New Acoustic Imaging Method Development for Localization of an Underground Acoustic Source Using a Passive SONAR System

  • The aim of the work described in this paper is to develop a complex underground acoustic system which detects and localizes the origin of an underground hammering sound using an array of hydrophones located about 100m underground. Three different methods for the sound localization will be presented, a time-delay method, a power-attenuation method and a hybrid method. In the time-delay method, the cross correlation of the signals received from the array of sensors is used to calculate the time delays between those signals. In the power-attenuation method, the powers of the received signals provide a measure of the distances of the source from the sensors. In the hybrid method, both informations of time-delays and power-ratios are coupled together to produce better performance of position estimation. A new acoustic imaging technique has been developed for improving the hybrid method. This new acoustic imaging method shows the multi-dimensional distribution of the normalized cost function, so as to indicate the trend of the minimizing direction toward the source location. For each method the sound localization is carried out in three dimensions underground. The distance between the true and estimated origins of the source is 28m for a search area of radius 250m.

대용량 컨테이너 이송장치 기술개발 전략 연구 (A Study to Develop a Multiple Container Transportation System)

  • 컨테이너 물동량 증대에 따라 항만 내 타부두 간 환적 물동량 수요가 크게 증대되었으나, 기존 YT 방식의 타부두 환적은 이를 효율적으로 뒷받침하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문은 컨테이너항만의 경쟁력 향상을 위한 컨테이너 대용량 이송장치 개발방안을 제시하였다. 시스템 대안의 장단점 분석과 국내 터미널 운영형태를 고려하여 2단적재 다중 편성시스템(DMTS)을 최종 대안으로 선정하였다. DMTS 회전반경은 13.5m로, 국내 기존 항만의 layout에서 즉시 운용 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 특허분석을 통하여 DMTS 핵심기술 항목으로서 현가 조향장치 최적설계, 동력 및 동력전달 장치, 주행제어 및 안전감시장치, 그리고 트레일러 간 연결기 등을 도출하였다. DMTS는 국내 수출입 항만에 적용하는데 문제가 없으며 단위 수송용량이 높아 운영 효율성 개선에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

실제 선로조건에 따른 DMT 화차의 탈선안전도 평가 (The Derailment Safety Estimation of DMT Freight for Real Track Condition)

  • The DMT freight is judged that economic performance is good because can increase cargoes than existing freight. However, the existing freight cars, each with a different balance to the body structure is bogie because the vibrations may occur. Thus, by minimizing vibration over the existing freight securing the safety of the driving if you will not have major problems in cargoes. In this study, multi-body dynamic analysis tool, VI-Rail using the actually Gyeongbu Railroad line and an empty, full freight condition include curve radius, track irregularity, The DMT freight of the derailed wagons were assessed for safety analysis. Full and empty freight conditions for parity in the Gyeongbu Railroad line(Dongdaegoo${\leftrightarrow}$Kyungsan) derailment safety analysis, such as derailment coefficient and the wheel unloaded, echoing the curve and the orbit is affected by the irregularity was found. Full freight condition than the empty conditions showed a significant derailment safety. Overall, the limits of derailment coefficient(Q/P = 0.8) and wheel unload decrement limits(${\triangle}P/P$ = 0.6) is less safe with me confirmed that the derailment safety.

  • 1) 강소성 유한 요소법 프로그램 RDHPSC는 2단헤딩 가공에 있어서의 신뢰 할 수 있는 해석수단이다. 2) RDHPSC에 의한 2단헤딩의 해석은 2단헤딩가공에서의 최적 가공 조건의 결정에 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 3) 2단헤딩 가공중의 금속흐름을 수치해석에서의 격자 변형에 의해 관찰될 수 있다. 4) 2단헤딩 가공중의 표면 결함의 발생가능성은 수치해석 결과에서 원수방향응력과 계수 D를 관찰함으로서 탐색되어질 수 있다. 5) 2단헤딩가공중에 있어서의 내부결함 발생가능성은 수치해석의 격차 변형을 통하여 알 수 있다. 6) 마무리 가공금형 수명에 대한 최적가공조건은 수치해석에서의 접촉압력을 조사하여 얻을 수 있다.(이 논문의 결론부분임)

휠-다리 로봇의 장애물극복 모션 계획 및 제어 방법 (Motion Planning and Control of Wheel-legged Robot for Obstacle Crossing)

  • In this study, a motion planning method based on the integer representation of contact status between wheels and the ground is proposed for planning swing motion of a 6×6 wheel-legged robot to cross large obstacles and gaps. Wheel-legged robots can drive on a flat road by wheels and overcome large obstacles by legs. Autonomously crossing large obstacles requires the robot to perform complex motion planning of multi-contacts and wheel-rolling at the same time. The lift-off and touch-down status of wheels and the trajectories of legs should be carefully planned to avoid collision between the robot body and the obstacle. To address this issue, we propose a planning method for swing motion of robot legs. It combines an integer representation of discrete contact status and a trajectory optimization based on the direct collocation method, which results in a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem. The planned motion is used to control the joint angles of the articulated legs. The proposed method is verified by the MuJoCo simulation and shows that over 95% and 83% success rate when the height of vertical obstacles and the length of gaps are equal to or less than 1.68 times of the wheel radius and 1.44 times of the wheel diameter, respectively.

An Improved Weak-Lensing Analysis of the Galaxy Cluster ACT-CL J0102-4915 with New Wide-Field HST Imaging Data

  • We present an improved weak-lensing (WL) study of the high-z (z=0.87) merging galaxy cluster ACT-CL J0102-4915 ("El Gordo"), the most massive system known to date at z > 0.6. El Gordo has been known to be an exceptionally massive and rare cluster for its redshift in the current ΛCDM cosmology. Previous multi-wavelength studies have also found that the cluster might be undergoing a merging event showing two distinctive mass clumps and radio relics. The previous WL study revealed a clear bimodal mass structure and found that the entire system is indeed massive (M200a = (3.13 ± 0.56) × 1015 Msun). This mass estimate, however, was obtained by extrapolation because the previous HST observation did not extend out to the virial radius of the cluster. In this work, we determine a more accurate mass estimate of the cluster using WL analysis utilizing a new set of WFC3/IR and wide-field ACS observations. While confirming the previous bimodal mass structure, we find that the new data yield a ~20% lower mass for the entire system (M200a = (2.37 ± 0.28) × 1015 Msun). We also discuss the rarity of the cluster in the ΛCDM paradigm and suggest an updated merging scenario based on our new measurement.

충적하천(沖積河川)의 수로양상(水路樣相)에 따른 유사(流砂) 및 흐름특성(特性) (Characteristics of Sediment and Flow with Channel Patterns in Alluvial Rivers)

  • 본 논문은 충적하천에서 수로의 양상조건에 따른 유사 및 흐름특성을 해석함으로써 수로의 변이를 예측할 수 있는 수치모형을 개발하기 위한 연구이다. 하천의 흐름은 하상 및 제방재료 특성과의 상호작용에 의해 복잡한 관계를 이루면서 수로변이를 통하여 형태학적으로 안정적인 형상을 유지하고 흐르기 때문에 대부분의 경우 직선형수로는 드물고 사행 또는 망류상을 이루고 있다. 본 연구에서는 수로변이를 모의할 수 있는 모형을 개발하기 위해 수로중심선 곡률반경 $r_c$값의 양과 음의 부호수에 따라 수로를 구분 즉, $r_c$의 양 또는 음의 값이 하나 만으로 이루어진 단만곡수로(single-bend channel)와 양과 음이 둘 이상의 값을 갖는 복만곡수로(multi-bend channel)로 구분하여 이들 수로에서의 편수위상승, 나선운동, 하상 및 수심평균유속의 불규칙 현상의 영향에 의한 유사이동과 흐름특성을 해석한다. 단만곡수로는 타 _모형의 실험자료와 복만곡수로는 금강의 매포수위관측소를 시점으로하는 연구구간에서 실측치 현장자료와 비교분석함으로써 본 모형의 적용성을 검증하였으며, 그 결과는 대체로 잘 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

The electrical characteristics of flexible organic field effect transistors with flexible multi-stacked hybrid encapsulation

  • One of the critical issues for applications of flexible organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) for flexible electronic systems is the electrical stabilities of the OTFT devices, including variation of the current on/off ratio (Ion/Ioff), leakage current, threshold voltage, and hysteresis under repetitive mechanical deformation. In particular, repetitive mechanical deformation accelerates the degradation of device performance at the ambient environment. In this work, electrical stability of the pentacene organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) employing multi-stack hybrid encapsulation layers was investigated under mechanical cyclic bending. Flexible bottom-gated pentacene-based OTFTs fabricated on flexible polyimide substrate with poly-4-vinyl phenol (PVP) dielectric as a gate dielectric were encapsulated by the plasma-deposited organic layer and atomic-layer-deposited inorganic layer. For cyclic bending experiment of flexible OTFTs, the devices were cyclically bent up to 105 times with 5mm bending radius. In the most of the devices after 105 times of bending cycles, the off-current of the OTFT with no encapsulation layers was quickly increased due to increases in the conductivity of the pentacene caused by doping effects from $O_2$ and $H_2O$ in the atmosphere, which leads to decrease in the Ion/Ioff and increase in the hysteresis. With encapsulation layers, however, the electrical stabilities of the OTFTs were improved significantly. In particular, the OTFTs with multi-stack hybrid encapsulation layer showed the best electrical stabilities up to the bending cycles of $10^5$ times compared to the devices with single organic encapsulation layer. Changes in electrical properties of cyclically bent OTFTs with encapsulation layers will be discussed in detail.

나노입자의 크기효과와 체적분율 효과를 동시 고려한 나노복합재의 멀티스케일 브리징 해석기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Multiscale Bridging Method Considering the Particle Size and Concentration Effect of Nanocomposites)

  • 본 연구에서는 분자동역학 전산모사와 미시역학 모델을 이용하여 나노입자의 체적분율이 높은 경우 나노 입자의 크기효과와 체적분율 효과가 나노복합재의 기계적 물성에 미치는 영향을 효과적으로 묘사할 수 있는 순차적 브리징 해석기법을 제안하였다. 체적분율이 12%로 고정된 상태에서 나노입자의 크기변화에 따른 영률과 전단계수를 분자동역학 전산모사를 통해 예측한 후, 이를 연속체 모델에서 구현하기 위해 다중입자모델을 적용하였다. 나노입자의 크기효과를 반영하기 위해 입자와 기지 사이에 유효계면을 추가적인 상으로 도입하였고, 12%의 체적분율 조건에서 나타날 수 있는 체적분율 효과는 나노복합재를 둘러싸는 가상의 영역인 무한영역의 물성값의 변화를 통해 조절되도록 하였다. 유효계면과 무한영역의 물성을 입자의 반경에 대한 함수로 근사한 후 다양한 입자의 크기에서 나타나는 나노복합재의 물성변화의 예측이 가능하도록 하였다. 제안된 브리징 해석기법의 적용을 통해 분자동역학 해석결과와 잘 일치하는 결과를 연속체 모델에서 효율적이고 정확하게 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 유효계면의 두께와 물성 변화가 나노복합재의 기계적 물성에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다.

철근 밴딩기 롤러의 피로파괴 CAE 해석 (Fatigue CAE Analysis of a Rebar Bending Machine Roller)

  • The rebar factory production process involves the repetitive bending of rebars. Therefore, the fatigue failure of the rebar bending machine needs to be considered. In this paper, fatigue analysis of the rebar machine was performed using the commercial software DAFUL, which is based on MFBD (Multi Flexible Body Dynamics). The rotating roller, fixing roller and rebar were modeled by the finite element method. The rebar bending process is simulated and the mechanical stresses on the rollers are calculated. Structural analysis of the rebar bending roller was performed using the maximum bending angle of $180^{\circ}$ and maximum processing rebar diameter of ${\Phi}19mm$. Then, for fatigue analysis, the S-N curve of STD-11 was. The fatigue life of rollers is estimated by modified Goodman diagram. The fatigue life range of the rotating roller is $2.99961{\times}10^5{\sim}1{\times}10^8$ while that of the fixed roller is $2.53142{\times}10^5{\sim}1{\times}10^8$. STD-11 has an infinite life cycle after $1{\times}10^8$. Therefore, the rollers of the rebar bending machine may be expected to suffer fatigue failure. Thus, we performed a parameter study of fatigue life according to various axial radii of the fixed roller and rotating roller, and redesign of the rebar bending machine. Consequently, the axial radius of the fixed roller and rotating roller was found to be 35~37.5mm and 30~35mm, respectively, and an infinite life cycle was confirmed at these.
