Effects of the Pharmacopuncture with MOK on Immune Regulation by Th1/Th2 Cytokines in L-Thyroxine-Induced Hyperthyroid Rats (L-thyroxine으로 유발된 갑상선기능항진증 랫트에서 MOK 약침의 Th1/Th2 사이토카인 조절에 의한 면역조절 효과)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to investigate immune regulatory effects of the pharmacopuncture with MOK on hyperthyroid rats. Methods : The experimental hyperthyroidism was prepared by the intraperitoneal injection of L-thyroxine(LT4, 0.5 mg/kg) once daily for 2 weeks in Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats. The pharmacopuncture with MOK extract(MOK pharmacopuncture) at doses of 0.3 or 3 mg/kg was injected on acupuncture points in the thyroid glands of hyperthyroid rats once a day for 2 weeks. Propylthiouracil(PTU, 10 mg/kg) as a reference group was subcutaneously injected into the dorsal neck. We measured the levels of $IFN-{\gamma}$ and IL-4 in the sera of rats using enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay(ELISA) and determined the expression of $IFN-{\gamma}$, IL-4, IL-10, and Foxp3 in spleen tissues by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). Results : The treatment of MOK pharmacopuncture in hyperthyroid rats significantly decreased the serum levels of Th1 cytokine, $IFN-{\gamma}$(p<0.01 for MOK 0.3 mg/kg, p<0.05 for MOK 3 mg/kg, and p<0.05 for PTU) and significantly increased the levels of Th2 cytokine, IL-4(p<0.05 for MOK 0.3 mg/kg, p<0.001 for MOK 3 mg/kg, and p<0.05 for PTU) compared to control group. Also, the MOK pharmacopuncture significantly increased IL-4 expression(p<0.05 for MOK 3 mg/kg, and p<0.05 for PTU), IL-10(p<0.05 for MOK 3 mg/kg, and p<0.01 for PTU), and Foxp3(p<0.01 for MOK 0.3 mg/kg, p<0.05 for MOK 3 mg/kg and p<0.01 for PTU) in spleen tissues of hyperthyroid rats compared to control group. Conclusions : Our results suggest that MOK pharmacopuncture can help to ameliorate the pathological progression of hyperthyroidism by regulation of the Th1/Th2 imbalance.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a theory for conservation of named and physiognomically perceived landform. And this study investigated the characteristics of the spatial form and physiognomic perception of MOK(is landform and space like neck) in MOK-MAEUL(settlement name including korean character 'mok') in Kyongsangnamdo. The surveyed sites are 52 MOK-MAEUL. The MOK representing a particular landform is divided into 5 types and the characteristics of landform were analyzed. The residents recognized a MOK as a living form and thought that influenced their wealth and security.

  • DRM에서 키 관리 기술은 중앙 집중 키 관리 방식, Enveloping 방식 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 암호화 키를 콘텐츠에 함께 동봉하는 키 관리 방식을 기반으로 새로운 DRM 키 관리 기술을 제안한다. 제안하는 키 관리 기술은 사용자 인증에서 사용된 인증정보를 콘텐츠 암호화 키로 사용함으로 콘텐츠 암호화 키를 암호화하여 전송할 필요가 없는 장점이 있다.

Study on Efficacy and Safety of High Dose MOK Pharmacopuncture in Hypothyroidism-induced Rats with Propylthiouracil (PTU 투여 갑상선기능저하증 유발 랫드모델에서 고용량 MOK 약침의 효능 및 안전성 평가 연구)

  • In this study, we investigated the effects of MOK pharmacopuncture at high-doses which are increased 10 to 100-fold in clinics, on propylthiouracil (PTU)-induced hypothyroidism in rats and the safety. We measured the changes of body weight, food and water intake, body temperature, the serum levels of thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, and T4), AST and ALT, glucose, lipid metabolites (total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride) and observed histopathological changes of thyroid tissues by H&E staining. We also analyzed the peaks of constituents of MOK using HPLC. In the results, the treatment of MOK pharmacopuncture at high-dose (30 mg/kg) in hypothyroidism-induced rats for 2 weeks was shown the improvement effects on the decrease of body weight, food intake, and body temperature, The MOK pharmacopunture at high dose regulated the imbalance of thyroid hormones, glucose, and lipid metabolites and also inhibited the structural damages of thyroid tissues. In liver damage, the MOK pharmacopuncture at high dose reduced the increase of AST and ALT levels in hypothyroid rats. We identified the MOK constituents in HPLC analysis. In conclusion, the treatment of MOK pharmacopuncture at high dose has a therapeutic effect on hypothyroidism without liver toxicity, suggesting that the MOK pharmacopuncture be usefully applicable to treat with hypothyroidism in clinics.

  • The study is based on Tong Kuk Yuk Tae Chong Mok that Hong, Man-Jong, a writer of the later Cho-Sun dynasty, wrote in the style of chronicle in 1705. Tong kuk Yuk Tae Chong Mok, different from the former history book, described briefly the whole history in the autonomous view from king Tan-Kun to king sun-Jong, the Cho-sun dynasty. There for the author appraises the sense and value of Tong kuk Yuk Tae Chong Mok, by surveying the publishing background, bibliographic analysis, descriptive method, and cited book on Tong kuk Yuk Tae Chong Mok.

MOK, a Pharmacopuncture Medicine, Reduces Inflammatory Response through Inhibiting the Proinflammatory Cytokine Production in LPS-stimulated Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages

  • Objectives : In this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects of MOK, a pharmacopuncture medicine, in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages. Methods : Peritoneal macrophages were isolated from ICR mice. Primary macrophages were treated with MOK extract (1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 mg/ml) for 30 min and then stimulated with LPS ($1{\mu}g/ml$) for the indicated times. Cytotoxicity was measured using MTT and LDH assays. Nitric oxide (NO) production in culture supernatants was measured using the Griess assay. The mRNA expression of iNOS, COX-2, proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\beta}$, and IL-6) and antioxidant enzymes (HO-1 and MnSOD) was measured by RT-PCR. Results : Treatment with MOK extract (2.5, 5, and 10 mg/ml) significantly decreased LPS-induced NO production in peritoneal macrophages through inhibition of iNOS expression. The expression of COX-2, TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\beta}$, and IL-6 mRNA was also decreased in LPS-stimulated macrophages upon treatment with MOK extract. MOK treatment also increased the expression of HO-1 and MnSOD mRNA in macrophages. Conclusion : These results indicate that MOK exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects by regulating the transcription levels of inflammatory mediators and antioxidant proteins in activated macrophages.

  • This study was carried out to elevating the pregnancy rate in infertile patient by Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT). The GIFT program was performed from July 1988 to June 1990. Of the 131 cycles, the mean age of patient was 31.6 years and the mean duration of infertility was 5.3 years. 41 patients became pregnant, for a pregnancy rate of 31.3%. 5 preclinical abortions and 6 clinincal abortion was occured. 2 ectopic pregnanices and 1 combined pregnancy were occured. 7 twin pregnancies and 1 triplet were occured (multiple pregnancy rate;22.2%). 11 pregnancies were term delivered, 17 are ongoing pregnancies. GIFT may be considered as an alternative to in vitro fertilazation in infertility cases in which at least one fallopian tube is patent.

  • 최근 전기자동차와 신재생에너지 발전 시스템의 전기 저장장치로 고용량 2차 전지의 개발 및 상용화가 활발히 이루어지고 있으며, 기술 연구 또한 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 배터리에 대한 활용도가 높아지면서 배터리의 성능평가에 대한 관심도 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 LabVIEW를 이용하여 배터리 자동 충 방전 제어 테스트 장치를 구축하여, 원격제어 및 실시간 모니터링을 통해 데이터 분석 및 저장이 가능하며, 다양한 배터리의 성능평가를 설정 값 변경으로 손쉽게 평가 할 수 있도록 장치를 개발 하였다.
