MNG 메타 인공 물질을 이용한 T-SRR 및 저손실 대역통과 필터의 설계 (Design of the T-SRR and Low Loss Band-pass Filter Using MNG Metamaterial)

  • 본 논문은 MNG (mu-Negative) 메타 인공 물질을 이용한 T-SRR (Triple Split Ring Resonator)을 제안하여 3단의 저손실 대역통과 필터를 응용 설계를 하였다. 제안된 대역통과 필터는 낮은 유전율을 가진 기판 위에 T-SRR의 크기를 자유롭게 조절할 수 있고 ${\lambda}/4$ 전송선로를 적용하여 저손실 대역통과필터로 응용설계함. 또한 군사용 위성통신대역의 I-밴드 10 GHz 중심 주파수에서, 필터 내의 T-SRR의 QL값은 184이며, 필터의 대역폭은 10 % 일 때, 삽입손실 및 반사손실은 각각 1.44 dB 와 17.3 dB의 값을 얻었다. 향후 IPD(Integrated Passive Device)등으로 재설계가 가능할 것임.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand the effects a mother's degree of obesity has on her daughter's obesity index, psychological well-being index, and nutrient intakes. The daughters, as study subjects, were classified into two groups according to their mother's body mass index (BMI): an obese group [BMI>25 kg/m$^2$, mother obesity group (MOG)] and a normal weight group [BMI<25 kg/m$^2$, mother normal weight group (MNG)]. The daughters in MOG showed significantly higher percent ideal body weight values than the daughters in MNG (p<0.001). MOG and MNG had significantly different psychological well-being index scores in terms of being classified into a highly stressed group (p<0.001), potentially stressed group (p<0.05), and healthy group (p<0.001). Intakes of daily energy, protein, fat, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, phosphorus, and iron were also significantly different (p<0.001) between MOG and MNG. In particular, the vitamin A and C intakes of the MNG daughters were significantly higher than those of the MOG daughters (p<0.001). Overall, the results showed that a mother's level of obesity was essentially related to her daughter's obesity index, psychological well-being index score, and nutrient intakes. Therefore, it seems necessary for mothers to maintain an ideal body weight to prevent obesity and diet related problems in their daughters.

Metamaterial의 전파 상수 및 물질 상수 (Propagation Constant and Material constants of Metamaterials)

  • 본 논문에서는 유전율($\varepsilon'$)과 투자율($\mu'$)이 양수인 double-positive (DPS) 물질에서 정의된 전파 상수를 epsilon-negative(ENG) 물질 (${\varepsilon}'<0,\;{\mu}'>0$), mu-negative (MNG) 물질 (${\varepsilon}'>0,\;{\mu}'<0$), 그리고 double-negative (DNG) 물질 (${\varepsilon}'<0,\;{\mu}'<0$)으로 확장하여 유도하였다. 이와 함께 유전율 손실(${\varepsilon}"$)과 투자율 손실(${\mu}"$)이 전파 상수에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 이 물질에서 전파가 right-handed (RH) 혹은 left-handed (LH)로 동작하는지를 규명하였다. DPS와 DNG 물질은 ${\varepsilon}"$${\mu}"$의 값에 상관없이 각각 RH 그리고 LH 매질로 동작한다. 반면 ENG와 MNG 물질은 (${\varepsilon}'{\mu}"+{\varepsilon}"{\mu}'$)의 부호가 양수이면 RH, 음수이면 LH 매질로 동작하는 특이한 특성을 가진다.

2-Methoxy-5-Nitrophenol 금속착염의 화학적 성질에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Properties of 2-Methoxy-5-Nitrophenol Complex Salts)

  • This work was carried out to investigate the chemical properties of the chelate compounds which were produced with 2-methoxy-5-nitrophenol(MNG) and metal salt such as copper nitrate and manganese nitrate. And obtained results were as in the followings. 1) The binding ratio of the chelate compounds formation were determined by using the molar ratio concentration method and their chemical structures were identified by IR-spectrum. 2) In the absorbance measuring, 2-methoxy-5-nitrophenol coordinated with manganese and copper showed the maximum absorbance at $430 m\mu$ and $410 m\mu$ respectively. 3) The binding ratio of chelated compounds were measured by molar ratio method and continuous variation method with spectrophotometer, which was identified as 1:2. 4) The conditional formation constant(log Kn value) of manganese and copper chelate compounds were 6.70, 6.75, respectively according to the equation of $log\frac{A-AM\circ n MNG}{AMm MNG-A}=n log (M\circ)+log Kn$ 5) The dissociations degree of manganese and copper chelate compound were $2, 300{\times} 10^{-7}$, $2, 346{\times} 10^{-7}$ respectively according to the molar calculation method.

  • 본 논문에서는 금속 평행평판에 일반 유전체 기판인 FR4 대신 Metamaterial을 삽입할 경우에 발생할 수 있는 전자기 공진 특성과 임피던스 변화에 대하여 연구하였다. 기판을 DPS는 물론 Metamateral인 ENG, MNG, DNG 형으로 나눠, 투자율 함수를 위해 SRR 형식의 Lorentz 모델과, 유전율 함수를 위해 금속선 주기 배열 형식의 Drude 모델을 정확한 계산이 가능한 Full-wave 모드해석기법에 반영하여 평행평판이 가지는 공진모드들과 임피던스의 변화양상을 관측하였다. 관측을 통해 전자장비의 품질을 저하시키는 평행평판의 불요공진모드 억제를 위한 기판설계 가이드라인을 수립할 수 있었다.

Meningeal Hemangiopericytomas and Meningomas: a Comparative Immunohistochemical and Genetic Study

  • Background: The meningeal hemangiopericytoma (MHPC) is a vascular tumor arising from pericytes. Most intracranial MHPCs resemble meningiomas (MNGs) in their clinical presentation and histological features and may therefore be misdiagnosed, despite important differences in prognosis. Materials and Methods: We report 8 cases of MHPC and 5 cases of MNG collected from 2007 to 2011 from the Neuro-Surgery and Histopathology departments. All 13 samples were re reviewed by two independent pathologists and investigated by immunohistochemistry (IHC) using mesenchymal, epithelial and neuro-glial markers. Additionally, we screened all tumors for a large panel of chromosomal alterations using multiplex ligation probe amplification (MLPA). Presence of the NAB2-STAT6 fusion gene was inferred by immunohistochemical staining for STAT6. Results: Compared with MNG, MHPCs showed strong VIM (100% of cases), CD99 (62%), bcl-2 (87%), and p16 (75%) staining but only focal positivity with EMA (33%) and NSE (37%). The p21 antibody was positive in 62% of MHPC and less than 1% in all MNGs. MLPA data did not distinguish HPC from MNG, with PTEN loss and ERBB2 gain found in both. By contrast, STAT6 nuclear staining was observed in 3 MHPC cases and was absent from MNG. Conclusions: MNG and MHPC comprise a spectrum of tumors that cannot be easily differentiated based on histopathology. The presence of STAT6 nuclear positivity may however be a useful diagnostic marker.

Metamaterial-Based Zeroth-Order Resonant Antennas for MIMO Applications

  • A compact ($0.26{\times}0.05$ ${\lambda}_0$ at 2.27 GHz) metamaterial-based zeroth-order resonant antenna system consisting of epsilon-negative (ENG) and mu-negative (MNG) structures is proposed. Although the spacing between the ENG and MNG antennas is only 0.09 ${\lambda}_0$, the isolation is relatively high (27.6 dB at 2.27 GHz). Furthermore, the envelope correlation is only 0.015. The radiation efficiencies of the proposed two radiators are also very high (90% on average).

May the Neutrophil/Lymphocyte Ratio Be a Predictor in the Differentiation of Different Thyroid Disorders?

  • Background: The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a simple index of systemic inflammatory response, and has been shown to be a prognostic indicator in some types of cancer. Inflammation has been implicated in the initiation and progression of thyroid cancer. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship of NLR with papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) and different benign thyroid pathologies like multinodular goiter (MNG) and lymphocytic thyroiditis (LT). Materials and Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the neutrophil, lymphocyte counts and NLR calculated from these parameters of 232 patients with histologically confirmed as multinodular goiter (group MNG) (n=70), lymphocytic thyroiditis (group LT) (n=97), LT with PTC (group LT-PTC) (n=25) and PTC (group PTC) (n=40). The optimal cut-off value for NLR was determined. Results: NLR level was significantly higher in groups LT-PTC and PTC as compared to groups MNG and LT (p<0.05). NLR of LT subgroups according to TSH levels were not different (p>0.05). When we grouped the patients as benign and malignant according to PTC presence, the optimum NLR cut-off point obtained from ROC analysis was 1.91 (sensitivity 89.0% and specificity 54.5%). Conclusions: Since NLR was significantly elevated in group LT-PTC and group PTC, NLR value may give an opinion as a potential marker in differentiation of benign and malign thyroid disorders. For this purpose a cut-off value of 1.91 for NLR may be accepted.

영유아기 식이가 알레르기질환 발생에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Nursing Patterns on the Development of Allergic Disorders)

  • Allergic disorders may be defined as the abnormal reactions to proteins. Cow milk is the first foreign protein which the human being would contact postnatally. Serveral studies suggested that this contact had certain effects on the development o allergic disorders with great controlversies. Seven hundred seventy eight students from middle class in Seoul, aged 6 to 17 wears, were surveyed to delineate the relationshpis between the cow's milk contacts in infancy and the subsequent development of allergic disorders in Koran population. Questionaire were included the nursing patterns in infancy, the past medical history of asthma or wheezy bronchitis and the presence of infantile eczema. Skin tests to three common resporatory allergens in Korea(house dust, house dust mite; D. farinae, D. ptoeronssinus) were performed. The positivity was determined by the wheal size larger than that to histamine. 70.2% of whole mateials was fed by breast milk, 13.1% by cow's milk and 16.7% by mixed nutsing. From the obsevation of nursing patterns by (table 2), we find that the number of breast milk group has been decreasing in 1970's. 10.1% of breast milk group(BMG) had wheezy bronchitis, 8.8% of cow's milk group(CMG) and 11.5% of mixed nursing group(MNG). Infantile eczema history was positive in 27.8% of BMG, in 26.5% of CMG and in 29% of MNG. Skin test positivity was 23.8% in BMG, 25.5% in CMG and 26.2% in MNG. There prevalences of allergic disorders in each nursing group did not reveal any statistically significant differences. In conclusion, nursing patterns in infancy do not seem to have certain effects on the development of allergic disorders such as infantile eczema. wheezv bronchitis or skin test positivity.

MNG 단일셀 메타매질 부하를 갖는 삼중대역 폴디드 모노폴 안테나 설계 (Tri-Band Folded Monopole Antenna Design with MNG Single Cell Metamaterial Loading)

  • 본 논문에서는 MNR(Mu-negative) Metamaterial 단일 셀을 사용하여 700 MHz UHD 방송 대역과 2.45 GHz/5 GHz WiFi 대역에서 동작하는 삼중대역 폴디드 모노폴 안테나 설계에 관하여 연구하였다. MNG metamaterial 단일셀이 MZR(Mu zero resonator)에서 동작하도록 안테나 기판 뒷면에 커패시터를 형성하고, 스트립선로와 비아홀을 통해서 접지면과 연결하여 구현하였다. 이를 통해서 700 MHz대역에서 영차모드에서 공진하도록 공진점을 제어할 수 있고, 대역폭을 개선할 수 있다. 최종적으로 700 MHz UHD방송 대역과 2.45 GHz/5 GHz WiFi 대역에서 동작하는 안테나를 구현하였다. 설계 제작한 안테나의 크기는 $100{\times}100mm^2$이고, 실험 결과 첫 번째 공진점에서 10 dB 대역폭과 이득은 각각 309 MHz(41.2%), 5.298 dB이며, 두 번째 공진점에서 10 dB 대역폭과 이득은 각각 821.9 MHz(33.5%), 2.7840 dB이며, 세번째 공진점에서 10 dB 대역폭과 이득은 각각 1.1314 GHz(20.6%), 2.9484 dB의 결과를 확인하였다. 안테나의 공진주파수는 이론과 실험이 일치함을 확인하였다. 그리고 방사패턴은 대체적으로 전방향 특성을 가지고 있으며, 0.75 GHz와 2.45 GHz에서는 측면보다 전방향과 후방향으로 방사특성이 양호하며, 5.5 GHz에서는 다중로브를 갖는 방사패턴 특성을 확인하였다.
