This paper describes a whole-body (human body's) motion generation scheme for an android robot that uses motion capture device and a nonlinear constrained optimization method. Because the captured motion data are based on global coordinates and the actors have different heights and different upper-lower body ratios, the captured motion data cannot be used directly for a humanoid robot. In this paper, we suggest a method for obtaining robot joint angles, which allow the resultant robot motion to be as close as possible to the captured human motion data, by applying a nonlinear constrained optimization method. In addition, the results are animated to demonstrate the similarity of the motions.
Fast block motion estimation technique is proposed to reduce the computational complexity in video coding. In the conventional methods the size of search region is fixed. For small motion regions like background the small size of sea of search region is enough to find a block motion. But for active motion regions the large size of search region is preferred to figure out the accurate motion vector. Therefore, it is reasonable that a block motion is estimated in the variable search region (both the size and the position of it). That is to say, the search region varies according to the predicted motion characteristics of a block. The block motion in video frames has temporal continuity and then the search region of a current block is predicted using the block motion of previous blocks. The computational complexity of the proposed technique is significantly reduced with a good picture quality compared to the conventional methods.
The purpose of this research is to examine precise linear motion and rotary motion. A six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism is introduced to drive an object precisely in directions of X, Y and Z-axes and around them : three rectangular linear motion and rotary ones. An experimental mechanism is introduced in which a $70$\times$70$\times$70$\times$(${mm}^3$) cube object is driven by six PZT actuator. The study is to establish the six-degrees-of-freedom fine motion mechanism of linear motion and rotary motion using PZT actuator.
In this paper, we describe the OGY method that convert the motion on a chaotic attractor to attracting time periodic motion by malting only small perturbations of a control parameter. The OGY method is illustrated by application to the control of the chaotic motion in chaotic attractor to happen at the famous Logistic map and Henon map and confirm it by making periodic motion. We apply it the chaotic motion at the behavior of the thin beam under periodic torsional base-excitation, and this chaotic motion is made the periodic motion by numerical experiment in the time evaluation on this chaotic motion. We apply the OGY method with the Jacobian matrix to control the chaotic motion to the periodic motion.

With the development of films, games and animation industry, analysis and reuse of human motion capture data become more and more important. Human motion segmentation, which divides a long motion sequence into different types of fragments, is a key part of mocap-based techniques. However, most of the segmentation methods only take into account low-level physical information (motion characteristics) or high-level data information (statistical characteristics) of motion data. They cannot use the data information fully. In this paper, we propose an unsupervised framework using both low-level physical information and high-level data information of human motion data to solve the human segmentation problem. First, we introduce the algorithm of CFSFDP and optimize it to carry out initial segmentation and obtain a good result quickly. Second, we use the ACA method to perform optimized segmentation for improving the result of segmentation. The experiments demonstrate that our framework has an excellent performance.
This paper presented a linear motion accuracy by using two-dimensional probe with the master block and the square for NC machine tools. This measuring system could be measured motion error due to numerical control system. The results of measurement and simulation for motion error were similar, and so, this system had enough accuracy to measure a linear motion accuracy for NC machine tools. The experimental results are as follows. 1. This measuring system could be measured motion error due to mumerical control system. 2. The results of measurement and simulation for motion error were similar. 3. This measuring system had enough accuracy to measure a linear motion accuracy for NC machine tools.
A general procedure for a motion capture and mimic system has been delineated. Utilizing sensors operated in the magnetic fields, complicated and optimized movements are easily digitized to analyze and repreduce. The system consists of a motion capture module, a motion visualization module, a motion plan module, a motion mimic module, and a GUI module. Design concepts of the system are modular, open, and user friendly to ensure the overall system performance. Custom-built and/or off-the-shelf modules are ease- ly integrated into the system. With modifications, this procedure can be applied for complicated motion controls. This procedure is implemented on tracking a head and balancing a pole. A neural controller based on this control scheme dtilizing human motions can easily evolve from a small amount of learning data.

We are designed to solve cyber motion sickness, an important task that must be addressed for the growth of the virtual reality content industry. Not only the industry but also academia are paying a lot of attention. However, despite long interest and research on the phenomenon of cyber motion sickness, a solution has not been drawn. This is deeply related to the lack of tools that can effectively measure cyber motion sickness. Therefore, in this paper, prior studies on cyber motion sickness were analyzed to develop a tool that can effectively measure cyber motion sickness when users experience immersive virtual reality. The measurement method of cyber motion sickness used in previous studies, each characteristic and limitation, and common factors related to cyber motion sickness were analyzed. Each of the related factors was derived as sub-factors. Based on the analyzed contents, an effective cyber motion sickness measurement evaluation tool model in immersive virtual reality was presented. It is expected that the evaluation tool model can be used for the study of cyber motion sickness.
제안하는 표준 포맷은 XML(extensable Markup Language) 기반의 마크업 언어로서 MCML(Motion Capture Markup Language)라고 한다.
