통합수질지수 및 오염부하자료를 이용한 공릉천 유입지천과 본류의 오염특성 분석 (Analysis of Pollution Characteristics in the Mainstream and Its Tributaries of Gongneung Stream Using Water Quality Index and Pollution Load Data)

  • In this study, we identified the major pollution-zones of the mainstream and its tributaries of Gongneung stream and investigated their pollution sources based on water quality, flowrate and pollution-load data of the stream having the characteristics of the urban-rural complex to examine the effect of the tributaries on the water quality changes in the mainstream. The water quality and flowrate data were collected for 10 months (2018 ~ 2019) at 3 points of mainstream and ten tributaries. Water quality index (WQI), load duration curve (LDC), discharge load density (DLD)and delivery ratios for each tributary were obtained so as to investigate the pollution characteristics and some of the information visualized on GIS. The main pollution-zone in the Gongneung stream was in the middle and lower streams, and the tributaries that may affect the pollution of the area were JS, JY, SL and SM. JS and SL had low WQI levels (34.7/37.5) and DLD (kg/d/㎢) of BOD and T-P were relatively high in JY (99.2/6.00) and SL (60.0/2.07). BOD and T-P delivery ratios in JS were high (0.94/0.83), suggesting that JS had significant influence on the water quality of the main pollution-zone in the Gongneung stream. Meanwhile, SM having a high T-P delivery ratio (0.97) was found to be more affected by the non-point source due to the higher LDC excess rate (%) in the low flow compared to high flow. This study provides basic data on the water quality and pollution characteristics of the Gongneung stream, and the analysis results are expected to be used as examples for identifying the main pollution-zone and tributaries of stream and their pollution sources.

낙동강 본류에 대한 질화작용의 조사연구 (A Study on Nitrification in tim Main Stream of the Naktong River)

  • This study was carried out to investigate nitrification in the main stream of the Naktong river for two times, 12-13 August and 23-26 September 1982. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The increase of nitrogen concentration was due to inflow of Geumho river, which was polluted by the municipal and industrial wastewater of Daegu city. 2. The rate constant of ammonia calculated for three reaches was high according to the stream flow and was eminently low in the reach from Goroung to Gangjung. (0.068-0.116 $day^{-1}$). This phenomena might be attributed to the sublethal or even lethal effect upon aquatic life by relatively low DO concentration and high heavy metal concentration. 3. DO consumption rate by nitrification was highest for the reach from Goroung to Daeam where was affected by Geumho river. (56.7-147.8%). This phenomena might be attributed to low DO concentration and high nitrogen concentration. Especially, the less stream flow was, the higher DO consumption was. And so, nitrification in the station where is low DO concentration, especially under the low flow condition, might cause more serious water quality management problem. Therefore, for the purpose of effective conservation of water quality in the Naktong river, it was suggested that We have more concern about the nitrogen compound, and more study on the nitrification phenomena.

하천생태계와 경관복원을 위한 도시소하천의 유지유량확보에 관한 연구 - 울산 무거천을 중심으로 - (A Study on Securing Instream Flow for Restoring Ecosystems and Riverine Aesthetics of a Degraded Urban Stream - Applied to the Mugeo Stream in the Ulsan Metropolitan Area -)

  • This study was focused on estimating instream flow, and its optimal alternative for securing the required total amount of instream flow was also researched in order to restore ecosystems and riverine aesthetics of the Mugeo Stream. the first tributary of the Taewha River flowing through the center of Ulsan. In this study the hydraulic and hydrologic conditions and water quality were investigated at specific channel reaches and representative stations of the Mugeo Stream to determine a proper estimate of instream flow. And riverine functions, such as the minimum flow, water duality conservation, fish habitat, and recreation, were considered to restore the environmental functions of the stream, As a result, the total amount of $11,500m^3/day$ was set as the target instream flow for the Mugeo Stream. It was chosen as the optimal alternative for securing the total external supply of $10,000m^3/day$ which have to be transfered from the riverbed flow diverted through the Taewha Main river at upstream of Samho bridge. The water duality throughout the Mugeo Stream channels will be improved considerably to 3-4 mg/l of BOD standard if the target instream flow is supplied and sewage is intercepted by the sanitary sewage system.

소하천에서 유로변경에 따른 수리특성 분석 (Analysis of Hydraulic Characteristics for Stream Diversion in Small Stream)

  • 본 연구는 자연하천에서 유로변경 계획구간에 대한 수리특성을 수치모형시험을 통해 분석하는 것이다. 이 연구를 통해 하천공사 특히 홍수시 피해방지와 하천의 흐름특성을 파악하는 기보자료를 제공할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 수리특성분석을 위해 1차원 모형은 HEC-RAS 모형과 2차원 유한요소모형인 RMA2 모혀이 어떻게 유로만곡부의 흐름형태와 급경사면, 복잡한 하상형태 등의 하천 흐름특성에 영향을 미치는가를 분석하는데, HEC-RAS보다 더 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

다변량 통계기법을 이용한 미호천 본류 수질특성 평가 (Assessment of Water Quality in the Miho Stream Using Multivariate Statistics)

  • 본 연구는 금강 수계 주요 지류인 미호천수계를 대상으로 수계의 공간적 특성을 조사하고, 수질분석과 통계분석을 이용하여 수질에 영향을 주는 주요인을 파악하였다. 조사 대상은 미호천 수계의 본류에서 수질측정망을 운영 중인 7개 지점으로 선정하였고, 2012년부터 2017년까지 6년간 측정망 수온 등 16개 항목, 기상자료 등을 사용하여 다변량 통계분석을 실시하였다. 수질 분석 결과, 유기물질 지표인 BOD와 COD의 6년간 평균 농도는 환경부 수질 및 수생태계 생활환경기준(하천)과 비교하여 III등급(보통)으로 나타났다. 지점별 비교 결과 질소계열과 인계열의 농도는 상류 지점에서 가장 높게 나타났으며, 이후 감소하는 경향을 보이다 수리적, 지형적 영향으로 다시 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 공간 및 수질 특성을 고려한 계층적 군집분석 결과, 총 3개의 군집으로 평가되었으며, 수계에 유입되는 오염원의 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 각 군집과 본류 전체를 대상으로 실시한 주성분 및 요인분석 결과, 각각 3~4개의 주성분이 추출되었다. 요인분석 결과 제1요인은 본류와 Cluster1,3에서 질소계열 요인과 계절적 요인, Cluster2에서 질소계열 요인과 수온으로 나타나 미호천 수계의 수질에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자는 질소계열의 농도인 것으로 나타났다.

자유류 난류와 표면 트립 와이어가 구 주위 유동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Free-Stream Turbulence and Surface Trip Wire on the Flow past a Sphere)

  • In the present study, effects of tree-stream turbulence and surface trip wire on the flow past a sphere at $Re\;=\;0.4\;{\times}\;10^5\;{\sim}\;2.8\;{\times}\;10^5$ are investigated through wind tunnel experiments. Various types of grids are installed upstream of the sphere in order to change the tree-stream turbulence intensity. In the case of surface trip wire, 0.5mm and 2mm trip wires are attached from $20^{\circ}\;{\sim}\;90^{\circ}$ at $10^{\circ}$ interval along the streamwise direction. To investigate the flow around a sphere, drag measurement using a load cell, surface-pressure measurement, surface visualization using oil-flow pattern and near-wall velocity measurement using an I-type hot-wire probe are conducted. In the variation of free-stream turbulence, the critical Reynolds number decreases and drag crisis occurs earlier with increasing turbulence intensity. With increasing Reynolds number, the laminar separation point moves downstream, but the reattachment point after laminar separation and the main separation point are fixed, resulting in constant drag coefficient at each free-stream turbulence intensity. At the supercritical regime, as Reynolds number is further increased, the separation bubble is regressed but the reattachment and the main separation points are fixed. In the case of surface trip wire directly disturbing the boundary layer flow, the critical Reynolds number decreases further with trip wire located more downstream. However, the drag coefficient after drag crisis remains constant irrespective of the trip location.

수생태계에 미치는 석산개발의 영향 - 생물군집과 입지유형을 중심으로 (Environmental Impacts of Stone Quarry Exploitation - Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Community and Quarry Locality)

  • Inorganic matters originated from stone quarries and manufacturing plants could alter the ecological characteristics of adjacent aquatic systems, especially the structure and function of benthic macroinvertebrate community. In such situation, the locality of stone quarry and the quantity of inorganic matters would be important factors that determined the disturbing strength to the benthic macroinvertebrate community. Locality patterns of stone quarries were classified into 3 types in relation to the stream ecosystem; stream-proximity, upstream-inclusion and tributary-inclusion type. In the result of species:abundance analysis, stone quarry B (upstream-inclusion type) showed geometric distribution, while others showed broken-stick distribution pattern. The benthic macroinvertebrate communities closer to stone quarries showed smaller species numbers and standing crops among all types of stone quarries. However the values of species evenness index were not seriously different between controls and directly affected sites. These results indicated that the effect of inorganic disturbance would differ from those of organic pollution that induced the highly dominant state occupied by tolerant species. Number of occurred species, standing crops, community indices and biotic indices indicated that the community of upstream-inclusion type was the most seriously damaged from the inorganic disturbance, and the community would be very simple and unstable. Tributary-inclusion stone quarry heavily damaged to tributary system in biologically, but influence to the main stream seemed to be depended on the scale of main stream. Among 3 types of stone quarry localities, stream-proximity type induced the least damages to benthic macroinvertebrate community, though the degrees of damage were different along with distances between stream and stone quarry.

낙동강수계 본류와 유입지천의 대장균군 오염도 (Coliform Pollution Status of Nakdong River and Tributaries)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze spatial and temporal patterns of bacterial pollution levels and the relationship between bacterial pollutants and environmental parameters at the main stream and tributaries of Nakdong River. Water quality data including total coliform and fecal coliform were compiled from a total of 50 monitoring sites (30 at the main stream and 20 at the tributaries) along with rainfall and discharge data for three consecutive years from 2012 to 2014. During the study periods, the geometric mean values of total coliforms and fecal coliforms in the main stream were 74 (22~465) CFU/100 mL and 8 (3~42) CFU/100 mL, respectively. The geometric mean values of total coliforms and fecal coliforms in the tributaries were 275 (36~5,145) CFU/100 mL and 6 (1~1,352) CFU/100 mL, respectively. High concentrations of fecal coliforms were observed at Gumi (M 10), Hyeonpung (M 19), Hapcheon (M 23), and Namji (M 25) in the main stream, whereas Gamcheon (T 6), Bakcheon (T 7), Geumho-gang (T 8), and Gyeseongcheon (T 16) were identified as pollution hot spots in the tributaries. Although bacterial pollution levels showed complex behavior across monitoring sites and time, the highest coliform concentrations were routinely observed in the monsoon season between July and September of each year, indicating that the pollution levels were strongly dependent on precipitation in addition to other physiochemical parameters. Statistically significant correlations were found between fecal coliform concentrations and precipitation (r=0.403, p<0.01), followed by SS (r=0.425, p<0.01), nutrient TP (r=0.388, p<0.01), organic matter COD (r=0.322, p<0.01), and PO4-P (r=0.317, p<0.01) in the main stream in the order of correlation coefficient from high to low.

낙동강(洛東江) 중류수계(中流水系)의 자정능력(自淨能力) 평가(評價) (Assessment of Self-purification Capacity along the Midstream of Nakdong River)

  • 1978년부터 1980년까지 3년간 경상북도 상주로부터 경상남도 임해진에 이르는 낙동강(洛東江) 중류(中流)의 12개 지점과 금호강(琴湖江) 및 남강하류(南江下流)의 12개 지점에서 년 4회 (1월, 4월, 7월, 10월)에 걸쳐 DO, BOD, 류양(流量)을 조사하고 이들 자료로 부터 자정능력을 조사한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 금호강(琴湖江) 하류(下流)의 계절별 1일 평균 BOD 부하량(負荷量)은 1월에 94톤, 4월에 39톤, 7월에 60톤, 10월에 54톤으로서 낙동강 본류(本流)의 주요한 오염원(汚染源)으로 인정되었다. 2) 낙동강 본류(本流)에서의 자정계수(自淨係數)를 평가(評價)한 결과 화원-현풍에서의 탈산소계수(脫酸素係數)$(K_1)$$0.21{\sim}0.59$이고 재폭기계수(再曝氣係數)는 $0.56{\sim}2.27$이었다. 그리고 본류(本流)의 산소임계곡선(酸素臨界曲線)을 보면 화원에서 급격히 감소한 용존산소가 현풍에 이르러 거의 회부(回復)현상을 나타냈다. 따라서 금호강으로 인한 낙동강 본류(洛東江 本流)의 오염(汚染)물질은 화원-현풍구간에서 희석 및 자정작용(自淨作用)으로 분해되어 현저하게 감소하였다. 즉 낙동강은 자정능력이 비교적 큰 것으로 나타났다.

한강수계의 주요 오염원별 부하량 비교분석 (Comparative Study on Loading Rate of Main Pollution Sources in Han-River)

  • The purposes of this research were constructed the database, based on graphing the present water pollution in Han-river due to livestock wastewater(LSW). The LSW was below 1% in respect to quantity but about 7% in respect to pollutants loading in overall Han-river. The ratio of untreated LSW is 18% to 28%, which was higher compared to the municipal and industrial wastewater. In other words, LSW was about 0.05 times of municipal wastewater in respects to quantity but 2 times in respect to the ratio of untreated wastewater. So, it was necessary for treating LSW. The pollutants loading due to livestock wastewater of the South Han-river, North Han-river and main stream were 19.7%, 19.4% and 4.0%, respectively. This was about 7% in overall Han-river. We separated the Han-river into upper, mid and down stream. As a result, we found that the livestock wastewater is the main water pollution source of upper Han-river.
