전신마취를 시행한 구강외과 환자에서 어려운 기관내삽관: 후향적 연구 (Difficult Intubation in Patients Undergone Oromaxillary Surgery: Retrospective Study)

  • Background: This retrospective study aims to describe the airway management and to search predictive parameter for difficult intubation in 700 patients undergoing oromaxillary surgery. Methods: The medical records of 700 patients undergone oromaxillary surgery were reviewed for airway management during perioperative period. The cases of difficult intubation were selected and those radiologic findings were reviewed. The mandibular depth (MD), mandibular length (ML), thyromental distance (TMD) were measured. Results: In 41 cases difficult intubation were recorded in anesthetic record. The grade of Cormack and Lehane was III in 36 patients and IV in 5 cases. The MD of difficult intubation cases was $4.2{\pm}3.2\;cm$. The ML of difficult intubation cases was $10.1{\pm}3.8\;cm$. The TMD of difficult intubation cases was $5.9{\pm}4.3\;cm$. Under the fiberoptic guided awake intubation was undertaken in 75 patient. In none of the cases was failed nasotracheal intubation. Conclusions: The patients undergoing oromaxillar surgery have a potentially difficult airway but, if managed properly during perioperative preiod, morbidity and mortality can be reduced or avoided. The radiologic findings were poor predict for difficult intubation. The fiberoptic guided awake intubation is a safe alternative to direct laryngoscopic intubation.

설사 및 수포발생 육성유우에서 바이러스성 설사.점막병의 진단 (Diagnosis of bovine virus diarrhea-mucosal disease in breeding Holstein cows with diarrhea and vesicles)

  • The purpose of this study was to establish early diagnosis for bovine virus diarrhea-mucosal disease(BVD-MD) Two Holstein among 22 breeding cows were shown ulcer in the mouth and watery diarrhea. Diarrheal feces and ulcerous lesion of the mouth from 2 cows were sampled for detection of viral antigen. BVD virus was isolated by inoculation of the samples to MDBK cells, and the cytopathic effects were observed in cultured MDBK cells which inoculated with virus isolates from the feces. Viral antigens were detected in the feces and ulceruous lesion by immunogold staining. The serum neutralization titers were shown 1 : 64 or greater in 8 blood samples by using BVD virus (NADL strain). By the RT-PCR, using reverse primer 5'-ACTCCATGTGCCATGTACAG-3', forward primer 5'-ACTCCATGTGCCATGTACAG-3', 285 base pair band specific to BVD virus was detected. In conclusions, the results of above tests which executed using the diarrheal feces and ulcerous lesion of the mouth and the isolates were conformed as BVD virus.

막증류 공정에서 PE 및 PVDF 중공사막의 액체투과압력 측정에 관한 연구 (Measurement of Liquid Entry Pressure of PE and PVDF Hollow Fiber Membranes in Membrane Distillation Process)

  • 막증류(membrane distillation, MD)용 분리막의 장기 내구성능에 영향을 미치는 인자인 소수성 분리막의 젖음 현상에 대한 평가 지표로 사용되는 액체투과압력(liquid entry pressure, LEP) 측정 방법을 최적화하였다. PE (polyethylene) 분리막 및 PVDF (polyvinylidene di-fluoride) 중공사 분리막의 LEP를 측정하기 위하여 20 wt%의 고농도 염수를 제조하여 원수로 사용하고 투과수의 전도도를 모니터링하였다. PE와 PVDF 중공사 분리막의 신뢰성 있는 LEP 측정을 위해서는 5 min 이상의 holing time을 두고 주입 압력을 증가시켜야 하며, 증류수 수조의 물량대비 분리막의 면적비 또한 $10m^2/m^3$ 이상으로 부여되어야 함을 확인하였다.

Application of Ultrasonography to Investigate Postpartum Anestrus in Water Buffaloes

  • Anestrus is one of the most important production limiting disorders in dairy buffaloes and its underlying causes have been a current topic of studies. The objectives of this study were to explore the causes of anestrus in buffaloes with the application of ultrasonography. Two examinations were performed by transrectal ultrasonography at 12 days apart in buffalo cows that were not seen in oestrus at 60 or more days postpartum. As high as 54.5% buffaloes had silent ovulation and 45.5% suffered from the true anestrus with ovarian dysfunction. The duration of anestrus after calving was 60~90, 91~120, 121~180 and 181~365 days in 27%, 32%, 18% and 23% buffalo cows, respectively. Treatment with prostaglandin of cyclic buffalo cows with a corpus luteum (72.7%) resulted in higher estrous rate as compared with close observation of estrus (23.1%) by the farmer (p=0.021). Acyclic buffalo cows without any corpus luteum on ovaries were successfully treated with gonadotropin releasing hormone (70%), resulting in higher estrous detection rate than those treated with a vitamin-mineral mixture (20%) (p=0.035). In conclusion, poor heat detection due to silent ovulation is the most important cause of apparent anoestrus in buffaloes; however the percentage of the true anestrous is also quite high in postpartum buffaloes.

계산화학적 방법을 통한 β-D-glucopyranose 구조 연구 (Computational Studies of the β-D Glucopyranose Structure)

  • 본 연구에서는 ${\beta}$-D-glucopyranose 분자의 hydroxymethyl group의 두 torsion angle의 변화에 따른 포텐셜 에너지의 변화를 진공 상태와 implicit water 상태에서 연구하였으며 이를 통해 Solvation Energy가 구조에 미치는 영향에 대해서 알아보았다. 계산에 사용한 프로그램은 AMBER package였으며, force field는 GLYCAM_06을 사용하였다. Solvation model은 Hawkins, Cramer, Truhlar 등이 제안한 generalized Born model을 사용하였다. 계산 결과, methyl hydroxyl group 내의 hydroxyl group이 고리구조의 hydroxyl group과 강한 수소결합이 가능한 영역에서 많은 변화가 일어났다. 이를 통해 solvation effect로 인해서 수소 결합의 중요성이 감소했다는 결론을 내렸다.

Optimization of three small-scale solar membrane distillation desalination systems

  • Membrane distillation (MD), which can utilize low-grade thermal energy, has been extensively studied for desalination. By incorporating solar thermal energy, the solar membrane distillation desalination system (SMDDS) is a potential technology for resolving the energy and water resource problems. Small-scale SMDDS (s-SMDDS) is an attractive and viable option for the production of fresh water for small communities in remote arid areas. The minimum-cost design and operation of s-SMDDS are determined by a systematic method, which involves a pseudo steady state approach for equipment sizing and the dynamic optimization using overall system mathematical models. The s-SMDDS employing three MD configurations, including the air gap (AGMD), direct contact (DCMD) and vacuum (VMD) types, are optimized. The membrane area of each system is $11.5m^2$. The AGMD system operated for 500 kg/day water production rate gives the lowest unit cost of $5.92/m^3$. The performance ratio and recovery ratio are 0.85 and 4.07%, respectively. For the commercial membrane employed in this study, the increase of membrane mass transfer coefficient up to two times is beneficial for cost reduction and the reduction of membrane heat transfer coefficient only affects the cost of the DCMD system.

산술부호화를 이용한 연성 워터마킹 기법 (A Fragile Watermarking Scheme Using a Arithmetic Coding)

  • In this paper, a new fragile watermarking algorithm for digital image is presented, which makes resolving the security and forgery problem of the digital image to be possible. The most suitable watermarking method that verifies the authentication and integrity of the digital image is the Wong's method, which invokes the hash function (MD5). The algorithm is safe because this method uses the hash function of the cryptology. The operations such as modulus, complement, shift, bitwise exclusive-or, bitwise inclusive-or are necessary for calculating the value of hash function. But, in this paper, an Arithmetic encoding method that only includes the multiplication operation is adopted. This technique prints out accumulative probability interval, which is obtained by multiplying the input symbol probability interval. In this paper, the initial probability interval is determined according to the value of the key, and the input sequence of the symbols is adjusted according to the key value so that the accumulative probability interval will depend on the key value. The integrity of the algorithm has been verified by experiment. The PSNR is above the 51.13db and the verifying time is $1/3{\sim}1/4$ of the verifying time of using the hash function (MD5), so, it can be used in the real-time system.

  • iATA(Internet Advanced Technology Attachment)는 TCP/IP 네트워크를 통해 원격의 대용량의 가상 저장 공간을 자신의 로컬 디스크 처럼 활용이 가능하게 하는 기술로 이는 모바일 기기(PDA, 휴대폰 등)와 같은 저장 공간의 부족문제를 가지고 있는 장치에 적용하여 저장 공간의 부족 문제를 근본적으로 해결할 수 있는 솔루션이라 할 수 있다. iATA는 SCSI 하드디스크가 장착된 시스템에서만 서버를 구축해야만 하는 iSCSI와는 달리 일반 가정이나 사무실에서 주로 사용하는 ATA 하드 디스크에도 서버 구축이 가능한 확장성을 가지고 있으며 이는 iATA의 최대 장점 중 하나라 할 수 있다. 또한, Web 사이트를 통해 많은 사람들이 iATA 서비스를 이용하여 자신의 모바일 기기에서의 저장공간 문제를 극복할 수 있으며, 최근 사회 문제로 크게 대두되고 있는 개인 정보 유출의 폐해를 막기 위해 개인 인증시 OpenSSL과 MD5를 이용한 보안/암호화 기법을 사용하여 개인 정보 유출에 의한 불이익 및 개인 정보 악용으로 인한 범죄를 막을 수 있다. 하지만, 기존의 iATA상에서는 디스크 관리가 서버에서만 가능하다는 문제점이 있다. 즉, 사용자만의 개인공간을 가질 수가 없다. 이처럼 개인 사진이나, 다이어리같은 정보들을 관리 할 수 없는 문제점을 해결하기 위해 클라이언트에서 자신만의 디스크 공간을 가질 수 있게 파티션을 할당해주고, 그 공간을 클라이언트만의 공간으로 만들어 주는 기술을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다.

Adaptation of New Institutional Theory in Shariah Governance Practice, Structure and Process

  • Purpose: The study aims to delineate Shariah Governance Framework (SGF) by applying the components of New Institutional Theory (NIT) to provide an understanding of how Islamic banks theoretically influence Shariah Governance (SG) practice, structure, and process. Design/methodology/approach: As it is a conceptual paper, this paper has prepared based on an analytical approach to show how such institutions could provide a more effective system concerning the contents, procedures, and practices for the multiple users in the SG process of Islamic banks. Findings: The paper critically explores the adoption of NIT to develop SGF with its existing practice, structure, and procedure. Utilizing NIT, a proposed theoretical framework has developed for exploring the SG through its major components, i.e., 'isomorphism' and 'legitimacy'. It is stated that NIT can offer a useful framework by which homogenous structures, comprising guidelines, standards, and practices become recognized and authorized as a satisfactory standard corporate exercise. Thus, the proposed theoretical framework would be beneficial in understanding and exploring the SGF. Conclusion: The application of this SGF could help to justify the key dimensions of NIT with its overall formation, function, and practices that might also help to attain legitimacy.

오류 주입 공격을 이용한 HMAC에 대한 키 복구 공격 (A Key Recovery Attack on HMAC using Fault Injection Attack)

  • FDTC'05와 CISC-W'10에서는 오류 주입을 통하여 타깃 알고리즘의 라운드 수를 감소시킴으로써 AES와 Triple-DES의 비밀키를 각각 찾을 수 있음을 보였다. 본 논문에서는 이 공격 아이디어를 HMAC에 적용하여 비밀키를 복구할 수 있음을 보인다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 공격은 MD 계열의 해쉬 함수가 사용된 HMAC에 적용 가능하며, 매우 적은 계산 복잡도로 비밀키를 복구할 수 있다. 특히, HMAC-SHA-2에 대한 공격 결과는 HMAC-SHA-2에 대한 첫 번째 키 복구 공격 결과이다.
