  • RFID that provide automatic identification by reading a tag attached to material through radio frequency without direct touch has some specification, such as rapid identification, long distance identification and penetration, so it is being used for distribution, transportation and safety by using the frequency of 125KHz, 134KHz, 13.56MHz, 433.92MHz, 900MHz, and 2.45GHz. Also it is one of main part of Ubiquitous that means connecting to net-work any time and any place they want. RFID is expected to be new growth industry worldwide, so Korean government think it as prospective field and promote research project and exhibition business program to linked with industry effectively. RFID could be used for access control of person and vehicle according to section and for personal certify with password. RFID can provide more confident security than magnetic card, so it could be used to prevent forgery of register card, passport and the others. Active RFID could be used for protecting operation service using it's long distance date transmission by application with positioning system. And RFID's identification and tracking function can provide effective visitor management through visitor's register, personal identification, position check and can control visitor's movement in the secure area without their approval. Also RFID can make possible of the efficient management and prevention of loss of carrying equipments and others. RFID could be applied to copying machine to manager and control it's user, copying quantity and It could provide some function such as observation of copy content, access control of user. RFID tag adhered to small storage device prevent carrying out of item using the position tracking function and control carrying-in and carrying-out of material efficiently. magnetic card and smart card have been doing good job in identification and control of person, but RFID can do above functions. RFID is very useful device but we should consider the prevention of privacy during its application.

  • This is a basic research for improving soft magnetic property of Fe based nano crystalline alloy powder core. The main study is done around characteristics of permeability, core loss, and DC bias depending on amount of insulation coating agent and particle size. First, $Fe_{73.5}Si_{13.5}B_9Nb_3Cu_1$ amorphous alloy ribbon was fabricated by using the planar flow casting (PFC) device. Then, heat treatment and ball milling were done to obtain alloy powder. The amount of polyether imide (PEI) added to it was varied by 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 2.5 wt% to have compression molding into $16ton/cm^2$. After going through crystalline heat treatment, the made toroidal nano crystalline powder core ($OD12.7mm^*ID7.62mm^*H4.75mm$) had smaller permeability as amount of insulation coating agent decreases. However, it was found out that core loss and DC bias characteristics have been improved. The reason for this results were expected to be because green density of power core decreases as amorphous alloy powder particles become smaller as amount of alloy powder insulation coating agent increases, it was determined that 1 wt% of insulation coating agent is appropriate. Also, for powder core made based on alloy powder size with amount of insulation coating agent fixed at 1 wt%, effective permeability and core loss were outstanding as particle size became bigger. However, characteristics of DC bias became worse as applied DC field increases. This is expected to be due to insulation effect, residual pores, or molding density of powder core resulting from thickness of coating on surface of alloy powder.

  • After preparing $Mg_2Ni_{1-x}{^{57}}Fe_x$(x=0.015, 0.03, 0.06, 0.12 and 0.24) alloys, they were studied by $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ resonance. The $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra of x=0.015 and 0.03 alloys exhibit two doublets (doublet 1, 2). That of x=0.06 alloys shows two doublets (doublet 1,2) and one six-line, and those of x=0.12 and 0.24 alloys have only one six-line. The doublet 1 for x=0.015, 0.03 and 0.06 alloys is considered to result from a fraction of Fe in excess showing a superparamagnetic behavior. The doublet 2 is considered to result from the Fe substituted for Ni in the $Mg_2Ni$ phase. The values of isomer shift 0.24 ~ 0.28 mm/s suggest that the iron exist in the state $Fe^{+3}$. The result that the quadrapole splitting of the doublet 2 is not zero shows that the distribution of electrons around the iron is asymmetric. Their values for the doublet 2, 1.20 ~ 1.38 mm/s, approach the value of quadrapole for the oxidation number +3. The six-line showing the magnetic hyperfine interactions results from the iron which has not substituted the nickel in the $Mg_2Ni$ phase. The $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra of the hydrided alloys with x=0.015 and 0.03 show six-line. This suggests that the iron segregates with the hydriding reaction. The analysis results of the $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectrum, the variation of magnetization with magnetic field, Auger electron spectroscopy and electron diffraction show the segregation of Ni and the formation of MgO. This is considered to result from the reaction of the $Mg_2Ni$ phase with the oxygen contained in the hydrogen as impurity.

  • Purpose : The relaxation times of tissue in MRI depend on strength of magnetic field, morphology of nuclear, viscosity, size of molecules and temperature. This study intended to analyze quantitatively that materials' temperatures have effects on T1 and T2 relaxation times without changing of other conditions. Materials and Methods : The equipment was used MAGNETOM SKYRA of 3.0T(SIEMENS, Erlagen, Germany), 32 channel spine coil and Gd-DTPA water concentration phantom. To find out T1 relaxation time, Inversion Recovery Spin Echo sequences were used at 50, 400, 1100, 2500 ms of TI. To find out T2 relaxation time, Multi Echo Spin Echo sequences were used at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180, 210, 240, 270 ms of TE. This experiment was scanned with 5 steps from 25 to $45^{\circ}C$. next, using MRmap(Messroghli, BMC Medical Imaging, 2012) T1 and T2 relaxation times were mapped. on the Piview STAR v5.0(Infinitt, Seoul, Korea) 5 steps were measured as the same ROI, and then mean values were calculated. Correlation between the temperatures and relaxation times were analyzed by SPSS(version 17.0, Chicago, IL, USA). Results : According to increase of temperatures, T1 relaxation times were $214.39{\pm}0.25$, $236.02{\pm}0.87$, $267.47{\pm}0.48$, $299.44{\pm}0.64$, $330.19{\pm}1.72$ ms. T2 relaxation times were $180.17{\pm}0.27$, $197.17{\pm}0.44$, $217.92{\pm}0.39$, $239.89{\pm}0.53$, $257.40{\pm}1.77$ ms. With the correlation analysis, the correlation coefficients of T1 and T2 relaxation times were statistically significant at 0.998 and 0.999 (p< 0.05). Conclusion : T1 and T2 relaxation times are increased as temperature of tissue goes up. In conclusion, we suggest to recognize errors of relaxation time caused local temperature's differences, and consider external factors as well in the quantitative analysis of relaxation time or clinical tests.

  • The safety of aircraft can be threatened by environmental factors, such as icing, turbulence, and lightning strike. Due to its adverse effects on aircraft structure and electronic components of aircraft, lightning strike is one of the biggest hazards on aircraft safety. Lightning strike can inject high voltage electric current to the aircraft, which may generate strong magnetic field and extreme hot spots, leading to severe damage of structure or other equipment in aircraft. In this work, mechanism of lightning strike and associated direct and indirect effects of lightning on aircraft were studied. First, on the basis of aircraft lightning regulations provided by Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP), we considered different lightning waveform and zones of an aircraft. A coupled thermal-electrical computational model of ABAQUS was then used for simulating flow of heat and electric current caused by a lightning strike. A study on fuel tank, with and without lightning protection system, was also conducted using the computational model. Finally, electric current flow on two full scale airframes was analyzed using the EMA3D code.

  • For an unbiased TF (Tansfer Function) estimations we investigate geomagnetic TF derived from ICHEON and YONGIN sites, employing RR (Remote Reference) and SNS (Signal Noise Separation) techniques. The Rh technique, which requires synchronized field variations recorded at a clean remote site, is a reliable method to minimize the bias of TF by uncorrelated noises in magnetic channels. Meanwhile, SNS technique based on the assumption of noise-free remote data can improve the signal-noise level by separating signal TF and noise TF, which is successfully applied to the environments with strong correlated noises. In this study, TF at YONGIN is analyzed using geomagnetic data from ICHEON site as a remote reference, which seem to have somewhat better data quality. The application of Rh technique reduces the bias of TF, which appears in single site robust estimation, and makes curves in the amplitude and phase of TF more smooth as frequency. Futhermore, in order to investigate noise source quantitatively, SNS technique is applied. The results of SNS suggest that dominant noise source seems to be located at western region of YONGIN. This noise source is considered to originate from railway system such as KTX and national subway. which passes through the west regions of YONGIN.

  • Prototype of $800{\ell}$ vacuum web coater (Vic Mama) consisting of ion source with low energy less than 250 eV for high speed surface modification and 4 magnetron sputter cathodes was designed and constructed. Its performance was evaluated through fabricating the adhesiveless flexible copper clad laminate (FCCL). Pumping speed was monitored in both upper noncoating zone pumped down by 2 turbo pumps with 2000 l/sec pumping speed and lower surface modification and sputter zone vacuumed by turbo pumps with 450 1/sec and 1300 1/sec pumping speed respectively. Ion current density, plasma density, and uniformity of ion beam current were measured using Faraday cup and the distribution of magnetic field and erosion efficiency of sputter target were also investigated. With the irradiation of ion beams on polyimide (Kapton-E, $38{\mu}m$) at different fluences, the change of wetting angle of the deionized water to polyimide surface and those of surface chemical bonding were analyzed by wetting anglometer and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. After investigating the deposition rate of Ni-Cr tie layer and Cu layer was investigated with the variations of roll speed and input power to sputter cathode. FCCL fabricated by sputter and electrodeposition method and characterized in terms of the peel strength, thermal and chemical stability.

  • $AB_2X_4$(A, B=Transition Metal, X=O, S, Se) are cubic spinel normal ferrimagnets, in which M ions occupy the tetrahedral sites and Cr ions occupy the octahedral sites. Recently, they have been investigated for behaviour of B site ions and A-B interaction. Polycrystalline $[Co_{0.9}Zn_{0.1}]_A[Cr_{1.98}{^{57}Fe_{0.02}}]_BO_4$ compound was prepared by wet-chemical process. The ferrimagnetic transition was observed around 90K. $M\"{o}ssbauer$ absorption spectra at 4.2K show that the well-developed two sextets are superposed with small difference in hyperfine fields($H_{hf}$). The hyperfine fields of $CoCr_{1.98}{^{57}Fe_{0.02}}O_4$ and $Co_{0.9}Zn_{0.1}Cr_{1.98}{^{57}Fe_{0.02}}O_4$ were determined to be 488, 478 kOe and 486, 468 kOe, respectively. We notice that the one of the magnetic hyperfine field values changes with Zn ion substitution. These results suggest the incommensurate states and spin-reorientation temperature($T_S=18K$) changes with Zn ions substitution below spin-reorientation temperature($T_S=28K$) of $CoCr_{1.98}{^{57}Fe_{0.02}}O_4$

  • Annexin I is a member of the annexin family of calcium dependent phospholipid binding proteins and has anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting phospholipase A$_2$ (PLA$_2$). Recent X-ray crystallographic study of annexin I identified six Ca$\^$2+/ binding bites, which was different types (type II, III) from the well-known EF-hand motif (type I). In this work, the structure of annexin I was studied at atomic level by using $^1$H, $\^$15/N and $\^$l3/C NMR(nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy, and the effect of Ca$\^$2+/ binding on the structure of annexin I was studied, and compared with that of Mg$\^$2+/ binding, When Ca$\^$2+/ was added to annexin I, NMR peak change was occured in high- and low-field regions of $^1$H-NMR spectra. NMR peak change by Ca$\^$2+/ binding was different from that by Mg$\^$2+/ binding. Because annexin I is a larger protein with 35 kDa molecular weight, site-specific (amide-$\^$15/N, carbonyl-$\^$l3/C) labeling technique was also used. We were able to detect methionine, tyrosine and phenylalanine peaks respectively in $\^$13/C-NMR spectra, and each residue was able to be assigned by the method of doubly labeling annexin I with [$\^$13/C] carbonyl-amino acid and [$\^$15/N] amide-amino acid. In $\^$l3/C-NMR spectra of [$\^$13/C] carbonyl-Met labeled annexin I, we observed that methionine residues spatially located near Ca$\^$2+/ binding Sites Were Significantly effected by Ca$\^$2+/ binding. From UV spectroscopic data on the effect of Ca$\^$2+/ binding, we knew that Ca$\^$2+/ binding sites of annexin I have cooperativity in Ca$\^$2+/ binding. The interaction of annexin I with PLA$_2$ also could be detected by using heteronuclear NMR spctroscopy. Consequently, we expect that the anti-inflammatory action mechanism of annexin I may be a specific protein-protein interaction. The residues involved in the interaction with PLA$_2$ can be identified as active site by assigning NMR peaks effected by PLA$_2$ binding.

  • Generally. the Ohmic's law is an important factor to increase the conductivity in a micro device. So it is also known that the Ohmic contact in a semiconductor device is import. The PN junction as a structure of semiconductor involves the depletion layer, and this depletion layer induces the non linear electrical properties and also makes the Schottky contact as an intrinsic characteristics of semiconductor. To research the conduction effect of insulators in the semiconductor device, $SiO_2$ thin film and $V_2O_5/SiO_2$ thin film were researched by using the current-voltage system. In the nano electro-magnetic system, the $SiO_2$ thin film as a insulator had the non linear Schottky contact, and the as deposited $V_2O_5$ thin film had the linear Ohmic contact owing to the $SiO_2$ thin film with superior insulator's properties, which decreases the leakage current. In the positive voltage, the capacitance of $SiO_2$ thin film was very low, but that of $V_2O_5$ thin film increased with increasing the voltage. In the normal electric field system, it was confirmed that the conductivity of $V_2O_5$ thin film was increased by the effect of $SiO_2$ thin film. It was confirmed that the Schottky contact of semiconductors enhanced the performance of electrical properties to increased the conductivity.
