자기 부상 방식 구동원리를 이용한 다자유도 정밀 위치 시스템의 최적 설계, 모델링 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Design, Modeling and Control of the Multi d.o.f Precision Positioning System Using Magnetic Levitation Actuating Principle)

  • The multi degree of freedom system using magnetic levitation has been implemented successfully. Differently from another noncontact systems, the developed system was focused on the maximization of the system stiffness under the constraint of a limited input. The variation of a relative adopting point between the magnetic pair, its location on the fixed base, and the selection of optimal specifications for the main active magnetic elements give us another chance to realize the increased robustness against external disturbances with the less control inputs. In this paper, the overall development procedures are given including the optimal design, the dynamic modeling, the various control tests, and the main issues to be solved.

  • The magnetic levitation system is utilized in the magnetic bearing of high-speed rotor because of little friction, no lubrication, no noise and so on. The magnetic levitation system need the feedback controller for the stabilization of system, and gap sensors are usually used to measure the gap. The use of sensor is troublesome such as sensor trouble, discord between the measurement point and the control point etc. This paper presents the design of robust stabilizing controller by H$_{\infty}$ control theory using the sensorless method proposed already by authors in the magnetic levitation system. And we investigated both the validity of the designed controller and the usefulness of the sensorless method proposed by authors of magnetic levitation system through results of actual experiment..

A New Model of Magnetic Force in Magnetic Levitation Systems

  • In this paper, we propose a new model of the magnetic control force exerted on the levitation object in magnetic levitation systems. The model assumes that the magnetic force is a function of the voltage applied to an electromagnet and the position of a levitation object. The function is not explicitly expressed but represented through a 2D lookup table constructed from the experimentally measured data. Unlike the conventional model that reveals only local characteristics of the magnetic force, the proposed model shows global characteristics satisfactorily. Specially devised measurement equipment is utilized in order to gather the data required for model construction. An experimental procedure to construct the model is presented. We apply the proposed model to designing a sliding mode controller for a lab-built magnetic system. The validity of the proposed model is illustrated by comparing the performances of the controller adopting the conventional model with that of the controller adopting the proposed model.

  • This paper describes an approach for synthesizing a modularized gain scheduled PD type fuzzy logic controller(FLC) of nonlinear magnetic bearing system where the gains of FLC are on-line adapted according to the operating point. Specifically the systematic procedure via root locus technique is carried out for the selection of the gains of FLC. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed gain scheduled fuzzy logic controller yields not only maximization of stability boundary but also better control performance than a single operating point (without gain scheduling)fuzzy controller.

  • In this paper, a rail-vibration controller of magnetic levitation system is designed and implemented. The target plant to be controlled is electro-magnetic type which is open-loop unstable, highly non-linear and time-varying system. The designed controller is validated by some kinds of experiments.

  • The external force disturbance is the one of the main causes that deteriorate the performance of the magnetic suspension. Thus, this paper develops a fuzzy estimator for gain scheduling control of magnetic suspension systems suffering from the unknown disturbance. The proposed fuzzy estimator computes the disturbance injected to the plant and the gain scheduled controller generates the corresponding stabilizing control input associated with the estimated disturbance. In the simulation results we confirm the novelty of the proposed control scheme comparing with the other method using a feedback linearization.

  • A magnetic levitation system with hybrid magnets, which is composed of permanent magnets and electromagnets, consumes less power than the conventional attraction type system.   • In this paper, an active magnetic bearing(AMB) system is designed and controlled using a digital Proportional-Integral-Derivative(PID) control concept. The plant dynamics consisting of actuator and rigid rotor dynamics are described. A digital PID controller with a global control and a local control concept is designed and implemented using digital signal processor. Some experiments are conducted with each global control and local control concept. These include start-up test, impulse test, whirl response, and generator load test. The experimental results and comparison between those of a global control and a local control indicate that the global control of concept has impressive static and dynamic control performance for the prototype considered. From the whirl test, the developed system set can be controlled within about $\pm10\mu\textrm{m}$ gap variation at the rotational speed of 6000rpm and generate the AC power of frequency of $60\textrm{Hz}$, voltage of 100V and current of 0.8$\textit{A}$.

Analysis of Principle and Performance of a New 4DOF Hybrid Magnetic Bearing

  • To satisfy the requirement of magnetically suspended control moment gyroscope (MSCMG) that magnetic bearing can provide torque, a novel 4DOF hybrid magnetic bearing (HMB) with integrated structure was designed. Mathematical models of forces and torques are established by using equivalent magnetic circuit method. The current stiffness, displacement stiffness, tilting current stiffness and angular stiffness of the 4DOF hybrid magnetic bearing are derived by the mathematical models. Equivalent magnetic circuit method and finite element method (FEM) simulation results indicate that the force has a good linear relationship with both displacement and current, and the torque has a good linear relationship with angular displacement and current. The novel 4DOF HMB is capable of achieving control in both two radial translational degrees of freedom (DOF) and also two radial rotational DOFs. The 4DOF HMB is well adapted to MSCMG system, exhibiting advantages in the controllable DOF, light weight and easy to control.
