, there was a significant difference between gender groups in conformity. Daughters reported higher conformity than sons. The interaction effect between sex-role identity and gender, however, was not found to be significant.

여성 느와르의 장르적 변주: 영화 <미옥>을 중심으로 (The Genre Variations of Female Film Noir: Focusing on the Film )

  • 본 연구는 전통적으로 여성혐오적인 장르인 한국형 느와르 장르에서 2000년대 들어 여성을 주인공으로 설정하는 사례가 목도되는 데 주목하여 최근작인 영화 <미옥>에 대한 젠더 정치학적 관점의 분석을 시도했다. 구체적으로 장르적 삼요소, 등장인물의 정체성과 가족 관계, 오이디푸스 궤적의 문제를 중심으로 내러티브 분석을 진행했다. 영화 <미옥>은 여성 주인공에게 모성애를 기입하고 남성의 순애보를 강조하는 내러티브, 여성 주인공의 생물학적 정체성을 증거하는 모성에 관한 플래시백, 남성적 관음증에 따른 거세공포를 약화하는 기호 등을 담보한다. 그리고 정체성의 분열과 가족 관계의 균열을 묘사하며 젠더 정체성의 혼란과 가족 멜로물로의 내러티브적 변질이 나타난다. 한편 영화가 여성 주인공의 모성을 타자를 품는 대안적인 특질로 확장하는 대신 생물학적인 것으로 환원하면서 여성적 오이디푸스 궤적의 완수에 실패하게 한다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 조폭 느와르라는 장르가 젠더 정치학과 긴밀한 연관을 맺고 있으며 젠더 편향에서 온전히 벗어나지 못하고 있음을 고찰할 수 있었다.

대학생의 취업대처행동에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인의 탐색 - 사회인구학적 변인과 개인내적 변인을 중심으로 (A Study on Related Variables of University Students' Coping Behavior Concerning Job-searching Problems)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the related variables of university students' coping behavior concerning job-searching problems. The subjects were 436 senior students (212 men and 224 women) enrolled in a university in Gyeongbuk Province. Survey questionnaires were used to measure undergraduate students' coping behavior concerning job-searching problems, work commitment, their will to accept downward employment, sex role identity, grade, sex, perceived SES, and major. Data were analyzed by means, standard deviations, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe' test, and regression. Results are summarized as follows: (1) Male students' level of active and supportive coping behavior was higher than female students'. Male students' level of evasive coping behavior was lower than female students'. Students who perceive their economic condition as negative were higher in active and supportive coping behavior and lower in evasive coping behavior than the students who perceive their economic condition as positive. (2) The students who were strong in work commitment were higher in active coping behavior, and lower in evasive coping behavior than those who were not. (3) The students who were willing to accept downward employment were higher in active coping behavior than those who were not.(4) The students' coping behavior concerning job-searching problems differed according to their sex role identity. (5) Work commitment and sex role identity were influential variables on university students' job-coping behavior.

사회복지 전공생의 전공만족도, 진로적응성, 진로정체감, 고용가능성, 자아탄력성이 취업스트레스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 성별에 따른 잠재평균분석 (Majoring in social work Majors satisfaction, Career adaptability, Career identity, Employability, Ego-resilience research on the effect of Careers Stress : Focusing on the latent mean analysis by Gender)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지 전공대학생들의 취업스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하는 것이다. 구조방정식을 통해 전체모형을 검증하고, 성별에 따른 집단 간의 차이가 유의미한 차이가 있는지 실증규명 하였다. 전공만족도, 진로적응성, 진로정체감, 고용가능성, 자아탄력성, 취업스트레스를 변인으로 사용 하였다. 광주지역 사회복지학과 246명의 대학생들을 연구대상으로 하였다. 분석은 구조방정식모형과 잠재평균분석을 활용 하였다. 첫째, 남성과 여성은 전공만족도, 진로적응성, 진로정체감, 고용가능성, 자아탄력성, 취업스트레스는 집단 간의 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 자아탄력성과 취업스트레스에 미치는 경로의 영향력은 없는 것으로 나타났다. 전공만족도, 진로적응성, 진로정체감, 고용가능성은 자아탄력성과 취업스트레스에 직접적인 영향력은 여성 집단에서만 유의미한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 남성 보다 여성 집단이 자아탄력성과 취업스트레스에 보다 강한 영향을 미치고 있었다. 넷째, 사회복지 전공대학생의 전공만족도, 진로적응성, 진로정체감, 고용가능성, 자아탄력성이 취업스트레스에 미치는 방식은 남녀집단에서 차이가 있었다. 여성 집단이 남성 집단보다 자아탄력성, 전공만족도, 진로정체감, 취업스트레스에 영향력을 미치고 있었다.

Identification of a Third Haplotype of the Sequence Linked to the Restorer-of-fertility (Rf) Gene and Its Implications for Male-Sterility Phenotypes in Peppers (Capsicum annuum L.)

  • Cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS), one of the most important traits in crop breeding, has been used for commercial seed production by $F_1$ hybrid cultivars of pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). To develop reliable molecular markers for allelic selection of the Restorer-of-fertility (Rf) gene, which is known to be a major determinant of pollen fertility restoration in peppers, a sequence of approximately 10 kb flanking an RAPD fragment closely linked to the Rf locus was obtained by genome walking. A homology search revealed that this sequence contained an LTR retrotransposon and a non-LTR LINE-like retrotransposon. Sequencing of this Rf-linked region to search for polymorphisms between a dominant and recessive allele revealed 98% nucleotide sequence identity between them. A third polymorphic haplotype of the Rf-linked sequence, which has 94-96% nucleotide sequence identity with the two previously isolated haplotypes, was identified among a large number of breeding lines. Utilizing polymorphic sequences in the haplotypes, PCR markers were developed for selection of particular haplotypes and used to examine the distribution of the haplotypes in diverse breeding lines, cultivars, and C. annuum germplasms. Surprisingly, the third haplotype was the predominant type in C. annuum germplasms, while its frequency in $F_1$ hybrid cultivars was relatively low. Meanwhile, analysis of breeding lines whose Rf allele genotypes and male-sterility phenotypes were already known revealed that the third haplotype was mainly present in exotic breeding lines that cause unstable male-sterility when combined with sterile cytoplasms.

손자녀를 둔 남성의 부성경험에 관한 일 연구 (The Experience of Paternity Fathers with Grandchildren)

  • Using ethnographic methods, this study identifies the meaning of paternal experiences through a series of individual one to two hour interviews with men who have grandchildren. The interviewees consisted of twelve fathers from fifty to seventy years of age and the middle SES class. The results were as follows. First, adult-children-marriage and parent transitions were found to be important changes for men on their father's perception of their role as a father. Second, fathers with grandchildren felt happiness due to their grandchildren and held grandchildren as being important. Third, protecting and supporting their families was the main focus of paternity. Forth, the period of paternal experiences with grandchildren can be called "the stage of strong grandfather identity" because men who have grandchildren put more importance in the relationship with grandchildren than do their own adult-children, and grandchildren themselves play an important role in establishing male identity.
