We propose video management system based on MPEG-7 for mobile device(MVMS). Most of existing MPEG-7 applications manage MPEG-7 document based on file system in the desktop environment. To contrast them, because the MVMS manages only necessary information using embedded database system for MPEG-7 documents in mobile devices, it can use efficiently lack of the resource in mobile device environment. MVMS supports key image extraction and MPEG-7 document edition function. Moreover, this is possible search and management of multi document because of MVMS manage MPEG-7 data through embedded DB.

디지털 방송의 발달로 인해 현재 방송 환경은 사용자가 단순히 제공되는 콘텐츠를 감상하는 수준에서 사용자가 콘텐츠와 직접 대화하는 대화형 방송이 발달하고 있다 MPEG-4 콘텐츠는 이러한 대화형 방송에 매우 부합되는 콘텐츠이며, 그 사용이 점차 증가하고 있다. 향후 MPEG-4 콘텐츠가 널리 이용될 때, MPEG-4 콘텐츠에 MPEG-7 ES를 하나의 미디어 데이터로 간주하고 MPEG-4 콘텐츠에 포함하여 전송한다면, MPEG-4 콘텐츠의 검색 및 관리가 용이해질 뿐만 아니라 MPEG-7의 다양한 기능과 결합한다면 MPEG-4 콘텐츠의 응용을 더욱 풍부히 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위해 MPEG-4 콘텐츠에 OCI 기술자 또는 MPEG-7 ES를 포함한 MPEG-4 콘텐츠를 재생할 수 있는 MPEG-7 over MPEG-4 시스템디코더와 그 구조에 대해 서술하였다.

MPEG-7 based on XML represents various information of multimedia data's contents. and it support search and browsing by user's wants. But, MPEG-7 standard don't support retrieval method and Many XML Indexing is not compatible to retrieval MPEG-7 documents. So Much research activity and interest has emerged recently in retrieval MPEG-7 documents. In our paper, we suppose a hierarchical index based on MPEG-7 document's structural information, and review how to query processing based on high level feature description.

In restricted resources based on mobile environment, we can use an embedded database technology for management of MPEG-7 data. At this time, some XML clustering methods can be used. But, to improve the performance efficiency better, a new clustering method is need to store effective MPEG-7 document. In this paper, we have designed and implemented a MPEG-7 document management system to store MPEG-7 document effectively in mobile device such as PDA. The system used the 버클리 DB XML as a native embedded XML database system based on the clustering method of MPEG-7 data.

In recent, development of wireless internet technology gradually has increased multimedia application in mobile device. Specially, application of grand capacity multimedia contents has increased in mobile environment gradually. MPEG-7 can search multimedia data using various type. But in restricted grand capacity of multimedia, MPEG-7 is used to be limited in desktop computer system mostly. Therefore, management of grand capacity multimedia data has become very important researching topic in mobile environment, and so embedded DBMS based on MPEG-7 for multimedia data management in client-server environment is needed. The system supports restricted hardware resource for multimedia application in mobile device. In this paper, we propose a method for MPEG-7 data clustering that included MPEG-7 data property. On the base of the clustering result, we also develop the embedded multimedia database management system based on MPEG-7 scheme(EMDS:MPEG-7 Scheme Based Embedded Multimedia Database Management System) in mobile device such as PDA.

본 논문은 영상, 음성, 문자 정보를 포함한 대용량 멀티미디어 자료의 효율적인 검색을 위하여 진행되고 있는 MPEG-7 국제 표준화 활동의 동향에 대해서 알아 보며 국제표준 MPEG-7을 따르는 MPEG-7 Description Generator의 설계에 관하여 연구한다. 이 생성기는 크게 MPEG-7 DS 편집 모듈과 MPEG-7 Description 편집 모듈로 나뉘다. MPEG-7 Description Generator는 표준화 대상이 아닌 비표준 도구(non-normative tool)로서 세계적인 기업들이 경쟁적으로 개발 중에 있는 멀티미디어 응용 프로그램 중의 하나다. MPEG-7 은 현재 표준화가 진행 중이지만 MPEG-7 Metadata Generator를 개발함으로써 많은 수요가 예상되는 MPEG-7 표준안이 채택될 시점에 MPEG-7 관련 응용프로그램 시장에서 선점하고자 한다.

And also we compared it to the existed clustering methods.

MPEG-7 provides a lot of advantages for retrieving and editing of multimedia data by providing the information of structure and semantics in multimedia data such as digital images and audio. In this paper, a metadata generator and editor system for MPEG-7 is introduced. It suggests the overall technique and framework of generating and editing multimedia data when such content is created. This system also includes not only the functions of generating, editing and saving meta-data of MPEG-7 but also the functions of meta-data editing of moving pictures based on MPEG 1, 2 and browsing of the overall editing process.

최근, 컴퓨터 환경의 발달로 각 분야에서 AV(Audio-Visual) 콘텐츠의 사용량이 기하급수적으로 증가되었다 또한 컴퓨터, 방송 및 네트워크의 융합으로 이 전 보다 다양한 종류의 어플리케이션에서 다양한 형태로 AV 콘텐츠가 사용되고 있다 이에 따라, 이런 다양한 형태의 AV콘텐츠를 표현하는 방법 및 검색하여 사용하는 방법에 대한 많은 연구들이 이루어지고 있다 이런 연구들의 한 형태로 본 논문에서는 AV 콘텐츠를 표현하는 방법으로 MPEG-4 콘텐츠를 XML에 기반 하여 표현한 XMT(eXtensible MPEG-4 Textual fomat)와 AV 콘텐츠를 검색하는 방법으로 MPEG-7 표준을 사용하여 객체기반 MPEG-4의 콘텐츠 검객 시스템을 제안하였다 다양한 포맷의 미디어 데이터 및 그래픽 객체들을 각각의 하나의 객체로 간주하여 AV콘텐츠를 구성하는 MPEG-4 시스템을 XML을 기반으로 표현한 XMT 포맷으로는 MPEG-4 콘텐츠를 구성하는 미디어 데이터를 바탕으로 검색하는데 한계가 있다. 따라서 미디어 데이터 검색을 위한 메타데이 터의 표준으로 사용되고 있는 MPEG-7 을 사용하여 객체 기반 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 검색이 효과적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 확장된 XMT 포맷을 제안하고, 이를 사용하는 시험 시스템을 구성하였다. 이렇게 함으로써 MPEG-4로 표현된 객체 기반 AV 콘텐츠 검색 시 MPEG-7메타데이터를 사용하여 보다 사용자가 원하는 콘텐츠를 효율적으로 검색하여 제공할 수 있을 것으로 사려된다
