Thrust Measurement of Parallel-operated Linear Induction Motors (병렬 운전되는 선형 유도전동기의 추력 계측)

  • LIMs propelling the MAGLEV which has been developed in Korea have 3-series and 2-parallel connection, so that 6 LIMs per one vehicle are fed by one inverter. Thrust performance of the parallel-operated LIMs can be different from each other because of variant magnetic air gaps and electrical impedance. The thrust difference between the parallel LIMs cause a twist force on the vehicle. This paper proposes an algorithm to measure thrust of the parallel-operated LIMs. The method uses a digital signal processor(TMS320F2812), voltage and current sensors. As a result, thrust, flux and currents of the parallel-operated small LIMs which are manufactured in our laboratory are monitored by the developed measurement system.

  • 지상1차 선형동기전동기는 속도와 위치센서가 회전축에 설 부착되어져 있는 회전형 동기전동기와 달리 가이드웨이를 따라 위치센서 관련부품이 설치되어져 있다. 차상 자기부상열차로부터 전송되는 위치신호는 지상 추진인버터의 실시간 추진제어에 필요한 정보에 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 지상1차 선형동기전동기를 구동하는 추진인버터에 대한 위치신호 추정기에 대하여 제시하였다. 지상 추진인버터가 요구하는 수준의 높은 분해능의 위치신호를 얻기위하여 직류모터 모델의 블록선도로부터 폐루프 위치관측기를 설계하고 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 가용 성능 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents a new high-performance intelligent controlled current-source (CCS) system which can compensate for modelling errors of armature resistance, leakage and magnetizing inductances and for space harmonic components of speed EMF's. A shuttle-motion simulation is presented in the mass-reduced-mode in which an equivalent vehicle weight is reduced, by 40kg to 7kg. This study provides one of the most important key-tech-nologies in driving practical linear synchronous motor (LSM) Maglev vehicle.

  • Being controlled by a pole placement, levitation system should need many sensors such as measure air-gap, velocity, acceleration, and so on. However, these sensors have observational errors by changed temperature. This paper proposed a output compensated command tracking controller for reducing the error and reducing sensors. Simulation results will be provided to show the validity of the proposed scheme.

  • The vertical curve of railway is installed in changing point where the gradient is more than a certain degree to ensure safe operation of train and comfort of passengers. As a result of CAD work with 3D coordination by using the existing equation, it was found that the simple equation about vertical curve installation suggested in the surveying engineering or railway regulations did not reflect theoretical curvature of circular curve in a case of steep grade and large vertical radius. In this study, for derive precision equation and transition curve about vertical curve, gradient parameters, equation of circles and transition curve equation were used, and it was verified by CAD that the derived equation is exactly satisfied with parameters of geometrical circular and transition curve. This equation could be used to provide more smoothing operation of train and comfort of passengers on vertical curves, especially in case that railway requires precision vertical alignment of track such as super high-speed railway, LRT or Maglev system.

  • The data transmission system in MAGLEV is required a high quality and high speed for a train safety and reliability driving. In the transmission channel between a vehicle and a ground-site, Gaussian noise is negligible, but impulse noise from the chopper controlled propulsoin unit and the Power supplying device is very severe. The transmission channel must be protected from these noise. In this paper, we propose a DSSS (direct-sequence spread spectrum) modulation as a new data transmission technique in the railway and analyze this data transmission characteristics.

  • Linear metro with single sided linear induction motor is applied to the urban transit system because of non adhesion drive. But linear induction motor is required to reduce the energy consumption to maximize efficiency of LIM. In this paper, design requirements such as pole pitch, motor length, air gap, overhang length and the material of secondary sheet are investigated as major parameter of SLIM. It is effective for increasing the efficiency to adopt the copper reaction plate and decrease the mechanical air gap as small as possible.

  • Effects of $Ag_2O$ doping on the electromagnetic properties in the BiSrCaCuO superconductors. The electromagnetic properties of the $Ag_2O$ doped and undoped BiSrCaCuO superconductor were evaluated to investigate the contribution of the pinning centers to the magnetic effect. It was confirmed experimentally that a large amount of magnetic flux was trapped in the $Ag_2O$ doped sample than that in the undoped one, indicating that the pinning centers of magnetic flux are related closely to the occurrence of the magnetic effect. It is considered that the area where normal conduction takes place increases by adding $Ag_2O$ and the magnetic flux penetrating through the sample increases. The results suggested that Ag acts to increase the pinning centers of the magnetic flux, contributing to the occurrence of the electromagnetic properties.

  • One maglev vehicle is composed of 6 or 8 modules. Each module is composed of 4 staggered magnets attached to an aluminum bogie. In the view point of levitation control except propulsion-by LIM. 5 is the maximum degree of freedom to be controlled. But rolling control of the vhhicle depends on the bogie structure. We describe just anti-roll type bogie structure and 4 degree of freedom control is sufficient for levitation quality improvement. Multivariable pole-placement concept is used for controller design. Control experiment is performed on a specially designed test module as well as actual bogie system.

  • This paper deals with the characteristics of a small scale $high-T_c$ superconducting(HTSC) levitation system. The levitation tester. which models after electrodynamic suspension(EDS) maglev, consists of one HTSC magnet, a reaction plate, and force measuring components. Instead of moving magnet, AC current was applied to the fixed HTSC magnet. The magnet also has persistent current switch(PCS). The inductance of the magnet was 18.5 mH and total joint resistance of the magnet was $5.74{\times}10^{-7}\Omega$. AC current was applied into the HTSC magnet with various frequencies and the levitation force was calculated and measured. According to the increase of the vehicle speed, the levitation force was saturated.
