이중공기공급 2-유체 노즐의 선회각 변화에 따른 미립화 특성 (Effect of Swirl Angle on the Atomization Characteristics in Twin-Fluid Nozzle with Dual Air Supplying)

  • The atomization characteristics of the dual air supplying two-fluid nozzle were investigated experimentally using PIV and PDA systems. The twin-fluid nozzle is composed of three main parts: the feeding injector to supply fluid that is controlled by a PWM (pulse-width modulation) mode, the adaptor as a device with the ports for supplying the carrier and assist air, and the main nozzle to produce sprays. The main nozzle has the swirler with four equally spaced tangential slots, which gives the injecting fluid an angular momentum. The swirl angle in the swirler varied with $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$. The ratios of carrier air to assist air and ALR (total air to liquid) were 0.55 and 1.23, respectively. The macroscopic behavior of the spray was investigated using PIV system, and the AMD and SMD distributions of the sprays were measured using PDA system. As a result, the SMD distribution increases along the radial distance, and it decreases with the increase of swirl angle in swirler.

  • Because of environmental regulations in emissions control area, the demand for ships to use LNG as fuel is increasing. Orders for domestic shipbuilders to produce LNG carriers are steadily increasing. However, major appliances such as spray pump, main cargo pump and others have been relied on imports. Therefore, development of pump motor using at cryogenic temperature is necessary. Operating temperature of an induction motor is at $-163^{\circ}C$. At this low temperature, the resistivity of a motor coil is quite different from normal ones, and so does the torque characteristics of motor. This paper presents a designing method of a cryogenic induction motor for LNG pump. The variation of resistivity of motor coil is considered in the design process. The heat source such as core-loss, hysteresis-loss and copper-loss are analyzed to prevent the LNG evaporation which may cause the motor failure.

  • The scanning quality can be influenced by reflective abilities of a surface. Transparency and glossiness of a surface can highly limit the scanning results. Various techniques have been developed to solve problems of reflective and transparent surfaces. As one of the most feasible and convenient solutions, a thin layer of coating with proper specifications is sprayed on surface for eliminating the problems of the surfaces. As the main goal is to keep the object geometry unchanged, then it is important to coat the surface with layers less than one micrometer in thickness. For this purpose, a newly designed atomization-based spray system has been developed and tested in sets of experiments to study its efficiency on scanning results while objects with the surface are in use. This paper presents the spray design process and then studies and compares the 3D scanning results of the surfaces coated with atomization-based and aerosol sprays.

분무성형법에 의해 제조된 $Al-SiC)_p$ 금속기 복합재료의 미세조직과 성질에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Microstructures and Properties of $Al-SiC)_p$ Metal Matrix Composites Fabricated by Spray Forming Process)

  • 6061Al-SiCP metal matrix composite materials(MMCs) were fabricated by injecting SiCP particles directly into the atomized spray. The main attraction of this technique is the rapid fabrication of semi-finished, composite products in a combined atomization, particulate injection(10 $\mu\textrm{m}$, 40 $\mu\textrm{m}$, SiCP) and deposition operation. Conclusions obtained are as follows; The microstructure of the unreinforced spray formed 6061Al alloy consisted of relatively fine(50 $\mu\textrm{m}$) equiaxed grains. By comparision, the microstructure of the I/M materials was segregated and consisted of relatively coarse(150 $\mu\textrm{m}$) grains. The probability of clustering of SiCP particles in co-sprayed metal matrix composites increased it ceramic particle size(SiCP) was reduced and the volume fraction was held constant. Analysis of overspray powders collected from the spray atomization and deposition experiments indicated that morphology of powders were nearly spherical and degree of powders sphercity was deviated due to composite with SiCp particles. Interfacial bonding between matrix and ceramics was improved by heat treatment and addition of alloying elements(Mg). Maximum hardness values [Hv: 165 kg/mm2 for Al-10 $\mu\textrm{m}$ SiCp Hv--159 kg/mm2 for Al-40 $\mu\textrm{m}$SiCp] were obtained through the solution heat treatment at $530^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs and aging at $178^{\circ}C$, and there by the resistance were improved.

모델연소기에서의 화염 안정화에 대한 분사기와 선회기의 영향 (The Effects of Injector and Swirler on the Flame Stability in a Model Combustor)

  • The optimization of frontal device including fuel nozzle and swirler is required to secure the mixing of fuel and air and the combustion stability leading the reduction of pollutant emissions and the increase of combustion efficiency in gas turbine combustor. The effects of injection nozzle and swirler on the flow field, spray characteristics and consequently the combustion stability, were experimentally investigated by measuring the velocity field, droplet sizes of fuel spray, lean combustion limit and the temperature field in the main combustion region. Flow fields and spray characteristics were measured with APV(Adaptive Phase Doppler Velocimetry) under atmospheric condition using kerosine fuel. Temperatures were measured by Pt-Pt13%Rh, R-type thermocouple which was 0.2mm thick. Spray and flame was visualized by ICCD(Intensified Charge Coupled Device) camera. It was found that the dual swirler resulted in the biggest recirculation zone with the highest reverse flow velocity at the central region, which lead the most stable combustion. The various combustion characteristics were observed as a function of the geometries of injector and swirler, that gave a tip for the better design of gas turbine combustor.

선박 대기오염 저감을 위한 벽면 캐비티 적용 습식 사이클론의 집진특성 (Collection characteristics of wet-type cyclone with wall cavity for air pollutants removal of marine diesel engines)

  • The main object of this study was to investigate the collection characteristics of wet-type cyclone with wall cavity. The experiment was executed to analyze the characteristics of pressure drop and collection efficiency for the present system with the experimental parameters such as water spray, water spray type, inlet velocity etc. In results, for the present system of wet-type, the pressure drop represented 35 mm $H_2O$, while in dry-type 33 mm $H_2O$ showing lower 6% at $v_{in}=21m/s$. In case of $v_{in}=21m/s$ and water spray 200 mL/min, the collection efficiency of the present system became significantly higher as 96.8% comparing to that of the conventional wet-type scrubber. Additionally, for 200 mL/min, $SO_2$ removal efficiencies decreased with the increment of inlet velocity representing 75.0, 62.5, 50.0%, at $v_{in}=6,9,12m/s$, respectively.

  • Main characteristic in railroad is the guided movement of the wheel by the track through a metal-to-metal contact, conferring to the rail vehicle a single degree of freedom. There are defects such as head check, shelling, corrugation, squats etc in surface of the rail by interface between the wheel and rail. These defects bring about reducing the life-cycle of rails and track components and increasing noises. In case of bad conditions, it is possible to happen to full-scale accident such as derailment. Recently, the track capacity has been increased for increasing speed and operation efficiency. So, maintenance and indirect cost have been increased. Currently, a coating method of rail construction is proposed by using the ceramics in Korea. Rails are used as the earth in electrical railroad systems. Currently traction return current is flowed through wheels of trains. In case of rails coated, problems are caused in the contact power between wheel and coating material of spray. In this paper, electric model is presented in the AT feeding method. In case of rails coated, electric model is presented. Also, standard resistance of the ceramic is demonstrated by contact power between wheel and coating material of spray.

분무열분해법에 의한 푸른색 발광 BAM 형광체 분말의 형태 조절 (Morphology control of blue-emitting BAM phosphor particles by the spray pyrolysis)

  • The blue emitting BAM Phosphor Particles with various compositions were Prepared by the spray Pyrolysis. The effect of composition on the morphology of BAM particles was Investigated. In the case of BaMgAl$_{10}$ /O$_{22}$ : Eu$^{2+}$, the morphology of particles with sphericity and non-aggregation characteristics disappeared after post-treatment at 1400 $^{\circ}C$ for 3 hrs. On the other hand, the ocher composition particles except BaMgAl$_{10}$ /O$_{22}$ : Eu$^{2+}$ maintained their original morphology after post-treatment, even if the particles were prepared at low temperatures in the spray pryrolysis. The BAM particles with MgAl$_{2}$/O$_4$as intermediate material at low post-treatment temperature had high thermal stability and maintained sphericity of particles after post-treatment. All the samples had main omission peak at 450 nm, which corresponds to blue emission. The optimum post-treatment temperature of BAM:Eu$^{2+}$ particles for the maximum PL(photoluminescence) intensity in the spray pylolysis was 1200 $^{\circ}C$ because of high crystallinity, Phase-Purity, and good morphology.ology.

연노랑색의 절화용 스프레이 카네이션 '레오' 육성 (Breeding of Light yellow Color Spray Carnation 'Leo' for Cut Flower)

  • 노랑색 절화용 스프레이 카네이션 품종 'Leo'는 'Ballantyne'과 'West peachy' 품종을 인공 교배하여 국립원예특작과학원에서 육성되었다. 'Leo'는 1999년에 교배하여 2001-2003년까지 품종 특성을 조사하였고, 2003년에 최종 선발하였다. 'Leo'는 절화용의 연노랑 스프레이 품종으로 꽃수는 대조 품종보다 다소 적으나 개화가 빠르고 분지수가 많은 특징을 보였다. 또한 절화수명은 9일이고 시들음병에는 '중' 정도의 저항성이 있다.

분무열분해 공정에 의해 제조된 Ba2-xSrxSiO4:Eu2+ 형광체의 발광특성 (The Photoluminescence Characteristic of Ba2-xSrxSiO4:Eu2+ Phosphor Particles Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis)

  • 분무열분해법에 의해 장파장 UV 여기원 하에서 높은 발광세기를 가지는 $Ba_{2-x.}Sr_{x.}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체를 제조하였다. 분무열분해공정 의해 제조된 $Ba_{2-x.}Sr_{x.}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체의 발광특성, 분말 형태 및 결정성에 대해 조사하였다. 분무열분해 공정에 의해 제조된 $Ba_{2-x.}Sr_{x.}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체는 모체를 구성하는 바륨과 스트론튬의 비에 따라 청녹색에서 황색에 이르기까지 다양한 파장대의 색을 구현할 수 있었다. x = 0인 $Ba_2SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체의 경우 발광 중심파장이 500 nm였으며, x = 2인 $Sr_2SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체의 경우 발광중심 파장이 554 nm였다. 분무열분해 공정에 의해 제조된 $Ba_{2-x.}Sr_{x.}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체는 구형의 형상을 띄지만 중공성의 입자 특성을 가졌다. 반면에 후열처리 과정을 거친 $Ba_{2-x.}Sr_{x.}SiO_4:Eu^{2+}$ 형광체는 큰 입자 크기와 불규칙한 형태를 가졌다. $Ba_{1.488}Sr_{0.5}SiO_4:Eu_{0.012}{^{2+}}$ 형광체가 환원분위기 하에서 후열처리 온도 $1,200^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 동안 후열처리 과정을 거쳤을 때 최적의 발광 세기를 가졌다.
