  • Recently, the interest in remodeling of new and old buildings is increasing worldwide. As a result, the frequency of use of architectural adhesives has increased. Currently, adhesives used in buildings are made of organic materials in most cases, and epoxy resin adhesives are most widely used. However, epoxy resin adhesives contain formaldehyde and VOCs in the room during construction, which can cause sick house syndrome. In case of building fire, it may cause damage due to carbon monoxide generated from organic materials. It is urgent to study the problem of epoxy fill adhesive made of such organic materials. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the adhesion of epoxy resin adhesive, which is a problem of epoxy resin adhesive, which is an existing organic adhesive by using inorganic materials such as magnesia and phosphate, And the inorganic adhesive which does not emit the release amount as an inorganic material.

  • Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films were screen printed on magnesia(MgO), silver and yttrium stabilized zirconia (YSZ) substrates and were sintered in a boat with cover to prevent the evaporation. The high-Tc phase increase and the low-Tc phase and Ca$_2$PbO$_4$ decrease with an increase in sintering temperature from 835$^{\circ}C$ to 860$^{\circ}C$. YSZ substrate interact strongly with the oxide resulting in poor superconductor, while the Ag and MgO substrates were satisfactory to make screen printed superconductors. The Bi$\_$0.7/Pb$\_$0.3/Sr$_1$Ca$_1$Cu$\_$1.8/Ox thick films screen printed both on Ag and MgO substrates show high Tc phase of ~85% and Tc of 96K.

자동차용 마찰재의 연마재가 마찰특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Abrasive Particles on the Frictional Properties of Automotive Brake Friction Materials)

  • The frictional properties of automotive brake pads with four different ceramic materials such as magnesia, hematite, alumina, and zircon were investigated. A Krauss type friction tester using gray iron disks was used to examine the friction coefficient, intensity of friction force oscillation, and the tribe-surfaces. Results showed that the friction coefficient increased as the hardness of abrasives increases. Friction oscillation was also increased with hardness of the abrasives. However, the friction materials containing less abrasive particles produced stable friction films on the sliding surface. The transition between two-body and three body abrasion during sliding also played a crucial role in destructing the friction film on the pad surface and in determining various frictional properties.

  • 세라믹 복합체의 미세구조는 이차상의 종류 및 양, 소결 조제, 그리고 소결 조건(즉, 소결온도, 압력, 유지시간)에 영향을 받는다. 또한, 내마모 특성은 미세구조와 작업 조건이 내마모 특성에 크게 영향을 미친다. 본 실험에서는 질화규소에 마그네시아의 양을 변화시켜 가압 소결(Hot Press) 방법으로 시편을 제조하였다. 마그네시아 양에 따른 미세구조, 기계적 특성(경도, 강도, 파괴인성), 그리고 다양한 분위기(공기, 물, paraffin oil)에서의 내마모 특성을 조사하였다. 질화규소에 마그네시아의 양이 증가하였을 때, 입계의 유리상이 $\beta$-상의 장주형 입자를 커지게 하고, 또한 Hertzian contact damage를 저하시킨다. 대기 중에서 내마모 거동은 강도뿐만 아니라 파괴인성과 관련이 있고, 물과 paraffin oil에서는 경도와 밀접하다. 물속에서 마모시험 중 많은 유리상이 물과 반응하는 것을 생각할 수 있다. 그러므로 마찰 화학적 반응(tribochemical reaction)은 마모도 저하시킨다. Paaraffin oil에서 높은 하중을 부하할 경우, Hertzian contact damage 때문에 초기 마모가 마모량에 지배적이다.

마그네시아-인산칼륨 시멘트에 대한 인산염 비 및 물-결합재비의 영향 (Effect of Phosphate-to-binder and Water-to-binder Ratio on Magnesia-potassium Phosphate Cement)

  • 본 연구는 물-결합재비(water-to-binder ratio, W/B) 및 인산염-결합재비(phosphate-to-binder ratio, P/B)가 마그네시아-인산칼륨 시멘트(magnesium-potassium phosphate cement, MKPC) 모르타르의 플로, 응결시간, 압축강도발현 및 pH 변화에 미치는 영향성에 대한 평가이다. MKPC 모르타르의 P/B가 0.3 및 0.5일 때 W/B 범위 20~40%에 대하여 10 배합의 모르타르 실험을 실시하였으며, X-선 회절 분석(X-ray diffraction, XRD), 전자현미경(scanning electron microscope, SEM) 및 수은압입법(mercury intrusion porosimetry, MIP) 분석을 위해 MKPC의 반응생성물 및 미세공극분포를 평가하였다. 실험결과, MKPC 모르타르의 플로 및 응결시간은 P/B의 증가에 따라 감소하였으며, P/B가 0.3에서 0.5로 증가함에 따라 종결시간은 약 24% 감소하였다. MKPC 모르타르의 초기 압축강도 발현 기울기의 경우 콘크리트 구조기준에서 제시하는 시멘트 콘크리트 대비 높은 수준에 있었다. 재령 28일의 압축강도 30 MPa 이상 및 pH 9.0 이하를 만족하기 위해 MKPC 모르타르의 P/B 및 W/B는 각각 0.5이상 및 30% 이하가 추천된다. MKPC의 반응생성물인 스트루바이트(struvite)-K의 결정은 MKPC의 P/B 및 W/B가 높을수록 증가하였는데, 이로 인해 거대 모세관 공극은 감소하였다.

인산염 종류와 붕사 첨가율에 따른 무기접착재의 특성 (Properties of Inorganic Adhesives according to Phosphate Type and Borax Ratio)

  • 현재 건축물에 사용되는 접착제는 주로 유기질 재료인 에폭시 수지 접착제가 사용되고 있다. 유기질 재료인 에폭시 수지 접착제는 유기성 물질로 접착제 생산 시 유해물질이 발생하며, 시공 후에도 유해물질이 실내거주공간에서 높게 나타난다. 또한 건축물 화재 시 유기 재료에서 발생되는 다량의 일산화탄소가 인명피해로 이어진다. 본 연구는 순수무기계 재료인 산화마그네시아, 인산염, 붕사를 사용한 무기 접착재에 대해 기존 유기 접착제를 대체 할 무기 접착재로의 활용가능성을 평가한 연구이다. 적정 인산염 선정에 관한 실험과 지연제로서 활용한 붕사의 첨가율에 대한 특성을 실험한 결과 적정 인산염으로 제1인산칼륨이 도출되었으며, 붕사 첨가율에 따른 특성을 측정한 결과 KS F 4923의 품질기준과 비교하여 경화수축률과 가열변화율은 품질기준을 만족하였으며, 인장강도는 붕사 첨가율 4% 이상에서 만족하는 결과가 나왔지만 접착강도의 경우 품질 기준을 충족하지 못하였다. 향후 접착강도 증진을 위한 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

대기용해 시 내화물 도가니의 종류가 가돌리늄(Gadolinium)을 함유한 듀플렉스 스테인레스 강의 미세조직에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Refractory Crucible on Microstructure of Duplex Stainless Steel Cast with Gadolinium during Air Induction Melting)

  • This paper reports the effect of a refractory crucible type on the microstructure of duplex stainless steel (DSS) cast with the addition of gadolinium using air-induction melting. Grade 4A DSSs with 1 wt% of gadolinium (Gd) were fabricated in various crucibles including alumina ($Al_2O_3$), magnesia (MgO), calcia (CaO) coated with yttria ($Y_2O_3$) and graphite. The standard free energies of the formation of calcium and yttrium oxide were lower than those of gadolinium oxide and other crucible elements based oxide. The yield of Gd in DSS using $Al_2O_3$, MgO, CaO-coated $Y_2O_3$ and graphite was 5, 19, 83 and 96%, respectively. As Gd yield increased, the amount of Gd-based inclusions increased, the size of the inclusions were reduced, and the inclusions became evenly distributed.

마그네시아의 치밀화 및 입자성장에 미치는 첨가물의 영향 (Effect of Additives on Densification and Grain Growth of Magnesia)

  • This experiment has been carried out for the purpose of investigating the effect of additives on densification and grain growth in magnesium oxide by a two-step process; hot pressing and heat treating. MgO powder has been obtained by calcining extra reagent grade MgCO3 at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes, and additives have been added to $MgCO_3$ in the form of soluble salts-Al$(NO_3)_3$$. $9H_2O$ and $Cr(NO_3)_3$.9H_2O$. The hot pressing has been carried out with changes of soaking time at 125$0^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of 250kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$, and the heat treating also at same temperature. The initial particle size of MgO measured by particle size analyzer was 0.86 microns. Densification rate obeyed the equation D=K lnt + C, and grain growth rate obeyed the equation G-G0=kt1/2. It was vaporization of some $Cr_2O_3$ and formation of solid solution that had an influence on desification of MgO containing $Cr_2O_3$. Activation energy for grain growth of pure MgO was 62.4 kcal/mole, therefore grain growth was supposed to be diffusioncontrolled process. But after heat treatmeat, excess additives were expected to slow down the grain growth by the formation of second phase or the solute atoms at grainboundary.

Polygala japonica houttuyn의 성분연구 (Studies on the constiuents of polygala japonica houttuyn)

  • The finely powdered entire harbs of Polygala japonica Houttuyn, a drug known as Yong Shin-Cho in Korea, were boiled with methanol and from the filtered extract the methanol was distilled off under diminished pressure and the aqueous solution of the residue was evaporated to dryness after being mixed with ignited magnesia. The dried mass was boiled with absolute alcohol, the filtered clear liquid was evaporated to a small volume and the precipitate Saponin produced by mixing with ether was filtered off. When the filtrate was again evaporated to the thickness of a syrup and allowed to cool for a few days in an ice box, crystalls were separated out in about 5% yield, which formed colorless columns, M. P. 142.deg., from methanol and had the formula $C_{6}$ $H_{12}$ $O_{5}$. On heating it with acetic acid anhybride and sodium acetate, its tetraacetyl derivative $C_{6}$ $H_{8}$ $O_{5}$(C $H_{3}$CO)$_{4}$ was obtained and which formed colorless needles, M. P. 62-5.deg., from ethanol. Their melting points, results of elementar analysis and other characteristics agreed with that of Polygalitol and its derivative. Finally they were proved to be identical with Polygalitol and its derivative, respectively, through determination of mixed melting points with the samples. Polygalitol was isolated from several plants of genus polugala e. g. P. amara, P. vulgaris, P. teunifolia, P. senega etc. The authors added to them another instance of identifying Polygalitol from the plant of genus polygala.olygala.

$MgO-SiO_2$계 자기소지에 미치는 첨가제의 영향 (Studies on the Effect for the Addition in the Porcelain Body of $MgO-SiO_2$ System)

  • This study has exemined on the effect for the fitting in porcelain body of $MgO-SiO_2$ system. The mixture was made of corresponding in the theoretical composition of enstatite with Kyul Sung talc and sea water magnesia cake. Hyup Jin kaolin as clay minerals to give the mixtue plasticity was added 10% by weight of the mixture. Also feldspar was added 5% by weight of the above mixture. We added limestone in various kinds of 1%-20% by weight of mixture included kaoil and feldspar in order last of all. The mixture was fire at the various temperatures from 12$25^{\circ}C$ to 13$25^{\circ}C$. After we examined closely physcial properties and microstructures we achieved the following results. 1) 5% addition amount of limestone was good for the property of the strength at the full firing temperatures. But 10% and 15% additions were remarkably excellant below 1275$^{\circ}C$ 2)When we considered the apparent bulk density 5% addition was good for the full firing temperature. 3) 5% addition amount of limestone was proved to be the most excellant propeties between 130$0^{\circ}C$ and 13$25^{\circ}C$ when we considered the apparent bulk density and the range of the firing temperature.
