This study investigates empirically the export competitiveness of Korea and Japan in America by calculating 4 indexes such as market share index(MSI), export similarity index(ESI), market comparative adventage index(MCAI) and market share expansion ratio(MSER)-export similarity deepening ratio(ESDR). The empirical finding of this analysis shows that Korea is competitive in the labor-intensive products and Japan in the technology-intensive products. This result also meets the general understandings that Japan is superior to Korea in the export competitiveness such as value added of goods, etc. Therefore, in order to strengthen the export competitiveness of Korea in the US market, it's desirable for our firms and government to improve the quality of product ranges by developing technologies focused on the higher value-added products.

ROK issued its first type certificate to the KC-100 airplane, Part 23 normal category, and become the State of Design (SoD) in 2013. Before this, ROK aviation regulations were focused on the operation and continued airworthiness of aircraft registered and operated in ROK that were designed and manufactured in another contracting state. Therefore the implementation of reporting system were restricted to gather the failure and service difficulty reports from the owners or operators and transmit the information to the State of Design and/or the manufacture relating to the type certificated aircraft. However, ROK, to fulfill the accountability of the State of Design, has to ensure there is a system to address the information received from the State of Registry on failure, malfunctions, defects and other occurrences that might cause adverse effects on the continuing airworthiness of the korean type certificated aircraft. This paper presents an overview of ICAO requirements for the State of Design, and current implementation of reporting system of USA and Japan and discusses the current status and further considerations on the rule-making for the malfunction, defect and failure reporting system applicable to the korean indigenous aircraft.

Various trade competitiveness-related indices such as TSI, CACI, MCAI, and IITI are applied to examine the trade structure of comparative advantage and complementarity between Jonnama and Chinese on agricultural and Fisheries industry using the data of years 2000-2012 of KITA. The result show that Joennam has specialized in the product of other products of animal origin and preparations of vegetables, fruit, nuts, other par. The Intra-Industry trade level of Korean agricultural and Fisheries industry were in the trend of uprising with vertical intra-industry pattern dominant among them in the product live trees other live plants, edible vegetables roots, oil seeds oleaginous fruit, other vegetable saps extracts, preparations of cereals flour starch. As expected, Jeonnam region show that the high quality vertical IIT, indicating that Jeonnam export high-priced high quality products to China and import cheap low quality items from China. Finally, the innovation of production system, distribution modernization, value-maximizing strategies were suggested as a strengthening method of competitiveness.
