  • A pneumatic servo valve which is widely applied in industrial field. And It is consist of force motor, spool & sleeve and servo controller. In this study. we developed the force motor which is consume to low power for a pneumatic servo valve. We could reduce the number of turn of the solenoid by using ferromagnetic permanent magnet and took different direction of each other using one coil instead of two coil. we modeled a system consisting of various electro-mechanical subsystems. The appropriateness of the model was verified by simulation. The simulation model resolved the motion of spool, the winding current and the magnetic force. Also, we calculated the displacement and velocity of the spool, flux contour line, b vector. flux density. flux linkage, back EMF etc.

  • This paper presents an eddy current loss analysis of a Mechanical Fixation (MF) made of 6061 aluminum alloy, which is used for an NS type double-rotor single-stator axial flux permanent magnet machine. The prototype MF made of aluminum alloy shows good mechanical performance, but poor electro-magnetic performance, since the machine's efficiency can decrease because of eddy current loss in the MF. In order to prevent efficiency decrease, a modification of the MF structure is also introduced. Three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) is used for magnetic field analysis, and eddy current losses are computed. The analysis results are compared to, and verified by the test results.

  • Inserted HTS (high temperature superconducting) coil is promisingly expected as a solution for achievement of higher fields such as GHz scale NMR magnet. However, HTS magnet causes persistent current decay in the persistent current mode and this decay should be compensated in order to keep stable magnetic field. As a solution for the decay in the HTS magnets, we proposed a new type superconducting power supply, i.e., linear type magnetic flux pump (LTMFP). The LTMFP mainly consists of DC bias coil, 3-phase AC coil and superconducting Nb foil. The compensating current in closed superconductive circuit can be easily controlled by the intensity of 3-phase AC current and its frequency. In this study, it has been investigated that the flux pump can effectively charge the current for various frequencies according to the different load magnets.

  • A sensorless velocity control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motors is presented in this paper. Two stator currents are measured and processed in discrete form in DSP. The rotor position and speed are estimated through the stator flux linkage and its derivative estimation. Flux and its derivative are calculated in the stationary reference frame and used to estimate the speed and position. The closed-loop speed control has been shown to be effective from standstill to rated speed. Moreover, a flux drift problem caused by the integration can be eliminated so that a stable sensorless starting and running operation can be achieved. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • This paper is concerned with the design and the construction of a moving magnet type linear DC motor(MM type LDM) for instrumentation. A mathematical model for the design of a LDM is developed and a permeance method is used to calculate the effective flux density in the air gap. The flux distribution in the air gap is analyzed and the width of iron core should be determined in order not to saturate the iron core by caluclating maxmum flux density. The design data culculated by a permeance method are compared with the analyzed results using FEM(MAXWELL 2D). The errors between two results are corrected. The tested LDM is constructed using the corrected design data. The results of experiment for thrust characteristics are compared with simulation.

  • Magnetic suspension effect has been studied by using superconductor of BiPbSrCaCuO ceramics containing Ag$_2$O. Magnetic flux measurements of a toroidal magnet revealed a concave shaped field distribution with a null field along the axis of the torus at the point where the field reversed. The suspension effect was observed only for the Ag$_2$O doped and field cooled sample which is attributed to the enhanced flux pinning due to the field cooled condition. It has been cleared that Ag$_2$O acts as pinning center which plays an important role to the magnetic suspension effect. Magnetic repulsive force which affects a superconductor located in magnetic flux from toroidal magnet has been investigated. It has been concluded that the magnetic suspension effect arises from the interaction between the pinning effect and the diamagnetic effect.

  • The inaccurate model parameters in the predictive current control of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SMPMSM) affect the current dynamic response and steady-state error. This paper presents a model parameter correction algorithm based on the relationship between the errors of model parameters and the static errors of dq-axis current. In this correction algorithm, the errors of inductance and flux are corrected in two steps. Resistance is ignored. First, the proportional relations between inductance and d-axis static current errors are utilized to correct the error of model inductance. Second, the flux is corrected by utilizing the proportional relations between flux and q-axis static current errors under the condition that inductance is corrected. An experimental study with a 100 W SMPMSM is performed to validate the proposed algorithm.

  • For the conventional DC machine, the armature MMF is negligible compared with field MMF except when the machine is under heavy load or transient conditions. During the motor starting or reversal, the transient armature current and corresponding MMF effect the flux density of each pole in the machine magnetic circuit. However, the circuit flux density is restored to normal values by the field winding MMF after the transient armature current dies in an electromagnetic DC motor. Permanent magnet servomotor have no field windings about the circuit poles to restore circuit flux density through the demagnetized part of each pole after the transient armature MMF dies, and portions of the magnetic circuit stay permanently demagnetized. Thus the problem of stabilizing a magnet pole piece under the influence of the transient armature current need attentions. This work present the recoil operation of the servomotor with PM poles in conjunctions with the influence of the armature reaction effect. The development of an analytical and quantatative study is presented for predicting the regime of the recoil operation under this condition.

  • The flux-reversal machine(FRM) is a new brushless doubly-salient permanent-magnet machine combining the advantages of the switched-reluctance machine(SRM) and the permanent-magnet machine(PMM) into one machine. FRM has a naturally low inductance, therefore, a low electrical time constant. This feature, combined with its simple construction and low rotor inertia appear to make the FRM attractive as a low-cost high-speed machine. For high-speed applications, two alternative commutation strategies are studied, one using the phase commutation advancing technique and another using the conducting pulse-width control. This paper describes the techniques and reports the corresponding simulated and experimented performance
