Recently, there are great variations on concepts and rolls of information system as the radical growth in information technology. A systematic MIS evaluation is requested for effective management and operation of information system. Although many researches on MIS evaluation have been progressed, the evaluation of the user satisfaction is limited by evaluating from the each system's result because of the diversity of view points and inclusion of MIS introduction. Therefore, in this paper, a conceptual framework is suggested to evaluate MIS synthetically that is changed by the result of existing MIS evaluation. So to speak, a new evaluation framework is suggested by synthesizing various view points and evaluation method that suggested from the existing MIS evaluation such as user satisfaction of results as the introduction of MIS and the satisfaction of variation of entire organization.
The most critical problem of MIS evaluation is the lack of the systematic framework to cover various factors and viewpoints. To solve this problem, this study takes the multi-level and contingent approach to performance evaluation, composed of three levels: evaluating the contribution of MIS to an organization [strategy level]; evaluating the activities of MIS department or MIS function as an organizational sub-function through the overall MIS lifecycle [function level]; and evaluating the quality or productivity of the application systems as MIS outputs [system level]. Ideal MIS evaluation should include all three levels of the hierarchy with balanced importance. However, MIS evaluationcanbedividedintothreetypes,suchasstrategy-oriented, function-oriented and system-oriented evaluation, depending on the focus and emphasis of evaluation. The usage pattern of each evaluation type is analyzed according to contingent variables of MIS evaluation such as MIS maturity, information intensity and firm size, and top management's intent. It is also found that the firms of higher MIS maturity and top management's intent use the strategy-oriented evaluation type, and the firms with strategy-oriented evaluation type show a higher MIS performance. Further, MIS maturity and top management's intent show contingent effects between evaluation type and MIS performance. Some managerial implications can be drawn based on the results of the study. First, strategy-oriented evaluation of MIS is more important as many firms more often use information technology as a strategic weapon. Second, MIS performance varies with evaluation type. Therefore, the design of MIS evaluation framework should be done carefully in the strategic and managerial contexts. Third, firms are recommend to use a different evaluation type according to organizational characteristics such as MIS maturity and information intensity.

A multi-agent technology has emerged as new paradigms that can flexibly and promptly cope with various environmental changes and complex problems. Accordingly, many studies have been carried out to establish multi-agent systems in an effort to solve dynamic problems in many fields. However, most previous research on the multi-agent frameworks aimed at, on the behalf of a user, exchanging and sharing information among agents, reusing agents, and suggesting job cooperation in order to integrate and assimilate heterogeneous agents. That is, their frameworks mainly focused on the basic functions of general multi-agents. Therefore, they are not suitable to the development of the proper system for a specific field such as a negotiation. The goal of this research is to design a multi-agent framework for the negotiation system that supports the evaluation of the negotiation messages, management of the negotiation messages, and message exchanges among the negotiation agents.
This paper investigated the MIS curriculum of fifteen four-year universities in South Korea. The data for analyses was collected from the university catalogues, questionnaire, and telephone interviews. Based on the data collected, this paper reported the current status of domestic MIS departments and analyzd the curriculum using the conceptual framework. The research results were discussed in terms of three issues : (1) the operations of MIS curriculum, (2) the sequences of selected MIS courses, (3) the course titles. This papers finally discussed the limitations of the current study and the future research directions.

A multi-agent technology has emerged as a new paradigm that can flexibly and promptly cope with various environmental changes and complex problems. Accordingly, many researches are being made to establish multi-agent systems in an effort to solve dynamic problems in many fields. However, most previous researches on the multi-agent frameworks aimed at, on behalf of a user, exchanging and sharing information between agents, reusing agents, and suggesting job cooperation in order to integrate and assimilate heterogeneous agents. That is to say, their frameworks mainly focused on the basic functions of general multi-agent. Therefore, they are not suitable to the development of the proper system for a specific field such ,.s a negotiation. In an effort to solve this problem, this research has tried to design a multi-agent framework-base negotiation system, so that for the sake of a user it can evaluate the negotiation messages, manage the negotiation messages, and quickly and exactly exchange messages between negotiation agents. First of all, we have made research on the basic functions hat are necessary in the development of a negotiation system, and then have analyzed the limitations of existing multi-agent frameworks when trying to apply them to a negotiation system. After these efforts, this study suggests a design of multi-agent framework to develop a negotiation system.

In the rapidly changing field of Management Information Systems, the definition and educational programs must be continually reevaluated and revised. A study was conducted to find a way to which the modeling principle is applied for redefining the identity of Management Information Systems as an independent academic field and to develop a plausible MIS curriculum based on the modeling principle. Previous researches on the MIS frameworks, knowledge and technology requirements for IS professionals, and standard MIS curriculums were reviewed thoroughly. For this study, the Kantian cognitive model was adopted as a basis of modeling principle. The result shows that modeling ability has been the core competence of IS people in the field of MIS. The applicability of a modeling principle is also verified in establishing the identity of MIS and developing a normative MIS curriculum. For the MIS field to thrive as an independent academic field and research discipline, it is believed to be imperative for the discipline to have a unique educational goals distinguished from both other management areas, and sub-fields of computer science.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of MIS curriculum and to find ways to improve it. In addition, the results of the research can be used as basic data for improving MIS curriculum. Design/methodology/approach A research framework was designed to derive research results using the keyword network analysis method of this study: 1) Keywords were extracted based on the six units of the big data analysis job competency. 2) And based on the extracted keywords, the relationship between the keywords and MIS curriculum for each university was identified. Findings In the MIS curriculum information of a few universities, education related to big data analysis was conducted. 1) In the MIS curriculum of a few universities, education related to big data analysis was conducted. However, MIS curriculum of the university, which is the subject of analysis, education focused on concepts and theory rather than practical education was conducted. 2) And it was confirmed that there is a difference from the education required by the industry.

In this research, we developed a Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System to be able to increase the competitive power of a company in dynamic environment and correspond to various orders of customers by diffusion of electronic commerce. The system uses the agent technology that is being embossed as new paradigm in dynamic environment and flexible system framework. The multi-agent technology is used to solve these problem through cooperation of agent. The system consists of six sub agents: mediator, manufacturability analysis agent, process planning agent, scheduling agent, selection agent, negotiation-strategy building agent. In this paper, the proposed Multi-Agent based Negotiation Support System takes aim at the automation of transaction process from ordering to manufacturing plan through the automation of negotiation that is the most important in order-taking transaction.
Data provenance is the background knowledge that enables a piece of data to be interpreted and used correctly within context. The importance of tracking provenance is widely recognized, as witnessed by significant research in various areas including e-science, homeland security, and data warehousing and business intelligence. In order to further advance the research on data provenance, however, one must first understand the research that has been conducted to date and identify specific topics that merit further investigation. In this work, we develop a framework based on semiotics theory to assist in analyzing and comparing existing provenance research at the conceptual level. We provide a detailed review of data provenance research and compare and contrast the research based on d semiotics framework. We conclude with an identification of challenges that will drive future research in this field.
This paper develops a business model analysis framework and suggests a step-wise approach to the exploration of new business models. Three generic business model components, Value Change Model, Value Connection Model, and Value Complement Model, are identified based on their value propositions, and a composite of them, called Value Combination Model, is proposed. In order to integrate various value propositions from these business models, a business model analysis framework is also suggested. In order to test its real-world applicability, a case study is performed on the WLAN services and the effectiveness of the framework as a business model analysis tool is demonstrated.
