A Magnet Design and Analysis for DAE JEON EXPO'93 Magnetic Levitation System (대전 EXPO'93 자기부상열차개발을 위한 전자석의 설계 및 특성해석)

  • A magnet is designed and analysed using a finite element method program (FLUX2D), which will be employed to the 2-module MAGLEV test vehicle for developing of DAE JEON EXPO '93 Magnetic Levitation System. Levitation force. guidance force and thermal characteristics are examined according to the variation of parameters of the magnet ie. pole width, window area, rail configuration, input current and so on. An optimal geometry of the magnet are provided.

  • 본 연구에서는 전기/자기 및 기계적 요소들이 복합되어 이루어진 자기부상 시 스템의 설현을 위한 기초단계로서 제어동역학(controlled dynamics) 측면에 입각한 모 델식을 본드선도 기법을 이용하여 보다 조직적으로 유도한다. 우선, 자속흐름 확장 및 자속 유출량을 고려하여 부상 시스템을 모델링하고 차량/레일 및 2차 현가(second ary suspension)장치를 포함한 자기부상 시스템을 모델링한다. 다음, 지지 및 안내 방향의 동역학을 동시에 고려한 2차원 자기부상 시스템을 본드선도의 다접점 필드(mu- ltiport field) 개념을 이용하여 모델링한다. 끝으로, 본드선도 기법으로 모델링된 2차원 자기부상 시스템의 안정도와 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 LOG/LTR(linear quadra- tic Gaussian control with loop transfer recovery) 제어시스템을 설계한다. LQG/ LTR 제어방법은 Doyle과 Stein에 의해 인성(stability-robustness) 문제와 주파수역 성능을 설계시에 직접 고려할 수 있는 강력한 선형 다변수 제어시스템 설곕방법으로 현재 널리 사용되고 있다.

  • This paper proposes an optimum design method using Teaching-Learning-based optimization for the fuzzy PID controller of Magnetic levitation rail-guided vehicle. Since an attraction-type levitation system is intrinsically unstable, it is difficult to completely satisfy the desired performance through the conventional control methods. In the paper, a fuzzy PID controller with fixed parameters is applied and then the optimum parameters of fuzzy PID controller are selected by Teaching-Learning optimization. For the fitness function of Teaching-Learning optimization, the performance index of PID controller is used. To verify the performances of the proposed method, we use a Maglev model and compare the proposed method with the performance of PID controller. The simulation results show that the proposed method is more effective than conventional PID controller.

  • It leaves much room for improvement that UTM-01 is of practical use. Therefor we will design of longitudinal pole magnet for UTM-02 system. The design of new magnet is based on light weight for bogie system. The new magnet for UTM-02 was reduced weight of magnet is 18kg per one, then it was ratio lift to weight is 10.13.

  • This paper presents numerical analysis and design of high power contactless transformer with a large air-gap for moving on a guided linear track which is appropriate for high-speed train or MAGLEV. The system has the typical characteristics of large leakage inductance, small magnetizing inductance, and low coupling coefficients giving rise to lower power transfer efficiency, which have been compensated by the purposely-designed contactless transformer coupled with the resonant converter modulating with high switching frequency. In particular, the best model selected from the generated six design candidates has been applied for 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) investigating on iron loss to evaluate the overall system efficiency.

  • In signal system such as MAGLEV, the transmission channel that has wireless transmission line between on-board and ground-site is susceptible to have interference and may introduce data error on transmission. In this paper, by applying inductive wireless and FSK(frequency shift keying) modulation using widely in railway signal system, we intend to analyze the data transmission characteristics. In this case, noise may have effect on transmission channel. Therefore transmission channel should be lessened the data error from random noise. Considering the transmission medium, the objective of this study is to analyze the transmission characteristics between on-board and ground-site and to obtain transmission performance.

  • A servo control algorithm robust under disturbance and reference change is developed using the self tuning control method based on the concept of the least distribution control. Also, the design algorithm incorporates the concepts of the well known internal model principle and the annihilator polynomial. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the method, MAGLEV (Magnetic Levitation) system is used and the position control experiment for reference changes and disturbances of step type is done.

  • This paper presents the numerical simulation results on the moving type electrodynamic suspension (EDS) simulator. Superconducting EDS system is generated by the interaction between the magnetic field made by the induced the eddy current in the ground conductor and the moving magnetic field made by onboard superconducting magnet. The levitation force of EDS system, which is proportional to the strength of the moving magnetic field, becomes saturated according to the increase of the velocity Especially, the levitation force is influenced by the structure of HTS magnet and ground conductor. The 3-D numerical analysis with FEM was used to find the distribution of the magnetic field, the optimal coil structure, and the calculation of the levitation force.

  • This paper presents the design for improving performance of the high-precision Magnetic levitation system. Motor performance on various design schemes such as thickness and magnetizing patterns of the permanent magnets, pole pitch, length of air gap, turn number of windings, and thickness of the aluminum-core has been investigated in detail by using FEM(Finite Element Method) Simulation-based DOE(Design of Experiments) method is also applied in order to reduce the large number of analysis according to each design variable and consider the effect among variables. The design in all aspects is proposed by an optimization algorithm using regression equation derived from the simulation-based DOE.
