We analyze the performance of MC-CDMA and MC-DS/CDMA system on quasi-synchronized moble satellite return link. Quasi-synchronization is considered that chip offset between terminals is within a few chips. In 10-3 BER, performance of MC-DS/CDMA system with walsh code is 0.3dB better than that of MC-CDMA system when the number of user is 5 from -0.5 $T_{c}$ to 0.5 $T_{c}$ quasi-synchronization of MC-DS/CDMA system and from -5/64 $T_{c}$$^{MC}$ to 5/64 $T_{c}$$^{MC}$ quasi-synchronization of MC-CDMA system. MC-DS/CDMA system with walsh code is over 0.2dB better than that of MC-DS/CDMA system with extended m code and gold code. MC-CDMA system with walsh code is over 1.2dB better than that of MC-CDMA system with gold code when the number of user is 5 and lower than from -5/32 $T_{c}$$^{MC}$ to 5/32 $T_{c}$$^{MC}$ quasi-synchronization.

We analyze the performances of MC-CDMA and MC-DS/CDMA systems on quasi-synchronized mobile satellite return link. Quasi-synchronization is considered that chip offset between user terminals is within a few chips. Since the transmitted signals of MC-CDMA and MC-DS/CDMA systems have non-constant envelop, they are easily distorted by nonlinearity of transmit amplifier. Since the nonlinear amplifier input signal level of MC-CDMA system using Walsh code to employ frequency domain spreading is lower than that of MC-DS/CDMA system, performance of single user in MC-CDMA system is respectively 2.3dB and 1dB better than that of MC-DS/CDMA system when amplifier input backoff is 0dB and 6dB. However, since interference of MC-DS/CDMA is less than that of MC-CDMA with many subcarriers in quasi-synchronization and AWGN channel, MC-DS/CDMA system is much better than MC-CDMA system as the number of users increases.

In this study, Momordica charantia (MC) fermented with Leuconostoc mesenteroides (MC-LM) were assessed for the antioxidant and the antidiabetic activities. Antioxidant activities of MC and MC-LM were evaluated using 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS) radical. Although MC-treated groups showed little activity, 47% of activity was observed at $500{\mu}g/mL$ concentration for MC-LM and increased significantly(p<0.05) as MC-LM concentration increased. MC-LM more effectively inhibited the oxidative damage of DNA by peroxyl radical than MC and the inhibition of the strand breakage increased significantly as MC-LM concentration increased(p<0.05). Measuring the inhibition of ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ activity, which is closely related to the regulation of blood sugar, resulted in MC reduced the activity of ${\alpha}-glucosidase$ by 30% at 8 mg/mL and MC-LM at the same concentration by 60%. In addition, the effect of MC-LM on the cell viability of alloxan-treated RIN-m5F resulted in a significant increase in cell survival(p<0.05) in the group treated with MC-LM and a 20% increase in the concentration of $1000{\mu}g/mL$. As a result of insulin secretion by alloxan-treated RIN-m5F cell, the level of insulin secretion tended to increase in all group treated with MC-LM. At the concentration of $1000{\mu}g/mL$, the insulin secretion was increased by 15% in MC-LM group than in MC group. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that fermented bitter gourd has antioxidant and antidiabetic effects.
In this paper we introduce the concepts of the Mc-Shane-Stieltjes integral and the Denjoy-McShane-Stieltjes integral for Banach-valued functions and give a characterization of the Mc-Shane-Stieltjes integrability and investigate some properties of the Denjoy-McShane-Stieltjes integral.

Competitive displacement of methylcellulose (MC) absorbed at the oil-water interface was investigated by interfacial composition, surface shear viscosity, or surface tension measurements. It was found that all emulsifiers could competitively displace the interfacial MC from the oil-water interface but their behaviors were different from each other. With Tween 20 added to MC emulsion (1 wt% MC, 10 wt% n-tetradecane, 20 mM bis-tris, pH 7), MC load was steadily decreased with increasing concentrations of the emulsifier, as confirmed by surface shear viscosity measurements; moreover, there was complete MC displacement from the emulsion droplet surface at high concentration (0.1 wt%). The oil-soluble Span 80 was found to show a synergism with MC at the interface, which resulted in higher MC load at relatively low emulsifier concentrations ($\leq$0.05 wt%). At a higher emulsifier concentration (0.1 wt%) limited MC displacement was observed. These results were well supported by surface shear viscosity measurements. With water-soluble SDS, MC load was decreased with increasing concentrations of the emulsifier. Unlike Tween 20, however, it was found that at high concentrations (> 0.1 wt%), there was still some MC remaining at the droplet surface. Surface tension measurements are suggestive of an interfacial complex between MC and SDS.
The geometry of an MC (magnetic cloud) in the interplanetary space can be estimated by the magnetic flux rope model. But the single point observation in the interplanetary space near the Earth is scanty to comprehend the global configuration of MC because the MC is considered a huge loop extending from the Sun with both legs rooted on the Sun. If the MC is observed at two different locations sufficiently far away from each other, it may provide the global configuration of the MC. In this study, we model the MC which is observed two different locations using a simple straight cylinder model. The MC model fit parameters are the flux rope axis orientation (${\Theta}$, ${\phi}$), the intensity of the magnetic field at the flux rope axis ($B_0$), the radius of the MC ($R_0$), and the impact parameter (p), etc. With the MC model fit parameters we look into the difference between two observed MC geometries and also calculate the magnetic flux and helicity of the MC.
Acanthamoeba sap., free-living amoebae inhabited in moist soil, pond, freshwater, sewage, atmosphere and swimming pool, may be causative protozoa of the fatal primary amoebic meningoence-phalitis in experimental animals and humans. In this study, Acar, thamoeba spry. , including Acan. thamoeba sp. YM-4 (isolated strain from Korea) had been compared by the two-dimensional electrophoresis and hybridoma technique as well as the difference of morphological characteristics. Trophozoite of Acenthamoeba sp. YM-4 is usually uninucleate and show the hyaline filamentous projections (acanthopoda) . No aagellate stage observed. Cysts have two walls, the outer wall is nearly circular, but inner wall is oval or some irregular. As results of SDS-PAGE for Iysate of Acanthamoeba sp. VM-4, 16 major protein fractions are similiar to those of A. cuzbertsoni, but different to A. royreba and A. polyphaga. Findings of two-dimensional electrophoretic patterns of Acanthamceba sp. YM-4 are almost same to those of A. culberssoni, The isotope of monoclonal antibodies produced from McAY 6, McAY 7, McAY 8, McAY 13 and McAY 16 clones were IgGl, and McAY 10 and McAY 11 clones were IsM. As results of the cross-reactivity among various amoebae using ELISA with monoclonal antibodies, McAY 7 monoclonal antibody (molecular weight 43 kDa by EITB) was only reacted with Acanthamoeba sp. YM-4, but McAY 6 and McAY 10 monoclonal antibodies were reacted to A. cuzbertsoni as well as Acanthamoeba sp. YM-4.
This study has been undertaken to examine the effect of 3-methylcholanthrene (3MC) on rat uterine growth and to understand the mechanism of action of 3MC in rat uterus. After diethylstilbesterol(DES) or tamoxifen(TAM) or 3MC or DES plus TAM or DES plus 3MC was administered into immature female rats, uterine weight over corn oil-treated uteri. 3MC treatment had no effect on uterine weight but, DES stimulated uterine weight was inhibited by 3MC concomitant tratment. While TAM alone treatment showed slight increase in uterine wieght, inhibited uterine growth simulated by DES when it was adiministrated with DES condirect binding assay with $[^3H]$ estradiol and the relative binding affinities of 3MC and TAM were estimated by competetion assy. Estradiol tumed out to have high affinity for rat uterine estrogen receptor (kd = 0.4 nM). The relative binding affinities of TAM and 3MC were 1% and 4.7% that of DES for rat uterine estrogen receptor, respectively. 3MC was shown to have similar affinity for eat uterine estrogen receptor to that of TAM. Effects of DES 3MC and TAM administration in vivo on rat uterine estrogen recptor level were examined. It was confirmed that the estrogen, DES and antiestrogen, TAM decreased estrogen receptor levels from rat ulterus and also 3MC decreased rat uterine estrogen receptor level when rats were treated with DES, TAM and 3MC in vivo. Data indicates that 3MC acts as an antiestrogen mediated through estrogen receptor system.
The strains selected in the previous paper were identified according to the manual of Aspergilli by Thom and Raper, and the preparation of the crude enzymes with the strains were investigated. The fermented fodders were made with wheat bran and chaffs containing 20% wheat bran by the strains, and the feeding experiments concerned was conducted. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The selected strains were identified as below; MC-9 was a similar strain of Aspergillus niger van Tieghem, MC-10 was a similar strain of Aspergillus flavus Link, MC-53 was a similar strain of Aspergillus penicilloides Spegazzini and MC-61 was a similar strain of Aspergillus niger mut Schiemanni n. comb. 2. Percentages of crude enzymes obtained from the dried matters of the wheat bran cultures were MC-9: 2.9%, MC-10: 3.9%, MC-53: 6.4% and MC-61:2.6%. And the cellulase activity of MC-9 was the most active among the crude enzymes as the same as the filtrates of wheat bran cultures. 3. As the results of the feeding experiments, changes of body weights showed no trends to be significant as compared with the control group, and the groups of MC-9 and MC-61 showed the increasing significance with P<0.05 in egg-laying rate.

This study compared the dose calculated using the electron Monte Carlo (eMC) dose calculation algorithm employing the old version (eMC V13.7) of the Varian Eclipse treatment-planning system (TPS) and its newer version (eMC V16.1). The eMC V16.1 was configured using the same beam data as the eMC V13.7. Beam data measured using the VitalBeam linear accelerator were implemented. A box-shaped water phantom (30×30×30 cm3) was generated in the TPS. Consequently, the TPS with eMC V13.7 and eMC V16.1 calculated the dose to the water phantom delivered by electron beams of various energies with a field size of 10×10 cm2. The calculations were repeated while changing the dose-smoothing levels and normalization method. Subsequently, the percentage depth dose and lateral profile of the dose distributions acquired by eMC V13.7 and eMC V16.1 were analyzed. In addition, the dose-volume histogram (DVH) differences between the two versions for the heterogeneous phantom with bone and lung inserted were compared. The doses calculated using eMC V16.1 were similar to those calculated using eMC V13.7 for the homogenous phantoms. However, a DVH difference was observed in the heterogeneous phantom, particularly in the bone material. The dose distribution calculated using eMC V16.1 was comparable to that of eMC V13.7 in the case of homogenous phantoms. The version changes resulted in a different DVH for the heterogeneous phantoms. However, further investigations to assess the DVH differences in patients and experimental validations for eMC V16.1, particularly for heterogeneous geometry, are required.
