3D 프린터를 이용하여 턱관절 MRI검사에 사용되는 TMJ device제작 (Additive Manufacturing of TMJ Device used in Temporomandibular Joint MRI Scan by using 3D Printer)

  • 턱관절 디스크 검사 시 MRI는 유용한 검사법으로 디스크의 정확한 위치변화를 관찰하고자 개구상태에서 오랜 시간 검사가 필요하다. 이에 3D프린팅 기술을 이용하여 개구상태를 유지시켜 줄 고정 장치(TMJ device)를 제작하고 이를 기존 고정 장치와 비교하여 유용성을 평가하고자 하였다. 기존 TMJ device를 사용한 영상에 비해 3D 프린터로 자체 제작한 TMJ device를 사용한 영상에서 SNR이 다소 낮은 결과를 보였지만 임상적으로 사용하는데 큰 결함이 없고 환자 개인별 특화된 맞춤형 제작이 가능하고 더불어 3D 프린팅 기술을 활용하여 유사도구 제작에 기여함으로서 비용대비 편익이 상승될 것이라 사료된다.

  • The role of neuroimaging in patients with acute ischemic stroke has been gradually increasing. The ultimate goal of stroke imaging is to make a streamlined imaging workflow for safe and efficient treatment based on optimized patient selection. In the era of multimodal comprehensive imaging in strokes, imaging based on computed tomography (CT) has been preferred for use in acute ischemic stroke, because, despite the unique strengths of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), MRI has a longer scan duration than does CT-based imaging. However, recent improvements, such as multicoil technology and novel MRI acceleration techniques, including parallel imaging, simultaneous multi-section imaging, and compressed sensing, highlight the potential of comprehensive MR-based imaging for strokes. In this review, we discuss the role of stroke imaging in acute ischemic stroke management, as well as the strengths and limitations of MR-based imaging. Given these concepts, we review the current MR acceleration techniques that could be applied to stroke imaging and provide an overview of the previous research on each essential sequence: diffusion-weighted imaging, gradient-echo, fluid-attenuated inversion recovery, contrast-enhanced MR angiography, and MR perfusion imaging.

은(Ag)이온이 함유된 항균필름이 MRI에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Antibacterial Film Containing Silver Ions on MRI)

  • The purpose of these experiments is often to scan infected patients with MRI. Therefore, it is to investigate whether the antibacterial film containing silver ions, which is a non-magnetic substance, affects magnetic resonance imaging. In this experiment, the ACR phantom was used, not the patient. The ACR phantom was wrapped in an antibacterial film and the SNR, CNR, sagittal localization image, and geometrical accuracy were compared before and after. The experiment was performed 10 times and the averaged values were compared. There were no significant differences in the results of all experiments. The FDA recommends removing metal and antibacterial film masks during MRI scans. The reason is that there was one case of injury with facial burns. When I touched the antibacterial film to check the fever during the 2 hour experiment, I did not feel any particular fever. In light of the experimental results, it would be helpful to use an antibacterial film when testing an infected patient. The reason is that there isn't a difference before and after the experiment of SNR, CNR, and sagittal localization images.

Primary Eosinophilic Granuloma of Adult Cervical Spine Presenting as a Radiculomyelopathy

  • We report a case of 29-year-old man diagnosed as a primary eosinophilic granuloma (EG) lesion of the seventh cervical vertebra. He had paresthesia on both arms, and grasping weakness for 10 days. Cervical magnetic resonance image (MRI) showed an enhancing mass with ventral epidural bulging and cord compression on the seventh cervical vertebra. Additionally, we performed spine series MRI, bone scan and positive emission tomography for confirmation of other bone lesions. These studies showed no other pathological lesions. He underwent anterior cervical corpectomy of the seventh cervical vertebra and plate fixation with iliac bone graft. After surgical management, neurological symptoms were much improved. Histopathologic evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of EG. There was no evidence of tumor recurrence at 12 months postoperative cervical MRI follow-up. We reported symptomatic primary EG of cervical spine successfully treated with surgical resection.

  • 본 연구는 밀폐된 공간과 다른 검사보다 시간이 오래 걸리는 자기공영상(MRI)검사 장비에서 환자와의 접촉이 많은 Head coil, Block, 밀폐된 공간인 Bore 등의 세균오염도를 측정 및 세균의 종류를 파악하고, 설문을 통하여 감염관리 실태를 파악하고 자기공명영상(MRI)장비의 소독 상태를 파악함으로써 환자의 병원감염에 대한 인식의 개선과 소독의 중요성을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Purpose: Tc-99m MDP bone scan was performed to evaluate a generalized bone pain in a 24-year-old male chronic myelogenous leukemia patient who received bone marrow transplantation at 7 months ago. The patient had received large amounts of blood transfusion for managing symptoms related to anemia. Bone scan revealed substantial splenic tracer uptake. Magnetic resonance image and laboratory evidence of hemochromatosis suggests that the presence of large quantities of iron in the spleen of this patient may have been responsible for the splenic uptake of the bone scanning agent. The authors report a case of splenic hemochromatosis incidentally found on Tc-99m MDP bone scan.

  • 초고속 자기공명 영상 기법의 일종인 나선 주사 영상의 재구성을 위하여 k-공간에서 극좌표와 직각 좌표계를 기초로한 재구성방법들을 분석하였다. 나선 주사 영상의 재구성은 나선 궤적상에서 측정된 데이터를 극좌표나 직각 좌표계로 변환시키기 위하여 보간 기술들이 사용된다. 나선주사 영상의 다양한 재구성 알고리즘들을 시험하여 보았고, 재구성된 영상의 질을 비교하였다. 본 연구진이 제안한 투영 영역에서 dc-offset보정을 한 향상된 재구성 알고리즘이 시뮬레이션을 통하여 가장 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 기존의 재구성 방법들에서 나타났던 영상 artifact도 제안된 방법에서는 완전히 사라짐을 확인할 수 있었다.
