Differences in Safety Perceptions of Use According to Cosmetic Information of Women

  • Purposes: This is a study on the perception of safety in use according to cosmetic information. Research design, data and methodology: As a result of analyzing 324 women in their twenties living in the metropolitan area, the following conclusions were drawn. Results: As a result of measuring the awareness of cosmetic information, the awareness of 'cosmetic-related knowledge' (M=3.52) and 'cosmetic performance' (M=3.43) was high, indicating that information on cosmetic knowledge was actively shared with each other. It was understood that the method of use and effect were properly recognized and that the cosmetics were selected. 'Correct cosmetic storage method' is significant in the factors of interest in cosmetics (p<.001), and 'the harmful ingredients of cosmetics that should be avoided' are significant in the factors of cosmetic information (p<0.05) and the factors of interest in cosmetics (p<0.01). 'Trouble-causing ingredients' showed a statistically significant difference in safety perception in all factors except cosmetic performance factors. Conclusion: There is a need to construct a system that allows consumers to easily purchase cosmetics that are necessary for their skin by schematically or simplifying the information on the usage period and trouble-causing ingredients after opening the cosmetics to be easily understood.

지대주 경사각이 지르코니아 전부도재관의 변연적합도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Abutment Inclined Angle on the Marginal Fit of Zirconia All-ceramic Crown)

  • Purpose: The present study was performed to investigate the effect of abutment inclined angle on the marginal fit of zirconia all-ceramic crown. Methods: The Ti abutments with 3 different inclined angle($2^{\circ}$, $4^{\circ}$ and $6^{\circ}$) were fabricated. The zirconia copings were fabricated for each abutment by using dental CAD/CAM system. The manufactured zirconia copings were duplicated through silicone replica technique, and a replicated specimen was sectioned in the center of bucco-lingual and mesio-distal axial to measure the marginal fit by using a stereo microscope. The results were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA with SPSS 22.0 for Windows(${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: On the bucco-lingual axial, marginal fit was the RL3($41.5{\pm}3.4{\mu}m$), RL2($44.3{\pm}4.3{\mu}m$) and RL1($47.5{\pm}5.7{\mu}m$), respectively. On the mesio-distal axial, marginal fit was the RL3($41.1{\pm}3.7{\mu}m$), RL2($45.7{\pm}5.3{\mu}m$) and RL1($46.2{\pm}4.5{\mu}m$), respectively. One-way ANOVA showed statistically significant difference between groups for marginal fit(p<0.05). Conclusion: For marginal fit of the abutments inclined angle, RL3 specimen was superior. The abutment inclined angle had influence on marginal fit of the zirconia copings. The marginal fit of each group were within clinically acceptable range.

전북지역 양돈장에서의 돼지 부종병 항체 및 톡신 양성률 조사 (Prevalence of antibody and toxin against edema disease from pig farms in Jeonbuk province)

  • Edema disease (ED) in pigs is enterotoxemia caused by Shiga toxin type 2e (Stx2e)-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) and frequently occurs in young piglets. Therefore, ED causes enormous economic losses in pig farms. In this study, a modified Stx2e (mStx2e) antigen was expressed and purified using commercial E. coli expression system. Monoclonal antibody was serviced by Ynto Ab Inc., using Phage Display Technique. Anti-Stx2e antibodies in piglets were measured by indirect ELISA using mStx2e antigens. Naive Stx2e in piglets were detected by Sandwich ELISA using Stx2e-monoclonal antibodies and commercial Stx2e-polyclonal antibodies. Among 3,480 piglets, anti-Stx2e antibodies were observed in 2,573 piglets. The 49.4% among 830 piglet serum samples possessed 0.625 ㎍/mL or more of Stx2e proteins. The 18.3% of 830 sera had 0.313 ㎍/mL of Stx2e proteins. The 32.3% of 830 samples held 0.156 ㎍/mL or less of Stx2e proteins. These results show that indirect ELISA using mStx2e antigen and Sandwich ELISA using Stx2e-monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies can be useful to detect ED in piglets.

공기중 유기용제 농도 측정에 있어서 수동식 시료채취기의 성능평가 및 한국산 수동식 시료채취기의 개발에 관한 연구 제 1 부 : 외국산 수동식 시료채취기의 성능 평가 (Evaluation of Commercially Available Passive Samplers and Development of New Passive Samplers Part 1: Evaluation of Commercially Available Passive Samplers)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the performance of three passive samplers made in U.S.A. Three passive samplers selected for this study included products made by 3M, Gilian, and SKC in U.S.A. Three organic solvents, such as toluene, trichloroethylene, and n-hexane which are used frequently in Korean industry were selected for the study. Conclusions obtained from this study are summarized as follows. 1. For toluene and trichloroethylene, the overall accuracy of the results from all of three products was within 25 %, which is the criteria recommended by the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). For n-hexane, the overall accuracy of the results from two products except 3M was exceeding 25 %. Thus 3M product showed the best accuracy among three products. 2. When passive samplers collected organic vapors were exposed to clean air for two hours, there were 12 - 16 % loss of organic vapors due to reverse diffusion in Gilian products. There was no significant loss in results from other two products. 3. Air velocity affected greatly on the performance of passive samplers which did not have permeation membrane. At high velocity, 100 cm/sec, accuracies of results from Gilian and SKC were 57 - 108 and 128 - 164 %, respectively. However, the results from 3M samplers, which contain permeation membrane, indicated accuracy below 25 %. 4. When passive samplers collected organic vapors for eight hours, the accuracy was reduced. Thus, it is recommended that passive samplers be used for less than four hours.

재조합 lysozyme-HJP34 단백질의 다양한 병원성 세균에 대한 항균 효능 및 자돈 사료첨가제의 가능성 평가 (Antibacterial evaluation of recombinant lysozyme-HJP24 proteins against various bacterial pathogens, and of its possibility test as a feed additive in piglets)

  • The recombinant lysozyme-HJL34 proteins were expressed and purified using commercial Escherichia (E.) coli expression system. Stx2e+ F18+ E. coli, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP), Streptococcus (S.) suis, and Clostridium (C.) perfringens strains were isolated from pigs. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of the recombinant lysozyme-HJP34 proteins were examined by means of the microtiter plate method, according to the NCCLS recommendations. The possibility of its as the alternatives to antibiotics was tested in piglets. The MICs were determined as 75 ㎍/mL, 300 ㎍/mL, 75 ㎍/mL, 35.5 ㎍/m against Stx2e+ F18+ E. coli, APP, S. suis, C. perfringens, respectively. A total of 25 piglets were divied 5 groups. The piglets in group A~C were fed with commercial feed and those in groups D, E were fed with commercial feedstuff. All piglets in groups B~E were challenged with virulent Stx2e+ F18+ E. coli, APP, S. suis strains. Groups C and D were treated with antimicrobial from 24 h after challenge. All piglets in group B died within 3 days after challenge. Among 5 piglets in groups C and D piglets, 80% survived after challenge. Among group E piglets, 60% were alive until the end of this study. Therefore, this study indicates that recombinant lysozyme-HJP34 proteins is a suitable possibility as a feed additive for reduction of diseases by bacterial pathogens in piglet feed.

분사배출 고도 응집.생물여과 공정을 이용한 하수처리수 중의 TP 및 NOM 제거 (Removal of Phosphorus and NOM in Wastewater Effluent Using Ejector.BAF System)

  • While the existing sewage treatment facilities are mainly being operated by biological processes, winter-time efficiency improvement and additional phosphorus treatment equipment using chemicals have been required to follow the effluent criteria of TP (0.2, 0.3 and 0.5 mg/L for the zone of I, II and III respectively) and $BOD_5$ (5.0 mg/L) which is intensified from 2012 in Republic of Korea. We made an investigation into actual condition of biological treatment process and calculated the optimal chemical input amount by jar test of supernatant of secondary sedimentation tank to evaluate the process improvement for the intensified criteria. Ejector BAF system for removing TP, $BOD_5$ of sewage effluent was suggested. The concentration of TP from biological process is 0.3-0.8 mg/L, and the input amount of optimal chemical coagulant was above Al/P ratio of 3(1.9 mg/L as Al) to meet the criteria of TP for secondary treatment effluent. From the results of this experiment, the best Al/P ratio for Ejector BAF system was about Al/P ratio of 1, and LV of BAF process for intensified criteria of $BOD_5$ and TP was below 1.97m/hr.

제조업사업장 외국인근로자 안전관리 실태와 개선방안연구 (Health and Safety Management Issues of Migrant Workers in Manufacturing Industries and Workplace Enhancement)

  • With the shortage of labor force in small and medium-size industries, the Korean Employment Permit System (EPS) continues to bring migrant workers. However, the question remains of the health and safety management of their migrant workers. Considering that a significant part of safety and health problems are caused by migrant workers due to a lack of information on identifying risk and inexperience in the field. Telephone interviews were conducted to investigate the migrant workers' perspectives on workplace safety practices. The survey focused on workers' accident histories, understanding of safety practices, and responding to industrial accidents. A total of 66 accidents occurred among 30 participants. 10 accidents were not reported to the employer (company), which the foreign workers judged to be minor injuries that should not be reported as accidents. 80.0% of the participants expressed dissatisfaction with the PPE they were using. Among various reasons lack of understanding due to language barriers, lack of awareness of the importance of safety, communication difficulties were major reasons for the caused accidents and potential health issues. It is necessary to improve the safety and health support system by providing practical support through specialized educational institutes with experts in the field. A legal framework and a proper safety management system need to be maintained. This study suggests changing the current policy to improve the health and safety of migrant workers by, establishing specialized educational institutes with locally grown foreign experts in the field.

치과용 3D 프린팅 시스템에 의해 출력된 보철물의 품질 평가 (An evaluation of quality of dental prostheses printed by dental 3-dimensional printing system)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to evaluate the quality of dental prostheses printed by 3-dimensional printing system. Methods: Mater model was prepared and ten study models were fabricated. Ten single crowns were printed by 3D-printing system(Resin group) and another ten single crowns using casting method were manufactured(Metal group). The marginal adaptation of single crowns were measured using by silicone replica technique. Silicone replicas were sectioned four times. The marginal adaptations were evaluated using by digital microscope. Statistical analyses were performed with Mann-Whitney test(${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: $Mean{\pm}standard$ deviations of all marginal adaptations were $92.1(20.0){\mu}m$ for Metal group and $69.7(12.3){\mu}m$ for Resin group. Two groups were no statistically significant differences(p>0.05). Conclusion: Marginal adaptation of single crowns printed by 3D-printing system were ranged within the clinical recommendation.

강우로 인한 유입하수량 증가와 슬러지 계면높이 변화에 따른 하수처리장 효율평가 (Evaluation of Sewage Treatment Plant Efficiency in the Variation of Sewage Inflow and Sludge Interface Height by Rainfall)

  • 이상 강우 시 하수유입량과 슬러지 계면높이의 변화가 처리효율에 미치는 영향을 실제 처리장에 적용해서 실험한 결과, 유입량이 증가하고, 계면높이가 높아질수록 공공처리장 방류수 수질기준 항목인 $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$, SS, T-N, T-P 처리효율이 감소하였다. 그중 SS는 강우 시 농도변화가 가장 심한 항목으로 0.5배(0.5 Q) 유입 시 슬러지 계면높이 0.5 m에서 74.2%, 1.0 m에서 76.4%, 1.5 m 70.2%, 2.0 m에서 60.7%로 계면높이를 1.0 m로 유지했을 때 처리효율이 가장 높았고, 1.0 Q 유입 시 0.5 m 71.7%, 1.0 m 71.9%, 1.5 m 46.4%, 2.0 m -38.0%로 나타났으며, 2.0 Q~2.0 m 이상과 3.0 Q~1.0 m 이상에서는 sludge rising 현상이 유발되어 공공수역에 악영향을 끼칠 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 계면높이를 0.5 m로 유지한다 할지라도 유입량이 증가하면 처리효율은 74.2%에서 17.3%로 감소하므로 강우 시 유입량 조절이 가장 중요하고, 계면높이를 1.0 m 이하로 유지하여 운영하여야 공공수역의 수질에 미치는 영향을 최소화 할 수 있다.

홍채 촬영용 광학계 설계 (Design of an Optical System for Iris Photographing)

  • 목적: 홍채학에 사용되는 소형 홍채 촬영용 광학계 설계. 방법: 소형 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 설계하기 위해 Sigma 2000 광학 설계 프로그램을 사용하였다. 결과: 마이크로 액츄에이터를 오토 포커싱에 사용하는 CCD에 적합한 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 설계하였는데, TCL이 30 mm이고, 배율이 -0.65배, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈까지의 거리가 약 8.0 mm, 경통 최대 구경 11 mm, 스톱의 유효구경이 약 1 mm인 특성을 가지는 광학계가 되었다. 또한 분해선폭은 30% MTF 값 기준으로 92 lps/mm인 특성을 보여준다. 결론: TCL이 30 mm이고, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈 까지의 거리가 약 8.0 mm, 경통 최대 구경 11 mm이고, MTF 30% 기준에서 분해능 선폭이 $5.4{\mu}m$에 이르는 광학계를 설계하여 홍채 촬영용 광학계를 소형화 할 수 있었다.
