In this study, the design methodology of radial basis function neural networks based on incremental K-means clustering is introduced for learning and processing the big data. If there is a lot of dataset to be trained, general clustering may not learn dataset due to the lack of memory capacity. However, the on-line processing of big data could be effectively realized through the parameters operation of recursive least square estimation as well as the sequential operation of incremental clustering algorithm. Radial basis function neural networks consist of condition part, conclusion part and aggregation part. In the condition part, incremental K-means clustering algorithms is used tweights of the conclusion part are given as linear function and parameters are calculated using recursive least squareo get the center points of data and find the fitness using gaussian function as the activation function. Connection s estimation. In the aggregation part, a final output is obtained by center of gravity method. Using machine learning data, performance index are shown and compared with other models. Also, the performance of the incremental K-means clustering based-RBFNNs is carried out by using PSO. This study demonstrates that the proposed model shows the superiority of algorithmic design from the viewpoint of on-line processing for big data.
We propose a new machine learning algorithm which analyzes daily activity patterns of users from multi-modal wearable sensor data. The proposed model learns and extracts activity patterns using input from wearable devices in real-time. Inspired by cue integration of human's property, we constructed gated multi-modal neural networks which integrate wearable sensor input data selectively by using gate modules. For the experiments, sensory data were collected by using multiple wearable devices in restaurant situations. As an experimental result, we first show that the proposed model performs well in terms of prediction accuracy. Then, the possibility to construct a knowledge schema automatically by analyzing the activation patterns in the middle layer of our proposed model is explained.

Recently, studies have shown that convolution neural networks are achieving the best performance in image classification, object detection, and image generation. Vision based defect inspection which is more economical than other defect inspection, is a very important for a factory automation. Although supervised anomaly detection algorithm has far exceeded the performance of traditional machine learning based method, it is inefficient for real industrial field due to its tedious annotation work, In this paper, we propose ADGAN, a unsupervised anomaly detection architecture using the variational autoencoder and the generative adversarial network which give great results in image generation task, and demonstrate whether the proposed network architecture identifies anomalous images well on MNIST benchmark dataset as well as our own welding defect dataset.

In this paper, we propose a Fuzzy Classifier System(FCS) makes the classifier system be able to carry out the mapping from continuous inputs to outputs. The FCS is based on the fuzzy controller system combined with machine learning. Therefore the antecedent and consequent of a classifier in FCS are the same as those of a fuzzy rule. In this paper, the FCS modifies input message to fuzzified message and stores those in the message list. The FCS constructs rule-base through matching between messages of message list and classifiers of fuzzy classifier list. The FCS verifies the effectiveness of classifiers using Bucket Brigade algorithm. Also the FCS employs the Genetic Algorithms to generate new rules and modifY rules when performance of the system needs to be improved. Then the FCS finds the set of the effective rules. We will verifY the effectiveness of the poposed FCS by applying it to Autonomous Mobile Robot avoiding the obstacle and reaching the goal.
Recently, the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) coverage has expanded to include coastal areas following the increased attention on vessel traffic safety. However, it has increased the workload on the VTS operators. In some cases, when the traffic volume increases sharply during the rush hour, the VTS operator may not be aware of the risks. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed a new method to recognize ship movement anomalies automatically to support the VTS operator's decision-making. The proposed method generated traffic pattern model without any category information using the unsupervised learning algorithm.. The anomaly score can be calculated by classification and comparison of the trained model. Finally, we reviewed the experimental results using a ship-handling simulator and the actual trajectory data to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this study, we introduce a new architecture of fuzzy inference system. In the fuzzy inference system, we use Fuzzy C-Means clustering algorithm to form the premise part of the rules. The membership functions standing in the premise part of fuzzy rules do not assume any explicit functional forms, but for any input the resulting activation levels of such radial basis functions directly depend upon the distance between data points by means of the Fuzzy C-Means clustering. As the consequent part of fuzzy rules of the fuzzy inference system (being the local model representing input output relation in the corresponding sub-space), four types of polynomial are considered, namely constant, linear, quadratic and modified quadratic. This offers a significant level of design flexibility as each rule could come with a different type of the local model in its consequence. Either the Least Square Estimator (LSE) or the weighted Least Square Estimator (WLSE)-based learning is exploited to estimate the coefficients of the consequent polynomial of fuzzy rules. In fuzzy modeling, complexity and interpretability (or simplicity) as well as accuracy of the obtained model are essential design criteria. The performance of the fuzzy inference system is directly affected by some parameters such as e.g., the fuzzification coefficient used in the FCM, the number of rules(clusters) and the order of polynomial in the consequent part of the rules. Accordingly we can obtain preferred model structure through an adjustment of such parameters of the fuzzy inference system. Moreover the comparative experimental study between WLSE and LSE is analyzed according to the change of the number of clusters(rules) as well as polynomial type. The superiority of the proposed model is illustrated and also demonstrated with the use of Automobile Miles per Gallon(MPG), Boston housing called Machine Learning dataset, and Mackey-glass time series dataset.
GuessWhat?! is a game in which two machine players, composed of questioner and answerer, ask and answer yes-no-N/A questions about the object hidden for the answerer in the image, and the questioner chooses the correct object. GuessWhat?! has received much attention in the field of deep learning and artificial intelligence as a testbed for cutting-edge research on the interplay of computer vision and dialogue systems. In this study, we discuss the objective function and characteristics of the GuessWhat?! game. In addition, we propose a simple solver for GuessWhat?! using a simple rule-based algorithm. Although a human needs four or five questions on average to solve this problem, the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art deep learning methods using only two questions, and exceeds human performance using five questions.
Over the decades, neural networks have been successfully used in numerous applications from speech recognition to image classification. However, these neural networks cannot explain their results and one needs to know how and why a specific conclusion was drawn. Most studies focus on extracting binary rules from neural networks, which is often impractical to do, since data sets used for machine learning applications contain continuous values. To fill the gap, this paper presents an algorithm to extract logic rules from a trained neural network for data with continuous attributes. It uses hyperplane-based linear classifiers to extract rules with numeric values from trained weights between input and hidden layers and then combines these classifiers with binary rules learned from hidden and output layers to form non-linear classification rules. Experiments with different datasets show that the proposed approach can accurately extract logical rules for data with nonlinear continuous attributes.
Learning program's behavior using machine learning techniques based on system call audit data is an effective intrusion detection method. Rule teaming, neural network, statistical technique, and hidden Markov model are representative methods for intrusion detection. Among them neural networks are known for its good performance in teaming system call sequences. In order to apply it to real world problems successfully, it is important to determine their structure. However, finding appropriate structure requires very long time because there are no formal solutions for determining the structure of networks. In this paper, a novel intrusion detection technique using evolutionary neural networks is proposed. Evolutionary neural networks have the advantage that superior neural networks can be obtained in shorter time than the conventional neural networks because it leams the structure and weights of neural network simultaneously Experimental results against 1999 DARPA IDEVAL data confirm that evolutionary neural networks are effective for intrusion detection.

In this study, we introduce a identification methodology for FCM-based fuzzy model. The two underlying design mechanisms of such networks involve Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering method and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO). The proposed algorithm is based on FCM clustering method for efficient processing of data and the optimization of model was carried out using PSO. The premise part of fuzzy rules does not construct as any fixed membership functions such as triangular, gaussian, ellipsoidal because we build up the premise part of fuzzy rules using FCM. As a result, the proposed model can lead to the compact architecture of network. In this study, as the consequence part of fuzzy rules, we are able to use four types of polynomials such as simplified, linear, quadratic, modified quadratic. In addition, a Weighted Least Square Estimation to estimate the coefficients of polynomials, which are the consequent parts of fuzzy model, can decouple each fuzzy rule from the other fuzzy rules. Therefore, a local learning capability and an interpretability of the proposed fuzzy model are improved. Also, the parameters of the proposed fuzzy model such as a fuzzification coefficient of FCM clustering, the number of clusters of FCM clustering, and the polynomial type of the consequent part of fuzzy rules are adjusted using PSO. The proposed model is illustrated with the use of Automobile Miles per Gallon(MPG) and Boston housing called Machine Learning dataset. A comparative analysis reveals that the proposed FCM-based fuzzy model exhibits higher accuracy and superb predictive capability in comparison to some previous models available in the literature.
