We propose a low temperature sol-gel ZnO/Ag nanowire composite thin film to fulfill low temperature and low cost requirements, which are essential criteria in future flexible electronic devices. In this proposed thin film, Ag nanowire plays the role of electrical conduction, and sol-gel ZnO provides a structural medium with a high visible transmittance. Low temperature restriction in the sol-gel fabrication process prevents sufficient oxidation of Zn acetate precursors, which were solved by a post-coating treatment with ultraviolet light irradiation. Composite thin film formation was performed by spin coating methods with a mixed precursor solution or in a sequential manner. We obtained an average visible transmittance larger than 85% and a sheet resistance smaller than $50{\Omega}/sq$. After optimization in a fabricated composite transparent conductive thin film with the thickness around 100 nm. Similar experimental demonstration in a flexible substrate (polyethyleneterephthalate) was successful, which implies a promising application opportunity of this technology.

Recently, bulk hetero-junction cells have been extensively studied by many researchers. Most of these cells were fabricated by spin coater. However, the spin coating process is not favorable to the large-scaled industry because it is not compatible with roll-to-roll process. One of the alternative methods is Doctor blading. In this study, we fabricated large OPV cells having total area of $100cm^2$. The buffer layer was Poly-(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) : poly-(styrenesulfonate) aqueous dispersion (PEDOT:PSS) and the active material is poly (3-hexythiophene) (P3HT) and phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) blend in the solvent of Chlorobenzene. All of the organic layers were coated by dragging the blade with a speed of 5~20 mm/s on the stage with a temperature of $50^{\circ}C$. As-bladed PEDOT:PSS layer was baked at $120^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes to eliminate the water. The cell structure is patterned ITO substrate/PEDOT:PSS/P3HT:PCBM/LiF/Al. The topmost electrode, LiF/Al, was deposited by thermal evaporation. After depositing electrode, and the cell was annealed at $150^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes. The measured ISC, VOC, fill factor, and PCE were 2.95 A, 5.86 V, 0.32, and 0.78%, respectively. PCE was quite low but the large active area could be obtained successfully.
The thermoelectric power and dc conductivity of $La_{2/3+x}TiO_{3-{\delta}}$ (x = 0, 0.13) were investigated. The thermoelectric power was negative between 80K and 300K. The measured thermoelectric power of x = 0.13 increased linearly with increased temperatures and was represented by $S_0+BT$. The x = 0 sample exhibited insulating behavior, while the x = 0.13 sample showed metallic behavior. The electric resistivity of x = 0.13 had a linear temperature dependence at high temperatures and a T3/2 dependence below about 100K. On the other hand, the electric resistivity of x = 0 has a linear relation between $ln{\rho}/T$ and 1/T in the range of 200 to 300K, and the activation energy for small polaron hopping was 0.23 eV. The temperature dependence of thermoelectric power and the resistivity of x = 0 suggests that the charge carriers responsible for conduction are strongly localized. This temperature dependence indicates that the charge carrier (x = 0) is an adiabatic small polaron. These experimental results are interpreted in terms of spin (x = 0.13) and small polaron (x = 0) hopping of almost localized Ti 3d electrons.
We measured the pH-induced spectral changes of yeast iso-1-cytochrome c on silver nanoparticle surfaces using surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) at 457.9 nm. At a pH of ~3, the Met80 ligand in yeast iso-1-cytochrome c is assumed to dissociate, leading to a marked conformational change as evidenced by the vibrational spectral shifts. The Soret band at ~410 nm in the UV-Vis spectrum shifted to ~396 nm at pH~3, indicating a transition from a low spin state to a high spin state from a weak interaction with a water molecule. Thus, SERRS spectroscopy can measure the pH-induced denaturalization of cyt c adsorbed on metal nanoparticle surfaces at a lower concentration with a better sensitivity than ordinary resonance Raman spectroscopy.

Hydrophobically End-capped polyethylene oxide Urethane Resin(HEUR)-associating polymers, HEUR 35(8), HEUR 35(12), and HEUR 35(18), comprise a polyethylene oxide (PEO) having a molecular weight of 35,000 that is end capped with two C$\_$8/H$\_$17/, C$\_$12/H$\_$25/, and C$\_$18/H$\_$37/ alkyl chains, respectively. These associating polymers were synthesized by condensation reactions with polyethylene oxides and alkyl isocyanates. The self-diffusion coefficients of HEUR-associating polymers were measured in aqueous solution by pulsed-gradient spin-echo (PGSE) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. All polymers underwent a decrease in their mean diffusion coefficients as the concentration was increased. However, the dispersion of the diffusion coefficients, ${\beta}$, about the mean fluctuated with changes in concentration. The large dispersion at low concentrations of HEUR 35(8) and HEUR 35(12) is related to the interaction between hydrophobic end groups, and the large dispersion at high concentrations of HEUR 35(18) is correlated with transient network formation. These results are valuable for predicting the associating mechanism of the large aggregates before and after their critical micelle concentration.

Strontium barium niobate, (Sr$\sub$0.5/Ba$\sub$0.5/Nb$_2$O$\sub$6/), thin films of various composition were prepared by the sol-gel method. Solution derived from acetate powders and niobium ethoxide in a mixture of acetic acid, ethylene glycol and 2-methoxyehanol was spin-coated onto bare silicon, Pt-coated silicon and fused silica substrates. Processing parameters were optimized to develop stable solutions which yielded films with relatively low crystallization temperatures. It was determined that ethylene glycol was a necessary component of the solution to increase stability against precipitation and to decrease the crystallization temperature of the films as confirmed by XRD and FT-IR analyses.
We present results of two-color VR photometry of the intermediate polar RXS J1803. The data were aquired using the Korean 1-m telescope located at Mt. Lemmon, USA. Different "high" and "low" luminosity states, similar to other intermediate polars, were discovered. No statistically significant variability of the color index with varying luminosity was detected. The orbital variability was found to be not statistically significant. Spin maxima timings were determined, as well as the photometric ephemeris for the time interval of our observations. The spin period variations, caused by interaction of the accretion structure with the rotating magnetic white dwarf, were also detected. These variations are of complicated character, and their study requires further observations. We determine the color transformation coefficients for our photometric systems, and improve on the secondary photometric standards.
The electron spin resonanec of sigle crystals of L-alanine have been observed at T=300K, 100K and analyzed for different orieantations of the crystal in the magnetic field and at microwave frequency X-band. The stable free radical profuced by the irradiation is proved to be of the form CH$_3$CHR, where R is a group which has no nuclei with detectable coupling A notable dependence on temperature of the absorption was observed in the range from 1100K to 2l0K. It was concluded that the reorietation of the methy group of the radical H$_3$CCHR is quenched at low temperature.

Ti : $LiNbO_3$ traveling-wave phase optical modulators at wavelength 1.3㎛ have been designed and fabricated, focusing on the optical waveguide and asymmetric coplanar electrode structure. To improve the phase-mismatch of traveling-wave ACPS electrode, the characteristic impedance, effective microwave index, and electrode loss have been presented as a function of geometric parameters including electrode and buffer layer thickness. Low-loss channel optical waveguides on $LiNbO_3$ were fabricated by the Ti diffusion method with $O_2$ water-vapor environment. $2.5{\mu}m$ thick electrode was successfully fabricated by double-spin image reversal process. Modulation bandwidth was limited by a resonance at 2.9 GHz and modulation bandwidth up to 2.5GHz was approxirnately measured.
